Jedi, Teacher, Lover, Friend
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryIt was an average ordinary day in the town of Canterlot down on earth, as Red, a local teacher at Canterlot University, is walking in to prepare for his class that day.
He taught physics, and was the best teacher at the university for it.
Red smiled at least, as on occasion, he was paired up with his favorite coworker, Luna, the former vice principle of Canterlot High Scoool, who has moved upward to teaching Astronomy at Canterlot University. It was her favorite subject, and as such she was certainly the best teacher on the subject.
Today, though, was not one of those days, and it was just him and a small class.
He did however, have two favorite students, who were members of his class. They were Fleur de Lis, and also Sunset Shimmer, both of whom had great futures ahead of them. Red himself did have a crush on the two, as well as Luna, on top of this, though Luna was older than him, and the two students were younger than him, he was more in between the ages, being not that much older or younger from the three girls. He had no idea though, that this day, would change his life, forever as he walks into the class room. "Good morning class." He said smiling at the students looking at them.
"Good morning, Mr Star," they all replied, as his birth name was Zero Star, but everyone just called him Red, due to his hair being completely crimson red.
Red smiled chuckling, waving a hand through his crimson red hair, which was the reason he was called such. He didn't mind, as it was actually something he had been called since birth.
Red smiled "Simply put it on my desk please." He said smiling, as he began to set his stuff out, to prepare for the lesson and begin teaching.
The class groaned. "Way to go, egghead," one of the students muttered to the particular purple skinned girl with a streak of darker purple in her hair that brought it up.
Red looked forward "Now now. No need to be rude to her....who are you my friend? I do not believe I recognize you..." he said looking at the purple skinned girl with his blue eyes.
"I'm a new student, sir. I just arrived a few days ago. My name's Twilight."
Red nodded, looking at his register. "Ah, yes now I see you. Twilight Sparkle right?" He asked smiling happily. "Well if you're anything like Sunset Shimmer, I think we'll get along just fine."
"Hopefully," Twilight said. "I really don't know how to make friends."
Red smiled "If it helps, I'll be your first friend...and I know six girls whom also know how to make friends...One of which, being Sunset herself." He said smiling, though he wondered where she was actually as the orange skinned, and red and orange haired girl hadn't shown up.
"Sure," she said, walking up to Twilight. "My name's Sunset Shimmer."
"AH there you are Sunset. You're a bit late...that's not like you, what happened today hmm?" He asked smiling.
"I kinda stayed up late at a party me and the others were having."
Red nodded "I see..." He said as he took his coffee mug, which was still full of nice hot coffee. "Here, maybe this will help you wake up eh?" he mused smiling at her.
"Thanks," she said, taking the cup. "So, you're the new student," she asked Twilight.
Twilight nodded "Yes I am...it's nice to meet you Sunset." She said smiling.
"Same here," Sunset said. "You know, you remind me a lot of one of my friends that didn't go to college."
She smiled "Really? Who?" She asked curious of what Sunset's own friend was named.
"Just a friend who helped me out during a, well, questionable part of my life."
Red simply chuckled "Well, I'd say it's time we got to work eh?" he said smiling, as he began the lesson for the class, beginning his physics lecture.
Twilight and Sunset both raised their hands.
"Newbie first!" Red said smirking as he pointed to Twilight, showing that he was simply being playful calling her 'newbie'
"The first one is that any object in motion, like a car," she said, standing, "will remain in motion, and likewise for an object at rest will stay at rest, until an outside force acts upon it. The second is actually an equation. It's F=ma, or force equals mass time acceleration. The third is probably the most known one, and that's for ever action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."
"Correct!" he said smiling and applauding her knowledge on the subject.
"NERD!" a student yelled. She had light blue skin, and silver hair.
"And you could stand to learn a thing or two from her Trixie, considering you're making what in this class?" he asked as he looked to her.
"Simply because Trixe is too bored in this class," Trixe said.
"What did you expect, Trixe," Sunset said. "A life full of partying and showboating yourself?"
"If that's what she wanted, she should join the drama class." He said. "Trixie, I want to see you privately after class." he told her, before they continued with the lecture.
At the end of the class, about an hour and a half later, the student's got up, and Trixie tried to sneak out, but Sunset grabbed her arm and stopped her. As well as Fleur. "What do you think you're doing, Shimmer," she asked as the two hauled Trixie, near flailing to get out, to Red.
