Chapters The Keepers of The Balance
Revised Chapter 1: A Different World
Chapter 2: Proper Introductions
We were still on the train heading to Ponyville, I was trying to get some rest but I was in a memory that seemed unpleasant. When I dream I recall memories instead, most were from my past helping me remember certain things. But there were a few rare occasions where I get a memory from the future and this was one of them. I never like these memories from the future, since they’re always sent from me in the future to warn me of events set to happen. The worst part of them is not knowing how far in the future they are, so it’s always unclear of how much time I have to prepare.
I was in the middle of a village, it was clear in the sky but a thick darkness covered the land. I could smell ash in the air like this place was burned down. The smoke made it hard to breathe and to see anything. But what was this village, and what happened. I started walking down a lane of destruction, houses burned and crushed, the grass and land burned and chopped and the sky was red as if it was painted with blood. I then noticed something out the corner of my eye, a body.
I stepped up to inspect it, it was a pony. It was burned, so it was hard to see anything on the body I did notice it had a horn and wings. An alicorn but I couldn’t make out the features though I could see on the flank it’s much darker than the rest of the body with a white cutie mark I believe. Since it was burned pretty badly I couldn’t be certain. But I did make out a few things, one being it was cutted in certain places and dried blood oozed out the wounds. Almost like this pony was ‘Tortured’. A sudden thought jumped in my head, I shuddered at the thought. But I quickly dismissed it, because it shouldn’t be ‘Him’. I then started smelling… blood, I never thought I would smell blood again but I was.
I then heard a familiar laugh that sent shivers down my spine. No, it can’t be. I then did the last thing I wanted to do, I walked towards the source. I started making out a figure, a dragon that looked similar to me only blacker in color. My heart was racing fast at this point, cause I recognized this dragon. It was me, only not me in a sense. My one deep fear was the darkness I created out of my anger and negative emotions. This was that darkness given form, a separate being all together. I never got scared easily but this darkness always had me scared cause I know just what it’s capable of.
“Heheheh. Hello Sarius. You like what I did?” My fears were confirmed. It’s the one entity that I feel I will never be rid of. I couldn’t open my mouth; my entire body was literally frozen with fear. “Heh, it’s hard to find someone that can appreciate my work. But you do, cause we’re one and the same. After all I’m you. The one side of you that’s willing to do the evil and nasty things you think of doing.” He turned to look me in the eyes. His eyes were like mine only the green was much darker. My eyes went wide-eyed I couldn’t believe it was him but his eyes were enough prove to tell me otherwise. “Heh heh heh…. Welcome Sarius.” He smiled showing his sharp teeth. “TO YOUR HELL!!!! ” He charged me with teeth bared and claws drawn and let out a loud screech.
I woke with my eyes widen in horror. I was covered in sweat and I was trembling. I looked at my claws, and realized just what kind of nightmare I brought here. Kasulis was coming, I didn’t know when but that’s what is scaring me the most. I could start to feel his presence, he was slowly regaining power. And there was nothing I could do to stop him. I had to calm myself, if I kept this up he’ll return a lot quicker. I calm my breathing, thoughts and my heart. I can delay him, I know I can. I just need help to keep me positive, but there was no one I can depend on to help.
“Sarius, are you okay? You look like you had a really bad dream.” I turned to see Fluttershy sitting next to me. Her sweet and loving voice was enough to help erase some fear I had. Her eyes were so similar to the one I truly loved someone who my soul was bonded with. My negative thoughts and emotions were suddenly replaced with the opposite.
“I did. But I feel better now knowing you’re here.” She smiled and blushed.
“I’m glad you’re feeling better.” She placed her head on my shoulder. Her fur felt warm and smooth on my scales. I started blushing. Though we’re taking it slow she seemed really eager to skip all this and get to dating.
“Hey, Fluttershy?” I asked hesitantly.
“Hmm?” She replied in question.
I thought my words carefully. “If you want… We can treat each other like lovers, but not actually date. At least not make it official till we get to know each other well enough.”
“Oh? If you want to, I guess we can. But aren’t you gonna set some ground rules?” She asked already thinking ahead of me.
“Of course." I thought on it for a minute. "We can’t get real lovey dovely. Kissing on the cheek is allowed, hugs are allowed and what you’re doing now is fine too. Just no lip kissing and holding hooves.” I said happy to list them.
She nodded, satisfied. “Okay. It’s settled, we’ll still take it slow but we’ll help each other feel comfortable with this.” She smiled.
I smiled back. “That’s what I had in mind. Thank you.” I wrapped my tail around her body. She looked at me with eyes filled with passion and love. She then closed her eyes and went to sleep. I felt really comfortable with her being this close. I now realized I wasn’t alone in this ordeal; I had her and the others to help me. We’re not taking it seriously, yet, but we’re still willing to give each other a little love. This will help keep him at bay, being surrounded with love and friends will help keep my spirits high. I know I have time to get ready, I just need a few more allies, and I was sure I knew who I can go to for that. For now I needed to relax.
We’ll be at Ponyville soon and I’ll have to start making preparations. I took another look at Fluttershy, she looked so peaceful and innocent. Her yellow coat and perfectly combed pink mane made her look beautiful and helped me think of my aunt, Mother Nature or Naturus which is her godly name. I then gave her a kiss on the forehead which surprised me since I wasn't thinking about doing that. Must of been an instinct I picked up over the years. She moaned in her sleep, she must have known it was real cause she blushed a deeper red and smiled.
We were on the train for another few minutes before we arrived at Ponyville. I woke up Fluttershy letting her know we arrived. We all got off the train and we were welcomed by a few other ponies. I felt left out, but Fluttershy nudged me with her wing letting me know I wasn’t left out. It made me feel better knowing she looked out for me, being the new comer and all. Applejack and Rarity approached me with two fillies in tow. One was yellow like Fluttershy but had a big red ribbon in her bright red mane which made her look cute, the other was white like Rarity and had a horn as well symbolizing she was a young unicorn, her mane was curly and a purple and pink colored mane. One thing that caught my attention was they had no Cutie Marks.
“Sarius, Rarity and I wanted to introduce you to our sisters. This is Applebloom, my little sister.” She patted her on the head.
“Howdy Sarius.” Applebloom looked radiant. She had the same accent as Applejack.
“And this is my little sister Sweetie Belle.” She pointed to the other filly.
“Hi, This is so cool. There’s two dragons in Ponyville now.” She was blissful and had a cute squeak in her voice that made her adorable.
“Nice to meet you two. I’m Sarius Trusdale.” I noticed the two little fillies started blushing slightly.
“These two have their own group they call ‘The Cutie Mark Crusaders’.” Applejack added in. “Speaking of which where is Scootaloo?” She was peering around.
“Oh she’s waiting for Rainbow Dash.” Applebloom chimed in.
“I see. I’ll go get ‘er.” Applejack took her leave.
“So Sarius, I just wanted to ask. Would you be interested in helping me at my Boutique?” Rarity gave an appealing look. I could tell she was trying to turn up her charm. Turning up the charm never works on me. I noticed Sweetie Belle rolled her eyes.
“If it involves something you can’t do on your own I’m willing to help, but other than that no.” I felt slightly peeved at her attempt.
“Besides Rarity, you have Spike to help you.” Fluttershy scowled.
“I know, but Spike can only help with so much.” Rarity seemed chagrined.
“We’re back.” Applejack came back with Rainbow Dash and another filly that I can only assume is Scootaloo. She was red with an Orange mane; she also had no Cutie Mark. Her wings were really small for a pegasus, I feel like that the lack of a Cutie Mark and her wings would be a touchy subject.
“Sup Sarius. I took this little filly under my wing recently as a sister. Say hi squirt.” She seemed blithe.
“Hey I’m Scootaloo. You’re Sarius huh? Pretty sweet to have another dragon to hang out with.” She looked ecstatic. She didn't start blushing like the other two. I kept that in mind.
Twilight spoke up. “Okay girls. Sarius said he’ll explain himself, so let’s go to my library and let him talk.”
Everybody nodded and we all headed to a tree with windows. This is new, different but it felt like a home. Twilight opened the door with her magic and let us in. She noticed Fluttershy had her wing around me and we were practically touching. I noticed it was happening since Rarity asked me for help.
“Uh what are you two doing?” Twilight was slightly confused.
Fluttershy looked at her wing and retracted it really quick and backed up from me. She smiled and blushed and quickly ran inside. I could tell she felt embarrassed.
“What was that?” Twilight was dumbfounded.
“I think Fluttershy felt threaten by Rarity. Rarity asked me to help her in her Boutique.” I explained biliously.
