Pain. If there was one word to describe how much pain I feel right now then someone should be fired because this is worse. Luckily the pain began slowly to numb, to the point where I could move.
"Wha....wha...t...happened" I finally choked out "Hello? anyone here?" Looking around I could see that I was lying in the street with no one in sight. But what was strange is that it was a dust road, not one of the tarmac roads from London. Funnier still was the design on some of these buildings, one looked like a cake for Christ sake. Looking down I could see that a huge crack was originating from the dirt underneath me. Reminding myself to help clean that up ASAP I continued to study the village I found myself in and surprisingly I could make out a few fires here and there. Confused I climbed up to my feet and walked over to the nearest inferno... and instantly I regretted it, It smelt horrible, like a rusted iron covered in mucus. I could even see what looked to be a red eye in the orange flames. Depriving my eyes from the fire I saw a building, if you can even call it that. It was a great tree with a giant oak door and several windows, the strange thing was that hovering above the door in a purple-ish aura was a canvas with the words "SURVIVORS INSIDE" painted on.
"Survivors?"I muttered under my breath. Survivors of what? war? infection? All these questions made me more and more unnerved and I decided that I have nothing to lose and walked up to the tree. Knocking on the door I waited patiently and after a few moments the door opens slightly.
"Hello?" I heard a young boy ask "Who are you and why aren't you dead?"
"My name is Paul, as for the second question I have no idea what you're talking about."I replied
"You'd better come in, and be quiet, they can hear us." The voice said. As the door opened fully I could see who was talking to me,or rather what was talking to me because before me stood what looked to be a young dragon. I stood there for several seconds letting my mind process what was before me. Then everything went black.
I stood in a inky black void with the ground below me being a pale white. All around me I saw people but something was wrong with them. All of their eyes were unnaturally red but the worst part was the amount of blood that was spewing from their mouth.
"Paul?"
They were getting closer and closer to me
"Paul?"
They were screaming in an horrible tone
"PAUL!" cried a voice and I felt myself being shaken to consciousness. My vision was blurry and dark but the voice that cried was obviously female.
"Where am I? What was that lizard thing and why are you a purple blur...in fact why can't I see anything?" I asked confused.