Red sighed sitting there "Trixie I know you think i'm some kind of monster that's going to destroy you, but I'm not." He said softly looking at her once she was put back in the room, He also moved, blocking her exit route. "Why is it you're only putting in a half effort job in it? I've seen your grades in some of your other classes. you're borderline on starting to fail, in all but One class. and in that class, you're absolutely passing it with an 'A'. That class, being Luna's Astronomy class." he stated. "Infact I've noticed that whenever Luna and I are paired up together for classes, you are paying far more attention, than you ever did normally." he said. "So why is it you're just giving it barely any effort?" He asked her.
"I can't tell," Trixie said. "It's supposed to be a secret."
"And what might that secret be," Luna said, walking in and making those present jump, knowing what Trixie meant.
Red smiled at her. "Ah, Hello Luna, what a pleasant surprise." He said smiling as he looked to the beautiful blue teacher, who had light blue hair, before he looked back to Trixie.
"I'll admit, I am a little curious," Sunset said.
"Me too," Fleur added.
Red smiled "Trixie. We want to be your friends, it's alright you can tell us, and we won't think any less of you." He explained.
"Fine," Trixie said. "Luna is my adoptive mother."
"Now it makes sense why you do so good in her class...And why you pay more attention when we're together." He mused quite surprised, plesantly so as well, as Sunset and Fleur both looked absolutely surprised.
"Trixie, why would you only want to do well in the classes I'm in, but poorly in the others?" Luna asked.
Red nodded "Yeah, why is it? I mean...you pay more attention in my class...when Luna's paired up with me." He said as he put an arm around Luna, to help accentuate the point.
Trixie just sighed. "I'm sorry...it's just...you helped me....adopting me back then...you helped me out...so..It's...like an obligation...to listen to my own mother..." She said. "Plus..I've always had a...hobby of star watching, and studying astronomy..." She admitted. "Just as much as I do being a show off..." She said.
Red smiled and gently placed a hand on Trixie's shoulders. "Trixie. I'll make you a deal....You change your attitude so that you aren't very rude any more, and you start paying more attention in class, and I'll talk to the drama teacher about giving you a shot there...Okay?" He asked knowing she'd want to join that team due to her showy nature.
Trixie noticably smiled. "Got it."
"And no more speaking in the third person in normal moments, Trixie," Luna added.
She nodded understanding as Red gave her a hug. "There we go. Now, if you need help getting that grade up, I'm sure Twilight, or Sunset here, might be willing to help you out." He said as he looked at Sunset. "Right?" He asked as Sunset nodded.
"Yep."
"Good," Luna said. "And I think it best if the three of you," she said, meaning Trixie, Sunset, and Fleur, "work together on a physics project."
Red smiled "You know what Luna, that's a great idea!" he said. "Now, unfortunately, I am not sure what project you three could do, unless perhaps you did something similar to the lecture's focus..." he said.
"Perhaps a report on the physics of a star," Luna said. "Fleur always did like stars in astronomy."
Red smiled "Hmmm...I'd say that sounds wonderful Luna. What do you say girls?" He asked looking to Fleur, Trixie, and Sunset.
"Sure," Sunset said, as did Trixie, while Fleur hesitated.
"I guess," she finally said, rolling her eyes, showing she didn't want to be with the two at all, most likely due to their old school rivalry.
Red smiled "Hmm. Luna. what would you say if the three here, get extra credit for our classes if they do good enough?"
"I was thinking that for Trixie," Luna said, a hand on her chin, "as well as a lecture pass for both classes as well."
"Sounds good to me...And they have to present the project to the entire class, to explain how it works. What do you say we set up a joint class to do so?" He asked smiling. "Thus killing two birds with one stone as it were?" he asked smiling.
"Agreed," Luna said.
Red nodded. "Well, I think I'll look through my notes for a lecture I've done that can help, I suggest you do the same Luna." He explained.
"Oh, I will."
Red smiled "Well then. Luna, would you care for some coffee?" he asked, as he was about to leave.
"Please," she said as the two left for the teacher lounge.
Red smiled leaving with her, to get her some coffee.
"Looks like we'll have to work together," Sunset said.
"Much as I don't want to," Fleur said.
