Chapter 1: Ponyville

Previous Chapter

Daniel shot up out of his bed with a scream at his dream. It was enough to startle his brother out of bed, "Whoa, Daniel are you all right? You're drenched in sweat. Did you have the dream again?" Morty asked.

"Um, no. Uh, hey, so when are you guys leaving?" Daniel asked.

Looking at the clock, Morty looked back to Daniel, "Just a couple of hours," Morty replied.

"Ok. Man, I think its cool that you're taking Georgia to Ponyville, Home of the Guardians! I can't believe you guys have dating for ten years!" Daniel exclaimed.

"Yeah, Georgia wanted to do something special for our anniversary, and she's always wanted to go visit a town in the country," Morty explained.

Yeah, but be sure to send me a postcard," Daniel told his brother.

"Oh, yeah, I can't do that buddy," Morty said. Daniel became crestfallen.

"But, Morty," Daniel started, but was cut off.

"Because, you're coming with us!" Morty exclaimed, pulling out a third ticket. Daniel was completely overjoyed.

"Oh Morty, I can't believe it!" Daniel exclaimed, before remembering something, "But what about Georgia?" he asked.

"She's fine with it. She said 'the more the merrier',"  Morty replied. Daniel was still at a loss for words.

"Oh Morty, I can't believe this! Ponyville is the home of most of the Guardians!" Daniel exclaimed, as Morty went into the bathroom.

"We'd better get a move on. We don't want to miss that train," Morty called.

"No sir. Who knows? Maybe we'll meet some of the Guardians!" Daniel exclaimed.

"I wouldn't get your hopes buddy. There hasn't been any activity, even from the Fujiyama brothers, and those guys are practically superheroes," Morty explained.

"Oh well, there is still that possibility, you know," Daniel said, as he brushed his teeth. After getting their stuff all packed, the exited their house.

"Hey Daniel, can you take the luggage to the train station? I'll go and pick up Georgia," Morty asked.

"No problem," Daniel replied, as he took his brothers suitcase, and made his way to the train station.

Meanwhile in an office building...

An elevator had come up in front of a large, almost vacant office room, as two humans exited the elevator. They were Pavilion and Krusha, the evil twins of Joshua and Nathan, respectively. They approached a menacing looking desk and chair. Sitting in the chair was the same human who had masqueraded as Toby many years ago to steal the Royal Jewels.

"You wanted to see us George?" Pavilion asked.

Looking at his cohorts, George nodded, "Yes. I have been thinking of a plan on how we can fulfill my Father's dying wish," George replied, as he handed his friends some papers. Looking at the papers, the two of them became confused.

"What does this place have to do with your plan?" Krusha asked.

"Simple, comrade. It will be a win-win for us. Not only will we get revenge on those Guardians, but we will have enough magic power to summon my Father back from the grave. After that, we can proceed to turning this dump of a kingdom into a magic-less waste land," George replied, as an curvy human woman came in.

"And we all want our revenge on those Guardians for putting us in prison all those years ago, and now we finally have a chance," Shadow Mavis said, as she wrapped her arms around George.

"Ok, but how does this building help us in the plan?" Pavilion asked. Everyone in the room, even Shadow Mavis looked at him curiously.

"Oh, you'll see, guys. Watch and learn..." George smiled evilly.

On route to Ponyville...

"Hey Morty, what should we do first when we get to Ponyville? Because I was thinking we could start at Sweet Apple Acres, no wait! The lines might be shorter at Carousel Boutique, so maybe we should start there. I just can't wait!" Daniel exclaimed excitedly.

"Simmer down Daniel. Try to hold your excitement until we get there," Morty said, as he had his arm around his girlfriend, Georgia. Georgia was a medium height young woman, with long flowing blonde hair and green eyes, "You don't mind his excitement, do you?" Morty asked.

"Not at all. Just as long as we can spend our anniversary dinner together, that's all I ask," Georgia replied.

"Anything for you darling," Morty said, as he and Georgia kissed. Just then the train came to a stop.

"Ponyville Station!" the conductor called. With that, the three of them departed the train, and beheld the town of Ponyville.

"Oh, wow! Ponyville, I-I can't believe it!" Daniel exclaimed, as they got off the platform.

"Hey Daniel, why don't you get a head start of sight-seeing? Georgia and I are going to go look for a hotel," Morty said to his brother.

