Spiders and Magic: Future Shock
An Average Tuesday for Miguel O'Hara
Earth-928,
Nueva York City, 2099
It was Tuesday. And all was the same. The city of New York had always been bustling. Even 75 years into the future. Flycars sped through the air, getting to and fro. The Public Eye, Alchemax's personal police force, combed the city, making sure anyone who made a stink against Alchemax or committed crimes that Alchemax believed wrong, were dealt with.
Yes, Alchemax, everyone's favorite global megacorp, was one of the world's most leading organizations, if not the most. Alchemax was actually responsible in helping shape the world into what it was today. Which wasn't exactly a good thing. The company was FAR bigger than it needed to be, and it had connections and operations as far as the eye could see. And because of this, Alchemax was as corrupt as they came. They secretly orchestrated much of the crime, as a means to an end. And some of the wars going on, using bio weapons. Alchemax was the supplier. Some people stood up to it, but others knew better than to mess with it.
Miguel O'Hara awoken in his darkened bedroom, lazily sitting up and stretching. Good morning, Miguel. An automated female voice spoke from speakers throughout the house. "Good morning to you too, Lyla," the man said groggily. Miguel stood up and put on his slippers. He walked into the kitchen, and took a metallic mug from the glass cupboard. He held it under a machine, and it poured hot coffee into it. He walked into his living room, and stopped in front of the window. "Alright, Lyla. What's new today?" Miguel asked, taking a sip of his coffee. Weather is cloudy with a slight chance of rain. The air is 84.7 breathable again, and there's a robbery in progress as we speak. Lyla's automated voice spoke throughout the house.
A yellow hologram of a beautiful woman in a white dress appeared before him. Anything else? she asked. "Yeah, switch to costume," Miguel replied, retrieving a blue mask from a drawer. His watch glowed, and a blue costume began to materialize over his body. Red markings on his arms, with two sharp fins protruding from each arm. A skull-like Mexican spider-symbol in the middle of the suit. A web-like cape formed on his back. Miguel stepped up to the window, looked out across the expansive city. He pushed a button on the seal, and the window opened automatically. He put his mask on over his face. Hopping up on the seal, he leaped from the apartment.
Diving into free fall, Miguel took the time to feel the weightlessness, before shooting a strand of webbing from his wrist. The webbing attached to the side of a building, allowing Miguel to swing upwards. He repeated the action, and swung across the city.
"Alright, Nueva York, look out. Here comes Spider-Man!".
The Public Eye weren't too fond of robberies
