For centuries, the grove where the Tree of Harmony had grown stood in peace, rarely disturbed. The spirit of chaos Discord might well be the only one being in all of Equestria who remembers where it came from.
For centuries, the grove where the Tree of Harmony had grown stood in peace, rarely disturbed. Nopony remembers how the ancient tree came to be. Its existence predates any sentient being currently alive.
Almost every sentient being that is. The spirit of chaos Discord might well be as ancient. One could say Discord and the Tree of Harmony are old friends, or at least acquaintances.
