Regretting the Past, Continueing in a Dream
Hallway Walks & Midnight Talks
The Canterlot Castle. A thousands and thousands of years old building. Known for it's ginormous ball rooms with the most beautiful of decorations, it's marvelous gardens, filled with so many types of plants and different exotic animals, the maze in the entrance of the castle filled with so many statues important in Equestrian history, it's high quality defence with all the thousands of guards from all three races, the amazing pastries the chefs provide for almost every big event, the chorus, the luxurious bedrooms, the amazing views, even the tower, one of the bigest defence for Equestria, the Elements of Harmony, are being stored, and lots and lots of more amazing things were hidden in this castle. Only a certain Princess of the Night wasn't really around durring it's first construction. Actually, the first time she ever stepped in that castle was a few days ago, after the celebration for her reformation.
Light hoofsteps could be heard on the marble floors of the Castle hallway. A dark blue alicorn was passing the halls in the late hours. For these few days after every dinner, Princess Luna tended to roam around the Canterlot Palace trying to indentify and get familiar with her new home. As she turned around the corner she saw another long hallway on the end of which was a big double door with the emblem of a sun above it. On each side of the doors there was standing a stallion guard. Both as white as snow with dark blue mane and faces still as stone. Those doors were familiar to Luna as the doors leading to the chambers of her dear sister. The Moon princess walked along the hallway towards the door. As she past the guards she took a left turn towards another hallway which she hadn't yet explored. Moments after she changed her direction she heard a door creacking open behind her and a familliar voice.
-"Luna? What are you doing here in this late hour?"- Princess Celestia said as she stepped out of her bedroom, staring at her little sister.
Luna turned around to look at her.
-"Nothing, dear sister. Thou knows how we tend to explore the palace after dinner hour, no?"- she smiled awkwardly at the white alicorn infront of her.
-"You can quit the royal talk, Lulu! Come in, we haven't had enough time to talk lately."- Celestia smiled warmly as she stepped to the side and invited her sibbling in her room with a hoof. Luna sheepishly followed the invitation more like an order and walked inside the chambers. Celestia followed after, closing the door.
The room they were in was white from bottom to top, with the mark of golden swirls painted on the walls and ceiling and the floors were made of cream-coloured marble. At one side stood a small dressing table in the middle of the wall and on both sides of it two doors. One leading to a big wardrob and another- to a bathroom. On the other side was a big royal size bed with purple silk covers. Right across the door, there stood a huge balcony. It's view was currently covered with bright pink curtains. Next to it was a small table with two chairs placed beside it. It looked like a perfect place for a morning coffee. Celetia led her sister towards the small table and invited her to take a seat. On the table still stood a tray from earlier. On it was a half emty teapot and two small cups.
-"So."- the sun ruler started.- "What is wrong?"
-"What does thou meant?"
Celestia gave her little sister a look that caused the fellow alicorn to backtrack as she put a hoof on her mouth.
-"We- I mean... What do you mean?"
The older smiled, satisfied at the less formal question. But her smile quickly changed into a frown as she continued.
-"I presume you still remember what was said during your reformance 10 days back?"
-"Yes."
-"You went up to me, apologising, and asked for my forgivness, no?"
Luna looked down, her teacup becoming way more interesting than the conversation at hoof. "Y-yes."
-"And do you remember what I did?"
The younger looked back up, expecting her sister to continue. And so she did.
-"Luna... I forgave you. I forgave you without a second thought. And I've been greeting you with nothing but love and positivity for the past week! But you continue to worry me... You continue to loom and avoid me and- and...... I am worried that..."
-"Sister! We- I can assure you we meant not to worry or offend you! It is not you at fault, 'Tia! Tis I!"
-"Lulu, that's not what I meant..."- Celestia looked regretfully into her sister's eyes. She sat back down. Funny, she hadn't even realised she had stood up until now. She hadn't even realised Luna had stood up until she sat back down, investigating her cup again.
-"I..."- the said investigator ended the case as she started.- "Tis just...... I still feel ignored and... underappreciated by everypony. W- I know what you are going to say, I know, they don't know me, they have been welcoming me with warm smiles and open hooves, trying to accept me even though I tryed to cover Equestria in complete darkness but- but..."
-"Luna."
-"Y- yes?"- Celestia shuddered at the expression her most dearest person had. Was she really that worried about what they thought of her?
-"Calm down."- was the only thing the princess could say until she noticed the weight atop her eyelids.- "I think we had enough talk for tonight. Go have some rest..."
The moonlight princess stood still for a moment or two, then stood up, starting to walk towards the door but not before giving her sister a respectful bow.
The said sister didn't take it, as she closed the gap between the two, giving her young sibbling a timid hug, with a soft path on the back.
-"Don't worry if ponies don't start appreaciating you at the beggining. And don't worry if they still consider your past mistakes. Even though you don't know how you can compansate with the things you've done, I'm sure you can figure something out, if you really try."- Celestia let go as she followed to the white marble doors.- "And one last thing..."
Luna, now feeling a bit better, turned to her sister again, looked at her as to ask her to continue.
-"Cheer up. Pessimism will take you nowhere. Smile more! Have a good time! And don't let them get under your skin."
-"Them?"
-"Now goodnight, sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite!"- she opened the door, slightly nudging her sister through.
-"Do not be ridiculous, 'Tia! There's no such thing as 'bedbugs'!"
-"Well, that's what you think, no?"- Celestia smirked, winking and then giggling in amusement as her sister lightly punched her forearm. ~~Not something formal, finally!~~
The young royalty started down the hallway to her own room, with a much better mood than the last time she went through there, leaving a rather happy Celestia, even thought something still felt not right. Ah, yes. There was still the problem with what Luna can do. She pressumed she can think about that the next day. Now all she needed was a bit of rest.
Author's Note
Hey! This is my first fanfic, I started it a while back, but I got bussy and then forgot about it and then I just RANDOMLY decided to continue it?? Is that how it works?? Welp, yeah. This had to do with a discussion I had with a friend involving the question "Why was Luna unhappy when everyone appreciated her for helping with nightmares?" and it worked from there. There will be more after this, and I hope I continue it soon. Welp, that's all from me! See ya!
~~I know the tittle is terrible but bear with me here.~~