“WHAT!?” Twilight was glowering. “Why would she ask you to help her when she already has Spike helping her? And he’s willing to help even if she doesn’t need it.” She had a hostile look on her
I shook my head. “Beats me, I think she just wanted a chance to have me for herself. She seems rather…. Attracted to me for some reason.”
“Well Spike has a crush on her and ever since Rarity found out, I feel like she’s pulling him along.” Twilight was peeved about that it seems. She then clamped her mouth with her hooves like she said something she wasn't supposed to say.
Then Pinkie Pie suddenly turned her head and stared at Twilight who flinched in response. Pinkie narrowed her eyes and whispered "Forever." She looked at me and gave me a smile before going about her business. I cocked an eyebrow and wondered what that was about.
Twilight stood still with wide eyes for a full minute before shaking her head. “And what about you and Fluttershy?” she asked quizzically.
I scratched the back of my neck and noted Pinkie Pie's behavior. I was gonna need to spend some extra time with Pinkie. “Oh, we have feelings for each other. She wants to jump in head first into the relationship but I asked her to take it slow. But since I told her we can show our love a little bit she seems more protective.”
“So you’re dating?” She was slightly confused.
“No not exactly. We’re taking it slow like I said, But I thought it would help us both if we start making ourselves comfortable with this. You don’t have anything against a pony loving a dragon or vice viscera do you?” I asked curious if anyone felt against it.
“Of course I don’t. It’s the fact you just met us that’s bothering me the most.” She gave a wary look.
I sighed. “I know. Which is why I’m not taking it seriously right now.” I reassured her to let her know I wasn’t planning on hurting her in any way. “But I do need some positive feelings right now.” I felt grim.
“Why?” She seemed curious.
I shook my head. “I feel like something bad is about to happen, and I want to keep myself positive as long as I can till I figure out what I can do about it. I’ll explain.” And with that I walked inside and saw everybody was waiting.
The Mane six, The CMC and of course Spike were all here. I felt it wouldn’t be a good idea to inform them of my dream, not yet anyway I was sure they wouldn’t like bad news after saving an empire. But they had to know, I didn’t know how much time I had before he made his entrance. I decided it I needed to let them know, even if they weren’t gonna like it.
“So Sarius. Tell us everything.” Twilight declared and the others sat and listened closely.
I took a deep breath, knowing I will need to do a lot of talking. “Alright. First off, you all know my name so I’ll get straight to what I am. I’m from another Dimension, one that’s unlike yours in a lot of ways. Where I’m from I’m only part dragon god. In truth, I’m a Hybrid.”
“A Hybrid? You mean you’re something with a lot of other things mixed up?” Rainbow dash looked intrigued.
I nodded. “That’s correct. I have at least 8 different strains of DNA in me right now. Each one helps benefit me in a different way. For example, I can breathe underwater and in space thanks to having the DNA of a fish. Now a fish can’t breathe in space naturally, but the part of me that’s a god, enhances it to a godly level. In fact all my abilities are enhanced by my godly DNA.”
“Awesome!” Pinkie pie liked that part.
“Now ya said something about being in a battle before ya came here, what do ya mean by that?” Applejack asked.
I perked up. “Ah. I was in a battle. It was a rather long, hard and exhausting battle with the Entity of Darkness named Duskill. I was left very weakened, and low on energy. It wasn’t too long after that I was sent here by my Uncle. I won’t go into details about him, since all that’s needed to be known is he’s a Dimensional Being. And his job is to ensure the safety of the Multi-Verse.”
“Multi-Verse?” Twilight had an inquisitive look.
I started scratching my head. I knew it would be hard to explain. “Okay. Think of it this way, the Multi-Verse is basically all of the known dimensions, alternate realities and timeline events. Since it’s hard to mention them separately my uncle and I decided to give it a name. So we decided to call it the Multi-Verse so it’ll be easier to use it when we’re talking about the whole.”
Twilight seemed appealed by this. “Your uncle sounds really smart, will I be able to meet him one day and get some information?” She gave me a very wide smile.
As much I want to grant her request for knowledge I know for a fact my uncle wouldn’t give that out to anyone. The only ones he shared all his knowledge with was me and my siblings, but I wasn’t gonna tell Twilight that.
I shook my head in despondent. “I’m sorry Twilight, but he’s very strict on that subject. He won’t give out that much knowledge to anyone who he thinks isn’t capable of handling it.”
Twilight had a gloomy expression now. “I see.”
“I’m sorry.” I could sense her disappointment but I continued with my explanation. “Now I already mentioned this, but I’m the protector of the Multi-Verse. It’s my job and sole duty to keep the Balance throughout the Multi-Verse. That means I can go either direction; good or evil.” Everybody then gasped and had freighted expressions on their faces.
“Don’t worry I’m not naturally bad nor good, though it seems I play the good guy every time. I’m actually neutral. Though if good gets out of hand I have to side with evil to keep the balance. But luckily I never had that happen to me, so I’m glad for that. I assume the side of good knows better, though not all the time.” Everybody calmed down again knowing they weren’t in danger. Though it surprised me that Fluttershy wasn’t scared, I assumed she knew my intentions weren’t for evil.
But then came the moment I hoped I could avoid, but it was something I couldn’t keep to myself. This dimension was in danger now I was here which I hated. “Though I’m afraid I’m not as good as you think I am.” Fluttershy felt something was off, I could tell since she had a concerned look. Everybody else was confused.
Fluttershy was the one to ask “Why?”
I looked at each of them one by one, I felt really grim and scared. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "Alright, Here goes nothing." “Because I have an evil side and his name is Kasulis. A part of me who is the exact opposite of me and now he’s on the verge of being released.” I looked down and opened my eyes.
I remember everything about Kasulis, I always wish I could forget all things he's done. “He’ll destroy everything here and slaughter millions before moving on to another dimension to cause more. To make matters worse only I can defeat him and effectively seal him back in my soul. Since his soul is half of mine, if he was to die I would join him since neither of our souls can live without the other. I don’t know how much time I have before he appears.”
I sighed “I….. wanted to keep it to myself since you just stopped one evil from conquering your home. I didn’t want to drop this on you knowing full well he won’t conquer, but destroy and kill. Plus you'll have difficulty defeating him since his death means mine too.”
I looked up to see their reactions; I was shocked to see they weren’t utterly scared out of their minds. They were scared yes, but I felt something else.
Twilight stood up and put on a brave face. “Well if that’s true, we’ll help you stop him Sarius.” That was it, determination; and the sheer will to defend her home and friends no matter what. Just like me.
Applejack chuckled. “Well, ah reckon we got some fight in us. So I’ll help ya too Sarius, just as long as ah can give Kasulis a good buck to the nose.” She felt confident.
“Hey if he’s your opposite that means he’s a big meanie right? I’ll make sure not to throw a party for him.” Pinkie then pulled out a cannon out of nowhere. “Me and my party cannon are ready to go.” She fired it once and streamers flew out. She chuckled “Once I get some actual ammo to use.” I smiled.
“This lady doesn’t like a fight but I’ll be sure to give him one if he threatens my home or Equerstia.” She wasn’t as stuck up as I thought, instead I think she just saw me as a very handsome dragon and got caught in the moment. “I’ll help you Sarius, even though fighting isn’t something I’m good at.” She looked worried but still had a confident smile. She earned my respect by pointing out her flaw and still feels willing to go through with it anyway.
“I’m always up for a challenge, so I’ll be happy to help. Plus it’ll be good for me to test out some of my fighting moves.” Rainbow dash was eager to get her game on.
“Well, I don’t like violence at all, and I’m not a good fighter. But if he hurts you or anypony else I care about, He’ll get a personal beating from me!” Her sudden threat caught everybody off guard, even me. The others didn’t expect her to get violent, but I didn’t blame her for being violent towards Kasulis. In fact there are times I wish I could beat him down till he dies but it isn’t possible.
Fluttershy realized what she said and blushed a little. “I mean, it’s not nice to hurt others and if any of you got hurt I wouldn’t like it.” Their all determined and have the undying will to survive and protect.
Twilight then recalled something. “Like you did with that dragon before. You were scared of him but when we got hurt you stood up to him by using the stare on him right?”
Fluttershy nodded. “Yes, I did but only because he was being mean. And I didn’t fight him I just made him realize that he was being bad and that he had to leave because he was endangering everypony’s health.”
I was surprised to hear Fluttershy was able to put the scare on a dragon. I dealt with plenty of dragons in my time but none of them could be scared easily nor persuaded. I started wondering if her stare was that powerful and if that was the case there might be more to it than that. I then had an idea.
