//-------------------------------------------------------// Equestrian Elseworlds: The Five Spikes -by Equestrian Ghost- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue (Edited) //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue (Edited) Spike's Journal October 12th, 2015 3 years in the nuthouse.... and by the nuthouse I mean Ponyville. As to why I ended up here, it was becuase mom sent me here along with Twilight, most likely to begin my journey or something like that: boy was she wrong. The first thing a mother would say when telling someone who will be in charge of their foal are the typical pointers: 1. Make sure he grows nice and healthy, but don't overfeed him. 2. If he's going to help you, don't overwork him. 3. Enroll him in a good school. 4. Make sure he makes friends. That was accompanied with a brown paper bag that contained a cookie and apple juice. Also, I got a kiss on the forehead from my mom, telling me to be a good little drake and help Twilight as much as possible. That was then; this was now.  Let me resume the problems, all to avoid the monologue that could lead me to participating in an odd contest hosted by a stallion named Calypso. The first was Applejack and how she just ignored me when I asked her if she needed help, which made me feel useless to others. Fluttershy was a contradiction of fear, having no problem in hanging out with me but fearing all other dragons, not fulfilling her promise to Rainbow Dash. Speaking of the gay pride, she made fun of the fact that I still didn't have my wings, with the nickname: "lame dragon", Continuing, the party-planner named Pinkie Pie had made a laughingstock out of me with the pranks she pulled off, sometimes with the help of Rainbow Dash. Twilight Sparkle didn't live up to her responsibility. Instead, I had to take care of her, I was overworked, I haven't gone to school since I moved to Ponyille and I had no friends. And Rarity? Well, she hasn't noticed my feelings for her, pretty much killing my chances with her. Let me make things clear, as to not confuse you all: sent with Twilight, I'm taking care of her instead of her taking care of me, and her friends are contradictions of their elements. Pretty ironic, isn't it? Also, I made a Twisted Metal reference a couple lines earlier in the journal. I felt like Mr. Grimm due to the slight mind twists, and Sweet Tooth due to the upcoming rage. I knew I was going to snap, but I would dishonor my mother, which reminded me of something else. Discord told me of a song that was sung by those who needed help in a desperate manner. He said that anyone who knew of it could sing it, but the song's magic only reacted to those who really deserved it. Well, let's see if I was fit for the song's power. I better stop writing, Twilight may call me out soon. -Spike As I put my journal under my blankets, I walked out of the basement, hearing that there was nobody around, and I took a deep breath, beginning to sing: The King and his men stole the queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones. The seas be ours, and by the powers; where we will, we'll roam. "Spike, please order the new books!" Twilight yelled, as she left the castle. It was at this moment where I thought someone else was singing along. Yo ho, all hands, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars; never shall we die. A third voice, also a fourth voice were now singing, I didn't know where in Tartarus was it coming from. Yo ho haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars; never shall we die! Time had passed, it was already nighttime. I was sure that the song didn't work, and I was already tired after today's work. Grabbing a sapphire and taking a bite out of it, I begin my way up the stairs. I felt as if it didn't work, but beggars couldn't be choosers, so I guess that it was a matter of time. I fell asleep, and in the dreamland, I heard several voices as I saw myself in a room full of mirrors. Boy I could swear that I saw myself in forms that weren't those of a dragon's. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: The Dragon Knight //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: The Dragon Knight Unknown location I walked at a snail's pace through the front door of the abandoned hotel turned home for the past two years now. I had just gotten back from a mission. It wasn't hard by any extent, but the five hour-long motorcycle ride on an uncomfortable seat had completely drained me. "Well don't you look drained." A voice gets my attention. I look up to see Mist, one of my best friends and second in command of the team. He was lounging in the loft while sharping his two-handed sword with a grindstone. "Rough mission?" "Hardly," I answered with a roll of my eyes. "It wasn't even a real Manticore. It turned out that it was a bunch of local teens playing a prank on the town with a Manticore costume." "Well considering that we and our friends sometimes do for fun that is pretty normal." Mist comments. "At least it was easy money." "Not