Wait, Where Did These Fireworks Come From?
Pinkie Pie was pacing in her room. She was staring at the floor with a worried look on her face, looking up and around every so often, as if to see if any of her party decorated room could help ease her anxiety. But, it did not. Eventually, a little toothless aligator jumped up and bit down on Pinkie's forelock, and was now swinging about in front of her face.Pinkie was so glad to see him, since he seemed to disappear in the morning.
"Oh, Gummy! Its just amazingtastically awful!" Pinkie flopped onto the floor as she spoke to her pet. Gummy just blinked.
"I have to plan what Ìve been told to be the MOST IMPORTANT PARTY IN THE HISTORY OF EQUESTRIA! I have to plan it! Oh, Gummy, I'm just so stressadoodled! I'm worried that I mess something up! And this isn't like when the yaks came, these.. err... things, dont just come from a country that lives next door! They come from they other side of the planet! Im so worried that, if I do something wrong, I wont be able to fix it!"
Gummy blinked again.
"What's that, Gummy?"
He blinked twice.
"Throw everything into the part cannon?"
He winked and then he blinked.
"Fire the cannon once that's done?"
Slowly, Gummy winked.
Pinkei gasped, "And see if they like it!? Gummy, you're a genius!" Pinkie hugged her pet and gave him a big, wet kiss on the nose.
"Thanks, Gummy! I'll be in the Party Cave if you need me!" At this, Pinkie disappeared into her special cave.
What is the meaning of life? Is it just running around, having parties, having fun, being happy? Yes, happiness may be an essential feeling, but too much of can lead to hangovers, surprise pregnancies, smoking, drugs, and just going down the wrong route. The wrong route may cause an early death, lost families, and watching too much TV. So, I ask again, what is the meaning of life? Life has more to it than parties, but my 'owner' doesnt seem to think so. Life can be magical, sometimes even scary, but maybe.. the meaning of life might just be forty-two, Gummy thought.
It was the night of the party, and Pinkie was more nervous than ever. She had used Gummy's advice and stuffed everything into her cannon, and opened fire in the main room of Sugarcube Corner. And then, Pinkie had to wait for these new creatures to arrive. Pinkie's anxiety was just growing by every passing minute. She was so anxious that she was pacing like absolutely crazy. Her friends were there, and they were worried about Pinkie's unusual behaviour.
"Hey, calm on da'wn, sugarcube," Applejack said.
"CALM DOWN!? How can I CALM DOWN when creatures everypony hasnt seen before come HERE and expect ME to PLAN a PARTY for THEM!?"
"Pinkie, darling, you're scaring the guests." Rarity motioned towards all of the ponies cowering in a corner of the bakery.
"Oh... sorry.. I'm just... awfulazingtastically anxious."
"Pinkie, it's okay. Just pretend that it's like one of your normal parties," Twilight said, trying to reassure the panicking, pink, party-planner pony.
"Okay, I'll try."
"Hehe, thats the spirit, Pinks!" Rainbow said, giving Pinkie a noogie.
Then there was a knock at the door.
Pinkie heard this, and she pretty much passed out.
"Hey, Pinkie Pie? Ya 'lright?"
Pinkie slowly opened her eyes at the sound of Rainbow's voice. She groaned and got up.
"Wh... where am I?"
"Ya're in Sugarcube Corner, sugarcube." Applejack replied.
"Yup. Passed out at the sound of somepony knocking on the door."
"It turns out that it was all a prank, darling. It was just Princess Celestia and Luna." Rarity motioned towards the two regal ponies standing by the refreshments.
"They said that they totally dig the decorations, nice work on making the place cool. But it needs to be at least 20% cooler to be as cool as me!" Rainbow flicked her mane and put a smug smile on her face.
A random pegasus with a cherry coat and a purple mane seemed to burst through the door at that moment. She flew up to Rainbow's level and literally went eye to eye with her, giving her a disgusted look.
"Stop being egotistical. Or. You. Die."
With that, the pony flew away. But stopped after moving away two centimeters from Rainbow. With a flick of her tail, the pegasus swatted Rainbow on her flank, and then stormed out of the bakery, leaving everypony confused — and Rainbow's flank stinging. A lot.
"Geez, what's her problem?" A random pony said from the crowd of ponies that had gathered during the scene.
"Agghhhh... that mare's stronger than she looks..." Rainbow said while rubbing her flank where the pegasus had struck her.
"YOU'RE BUCKING RIGHT THAT I'M STRONGER THAN I LOOK!" The pony's head shot through the front door to say that, then left again.
"Geez, the nerve some ponies have these days." Rainbow rubbed her side again.
"Maybe I should consider..."
The pony came through the front door again, and Rainbow's lips curled into a smirk at the hope on the pegasus's face.
"Being even cooler and awesomer than I already am."