“Since you all want to help, I should at least help you get prepared. If you don’t mind, I would like to see the six of you one by one and see if my theory is right. If it is then you might be strong enough to take him on.”
Fluttershy tilted her head. “What do you mean Sarius?”
“I believe the six of you might have hidden potential and I want to see if I’m right. If I am then your new powers might give you an edge against Kasulis and even future enemies.” I explained.
Twilight seemed intrigued. “That’ll be interesting to know what hidden potential I have. Count me in.”
Everybody else nodded in response. I smiled. “Good then it’s settled, tomorrow I’ll visit you one by one and help you unlock your hidden powers. I’ll also help you get started on mastering your new powers.”
Twilight then asked. “Sarius where will you be staying?”
This hit me like a punch to the gut. “I don’t know.”
Applejack stepped up. “Well if ya can wait a few hours, I’m sure we can put something together for ya.”
I nodded “That’ll be nice AJ. Thanks.”
She shook her head and smiled. “It’s our pleasure. Ya helped us it’s only fair we pay you back. It’s the least we can do.”
A loud belch was heard and a few seconds later Spike came running to me. “Here Sarius, the Princesses sent this for you.” He handed me a scroll. I took it and unrolled it.
Dear Sarius,
On behalf of Equestria, My sister and I request your presence at Canterlot. We wish to speak to you in private. We know you already met the Mane Six and informed them of the situation. Hope to see you soon.
Sincerely,
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.
Twilight stared at me with concern. “What do they want Sarius?”
I rolled up the scroll and handed it to Spike; he took it and put with other scrolls. “They wish to speak to me personally. They know I already informed you, which leads me to assume they were informed from my uncle.” I then looked to AJ “I guess I’ll be busy for a while. That should give you enough time to work on my house.”
AJ Nodded. “Alright. Y’all heard Sarius let’s get to work.”
Everybody began to leave till it was me, Twilight and Fluttershy standing at the door. Twilight spoke up. “Sarius, you don’t think you’re in trouble do you? It seemed Celestia was serious if she and Luna requested your appearance this soon.”
“Yeah it’s not a good sigh either when want to talk to you alone. Sarius I’m scared for you.” Fluttershy felt exquisitely concerned for me. It was good to know she cared about what happens to me.
I turned my head to look at both of them. “Don’t worry you two; I’m sure they just want to see me in personally and make sure everything they heard from my uncle are true. If they do try to harm me, I’ll defend myself.”
Twilight went bug-eyed. “NO!!! You shouldn’t attack them, even if you’re defending yourself. It won’t look good for you if your seen attacking them.”
I rolled my eyes. “Twilight I’m not gonna just attack them off the bat. Besides what would you have me do, play dead?”
Fluttershy giggled. Twilight narrowed her eyes in disgust. “Alright, I guess if you have to defend yourself then you can. But only IF you have to, I don’t want to hear the princesses got wounded by you during the conflict.”
I nodded. “You have my word that they won’t be harmed. I have trained in combat for 4 years straight; I know how to defend myself without attacking. Now I must be off I don’t want to make a bad first impression on them by being late do I?”
Twilight nodded. “They wouldn’t like it I’ll tell you that.”
“Take care Sarius, and be careful as well.” Fluttershy was sad to see my go so soon.
I smiled. “Don’t worry; I’ll be back as soon as I can. I promise.”
“Pinkie Promise?” Fluttershy stared at me with blissful eyes.
I turned to her and made a few gestures while saying “Cross my heart, Hope to fly, Stick a cupcake in my eye.” I made sure to close my eye before placing my claw on it. I surprised myself by knowing it in the first place, but I knew it was something I had to take seriously even though I always took my promises seriously. And with that I took flight and headed for Canterlot which wasn’t hard to see.
My internal clock was telling me it was past 4 o’clock and the sun was starting to make its way into the mountains. I then started feeling a little hungry, since the last time I ate anything was a few hours ago and it was enough to keep me filled for a few hours. I was partly hoping the princesses had something prepared for me and it was waiting for me. I looked behind me and saw Ponyville, much to my surprise wasn’t too small from this distance. I reached the skies of Canterlot and was hovering over the city square it seemed. I’ll admit, during our trip back to Ponyville from the Crystal Empire I didn’t set one claw in Canterlot since the Mane six had to stop off there to send their report. This is the first time I’m seeing all the fancy ponies going about their business and some looked really stuck up. I couldn’t believe how long a flight it is from Ponyville to Canterlot which made me wonder why the train ride was so long.
I figured I should stop wasting time and go see the princesses. I glided over to the castle and when I landed and turn towards the door I noticed two royal guards were blocking it. I walked up to them and I could sense their fear, I didn’t blame them I was sure not many dragons my size come by for a visit.
I cracked a smile to show I was here on good favor. “Hey guys, I received word from the princesses that they wanted to see me. Can I enter?”
“Are you Sarius Trusdale?” Asked one of the guards.
“Yes, I am.” I narrowed my eyes.
“Then be sure to behave yourself in their presence or you’ll answer to us.” Said the other.
The large double door was opened and I was granted permission to enter. I wondered through the halls wondering how on Earth anybody could get through here without getting lost. I then sensed two rather large energy signals, I could only assume it was the princesses so I followed my senses and found my way to main chamber.
At the very end of the long hall was two Alicorns, a white mare with a rainbow flowing mane, a slightly larger horn and she was wearing a gold crown, neck brace and shoes that matched. The other was dark blue with a nightly colored flowing mane, though she was smaller I did sense she is rather powerful to make up for it. She was also wearing the same cloth set as the other only it was black. I also noticed a symbol was imbedded to their neck braces, one was a perfectly cut amethyst and the other was a crescent moon. Their energy was powerful, though I faced greater opponents these two would certainly give me a challenge, so I decided to put my senses on high alert.
As I approached them I noticed the dark mare was staring me down as if she was trying to intimidate me. Which wasn’t working cause I dealt with worse looks from Kaila, the other was just happily watching me which told me their personalities were quite different. I’ll admit when I stepped within 10 feet of them I was getting scared, but I taught myself fear and pain are feelings and nothing more so the fear wasn’t gonna hold me back.
“Welcome Sarius to Equestria. I am Princess Celestia and this is my younger sister Princess Luna. We are happy you were able to see us on short notice.” Her voice was certainly majestic in itself, certainly what I would expect from a goddess of the sun in this dimension.
I nodded. “It was my pleasure; I had nothing better to do anyway. I have no place to live yet but the Mane Six are building one for me so I thought I could kill some time by paying you two a visit.”
“We have heard a lot about you from your uncle Sarius. Might I suggest you show a little respect in our presence?” Luna had serious look on her. Her voice was beautiful but menacing.
I snorted, spieling smoke from my nostrils. “If you’re gonna demand respect from me, you’ll get none. Because if you do know me then you know I’m a god as well.” I shot her a peeved look and raised an eyebrow.
She narrowed her eyes at me with anger as if I insulted her. She looked like she was ready to tear me apart, I smiled and gave her a look telling her I could take her.
Celestia broke the tension between me and Luna. “Calm yourself sister, we may be royalty and goddess but we aren’t ones to demand respect.” Luna gave a frustrated grunt. “Now Sarius, I understand you don’t trust anypony here in Equestria, but I want you to know we are willing to help you. We know of the dangers you fear you brought with you.” She had a concerned look.
They know about Kasulis after all. As much I want to say they can help, I didn’t think they could handle Kasulis. “I’m sorry Celestia, But I’m afraid what you’re asking of me is too dangerous for me to suggest. I don’t want anyone getting hurt because of me, and Kasulis I’m afraid plays for keeps.” I looked down and sighed.
“What, you think us weak and defenseless since we’re mares?” Luna asked with disgust.
“LULU!” Celestia glared at her.
I shook my head. “No, I don’t. I sense you two are very powerful, but you just don’t know Kasulis like I do. I’m sorry I can’t risk you two getting slain.” I then turned and began to walk out. I really felt like punching myself in the gut for shooting down their help. These two were offering to help me defeat Kasulis and this is how I treat them. Though I didn’t really blame myself, I always preferred to keep others away for their safety. I was always the lone wolf type trying to handle all the Multi-Verses problems on my own.
Then a flash of blue light appeared in front of me and Luna was keeping me from leaving. What surprised me was she wasn’t angry but determined to help. “Sarius please, we want to help you. I’m sorry for treating you like a peasant and demanding respect. I understand you want your respect and trust earned, let me show you we can be trusted and earn your respect.”