exactly..." I rubbed at the back of my neck as I left the sentence to hang. "What happened?" Mist asked, but I could tell by his deadpanned tone that he already knew what I was going to say. "I couldn't take all of the bounty since it wasn't a real Manticore. So I only took about forty percent of the reward money." "You're too nice sometimes." Mist shook his head with a small smile on his face at his friend and leader's action. "Probably, so anything happened while I was gone?" "Not really, everyone is either on a mission or on their way back for one. I'll be heading out to take care of a bandit problem and meet up with Zero in an hour. Though there was something in the mail for you." Mist grabbed a letter from the table standing next to me and tossed it to me with a flick of his wrist. I grabbed it midair with ease. I looked at the return address to see that it was my mom's secret fake address. I quickly opened it to see what she wanted. Basically there was a festival being held in Ponyville where both Celestia and Luna were attending and she wanted me to come as well along with any members of the team if they wanted to come. She also mentioned that I should talk with the Elements of Harmony. I couldn't help but sigh at that last piece of information. It looked like his adoptive mother was trying to get him and the girls to make up. At first he didn't want to go, but he gave it more thought. It has been more than two years since they last seen or talked to each other and it didn't end on a good note. He would admit that his actions aided to the sour ending. The least he could do see them again. Though I was going to make any promises about us actually making up. According to the letter the festive is about three weeks away. Plenty of time to prepare and I could ask everyone if they want to come during our weekly meeting. "I'll be up in my room taking a nap if you need me." I told my friend as I made my way to the elevator. As I rode it to my floor I couldn't help but think back on how my new life got started all because of a mistake and betrayal by the Elements of Harmony. It was hard at first, but I kept on going and look at me now. I'm living in an hotel with my twelve friends, in a three way relationship with two amazing girls (surprisingly it was their idea), discovered abilities and magic I didn't know I was capable of, and I'm living the life of excitement and adventure that I always wanted. A part of me wished that we left on better terms, but maybe we can make up as long as they don't try to make me stay in Ponyville forever. I've made a happy life for myself and I'm not going to give it up just because they want to go back to my former home. As I walked out of the elevator I hear a voice sing out the lyrics to a familiar song: The King his men stole the queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones. The seas be ours, and by the powers; where we will, we'll roam. 'Wait, isn't that the song Discord told me about before?' I thought to myself. 'How did it go again?' I sang the next part of the song in perfect time with the voice. Yo, ho, all hands, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars; never shall we die! Rest of the song was sang by us with two new additions joining in. Yo, ho, all hands, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars; never shall we die! It was quiet for a while as I wait for something to happen. After waiting a couple and nothing happening I shrugged my shoulder and went to my room. It was kind of a let-out. When something like that happens usually something interesting follows. Though that could have just been me going crazy for a minute. Considering who my friends are it isn't that far of a stretch. I went into my room to see that all was where I lift it, including some new weapons I've been meaning to clean and repair. I notice that Blaze, my phoenix wasn't in the room, probably out for another hunt or something. Deciding to take care of the pile of weapons after my nap I fell onto my bed. It didn't take more than a minute for me to be out like a light. //-------------------------------------------------------// Of Duels and Dragons //-------------------------------------------------------// Of Duels and Dragons Of Duels and Dragons Academy Island, off the coast of Japan, Asia, Earth I love these girls, they've been with me since I got here. What exactly do I mean? Well my friends, I died, only to resurrect in another dimension. I now have a life here, and this is barely my third month in this world. Yes, I feel like Sweet Tooth when he's talking about his ice cream truck, and you could say that the girls were my ice cream truck. "Good morning Spike!" Mana said, hugging me. When it comes to the joy-bringer of the group, it's Mana, also known as the Dark Magician Girl. She was trained by Mahaad, also known as the Dark Magician. With a height that barely reached my chin, she was quite a good person to spend time with. "Well if it isn't the lovers," Burst said, walking in. Blue-skinned