Royal Military Training 101
Chapter 1: Welcome Party: Part 1
It was that time of year, the time that the recruits were coming. This put a mischievous grin on Brass Knuckle's face. His favorite time of year was what he liked to call "Trainee Season." This time was for his job and talent to go into effect. His heart and soul are pushed into this time of year. For him, it was time to make the new trainees his bitches... in a metaphorical way that is. It was like a breath of fresh air for the stallion. He wasn't a bad pony at sort, his job is to get recruits ready for the tough job of being in the Royal Military. His job was to prepare these recruits for anything, involving assassins, warfare, and those who don't understand "The Princess is busy at this moment in time, you can try to make an appearance later." The ones who wouldn't take no for an answer was the worst of them all... Much worse than any measly assassin or war.
The trainees were being transported by multiple buses; each bus visiting the many locations around Equestria. Brass had heard that about 100 to a 150 trainees were coming in. Less than the usual amount, but it would suffice. No matter the number, there were going to be souls he would mold into soldiers. As he awaited his "prey" he continued going through paperwork. That was the one part of his job that he despised. Paperwork was his worst enemy. It was pointless and annoying. Why did he have to deal with legal troubles between the trainees' safety, wasn't that the recruitment agency's job? Brass' head poked up as he heard the sound of multiple motors and the smell of smoke being admitted from some sort of engine.
"Perfect timing..." he mumbled to himself, "This is going to be a fun time..."
Each recruit began to exit the bus. Some walked out feeling fine, others with sick expressions on their faces. Brass knew that the sick ones would be the perfect metaphorical punching bags. If a bumpy bus ride can make them nauseous, he can easily do worse.
"ALRIGHT RECRUITS!" his voice boomed through the training grounds, "LEAVE YOUR LUGGAGE NEAR THE BUSES, OTHERS WILL COME COLLECT YOUR BELONGINGS AND TAKE THEM TO THE ROOMS YOU WILL BE STAYING AT UNTIL TRAINING IS OVER! I WANT ALL OF YOU TO LINE UP IN ROWS OF 25, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO IS IN FRONT OR BACK!" The recruits began following his orders and lining up into a formation.
"YOU ALL LOOK LIKE A FRESH GROUP OF WORTHLESS PONIES WHO I WILL CONVERT INTO POWERFUL TROOPS!" Brass continued to pace back and forth in front of his new trainees. His stomping was audible even to the ponies in the far back of the formation. Brass' eyes looked through his new crowd, and out of the corner of his eye he saw a small Pegasus mare; she had an impressive stance and had the face of somepony who was prepared for hell. Brass approached the mare,
"Alright fruitcake, what's your name?" he asked the mare.
"Thunder Strike SIR!" she replied, still keeping her perfect pose.
"Why did you join the military fruitcake?"
"I joined to serve the Princesses in anyway or form possible!"
"I see... good choice, you got a nice posture fruitcake."
"Thank you SIR!"
After he finished with Thunder he decided to spot out another target. His eyes locked with somepony who looked like it would be fun to mess with. He was a scrawny looking stallion, at least for an Earth pony.
"Buttercup!" Brass yelled into the Earth Pony's ear, "What's your name?"
"Careful Craftsman SIR!" Brass noticed that the stallions legs were shaking quite a bit; he knew this one would be fun.
"Alright Craftsman, why did a scrawny pony like you sign up for an important job like this?"
"I believe I would be a great help in development for new equipment for the battlefield SIR!"
"I see... That's not a bad goal buttercup, however, craftsmanship isn't gonna be the only thing you'll need to keep your PATHETIC ASS ALIVE!" Brass' shout made Craftsman jump; the shout echoed through his brain. Craftsman began to show a dazed face.
"You see Scrawny, you will NEVER survive on the battlefield if one single shout CAN RUIN YOU DAMN POSTURE!" Craftsman was still in a state of shock from the shout. Brass continued to stare into the eyes of the prey.
"SCRAWNY! WAKE UP YOU WORTHLESS SACK OF SHIT!" Brass roared. This was the exact reason no buildings of such were built near the training grounds. Anypony would instantly be disrupted by the amount of shouting that occurs everyday. Brass was beginning to get infuriated at the unresponsive pony standing in front of him. Brass raised a hoof and swung at the Earth Pony's head. Craftsman fell to the ground; the left side of his face covered in a bruise. Even as he lay in the dirt, Craftsman did not move a single muscle. He was still in a comatose state.
"Guess Scrawny here can't take a hit..." Brass mumbled to himself. The sarge continued to gaze among the crowd once more. His eyes then locked with a specific Unicorn mare. Her lime green coat stood out to him; not because it was a "unique" color, it was the mare herself. This lime green mare seemed like the biggest rebel in the entire camp. Brass instantly knew that this moment was a perfect opportunity to make a point. Brass noticed the mare was doing something that the rest of the recruits would not even think of doing. The lime green mare was eating a potato...