Her sudden change in tone caught me off guard. She was apologizing and asking for a chance. That alone would be enough for me to accept her offer, but I still wasn’t convinced. Then Celestia added in “If you let us we can show we’re capable of helping you.”
I looked at Luna, and examined her. I felt like I seen someone like her before. Then it hit me, in my memory of Kasulis. I came across a body of an Alicorn with a black flank and white colored cutie mark. The pony that was tortured and burned was Luna. It made more sense now. But now I was more eager to say no to insure my vision didn't come to pass. I did know she was like that because of Kasulis and not me, but i still wasn't sure if they can hold their own against him.
I then got an idea of how they can prove themselves, but the more I thought about it the more it seemed like a bad idea. I had little choice though; I needed any help I could get since Kasulis was that big of a deal for me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. “Alright, if you want to help me, there’s only one way I can let you. Fight me, and if you can hold your own against me then I’ll let you help.” Both of them were shocked to hear that word from me.
I opened my eyes and stared right in Luna’s eyes, my eyes silted indicating I was using my draconic power which made Luna uncomfortable. “Fair warning, I won’t hold back because neither will Kasulis if you face him. Don’t hold back or death is what I’ll give you.” They braced themselves as I took a charging stance. I then lunged at Luna with my claw aimed right for her heart.
She managed to use her wings and jump out the way while counterattacking with a lightning bolt. I stood up letting the bolt hit the ground and leaving a small crack. I then jumped to the ceiling and flipped to land on it and bounced back on top of Luna. She barely had time to react as I pinned her down and made my move of ending her.
Fortunately Celestia stopped me by charging me and shooting a fierily lance at me which I jumped away from. She then took to the air with her wings and threw the lance back at me this time from above. I dodged it and counterattacked with my tail swiping her from the right side and a black shield blocked it. Luna was already back up and ready for round 2. Celestia’s horn then glowed yellow and before I could stop her I was engulfed in a flame pillar she raised from her lance.
My body was burning but it wasn’t searing my skin, yet. It felt like the heat of the sun, which I knew was hot enough to burn through my scales. I flipped my mighty wings once with great force causing the whole pillar to shimmer away. Before I could attack Celestia however, Luna launched a lunar sword at my heart which I caught with my claw. The sword was sharp enough to cut me causing my claw to bleed. My claw then glowed with Energtris power as I shattered the sword into nothing. I then pushed the energy out in a swiping motion and pushed both of the alicorns into the wall.
I then made a saber of energtric energy in my right claw and charged Luna and attempted to stab her heart. She side-stepped to the left and my claw plunged into the wall and she stroke me with a kick to the gut sending me back a few feet. She then charged me and attempted to slash me with her sword but I did a back flip and let the sword cut the air instead and I rose my lower hind claw to strike her from below but she flapped her wings hard enough to move right a few inches to dodge my uppercut kick. She then trying stabbing me from the side but I then used my Energtris pulse to push me forward a few inches letting her sword miss. I then turned my body sideways and swiped her with my tail from the left side. Which she ducked under and I tried to swipe her with my right claw and she pushed back but then noticed I put a little energy into the attack and I pushed out with my energy shoving her through the air with my Energtris pulse.
I then noticed Celestia out the corner of my eye as she charged me with a golden halberd. She tried to pierce my heart, but I blocked it with my own shield. She then used her horn to shoot a flame ball at my head which I dodged stepping to the right. She swung the halberd at me aiming for my chest and I switched my shield to my left arm and blocked the strike. Luna then appeared above her and launched another sword at me. I then bended backwards and it passed by nearly touching my nose and I placed my hind legs on Celestia and pushed her to gain distance from the two. I flipped and landed on my feet, as I looked up I saw a bright light emitting from their horns.
With little time to react I stood on my hind legs and folded my wings forward and created a more stronger Energtris shield to block their attack. The force of their attack was enough to push me back and send me back 20 feet. I pressed my claws against the ground to stop myself and before I could make a move Celestia had the point of her halberd aimed at my head and Luna had her sword pointed at my chest. I knew for a fact I could easily get myself out of this but I wasn’t really fighting them only testing them. My eyes returned to normal and I smiled. Luna and Celestia took this as a sign to withdrew their weapons allowing me to stand on all fours.
I was impressed by their skill; they showed me they could go hoof to claw with me. I could tell Luna had more combat training than Celestia since I noticed her style was similar to mine. Celestia was no slouch either, her magic was certainly powerful and more vast and she harnessed the heat and power of the sun which was impressive.
I chuckled. “It’s been a while since I had a good spar, that was fun you two.” I straighten up. “Alright you two have proven yourselves capable of handling me. But know I was going easy on you since I was trying not to hurt you. Don’t expect Kasulis to show any mercy.”
Luna and Celestia looked at each other and smiled. They had fun too it seemed. Luna then spoke up. “Very well, Sir Sarius. From this point forward consider us your allies.”
I’ll admit the Sir part did catch me by surprise and I blushed a little at the compliment. “Say, do you two mind if I stay here for tonight? I’m sure it’ll take a while for my house to be built.”
Celestia gave a warm smile. “Of course you can. It’s my pleasure, and I’ll assign a guard under your position for protection.” She looked at the door. “Mac enter please.” I looked to see a unicorn with brown fur and yellow mane wearing a helmet and armor enter.
He stood up straight. “You called your Highness?”
Celestia nodded. “Yes, I want you to show Sarius to one of the guest rooms and I’m personally placing you under his command.”
Mac was a little surprised and worried to be under my command. “Your assigning me as a dragon's personal guard your highness?"
Celestia nodded. "Yes, don't worry he won't hurt you. In fact I want you to be our messenger in case he has something to report to me."
Mac simply nodded. "Very well, Sarius follow me." He started heading out the chamber.
I followed him and started to strike a conversation. "Hey since your my guard now, why not tell me about yourself? I want to get to know you better." He said nothing and escorted me to my room.
Mac looked me dead in the eyes. "You'll stay here tonight, I shall stand guard." He turned to face the hall.
I was puzzled. "Hey I'm not sleeping till you talk to me." I sat down to prove my point.
He simply looked at me from the corner of his eye and resumed his original eye position. Several minutes passed before he sighed and turned to face me. "Fine, what do you want to know, Dragon?"
I would feel insulted he called me dragon in an unpleasant way but i knew he was nervous so i ignored it. "Well, First off how many years training do you have under your belt?"
He raised an eyebrow. "Belt?"
I slapped myself in the face. I should have known belts weren't a thing in this dimension. "Okay scratch that, Just tell me how many years of training you have."
He smiled at me. "7 years Sir. Top of my class if I might add."
I was excited. "7 years huh? Try 4 years straight without any interruption expect eating, drinking and sleeping. And don't refer to me as Sir, it makes me feel like your saying that to not anger me or disrespect me which it isn't. Just call me Sarius."
He nodded. "Very well Sarius. You must be pretty experienced after 4 years if your were able to hold your own against the Princesses."
I was surprised he knew. "Wait, how do you know I had a spar with them?"
He smiled and rolled his eyes. "They had their favorite weapons drawn, I was sure they didn't bring them out just to show you."
I suddenly became worried. "I'm not in trouble am i? You know for starting a fight with them?"
He shook his head. "If they wanted you banished to the dungeon, then they would have told me to send you there instead of here."
I let out a sigh of relief. At least I know Twilight won't skin my scales for injuring the Princesses. "Okay, anyway second thing, does Luna have any guards of her own? I know all the guards i seen so far were Celestia's."
He shivered a little. "Yes, she does. They are really a rare breed of ponies known as Bat ponies. They serve her during the night only as far as I seen."
I put a claw under my chin. "Interesting, I guess I'll ask Luna for more details. Okay last thing, I'll be heading back to Ponyville tomorrow. So will you be coming with me or will you have to be stationed there by Celestia?"
He was shocked to hear me ask for his company. "Oh, um, Well I suppose Celestia would have to transfer me. Even though she assigned me under your command, I still serve her. So if I were to be placed under your position to serve you, she would have to fill out a sheet personally for me to hand to you."
I stood up. "I see, well I'll be sure to ask Celestia tomorrow before I leave and see if she will think about it." I looked him in the eyes. They were blue which i didn't notice till now since i was more interested in knowing him. "As for you my friend, you don't have to be afraid of me or respect me just because I'm a dragon. I prefer to have my respect and trust earned and not given just because I'm a dragon god. So just be yourself around me bro, and you and i will gonna get along very well." I patted his shoulder and smiled.
He smiled back. "I'll keep that in mind Sarius. And I'll try my best to serve you to the best of my abilities." He stood at attention.