"Alright, I'll meet back up with you two later," Daniel said, as he gave his suitcase to Morty, and took off. As soon as he took off, he stopped to see something ahead. It looked to be a bakery that was decorated to look like a gingerbread house, that was all boarded up. Looking at the sign, Daniel read "Sugarcube Corner." He saw that the door was not boarded up like the windows. With an exceptional amount of curiosity, Daniel snuck in. He was amazed at the inside of the building. It was built just like a bakery and candy store. He then noticed some pictures on the walls. When he got a good look at them, his eyes widened. They were pictures of each of the Guardians, each celebrating different occasions, "Oh wow! No wonder this place sounded familiar," Daniel said in awe. Just then, he heard the back door rattling. He knew that meant someone was coming. He quickly ducked under a nearby booth table.

"And this is Sugarcube Corner, where the Guardians all got sweets," a lanky orange stallion with a green mane and tail, and snails cutie mark said as he and another, shorter teal stallion with an orange mane and tail with a scissors cutie mark entered, followed by a trio of hooded figures.

"Well, as you know, our boss has been a really big fan of the Guardian's for a long time. And he feels that to honor them would be to turn this place into a Guardian Museum," one of the hooded figures said. Daniel gasped softly in awe.

"And here is the paperwork for the building, that includes..." the teal stallion started.

"The deed to this property," another hooded figure said.

"Exactly. Now this deed is 100% ironclad, with one minor exception. if the guardians can raise the 1,000,000,000 bits it would take to save this old place, then they claim full ownership of it," the teal stallion said.

"You know Snips, if I didn't know any better, I thought you were reciting some sort of important plot point," the lanky stallion commented.

"I hope so Snails, otherwise I just bored half the audience to death," Snips stated.

"You mean half the audience is still alive?" the two stallions shared in a chuckle, as they left. No sooner then they left, the hooded figures took off their hoods. Daniel was shocked to see Pavilion, Krusha, and Shadow Mavis. Krusha took out a tablet.

"George, we did it! We got the deed!" Krusha said. Daniel was still in shock. He knew the name George as one of Toby's greatest adversaries.

"Good work, all of you. In two weeks, we'll tear that miserable waste dump to the ground, and then phase two can begin. Ah, those 'Guardians'. They think they're so high and mighty. Well, looks like we'll be getting the last laugh," George said, as all four of them shared in a maniacal laugh. Daniel, meanwhile, was still processing what he had just heard, and snuck out of the nearby window, before being spotted by anyone.

"BWWAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Daniel screamed at the top of his lungs. Morty and Georgia saw him running like a maniac, screaming at the top of his lungs.

"Daniel!" Morty called, but was not heard by Daniel, as the panicking fan raced through out Ponyville, still screaming at the top of his lungs. He kept screaming, even back at the hotel the three of the were staying at.

After Daniel finally stopped screaming, he explained what he had heard to his brother and his girlfriend, "And then, when they thought they were alone, I heard George's voice coming out of a tablet. He was all, 'I'm gonna get revenge on those guardians see? I'm gonna tear down Sugarcube Corner, see? Sweet, sweet destruction, see?'," Daniel said, imitating George's voice like a gangster.

"People still talk like that?" Georgia asked.

"Maybe that's how he sounded in my head. Anyway, we need to find the Guardians! They'll know what to do," Daniel said.

"Well, how do we find them? Nobody has seen any of them in years," Georgia asked. Daniel saw something.

"Hold on, I've got an idea!" he stated.

15 minutes later...

The three of them were happily munching away on some carrot dogs, "Mmm, these are delicious," Georgia exclaimed.

"Great idea Daniel," Morty said, taking a bite out of his carrot dog.

Night fell on the town, as the three continued to look for any clues as to the whereabouts of the Guardians, "Daniel, its getting late. Maybe we should go back to the hotel," Morty suggested.

"But Morty, if we don't find the Guardians, their favorite hangout will be torn to shreds!" Daniel exclaimed.

"We understand that Daniel, but we've been searching for clues for three hours," Georgia said.

"Are you looking for the guardians?" a voice said.

The three turned to look to see a shadow.

"Who are you?" Daniel asked.

"That doesn't matter. You want to find the Guardians, right?" the shadow said.

"Right." Daniel agreed.

"Well, go to the Everfree Forest. The house next to the entrance is where one of them still lives. The others went their separate ways a while back."

"Ok. Thanks for the watch!" Morty called, as the three rushed off to Fluttershy's house.

'Hopefully those three can help Toby and the others defeat George,', the mysterious figure thought to himself.
