MoonDrop zoomed out of her house and down the road with excitement in her wings and hooves. She cheered in joy every time she jumped flapping her wings quickly every time. Today was her best friend's birthday and she had a GREAT surprise for her, when MoonDrop made it to Fire's door, she lightly knocked. A mare with long green hair and a orange-reddish coat, answered the door with a soft smile when she seen MoonDrop.
"Welcome, MoonDrop, how are you today?" The mare kindly asked MoonDrop, whom returned the smile.
"I have a REALLY big surprise for Fire. Let me in!" As MoonDrop pointed out the letter, The mare slowly moved to the side a bit to allow MoonDrop in. She couldn't wait to see what MoonDrop had gotten her daughter.
"Hey MoonDrop!! Over Here!" Fire called out to MoonDrop across the group of fillies, she was sitting at a table consisting of; Lightning Flash, Night Fall, Blue Lightning, Aura Skies, and LolliBreak. MoonDrop cheerfully walked over to their group of friends.
"I can't wait to show you what I got you, but I have to wait for everypony to be gone after the party." MoonDrop smiled down at her small saddle bag, which contained the letter, and her glasses. She never wears her glasses in front of other fillies, but she has to wear them when it comes to reading or watching TV.
"So, I can't believe how rad this party is so far!" Said LolliBreak as she bit down on a lollipop from her parent's shop.
"I know right, I can't believe Moon helped Fire invite ALL of these fillies, it's so many I can't even count." Night Fall waved her hooves in circles beside her head, while rolling her eyes.
"I didn't do much, if any credit has to go to anypony, it's to Fire. I just simply passed out a few invitations..." MoonDrop coward away from her friends slightly enough Fire was able to take notice.
"Of course you did a lot! I only invited like... 25 percent of these fillies. I invited Scootaloo, Sweetie belle, and Apple Bloom, but they don't seem to be coming. Oh well." Fire sighed as she bit down into her sandwich.
"They're probably still trying to get their cutie marks. I can't wait to see what their cutie marks become!" Aura skies threw her hooves in the air happily.
“I know right!” Blue Lightning shouted, but as they were all chatting Moondrop somehow felt lonely.
“Hey… Guys… I think I’m going to go use the restroom…” Moondrop took off her saddle bag and laid it beside Fire. After staring down at the bag contently, she walked away to go upstairs to the restroom.
“Why’d she leave her bag?” Night fall looked down at the bag beside Fire, Fire’s glance followed.
“I couldn’t know why, she normally does things like this, which confuse me. I’m going to get out what she got for me.” Fire levitated the saddle bag with her magic with ease, opened it, and pulled out the scroll. She opened it with care and started to read;
Dear Fire Starter,
Princess Luna and Princess Celestia have curatively been asked to sign you up for military practice. And they want you here for 7-10 years, no contact with any pony on the outside. We heard good things about your magic and believe you could be a great help to Equestria’s strong forces and protect it with us. We will be waiting 3-5 days after you receive this, for you to arrive at Canterlot, and we will give you more information on the way. We will be glad to have you in our team.
~Sincerely, Commander Bright Burn.
Excitement filled Fire’s body, and she eventually started to jump up and down cheering loudly. She wanted so badly to hug Moon, but she was still in the restroom.
“She’s taking an awfully long time…” Fire thought to herself, curious to where her friend was, she told the girls that she was going to get Moon, and went upstairs. She lightly knocked on the bathroom door, and the response was a soft ‘Yes’ from Moondrop.
“You did an amazing thing for me, Moon! Thank you so very much!” Fire shouted into the bathroom. After a while of silence, Moondrop opened the door with a weak smile.
“No problem, I wanted to make sure you were happy, Fire.” Moondrop’s weak smile gave out and laid upside down on her face.
“It’ll be alright, Moon. I’ll send you-”
“You can’t.”
“Maybe I can-”
“You. Can’t.”
“Alright… then I’d see you in 7-10 years, what’s the big deal? We’ll always be the closest of friends. No matter what happens.” Fire lightly slapped Moon’s shoulder for comfort. It seemed to have worked because Moon’s smile returned, “So, when do I have to go again?”
“They wanted you in as soon as this time tomorrow.” Moon informed Fire as they walked downstairs side by side.
“Nice party, Fire Starter, thanks for bugging me to come, Moon.” Rainbow night smiled up at the two on the staircase. Rainbow Night was a filly from school Moon had a little crush on, but they hung out just like best friends. More like, Moon annoyed him to do things.
“Thanks.” Fire nudged Moon in the shoulder, and walked off without her.
“Fire, where’s Moon?” Blue lightning asked concerned for her sister.
“She’s fine, just getting a talk in with Rainbow.” Fire smirked as she started to eat some of her birthday cake.
After about an hour later, Moon returned walking beside Rainbow as they were both laughing, when Rainbow left, Moon turned to Fire and the look on her face was so angry.
“You’re dead for doing that to me!” Moon tackled Fire as they both started laughing; the others tackled on top of Fire and Moon.
“I guess you didn’t expect our crazy friends to do this, now did ya Moon?” Fire giggled as they all got up from the pile.
After a long time of running around laughing and smiling, Every pony went their own ways, when Moon was leaving Fire gave her one last hug, and said, “Goodbye, I’ll see ya in 10 years.”
The next day, Fire left. Moon was left all alone in the world of unknowing ponies whom didn’t know her as well.