I chuckled. "At ease Mac, I'm not gonna consider you a servant or my personal guard, but more as a close friend i can relay on to help me out." I turned to the door. "Good night Mac. I'll see you tomorrow morning." I opened the door and walked in.
The room was large for a guest room, but i guess if your royalty you can have rooms this big. I walked to the bed, it was Queen's sized bed which was perfect for me. I got up and it felt very fluffed and comfortable. I folded my wings in all the way, pulled the sheets out to slip under them and made myself comfortable. I was hoping i didn't have any more memories about Kasulis, since one was enough for me. I closed my eyes and started thinking about Fluttershy and Luna. My eyes shot open.
"Wait Luna? I didn't expect her to be on my mind as well. Did she impress me that much? " I thought with sudden shock. I then just laughed. "I guess she did. I'll admit it, she's certainly a match for me and i enjoyed our spar together. I can't wait to see her again now. "
I then closed my eyes and focused all my thoughts on two very beautiful mares and hoped i had pleasant future memories at least.
Back in the Throne room, Celestia and Luna were resting after their spar with Sarius. Luna was exhausted, she hadn't got this tired out in a long time. The last time she remembered was when she and Tia were younger a thousand years ago.
They were being trained by their Father in the art of combat, Swordplay, Close quarters melee, and sparring to learn how to dodge. Their Mother taught them Magic, High-level unicorn spells and Powerful spells only Alicorns could wield. Luna and Celestia both learned after they earned their cutie marks, they can harness and use the power of the sun and moon. Luna and Celestia both practiced combing their spells together and using their power over the sun and moon.
During one of their sparring matches, Luna was using her speed and agile to avoid Tia's spells. Luna was also using a few avoidance techniques she learned from her Father and trying them out. She was effortlessly able to pull them off, but avoiding her Sister's spells weren't easy. Tia gets a few private lessons from Mother, and she was putting them to use as well. After a few minutes of sparring, both sisters were exhausted and out of breath.
"Wow Tia, i have to admit. I had a few close calls, you came really close a few times. If i hadn't been training with dad, you would have beaten me several times over." Luna had a big smile, she never had so much fun before.
Celestia laughed. "Well, I certainly wasn't trying to make it easy for you Lulu. But i have to say the way you handled some of my spells i learned from mom were amazing. Hadn't i been taking those private lessons i would have lost to your speed." Celestia was proud of her sister.
Luna looked in her sister's eyes. "Hey sis, You think mom could give me some privates lessons too?"
Celestia smiled and placed a hoof on Luna's shoulder. "Of course, So long as i can get some lessons from dad in return."
Luna smiled and hugged her sister. "Deal."
Luna couldn't help but notice during her one on one spar with Sarius, that he too was using similar avoidance techniques she learned from her Father. She knew for a fact her Father couldn't have taught Sarius because their Father and Mother disappeared a long time ago. Which meant that Sarius was trained by someone else, maybe his Uncle. But something told her that wasn't the case. Finally it hit her like a brick.
"He trained himself. " She thought. "Yes, that would explain what his Uncle said. Sarius trained himself for 4 years straight. " She then realized she sparred with someone who trained for 4 years straight and was skilled enough to match her training with her Father. It took her several years just to learn the basics, but she was also learning other things as well.
"He is quite experienced. I was impressed actually. " Luna started blushing. "Wow, I never thought I'd meet a stallion or a dragon that can impress me so much. I'll even say he's rather strong, brave and handsome. Just what i like in a male. " She went bug-eyed. "Did i really think that? Do i have a...... crush on him? "
Celestia noticed her sister was blushing and was looking kinda silly. "Lulu, Are you thinking about Sarius?"
Luna blinked and looked at her sister. "What?! No i am not." She lied.
Celestia smiled and leaned in towards her sister. "Then why were you blushing? If i had to guess i would say he left an impression on you." She teased.
Luna was blushing redder now. "NO!! TIS A LIE!!" Her old habit of speaking Shakespearean came out.
Celestia just giggled. "Your so cute when you act like this, sister."
Luna knew she couldn't keep lying to Celestia. Celestia knew when she was lying which annoyed her.
Luna sighed but didn't lose the blush. "Okay, I am. I was impressed by his skill. It's been a long time since i had fun sparring." Luna smiled and giggled a little. "And I'll admit, he is quite handsome for a dragon."
Celestia was glad to see her sister was happy. For so long Luna wanted to have somepony to love. Now she's finally getting a chance. "Well, if i were you, i wouldn't let this chance pass by. Love is not easy to find. You have my support Lulu." She hugged Luna.
Luna smiled and hugged her back. "I won't Tia, I'll tell him tomorrow."
Celestia broke the hug and yawned. "Wow.... That spar took a lot out of me. We both enjoyed ourselves. I'll go sleep now. Good night Luna." She started walking to her chamber.
"Good night Dear Sister." Luna replied before Celestia was out of earshot.
Luna then started thinking of a way to tell Sarius about her crush. He was going back to Ponyville tomorrow and she wanted him to know she'll be waiting for him when he comes back. She's had plenty of chances for love, but she always told herself to wait. She was glad her waiting had paid off. Now all she had to do was tell him and hope he feels the same way.
"But what if he doesn't. " She thought. She then shook her head. "No don't think like that. I won't know until i talk to him, and i will talk to him. " She was going to find out one way or another. She couldn't live this down if she passed this opportunity. She then walked to her chambers to rest, now having confidence in herself. Tomorrow is another day.

Revised Chapter 2: Royalty
Chapter 3: Preparations Part 1
Returning to Ponyville and Fluttershy
I laid in the bed for the whole night. Not once did i drift off into my memories. I'm actually glad I didn't to be honest. I was able to rest my body and eyes so i was good to go. I got up and looked around, i opened the window curtain and a flash of bright light made me squint. Since i was a dragon i was naturally able to see in the dark so seeing the light so quickly hurt. My eyes quickly adjusted thankfully and i noticed the Sun was practically on level with my eyes. Celestia must have just rosin the Sun. I was able to see Ponyville from my window, it was amazing that Canterlot and Ponyville were so close. I turned to the door rubbing my eyes. I walked to the door and opened it, and noticed Mac was still standing there.
He heard me open the door and turned to look at me. "Good Morning Sarius. Did you sleep well?"
"Did you really stand there all night?" I asked concerned.
He frowned. "Yes, i have to. It's my duty to make sure no one attacks you while you sleep."
I sighed. "Well you can leave your post and get some rest of your own Mac. But before you do, may i ask where the shower room is?"
He raised an eyebrow. "The Shower room? Only the princesses can use them."
I cracked a sly smile. "Then it'll be our secret Mac. Besides I need to wash myself. And a shower will help ease my muscles."
He stared at me for a full minute before sighing. "Okay, Luna's is the closest one. Head that direction, take a right and go down pass 3 doors and the shower room will be on the right. It's quite a big room, so you should be able wash your wings too."
I smiled. "Thanks, I won't tell anyone Mac. And afterwards i have to head back to Ponyville, so I'll talk to Celestia before i leave."
He smiled. "Just try not to be caught using Luna's shower, I heard she doesn't like it."
I laughed and started walking towards the Shower room.
Luna was lying down on her bed. Surrounded by darkness and shadows was the way she liked her room to be. Not that she wanted it to look like she was evil, being the princess of the night meant she enjoyed the darkness. Though her room had stars which shined a little light in the room. She was still thinking about how she'll tell Sarius about her crush. She had all night to think about it, but every thoughtful attempt seemed like a bad idea for her.
She sighed, "Maybe it just isn't meant to be." she mumbled to herself.
Just then she heard foot steps. She got off the bed and edged close to the door to find the source of the sound. On closer inspection she was able to make out the sounds. They weren't hooves but claws, since she heard a slight click with every step.
"Was Sarius coming to see me? " She thought to herself. She felt her heart start beating a bit faster. As he got closer to the door her breathing started speeding up too. She was sweating now due to being so nervous. But Sarius passed the door and didn't stop. She then opened the door as quietly as she could. She was able to see his tail and body. He then stopped at her Shower room and entered.
Luna then had mixed feelings. She was mad that he was using her Shower room, but she was also curious as to why he would. Curiosity got the better of her and she sneaked out her room and silently closed the door with her magic. She then started walking slowly to her Shower room trying her best to not make a noise. She then sneaked a peek through the open doors and saw something that made her blush.
Sarius had turn on the water and just let it fall on his body. His hair was now hanging on the back of his neck. He must have turned the water to a hot level because steam was rising from his body. His slim body was appealing to her, he had a very muscular build for someone who was skinny. She was getting really hot, she thought it was the heat from the water but she was blushing a bright crimson red. She never noticed his tail was different at the tip till now. Instead of a tip it was an extra claw complete with bones and flexible muscles.