woman with a fiery attitude, Burstinatrix was the serious one. She hails from Skyscraper, and she is not to be messed with when she is with her fellow Elemental Heroes. As for her real name, nobody knows, and I barely reached her eyes. "Oh stop it Burst, you had a relationship with Avian. Besides, Mana and Spike aren't dating!" Yubel said, as she entered. Now Yubel was a whole other story: beautiful woman until the transformation, but that didn't matter to me. She had been there for me before Mana, Burst, and even before Twilight (when she played her role as my 'guardian'). Yeah, Yubel and I were like Ebony and Ivory, two of a kind, misfits in their own cases. I know it is a favoritism of sorts, but she has been with me 4 of my 17 years and, since I was born on May 13th, 1988, I am quite happy. I still miss my mom and my Equestrian friends, but I have made new friends here. I occasionally hang out with Syrus and Bastian, given that Chumley was given a job at Industrial Illusions due to his incredible drawing skills. I also hang out with Misty, Jasmine and Alexis, the last one having caught my eye. I know it may be quick, but I'm giving it time, focusing on school and my two jobs. "Well girls, I must go to the Obelisk Girls' Dorm for the weekly masseur sessions," I said, putting my masseur uniform on. I know that a man giving a woman a massage is forbidden on campus, but after a short massage on Fonda, the word spread like fire. After a demand of sorts, I was granted the job of massaging each girl in the Obelisk dorm once a week. Lucky man, aren't I? "Be good Spike," Mana said, smiling. "Don't put your hands in the wrong places," Burst said, a glare on her face. "Just keep the good massages going," Yubel said, smiling softly. With that, I began my short walk to the dorm, prepared to attend four of the thirty-one women in the dorm. Once I got there, I walked past the guards, who stepped aside once I showed my permit. "Hello Spike!" Fonda said in her cheerful tone. Yeah kids, I had to give her a massage, but the massages I gave were standard: neck, shoulders, back and legs, nothing more. This was pretty much a win-win: the women of the Obelisk dorm would get weekly massages. I in exchange, had my meals covered. I saw the massaging more like help than an advantage over the other men. "Hello Miss Fontaine, shall we get to this week's session?" I asked. "Why of course, I've been stressed out this week training the Ra Yellow for the baseball game." "Bastian has science, so you have an advantage Miss Fontaine." "There is no need to call me like that Spike, we are not in class. You may call me Fonda." Achievement unlocked: from student to colleague. I was going the distance in a sense. Only thing missing is Crowler letting me address him by his name. Fonda and I got to the massage room, and we begun the hour-long session. The session consisted on getting rid of the uneven parts that had come up, and then relaxing the muscles of each woman. As I finished the first massage, I walked out of the room, expecting the next girl. What I got instead was an odd voice singing an old song they taught me. The King and his men stole the queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones. The seas be ours, and by the powers; where we will, we'll roam. I joined in, singing the second part of the song. Yo ho, all hands, hoist the colors high. Then, a third voice joined us. Heave ho, thieves and beggars; Then, a fourth voice formed part of the singing. never shall we die. Finally, a fifth song began singing, and I sung with all my spirit. Yo ho haul together, hoist the colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars; never shall we die! As it finished, Yubel came in, worried look on her face, telling me the following: "The song, it's-" "Been sung, somebody needs help," the reaper told me. My question was the following: who? "Who on Earth could need me?" I asked him. "You might as well fix that, someone in Equestria needs you." "And that would be?" "Yourself." "I don't get it, how could I need myself?" "Picture a clone of yourself, somewhere in space and time. You are a clone as well, along with several others. The song was made to help those in need, and apparently, someone's in trouble." "Oh, ok... this is some kind of Doctor Whooves stuff though, how am I going to get to the clone?" "I can help you my friend," the reaper said, as he whistled. A few seconds later, a horse on fire arrived, and the reaper got on the horse. It took me a while to realize that it was the Reaper on the Nightmare. Right after he got on, Mana got on the Red-Eyes B. Dragon. I don't know how she did it,mouth she now had a silver armor. "Get on, we don't have much time!" Mana yelled in a cheerful way. I got on along with Yubel and Burst, the last one had warped in. I was now in front, and I felt how some green flames enveloped me, and we took off behind the reaper. After several seconds of flight we reached a portal and went through it. Boy would you believe where we ended up at.
