Time With the Wife (Unedited)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterOnce we’d all said our hellos, Luna took Alexander off to the war room for the two of them to draw up the most efficient plans they could with the information Alexander had on-hand at this point. I was then left alone in a small study that I often visited when I was in the mood to be alone, read up on something, or other stupid shit I did to occupy my time. The room wasn’t a large one, being no bigger than five-by-five and containing a single bookshelf and a desk, but it was good enough for me.
I took a seat and stared out the single window in the room, watching the snow gently float down to the ground outside, letting my mind wander to places other than here. I thought about home, mostly. Thought about everything that would’ve changed in the time I’d been gone. Hell, it wasn’t just the fact that I had a new sister, Grael had gotten stronger, and a lot of my little spermies were running around the castle and getting older without me being around, it was the state of the world itself. What were country relations like? What happened to Illvana after the events in Winter’s Maw? What the hell was the sapphire chalice?
I had so many questions I wanted to ask, but knew they had to wait until I was done here. Though from the little quest I’d embarked on, it was easy to see that I wasn’t going home for a long while. I was never the kind to feel homesick, but half a decade away from the place I grew up in was starting to take its toll on my spirit. I hadn’t seen my mother or my aunts for half a decade, hasn’t seen my wolf-brother or my other near-brother, Zane. He could’ve gotten married by now, could be wheeling around his own wheelbarrow of kids this very minute.
I was out of the loop and it was only starting to affect me now. I closed my eyes, mentally reaching out for Grael, trying to use him as a lightning rod for social contact, to see if I could get him to talk to Mom for me, let me talk to Mom through him. I missed her so much. More than anyone else. It didn’t feel right without her around, it felt awkward and unnatural. It wasn’t like my dad being gone. It had gotten to the point where my dad had spent more years of my life away than he had with me. I used to be upset about it when I was younger, but now I realised that all it did for me was open up a space next to Mom in bed.
I tried reaching for Grael again, but it seemed that his boost in telepathic range wasn’t a shared one. Instead of the usual warm hum I felt in the base of my skull when I used our link, it was nothing more than a hollow feeling, as if I’d had my brain scooped out of my skull, as if a crucial piece of my consciousness was missing. I felt lonely for some reason.
I felt alone.
I leaned back in my chair, resting my fingers on my lap as I stared into nothing, the world melting away behind me as I explored the emptiness that occupied my head at this point, wondering where this bout of sadness and loneliness had come from. I’d never felt like this for five years, so why now all of a sudden? What had kicked off the feelings of homesickness that hadn’t been a thing since I got here? Was it because I’d actually spoken to them? To Grael? Maybe it was because I’d been exposed to him and felt his company again that I’d been reminded of what it felt like.
Maybe that was it. After all: the snow is always colder when you’ve been sitting by the fire.
“Richter?” I heard Svea’s concerned voice in my head. “Whatever’s the matter? I can feel you getting buried in sadness.”
“Svea?” I asked in confusion. “Are you talking through Grael right now?”
“No, Dearest. This is our own, personal link that was formed during our mating ritual,” Svea answered. “We’re connected in a similar way you are to Grael, only more intimately.”
“That’s… pretty neat,” I nodded, my very soul warming up at hearing her voice again.
“Indeed it is. My mother had a saying for this kind of connection,” she laughed. “‘The heart calls farther than the voice ever could.’ She meant is as a way to say that even if we’re too far apart to speak to one another vocally, our love will always keep us connected.”
“Stop it. You’re making me blush,” I chuckled. “Your mother sounds like a wise woman.”
“She is, when she’s not being a crotchety old hag,” Svea commented. “Did I mention that I had to wrestle Ceralia away from her to make sure she didn’t spend her first thirty years training to be a High Priestess?”
“No, you didn’t.” I said, a flare of paternal anger kicking up in my chest.
“Then I’ll tell you now: it was a pain in the ass to convince her to allow Ceralia to live with us,” Svea said, the sound of her eyes rolling as she spoke not audible, but still transmitted nonetheless. “And don’t even get me started with the fuss she kicked up when I told her you weren’t a dragon.”
“I’m guessing she didn’t take it very well?” I asked.
“That’s putting it far too lightly,” Svea growled. “She read me the riot act because of it: “Do you know how many hard-working, purebred dragons you could’ve picked? Thirrendel’s boy just managed to gore a Leviathan and he’s not even forty years old yet. Misshendel’s boy has amassed the largest treasure horde in the West Bhuties. But you decide to go with some foot-tall palooka that wouldn’t know what a real dragon was if it sat on his face!’”
“Sounds like a fun conversation,” I chuckled. “I’m gonna guess she doesn’t like me?”
