Two sisters controlled the land of Equestria, the elder one was responsible for bringing about warm days, while the younger one brought the peaceful nights. Then the younger sister, jealous of all the attention her sibling received, turned on her sister, and attempted to bring about an endless night. To protect Equestria the elder sibling sealed her sister within the moon for a thousand years.