"Oh the things he could do to me with that. " She thought with a smile. She realized what just crossed her mind and her expression changed to shock. "By my Sister, What is wrong with me? I'm watching him shower and thinking naughty things. " She couldn't blame herself though, it was hard not to admire the sight before her. "But this is wrong. It's not right to watch him. I wouldn't like it if he watched me shower..... or would i? " She then started imagining him watching her shower and admiring the sight of her all wet and hot was enough to make her blush a bright red.
She turned away and shook her head. "Get a hold of yourself Luna. This is unbecoming of a princess, especially me. I wanted a chance to tell him about my feelings and i got one. I just have to wait for him to finish. " She sat in silence for a few seconds. "But maybe i can still watch. As long as i don't think dirty thoughts. I might learn something about him. " She then resumed watching making sure to not draft too far in her daydreaming.
She studied him seeing what she can learn from him. Sarius opened his wings but not to their full length, instead they were craved up as if he was shielding the ground from the light. But it wasn't the case it seemed, since a blue flame formed in his jaw and was released on the floor. It was a small flame, but once it came in contact with the wet floor hot steam rose up. Luna had to move her head away from the door to avoid getting burned.
"Ahhhh. That feels so much better. My wings felt so cramped up." Sarius let out a satisfying sigh.
Luna risked a look and saw he was using the steam to relief the strain and stress from his wings. "Interesting. I might consider trying that once. " She made a mental note for herself later. She kept watching hoping maybe there's more he can show. And she was glad she did, since the next thing Sarius did surprised her.
Drops of the water started raising up and forming a larger form above Sarius. "So he can manipulate and use water as well. I wonder what else he's capable of. " The large form of water then lowered on his body and spread out over his form. From head to tail he was covered in a watery body, even his wings were covered. The water then lifted off his body and started floating up separating into two forms. One levitated in front of him and he blow a blue flame so hot the water literally evaporated instantly and the other was dropped to the floor with a splash. Sarius then folded his wings and shook his body releasing drops of water.
Luna took this as a sign to stop, He was done with his shower and she didn't want to be caught watching him. She then turned and ran back to her room and shut the door. Little did she know that in her rush she dropped one of her shoes.
My wings haven't felt this good in so long that i nearly forgotten what's it like to have 3 extra muscles, two wings and a tail. My body was relaxed now and my tail claw morphed back into a regular tail, but i couldn't help but feel like someone was watching me. I just figured i was imagining it, but still I was using Luna's Shower room. Maybe, She was actually wondering why i was using her shower room. I slightly blushed but quickly got rid of the extra redness.
I stepped out the room and noticed a shiny silver horseshoe. I picked it up and realized it was in fact Luna's. I decided to pay her a visit to at least return her shoe. I stopped at her door and knocked. Luna opened the door a crack open but i could still she her turquoise colored eyes. She was giving me puppy dog eyes which caught me off guard.
I blinked once out of confusion. "Umm...." I was at a lost for words, I took a deep breath and calmed myself. "I.... Uh.... I found your shoe outside your shower room and thought i should give it to you." I showed her the shoe i was holding in my claw.
Her eyes then changed to a surprised look. "Oh. Thank you Sir Sarius, I was wondering where that went." Her horn glowed a dark but beautiful blue and the shoe was covered in the same aura and levitated past her and was back where it should be on her hoof. She noticed my tail and looked slightly confused at the sight of it. It was a regular dragon tail, no claw was seen.
"Why does she look confused about my tail?" I asked myself.
I didn't like being called Sir, but for some reason when Luna said it i felt flattered. "Well, that's what i do Luna. I help others."
I paused for a few seconds. As we stared into each other eyes i noticed just how beautiful she really was. Her star themed mane and blue fur made her glow in the dark. Eyes are the windows to the soul a famous individual once said. Well i can really see her soul and saw it was as dark and frighting as the night is. But it also had the beauty of the night, the glow of the moon and stars as well as ultimately giving that deep romantic feeling. For some reason i could feel myself getting hotter when i looked in her eyes. My heart started beating a bit faster than usual. I felt a familiar feeling overtake me. Was i feeling affection for another mare?
Luna raised an eyebrow. "Sir Sarius? Was there anything else you wanted to tell me?"
I realized i was staring and blinked to quickly broke eye contact. "Oh, Well yes there is. I'm heading back to ponyville soon and just wanted to let you know i plan on coming back for a visit once this whole ordeal with Kasulis is dealt with."
Luna was happily surprised. "You are? Oh, I would be happy to personally welcome you back. Just as long as you promise your coming back to me, I mean, to Canterlot to visit me and my sister again." She chuckled a little.
I was happy to know Luna will be waiting for me. "I promise Luna." I smiled.
Luna was so happy and excited that she wanted to give Sarius a big hug. But it would be informal of her, for now at least "If you want I could greet you with a hug to show how happy I am to see you again." She lowered eyelids half way and smiled.
I was getting uncomfortable from her look, but at the same time i was enjoying it. "Sure why not, anyway I have to go see your sister and ask her about something before i leave. I'll see you soon Luna."
She gave me a blissful look. "I hope so Sir Sarius." She gave me a wink which made me blush. She giggled and closed the door.
I scratched the back of my head and just laughed. I guess i was having a small affection for two mares but it wasn't serious right now so I quickly dismissed them. I had to focus anyway, there was stuff to do and I only had a limited amount of time. After everything calms down i'll have time to sort it out. I turned and headed to the Throne room. Once i was in that large hall, i saw Celestia was sitting at the end in her chair. I walked up to her.
She gave me a warm smile. "Oh hello Sarius. I thought you were heading back to Ponyville?"
I smiled. "Not yet Celestia. I came to ask a favor of you."
She raised her eyebrows. "Oh? What is it?"
"Well, I came to ask you if you could place Mac under my command. I would like to have someone of his experience helping me out." I paused for a few seconds and then thought of something else. "Oh. And since you and Luna want to help me deal with Kasulis, i need someway to contact you so i can keep you up to date with his status." I finished.
Celestia sat in silence for a few seconds. She then got up and walked towards me. "Well I'll be sure to have Mac reassigned under your command as soon as possible. As for Kasulis." She lowered her head and her horn was nearly touching my head. Her horn then glowed a bright yellow and i was invoked in the same aura. Her horn stopped glowing and she raised her head. "Now we can contact each other. Here's a quick explanation of how it works. You write a letter, and as you blow it out with your flame picture me and the letter will be sent to me."
I felt a little different to be honest. "So you basically cast a Letter spell on me." She nodded. "Alright. Thanks Celestia. I'll be leaving now but I'll still come by for a visit once this is all over." I gave her a reassuring smile.
She warmly smiled back. "I look forward to your return Sarius. Take good care of yourself."
I nodded. "I will, and you and Luna take care of yourselves too." And i took my leave, and walked out the castle and looked to the sky. The sky was as blue as it should be. But i couldn't help but feel like this wasn't going to last long. So i decided to waste no more time and took off for Ponyville.
I was heading to the library since i didn't know where the others live, and in my opinion I prefer going to see Twilight first. She reminded me of my sister, Circe. Always with her nose in the books and learning as much as she can. Though i don't think Twilight was the tinkering type. My sister loved to tinker, in fact much of my arsenal were results of my sister's tinkering.
Though one weapon i possessed was not the result of her tinkering. I had a sword that was infused with energtric power and was magical in nature. I could use my own energtric power to change the sword into different forms. I can cut the sword in half to make Duel Swords and since their infused with energtric power they adapt to their new forms. I could also take the Duel Swords and put their hilts together to make a Duel Blade. It is really useful weapon and it's called Energliss. It happens to be my main weapon.
I reached the Library and landed in front of the door and knocked. I waited for a few seconds. There was no answer. I knocked a little harder, still no answer. I then tried the door knob, and it was unlocked. I figured it would be a bad idea to just walk in, but since i was here to see the Mane Six anyway it shouldn't be a crime to enter. After all it was open anyway. I opened the door.
The library seemed empty, considering how really big it was. Though I've been in a few libraries with my sister before, i never seen such a large stash of books belonging to one individual before. I honestly didn't get a good look at the library before since i was there for a few minutes at best. I just looked at the books and noticed she had a lot of Non-Fiction books, most likely for research and studying. I saw a book labeled "Dragon Biology: Everything you need to know about Dragons " and my curiosity got the better of me. I took the book and started reading it. I always blamed my immense amount of curiosity on my mother who was as i always used to call "Mischief" since i swore she rubbed her curiosity off on me.