“That’s putting it lightly,” Svea acknowledged. “It may take some time and some heavy-duty ass-kissing, but I think you might be able to turn her opinion around.”
“Would it help if I knocked your sister up as well?” I asked.
“I think you’d break her poor, old heart,” Svea sniggered. “Mother is as loyal to her ideals as she is to her prejudices, and to have both of her prize daughters seeded by the same ‘foot-tall palooka’ might just do her in.”
“I’m quite surprised that there’s no protest for me fucking Suomi,” I said, cocking an eyebrow. “Even the most open-minded girls I’ve met have always gotten a little grumpy when I sleep with their sister.”
“Richter, I’d wouldn’t have a problem if you fucked her right in front of me, knocked her up, and spent the rest of the day explaining to me how good it felt,” Svea said in a calm expression.
“And why’s that?” I asked.
“Because I’d simply sit there, listen to everything she did for you, and prove that I’m better at it,” Svea said in a seductive tone. “A dog may take treats from many different people, but nobody gives belly rubs better than it’s master.”
“Stop it. I’m getting excited here,” I said jokingly. “It’s a shame we don’t have a mental sexual link, isn’t it?”
“I think it’s a benefit, to be honest,” Svea responded. “If we could link minds and go off and fuck in some mental plane of existence, I don’t think we’d ever get anything done. I hate being away from you and your love as it is. I don’t think I could control myself if I could fuck you mentally.”
“I’m so happy that you’re revealing your much more depraved side the better I get to know you,” I said with a happy sigh. “It makes me feel special.”
“If you’ve had any in-depth conversations with Luna or Celestia, you’d know that the older and more bored with regular sex a person gets, the freakier they become,” Svea responded.
“That’s good to know,” I nodded. “Maybe when I get back I can get the qualification your mother wants me to get by having a real dragon sit on my face?”
“I like the sound of that very much,” Svea giggled. “Though I’ll have to be careful. I don’t wanna suffocate you.”
“To be honest, I can’t think of a better way to die,” I said in a truthful manner. “Except maybe having your sister dickriding the other end of me at the same time.”
“Thinking about that makes me imagine a really fucked up family insignia,” Svea commented. “Like having the usual ‘two-animals-facing-towards-each-other-with-some-kind-of-crest-underneath-them’ kind of insignia.”
“I’d be the proudest fucking clan leader in the world if that was my insignia,” I laughed.
“As would I… but speaking of clans,” Svea said, growing serious. “When can Ceralia expect to see her Papa?”
“I’m not sure,” I answered, feeling slightly guilty about the delay there’d be in meeting my daughters. “It depends how long the job I’m doing now takes.”
“Estimates?” Svea asked. “I’d like to know how much longer I have to keep a heated wineskin next to me while I sleep.”
“Don’t say that, it makes me feel bad,” I said in a guilty tone.
“Then come home to me. We’ve been apart for far too long,” she said.
“I can’t. I’ve already booted a hornet’s nest in this city and need to be the one to settle it down again,” I said with a sigh. “I shouldn’t be longer than a month, I promise.”
“Don’t promise,” Svea said. “If you’re not sure, then tell me you’re not sure. I’d rather not keep burning through lantern oil waiting up for you every night you’re late.”
“Please stop. You’re killing me right now,” I begged.
“I know. But in all seriousness: take as long as you have to, but expect to be bedridden next to me for every day I feel like you were gone too long.” Svea said. “You’ll be on a sex ban, of course. Punishment standards.”
“And how long will that be for?”
“For about as long as I can keep myself off you. And after not having your cock in me for five years, you’ll be lucky if you can get through the door,” Svea said.
“Not even gonna wait to get to the bedroom?” I asked.
“Nope. I’ll pin you down and fuck you in the foyer if I have to,” Svea promised. “Then I can show everyone how much I love you.”
“Huh. I haven’t fucked anyone in public for a few years now,” I said, rolling the idea around for a few moments.
“There is a certain rush to it, isn’t there?” Svea asked, lust in her voice. “What gets me off the most is the fact that people act so disgusted, but still don’t stop watching.”
“Honey, you are a freak,” I laughed.
“And don’t you forget it,” Svea said with a seductive purr. “So, do I need to leave you to whatever terrible job you’re doing?”
“Not really,” I said in a softer tone. “If it’s okay with you, I just wanna sit here and feel you a little longer.”
“Of course, My Love,” Svea said, her voice warm and loving.“I’ll sit here with you for as long as you need me to.”
As the two of us fell silent, I felt the warmth of our connection increase. I was warmed from head to toe by the vibrant, loving waves Svea poured onto me and I knew it was the same for her, the connection making me borderline love-drunk to the point of feeling so close and so in love with her that I could almost feel her warm embrace, holding me close to her heart and emitting adoration from every inch of her body.