Trixie hugged both. "This can be fun!" She giggled a bit as they headed off to wait for the papers from their teachers and plan.
"I think I liked her better when she was a show-off," Sunset said.
"Agreed," Fleur said.
Trixie just laughs.
Red meanwhile, pours a cup of coffee for Luna, just how she likes it. "So how's things been for you Luna? Never expected you to be Trixie's mom." he said smiling.
"Neither did I, when I was still a vice principal. It happened suddenly. As best as I understand, her parents were killed in a home invasion while she was at school helping me. When I knew of this, I decided to adopt her."
"Hmm. I see...I see...You know...You wouldn't happen to still have kept track of those three...what were they, siren girls did you? i've wondered what happened to them...felt sorry for them too...especially Sonata..." He said softly... "I always wanted to find her and help her after I heard about what happened.
"Last I heard, she and the rest of the Dazzlings had gotten their voices back, and actually started a band," Luna said.
Red smiled "Really? That's nice...I'll have to see if I can track them down." He said, thinking about it.
"I heard they actually plan on stopping here in a few months. Sonata and I actually keep in touch, and they're hoping to do a duet with Sunset and the others."
"Really? Could I get her number?" he asked smiling a bit, curious, to possibly help.
"How about her skype address, and a face to face, as our next chat is in five minutes?"
"I'd Love that." he said smiling eagerly.
"Good," Luna said as she got out her laptop.
Red smiled eagerly sitting next to Luna.
A few minutes later, her laptop dinged, signaling a message.
Red smiled eagerly as Luna opened it up.
"Hello, Sonata," Luna said
Red smiled waving. "Hey there Sonata!"
The blue woman smiled happily her ponytail waving in the back as she happily was relaxing, and was shirtless letting the two see her wearing a sports bra over her chest. "Hey there Luna, and who might your friend be?" she asked with her bubbly voice.
"I'm Red. I'm the physics teacher here." he said smiling.
Before Sonata could respond, the two teachers heard offscreen"Sonata, is that Luna?"
"Of course it is, Dagi! Who else," she said. "Sorry."
Red smiled a bit. "Hmm?" He asked "Oh Adagio's there too!"
"Yeah, but she's getting ready for our concert."
"Personally, I was hoping to get your number Sonata." he said smiling before speaking again. "And Luna tells me that you three are coming by in a few months?"
Sonata smiled. "Yeah, we are," she said. "Uh, Luna, you haven't talked to the rainbooms yet, have you?"
"I probably could...actually...we both could, all three of us even, Sonata." he said smiling. "I can call for the entire band to come to my classroom to talk and we can call you via skype to let you talk to them too...not to mention try to help them understand you three aren't exactly evil anymore." He said.
"Yeah," she said. "And for your friend, here's my number," she said, holding a note. "A lot of guys ask for it, so I always keep slips with it on hand."
Red smiled, and quickly texts her. 'Thank you Sonata~
I'm a big fan~'
"Aw, thanks," Sonata said, blushing. "Well, see ya. We're about to go on."
"See ya!" he said softly as Luna smiled waving as Red texted her again. 'Send me a picture of you please! also text me when you're done and available to talk with the Rainbooms' He told her, as he was wanting to prepare for it rather well.
"Well, that was interesting," Luna said, closing her laptop.
Red nodded "Yeah. She's cuter than I thought she'd be." he said chuckling. "So, I'll just wait for her reply so that I can gather the rainbooms to talk." He explained.
"And in the meantime, we can plan our next joint lesson."
Red smiled giving her a small hug. "Agreed! So, when shall our next joint lesson be?" he asked.
Meanwhile, in a forest near the city, a small, nearly invisible object landed.
"Proxy, where are we?"
The hologram droid spoke. "Well Master, we're on a lovely little planet called Earth. it seems to be filled with various different escapades that's happened, and the records I'm accessing now state that 'magical' occurences are quite occasional event. Especially around this town, known as Canterlot." He explained.
"Don't you mean the force?" Galen Marek, aka Starkiller, asked.
"Possibly...but at the same time, explain this Master." he said as he shows him the video feed of Sunset being defeated by Twilight Sparkle of Equestria, and her friends, who now were Sunset's own friends, the Rainbooms, and then later, of Sonata, Adagio, and Aria, being defeated in the grand battle of the bands show by the Rainbooms themselves, both including Princess Twilight AND Sunset Shimmer.