"That's it. YOU, MY RAINBOW COLORED PEGASUS, ARE GOING TO DIE SOON." She made a slicing motion at her throat with her hoof.
"SO STOP WITH THE EGOTISTICAL MANURE AND GET. A LIFE." With that the Pegasus stomped out of the shop, literally stomping her hooves loudly with each step.
"Ugh, brat." Rainbow brushed a part of her mane away from her face.
"Egotistical freak!" Three mares with white coats and blonde manes at the back shouted from the back of the bakery.
"Just because you've got a rainbow mane and is a pretty good flier doesn't mean you brag about every single achievement you get!" A gray pegasus with a blue mane flew up from the crowd to say his statement.
Pinkie knew that the situation was out of control. But before she could stop it...
BOOM!!!!!
A sudden explosion by the princesses caught everyone off guard. Celestia and Luna attempted to shield themselves from the blast with their wings, but that didn't stop the tablecloth setting on fire. Soon teh tablecloth was engulfed in flame, and another explosion took place. This time, by the wall.
The wall soon set on fire, and everypony ran out of the shop. Pinkie counted the guests as they left, but noticed soon after that one pony was missing.
"Oh no, where's Applebloom?!" Applejack yelled, frantically looking around for her younger sister. Pinkie turned back to the bakery, which was now engulfed in flames. Fire. A deadly weapon. One of the worst ways to die. Either you die of suffocation, of the heat, or by the building falling on top of you. Whichever comes first.
The bright fire. The deadly fire. Applebloom must be so scared...
Pinkie knew what must be done.
"...she's still in there. I must save her." Pinkie dashed off to the burning bakery.
"Pinkie, wait! It's too dangerous! Ya'll die in there!" But Applejack's warnings reach deaf ears. Everyone, including the princesses, stare in fear as Pinkie dashed towards the flaming building.
Pinkie jumps in through one of the broken windows, since one of the roof beams have blocked the entrance to the building. Trying to keep a low profile, she proceeds to weave her way through all of the fallen debris. Roof beams, shattered glass, it doesn't even look like the bakery on the inside anymore. Some marshmallows were feul for the fire here and there, an exploded cake was over there. It's just chaos. Chaos everywhere.
Pinkie manages to make out a "Somepony, heeeeeelp!!!!" through the fire crackling in her ears and singing her fur, mane, eyelashes and tail. She perks up at the sound of Applebloom's voice, knowing she had come close, but ducked back down after breathing in a cloud of smoke. This forced the earth pony into a coughing fit, putting her mission of hold for a few seconds. Pinkie managed to shake it off and struggle towards the SOS. Her journey was made even harder due to the fact that the debris was even more prominent here, and that she was constantly coughing.
But, when she spied a pink bow through the flames, she had to make it. She had to. Pinkie sped through the last of the debris, making her mane catch on fire in the process, but she forgot about it since another's life was on the line. She stood over a now unconscious Applebloom, so she grabbed her by the scruff of the neck the way a mother lioness would. Pinkie then tried to traverse her way back, but she couldn't. The debris had just became to thick to go through.
She mentally turned off physics, hoping that this would work, and leapt through the flames.
Pinkie went unconscious mid-air, but tumbled out of the front doors just as the building collapsed. All the ponies were too shocked to do anything, even Rainbow was shocked. But they were all relieved to see the two earth ponies tumble through the door. They took them to hospital, but Pinkie, somehow, was in a worse state than Applebloom. The yellow filly had many singed hairs, but her mane and fur was still there. Pinkie, on the other hoof, had lost half of her mane and tail, and patches of bare, burnt, light pink skin were there. They both had minor injuries, but they'll live.
"And that's how Equestria was made."
"Wait, Pinkie, you were just telling a different story entirely."
"I was? Oh well. Let me tell you about the time I turned Rainbow Dash into-"
"Nonononono, that won't be necessary. But, I must know, who smuggled the fireworks in in the first place?"
"Oh, it was caramel."
"Who now?"
"Caramel! Don't you know him?"
"No, not that I know of."
"Well, Caramel thought that the best time to set off the fireworks was when everypony was lashing out at Rainbow for being a narcissist."
"Aha, I see. But that was really heroic, risking your life for another's."
"It was nothing, really. I do that all the time."
"Oh, right."
"...."
"...."
"Oh, and my mane and fur grew back just fine. OOH! OOH! Want me to tell you about the time when Twilight first came to town, Cadence?"
"Oh, that one's a gem. I'd love to, Pinkie."
Author's Note
Wow, I made the story when I was, hyper, a long time ago... and I'm only writing it now? Sheesh, I have way to many WIPs to complete.
Hopwfully I can get over this writers block soon.
People, hope that you never have to experience writers block.
Also... Major Rainbow hate here... I blame my day at school. I'm never writing Rainbow again.
Oh, and I need to read gore. I need gore NAOW.