As i read the book, i noticed everything in the book was inaccurate but still managed to get a couple things correct. It suddenly dawned on me that a pony wrote this book and from what i experienced earlier ponies are naturally afraid of dragons. I didn't blame them, Dragons are closest things to being gods themselves since in my dimension they have been around since the prehistoric times. Though i noticed that only dragons of Fire were mentioned, i knew for a fact there were dragons with the power of the other elements. Lightning, Earth, Ice, Water, Light, Darkness, even Life and Death. Then there are a couple dragons capable of using all the elements simultaneously or have mastered their natural element and are able to wield them in many ways. These dragons were known to be called "Elder Dragons", I have fought all of them as part of my test to becoming the dragon i am now. I received knowledge of the elements as reward for defeating them since i would never kill anything that wouldn't think of using their power for evil. Though they had there natural urges and instincts to attack any whom they think lesser to them, but i still refuse to kill them. Instead i just set them straight, after all I'm part dragon as well so i too have my own urges and instincts, though mine are often more personal than involving others.
I was lost in my thoughts and the book that i didn't realize Spike was standing behind me. "Hey Sarius. Is there something you were looking for?"
I snapped back to reality, and closed the book. "Oh Spike. Sorry, I was looking for Twilight and this book got my attention." I put the book back and turned to face the young dragon. He was half my size but i couldn't help but feel he has a strong spirit. I stared into his Emerald colored eyes, and started seeing his soul, i quickly shifted my eyes somewhere else. Spike noticed my sudden eye movement.
"Sarius are you alright?" He sounded concerned.
I Nodded. "I'm fine Spike. Where is Twilight at?" I lied as i was not alright.
I had a unique ability that i never mentioned to anyone but my Father and Aunt. Kaila eventually found out on her own. I'm able to see the soul if I focused long enough. Most are unaware that the soul is bound to a body and shares the memories, emotions and deepest fears of the individual and even memories from past lives since the soul passes along. I often used this ability to help others with their troubles since i could tell what was bothering them. But this also meant Kasulis had access to the same ability. He would use someone's deepest fears to cause as much fear as possible. I tried not to make eye contact as much as possible, since Kasulis shares my knowledge he will have instant access to their fears.
Spike just looked at me. He assumed i was leaving out something, but he thought best not to try digging. "Well, Twilight is with Applejack and the others at Sweet Apple Acres building your house. I think their just about done with it."
"Oh really? Well i would like to pay a visit to them but i don't really know where the orchard is. So you mind helping me out?" I turned so my left side was facing him.
"Sure. I'm done with my chores anyway." He climbed on my back. I admit it was a little weird that a dragon was on my back, but i knew he couldn't fly. Not yet at least since i plan on helping him out with that.
I walked out the library and closed the door with my tail. "So Spike which way should i go?"
"That way, It's only a couple miles from here." He pointed to the south-east.
"Very well. Hold on tight Little Buddy." I unfolded my wings and let my full 6-foot wingspan show itself. And i took off the ground at a natural speed and was 3 stories off the ground in no time and started heading off in the direction Spiked pointed to making sure my speed was under 40 mph. "You doing okay Spike?" I shouted over the roar of the wind.
He was holding my shoulders rather tightly. "Yeah i think so. But i think my organs were left behind."
I laughed. "You'll get used to it Spike, Trust me. Just enjoy the thrill of flying Spike. It's certainly an awesome feeling to have."
Spike stood up feeling better now it seemed. "Just warn me when you take off the ground like that okay?"
I smiled. "Sure thing. It's certainly a dozy at first."
I saw the orchard and i was surprised to see how huge it was. A lot of Apple trees were growing there but out the corner of my eye i saw a few figures working. I assumed that was the Mane Six so i dove down to meet them. Spike didn't like my sudden descent, and held on to my neck. I landed softly and saw the house. I was amazed they were able to build a house of this size in one night. The house was about 20 feet in width and 15 feet in height. I suspected the length was also 20 feet making it a perfect square house. Meaning the house was big enough for me to stretch out my wings if needed. I folded my wings and silently took my spot behind the Mane Six.
"You think this is big enough for him Applejack?" Twilight asked concerned.
"Well we all worked all night to build this for him, so he should be fine." Applejack replied not sounding sure of herself.
"It'll work. He's not a big dragon. I think he just has big wings for someone of his size." Fluttershy sounded sure of herself. Hearing her sweet and soft voice made me happy to be back.
"Well he better like it. We spent all night building this for him. I couldn't even get a nap." Rainbow Dash sounded annoyed like i forced her to do this.
"Darling, As element of Generosity i assure you building this for him was the best choice to make. He helped us in the Crystal Empire, it's only natural we return the same kindness. Besides i doubt any of us would want him to live on the street or in a cave." I was happy to hear Rarity wanted to pay me back for my help. She might not be so bad after all.
"This is GREAT Now i can Throw him a Welcome to Equestria and Ponyville Party. THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!!" Pinkie Pie was certainly energetic and excited for me to be here.
"Well, I'll say i love it. It's Perfect." I made myself known.
"Thank goodness he's happy with it girls." Twilight said without realizing i was right behind her. They then perked up and turned around to see me standing there smiling and Spike sitting on my back. "Sarius! When did you get here?" Twilight sounded surprised.
"A minute or two ago. I had to stop off at your Library first seeing if you were home. Then Spike told me you six were almost done with my house so i decided to rush over here." Spike hopped off my back.
"But Spike, I gave you chores to do. Why are you here?" Twilight sounded betrayed.
"Don't worry Twilight. I took care of them, and since Sarius didn't know where the orchard was i thought it was perfect timing. So i directed him here." Spike sounded proud of himself.
Twilight gave him a hug and patted his head. "Oh Thank you Spike. I knew you can handle it, and thank you for showing Sarius where to go." Twilight said in a motherly tone.
I looked to Fluttershy who was hovering there waiting for me to say something. "See Fluttershy. I kept my promise. Now aren't you going to say hi?" I asked with a small smile.
Fluttershy's eyes brightened up and wasted no time tackling me with a tight hug. "It's good to see you Sarius." She looked at me with blissful eyes. I'll admit for a shy pegasus she was pretty strong, but luckily i dealt with hugs that nearly squeezed the life out of me. This hug was at least a 3 on a 1 to 10 scale of biggest and tightest bear hugs.
Everybody but Twilight were surprised to see Fluttershy's actions. "What the hays gotten into you Flutters? Your never like this." Rainbow Dash sounded like she knew Fluttershy for a long time.
Twilight spoke up. "They're dating Rainbow. This type of behavior is normal for couples." Everybody gasped at her explanation. I rolled my eyes.
"So this means that i not only get to throw a Welcome to Equerstria and Ponyville Party, But also a New time Couple Party! THIS IS AWESOME!!!!" Pinkie Pie Shouted out in pure Delight.
I looked at Fluttershy who understood what was on my mind immediately. She got off of me and looked at everybody else and spoke up. "Actually Twilight, we're not really dating but more a step back from it. We're readying ourselves for when we do date. Sarius said he's in need of positive feelings right now and i decided I'd help him and we decided on a few ground rules to make sure we don't take it seriously. For now anyway." She looked at me and winked. I smiled letting her know that's exactly what i would have said.
Applejack chimed in with a question. "So let me get this straight. Ya'll aren't dating but are still doing enough lovely doodle stuff to keep Sarius in a good mood?" I'll admit for Applejack's lack of love and romance she hit the nail on the head with that one.
I stood up and brushed some dirt off. "Yup, But I'm always in a good mood. It's Kasulis that I'm worried about, so staying in a good mood for me helps delay Kasulis for a little longer." I summed up Applejack's question with a better in depth explanation.
Fluttershy nodded confirming she understood my aim here. "Exactly. Kasulis is always in a Bad mood, so keeping Sarius in a Good mood helps ruin Kasulis bad mood." I thought she sounded adorable saying that. Using mood as a word in place of side.
Pinkie pie looked disappointed. "Aw, I guess that party will have to wait till after you two make it official. But i'll still throw you the other party Sarius."
I was beginning to like Pinkie, If only for her personality and energetic mood. She certainly reminded me of myself when i was younger. "I would suggest you hold off that party for now Pinkie. We need to deal with Kasulis first, then you can throw that party."
Pinkie put on a serious face. "Right. No Pony or Dragon is gonna keep me from doing what i love to do. And that's to make everypony happy and smiling. That and i love to throw parties." I knew she was serious but she still had that excited personality which made me crack a smile.
