it takes a lot of planning for Zecora to rhyme!
The following is a lovely, fast-crafted story
of friendship and kindness, and all of its glory.
Come. Have a read, take seat, and stay awhile!
While you're here, we might just yank out a smile!
A pink pony threw a party of proportion
and such magnitude as to cause perceptive contortion
in the minds of the ponies who deigned to take part,
but leaving laughter in each warm, pony heart.
They bet and they raved and they grinned and they danced
while their hot pink host jumped for joy as she pranced
through the festivities her cutie mark had recently wrought
in the Cakes' freshly-cleaned bakery, whether they liked it or not!
As each pony left Sugarcube Corner that night,
everypony walked home under Luna's moonlight,
laughing, taunting, and having a good time
before listening to a story being told with a rhyme.
Nopony knew where the narrator came from,
but why would you care? Nopony's as dumb
as to challenge Pinkie Pie if they have a choice.

On the next beautiful Equestrian day,
the element of laughter stood to walk away.
Nopony asked her what she planned to do.
If anyone had, she'd say, "Oh, nothing new!"
There were no questions, for all where weak and tired
and Pinkamena Pie was giddy, hyper and wired.
With joy in her heart and a bounce in her step,
Pinkie left all her marefriends as they stayed and slept.
Pinkie Pie stopped and wondered "Why do ponies sleep?
Why ARE they sleeping? I never need a peep!"
She pondered in a way absentminded and crass
with her wall-breaking speech and her breathtaking sass.
Ran through the streets did the pony in pink
like a deluge of obnoxious, brilliant ink.
Nopony saw her, for none were awake;
Not a second from Ponyville her departure would take.
Out of the limits she ran with a Zip,
the balloons of her mark bouncing on her hip,
the wind pulled her eyes back into their sockets
and her hooves moved as fast as pink party rockets.
Her legs ran faster; as fast as they could.
he let her legs take her wherever they would.
Ran did Pinkamena, the rosy mare of laughter,
'til the speed of light coveted and wished that it was faster!
She ran 'til she couldn't, 'til her legs had to stop,
which is actually really funny, because Pinkie never stops!
Soon she would be in a place far away,
where nopony smiled for even one day.
She came to a town that didn't have a name;
It sat in the woods, and was always the same.
Only one lived there: A colt named "Muffin."
She asked him what he did, and he replied, "Nuffin."
Pinkie was shocked, dumbstruck, and dumbfounded
at the way this boring pony had really just sounded.
It was as if he truly never had fun,
ever heard a song or played a game; Not one.
Pinkie Pie asked Muffin what he always did.
He said, "This home of mine is very well hid;
Nopony should have found it, and I've done nothing wrong,
so why must you stay here and talk for so long?"
The ponies exchanged words; They said 'this and that.'
For moment after moment in awkwardness they sat
'til the feeling her Muffin couldn't bear for one moment more;
It was this kind of drama he had learned to abhor.
Said Muffin, "What if I asked you to walk a mile with me?"
Said Laughter, "I'd want you to laugh, and smile with me!"
Muffin simply nodded, and blankly said, "Sure,"
agreeing with Pinkie a smile to endure.
For minutes those two friends casually walked,
and for the first quarter mile, neither pony talked.
Pinkie said, "Muffin, we're almost half way!"
Muffin said, "Pinkie, I'll do it, okay?"
Those ponies then walked for another half mile
'til Pinkie asked Muffin, "When will you smile?"
Pinkie Pie frowned, for nothing had Muffin said;
He simply kept walking and hanging his head.
Soon, Muffin stopped and so did his friend.
His suspicion of her was coming to an end.
He asked, "Why do you want me to smile, oh why?
Why is it so important to you, Pinkie Pie?"
Pinkie sat back, and for a moment she thought.
Then she said, "It's a good thing, Muffin, so why not?
A memory lasts forever; for forever and a day,
and a smile is a fun one... So just do it, okay?"
Muffin frowned sadly, but Pinkie only stared.
He wondered if this pony actually cared.
He thought, "Why, oh why, is it this I must bear?
Doesn't this mare have friends? Any place, anywhere?"
Muffin didn't know what he had been missing 'til now,
and he would never know why or ever know how.
Still, for the better, his world would be turned;
Through all his loneliness, some respite he had earned.
It was truly a surprise; Muffin had no clue
how much a grin or a smile could do.
He would be knocked off his hooves by the realization:
Nothing could compare to a smile's sensation.
Muffin swallowed his pride and finally gave in;
Across that colts face was the dumbest of grins.
It was a smile that said, "I'll never be bored,"
and Pinkamena's heart exploded and soared.
Muffin said, "Wow! Is this how you live?
With a smile on your face and not a care to give?
Have my eyes been closed without my knowing
that life is a bore without a smile showing?"
Pinkie Pie hugged him, and without saying why
turned and said, "Don't be sad, Muffin! This isn't goodbye!"
Before the colt could utter but one single word,
the pony in pink flew away like a bird.
This was just a joyful, fast-crafted story
of friendship and kindness, and all of its glory.
If you ever feel like nopony has it quite as bad as you,
you might be surprised at what a smile can do!