"Hm, I guess so. Besides," he said, getting up. "This is a new planet, and it might just be how they manifest the force."
"I didn't know what would happen when I helped to start the rebellion, and that turned out well."
"True...Still. Be careful Master. Please try not to kill anyone." he said, as the loading ramp for the ship opened.
"I will be," Starkiller said as he stepped off.
Starkiller walked along from where they had landed the ship, towards the city, dressed a rather shoddy looking outfit, it was something much like a set of combat gear for a gladitorial arena. bandages tied around his legs covering the lower half of his pants, from below the knee down to his ankles, and going around his shoes, along the sole of the foot, above his pants was a simple short sleeved shirt, with bandages wrapped around his forearms, fingerless gloves on his hands, a leather armor pad around his chest, covering his back, with the belts around the front to anchor it onto him, and a metal shoulder guard over his right shoulder. On his thigh looked like a pouch where supplies could be hidden, anchored to a belt rig around his waist, complete with a loin cloth styled fabric around the front and back, of his waist. There were metal armor pads along the back of his hands on the gloves.
He looked over and said. "Might need civilian clothes for this," then went back inside to put on a more casual outfit
After changing, he heads on further, to go and see if he could track down his target. "Proxy, give me the target's details again." He said in his comm link.
"Unfortunately, no, Master. "Grand Master Skywalker does not know who we are looking for, only that he sensed a massive pulse of force energy, most likely those two events," Proxy said.
He sighed. "Well try to keep in contact and see if you can get Luke to try and find more information from that vergence he felt." he said as he continues along.
"Of course, Master," Proxy said as Starkiller left the Rouge Shadow.
He continues to look through he city now, blending in much better. He expands his mind to try and feel for the same vergence in the force that the Jedi Grand Master had felt.
He was surprised when he felt not one, but seven individuals that had the vergence.
He now began to close in. 'Proxy, tell Luke that I've found not one vergence, but SEVEN. I'll bring them all back with me.' He said through the comm link.
"Understood, Master."
With that, Starkiller begins to search, to hunt them down.
Back at the university, Fleur, Sunset, and Trixie were discussing the work they would each be doing for the project.
"So the project is the physics of a star....so what shall each of us be doing then?" Sunset asked looking at Trixie and Fleur. "Trixie, how about you work on presentation for it? I mean, not as an insult but you're a natural at making things presentable. Even when you turned in mediocre projects for Red in class earlier, you still presented them as though they were A grade material..." She said.
"Of course I will. Everyone knows that I have a flair for drama," she said.
Wonder how Twilight's Trixie acts, Sunset thought as she turned to look at Fleur. "And I guess we could do the research, huh, Fleur?"
She nodded "Yep. We'll handle research." She confirmed.
"Then how about we put aside the old rivalry between our schools. It doesn't make sense, seeing as how we're both at the same school."
"I suppose you're right..." She said softly.
"Then what do you think we should start with first?"
"Other than waiting for Mr. Red and Miss Luna to give us the notes like promised, Not sure...maybe perhaps, study how stars stay in constellation forms? or why the Solar system we're in is the way it's modeled?" Fleur suggested.
"Hm. yeah, that first one is interesting," Sunset said, getting a slight headache as she said this.
Fleur noticed her clutch her head and raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong Sunset? Are you okay?" She asked as Trixie took notice as well.
"Yeah, just a small headache is all."
They nodded "You sure? Maybe you should go get checked out by Nurse Redheart..." Trixie suggested.
"I'm good," Sunset insisted. "Probably just my time of the month."
They shrugged "Maybe." Fleur said first. "But okay, we have our subject...right? So, anything else we need?" She asked.
"Not that I can think of," Trixie said.
"Hmm...nngh...so, I suppose we should go to them and ask for notes right?" Sunset asked holding her head a little.
"Sure, if you're up for it, that is," Trixie said.
"Of course I am." She said smiling as she began to stand up.
"Still, I think it best if we went slowly," Fleur said. "Don't want you to faint and faceplant on the floor."
She nodded, standing, holding onto Fleur for support as they began to go back.
Unbeknownst to them, Red, Luna, or even Starkiller, a second extraterrestrial being had landed, and had already begun heading to the university.