"I'll take your word on that Pinkie." I noticed they were all tired and exhausted which wouldn't be good for me if i was going to help unlock their hidden potentials. "I suggest you all head home and get some rest and get something to eat. I'll get myself comfortable in my home while you girls get ready for my visit." I then looked at Fluttershy she didn't seem as exhausted and tired compared to the others. Her hug was enough to tell me she wasn't. "Fluttershy I'll be visiting you first."
Fluttershy started blushing slightly. "Oh, Why me first? Maybe you can.... um.... see somepony else first, if you want."
"Your not as exhausted as the others Fluttershy. In order for my power to work properly you all need to be in top shape. It'll make it easier for me to locate your hidden potentials. When your like this everything is all jumbled and spread out, making it hard for me to find anything."
Everybody seemed to understand. Fluttershy was still blushing a little and was looking really nervous. "Okay.... if you say so...... it's just..... you... and me.... all by..... ourselves...... is making me......... uncomfortable." She started blushing a really dark red now and trying to hide behind her mane.
I started blushing too realizing what was going through her mind. "Oh. Don't take it as a personal visit but more a..... um...... friend stopping by to help with....... something." I was getting nervous now thanks to Fluttershy putting that thought in my head. It seemed to help a little but she was still quite nervous.
Twilight must have noticed things were getting really awkward between me and Fluttershy. "Your right Sarius, I am pretty exhausted and hungry. You take Fluttershy back to her Cottage and the rest of us will get ready." She then looked at Applejack. "AJ i believe Sarius will be visiting you next since we're close to your farm."
AJ nodded. "Yup. Ah just need some food and Ah'll be raring to go."
I looked to Fluttershy who was as her name hinted being shy. "So i'll let you lead the way. I don't know where you live." I laughed nervously.
"Okay." Fluttershy squeaked. She slowly got up and started walking towards the edge of the forest and i followed her.
As we walked along the forest's edge, I was sensing quite a few things in the forest itself. Since my aunt was Mother Nature i could tell when something was off about plants, trees, animals and often times the very air itself. I'm even able to communicate with animals. This forest certainly felt off to me, almost as if it were "alive". Plus i felt like such a place held deep secrets within it's roots.
I stopped at the entrance and stared in the open mouth of the forest. I suddenly felt a powerful presence, but only for a second. Whatever blush or funny feelings i had in my gut from walking with Fluttershy was replaced with a instinct of readying to stand my ground against someone or something. I hadn't noticed Fluttershy was still walking a few feet before slowly turning her head left to see if i was still there. When i wasn't she lost her blush and was no longer cowering behind her mane.
"Sarius?" She looked to her right and then behind her and noticed i was looking pretty serious staring at the Forest. She ran up to me worrying i saw something that might be of great concern. When she saw nothing was there she pressed her hoof against my arm. "Um, Sarius are you alright?"
I was snapped back to reality and looked Fluttershy in the eyes. I could see her concern. "I'm fine, but i feel something is off about this forest. I can't place my claw on it though."
She shivered. "Well, This is the Everfree Forest. There's lots of scary things in there. It's not a safe place to be wandering around on your own, especially at night. My Cottage is close by. I'm sure you must be feeling hungry Sarius. I'm a good cook if I say so myself." She then resumed walking. I took one last glance at the Forest and made a note to myself to check it out later and followed Fluttershy.
When we arrived at her Cottage the first thing i noticed it was like the Library Twilight lived in, it was made out of a tree almost and there were a lot of various animals running around. But once i made a noise they saw me and ran away out of fear.
"Sorry Sarius, My little animal friends aren't used to having a dragon around expect Spike. But Spike is a small dragon so he doesn't really scare them easily."
I shock my head. "It's okay Fluttershy, I can sense their fear and hear them mentioning some very fearful words about me."
Fluttershy was shocked i could hear the animals voices. "You understand them too?" I nodded. "Wow. I never thought i would meet somepony else or a dragon in this case that could understand and talk to animals like i can." She started flapping her wings excitedly and took off the ground a few feet. "How does a dragon like yourself have that ability?" She asked with extreme curiosity.
I smiled. "Well my aunt happens to be Mother Nature believe it or not. In my dimension she's practically linked with the Earth and other planets that have life on it. So I managed to get a few abilities from her. One is being able to talk to animals. Another is being able to understand and know how the Earth feels. Basically plants, tress and often times the very air itself. And Lastly the power to use the elements Earth, Air and Water even a bit of Life."
Fluttershy was amazed. "Oh my. That's amazing Sarius. I never thought you were more than a fire dragon."
I chuckled. "Well, I'm full of surprises Fluttershy. As we hang out more you'll see just how much i have in store."
She started blushing again. "Oh i look forward to hanging out with you more Sarius. Your the first real dragon i ever managed to talk to."
I lowered my head. "I can understand why." Fluttershy wasn't afraid of me. But i knew better. Once she or anyone saw how potentially dangerous i am they will end up being scared and clinging to their lives hoping i would spare them or in some cases like with Luna or Celestia try to kill me to protect their subjects and loved ones which is foolhardy in my eyes. I knew how dangerous i was, but trying to ensure that others know i'm not a threat is hard when they seen even a small amount of what i'm capable of especially considering i know the limit to my power scares even me. And trying to kill or defeat someone or something you know little of is near impossible. I would know that better than anyone, since i've been in that type of situation before several times. "I guess it's true. Sometimes your worst enemy is often yourself." i thought to myself.
"Sarius, Are you alright? You look pretty down and depressed." Fluttershy sounded very worried.
I just sighed and tried to smile but ending up having a small smile. "I'm fine, just recalling bad memories that's all." I looked at her and my smile instantly widen a bit. "But we're getting distracted, i'm here to help you out so let's get to it."
Fluttershy smiled knowing i was okay at least. "Okay, i'll show you in." She hovered to the door and opened it.
As i entered the, rather small, door i noticed the inside of the cottage was filled with bird houses, mouse holes and was lined with simple but rather good looking furniture. It almost seemed like an animal shelter. I saw a set of stairs that told me there was a second floor which was her bedroom i assumed. The kitchen was to the left, and was in plain sight. Not much else was needed to be seen, expect how clean, organized and pretty everything seemed considering she was the only one living here.
"I'll go cook up some breakfast for you. So i'll be right back." Fluttershy trotted to the kitchen to cook.
I just sat on the couch and spread my legs across the length of it. It was just big enough for me to stretch out my hind legs. However before i could make myself comfortable, i noticed a white bunny was eyeballing me. He was sitting on the table in front of me and staring at me with a serious glare.
-You think you can just make yourself comfortable in my friends house so quickly? Well you got some nerve buster.- The bunny was actually talking to me. Which kinda surprised me considering the other animals ran at the sight of me.
Whatever goofy or silly face i had quickly turned serious as i stared right back at the bunny unblinkingly as if i was trying to win a staring contest. "Well excuse me, I thought i was a guest of hers. I didn't think she would mind. But you obviously are, did i take your favorite seat or something little rascal?" I shot back.
The bunny was getting angry to say the least. -You better behave yourself. You may be a Dragon but i won't hesitate to give you a beating if it meant getting some respect out of you. You best watch your step.-
I cocked my eyebrow up. "You threatening me, Albino shrimp?" I chuckled lightly. The bunny's expression changed to a peeved one. "You got guts little guy, I'll give you that. But maybe you should think before threatening someone who can cook you alive and eat you as an appetizer." I showed my teeth all 32 of them. Sharp as daggers an inch and a half long but still strong enough to tear into tougher scales of dragons and pierce their flesh. And for good measure i let a little blue flame dance around in my maw to show i had the fire power to back up my threat. The bunny then slumped his ears down and looked at me with a face i knew was fear and with a broken resolve. I turned the fire off and shut my maw with a smile. "That's better." I could tell i won this bout. The bunny just sat there still staring at me with fear but still showed hints of anger.
I could tell what he was actually concerned about, Fluttershy. And intimidating him like i did, must of made him scared for Fluttershy than himself. My smile melted into a frown. "I can promise you, I'm no threat to you or Fluttershy. The last thing on my mind is harming someone." The bunny's fear was going away, but he still had his doubts. I didn't blame him, I can't even trust myself half the time anyway.
Fluttershy exited the kitchen with a tray. A plate had scrambled eggs on it with toast on the side and a glass of water. She sat it down on the table in front of me, and noticed the bunny was standing there staring at me. "Oh, i see you already met my pet bunny Angel. I made some eggs for you so i hope you enjoy them." She smiled.
I looked at the white bunny. "Angel really? Who would actually name an animal this small with a big ego that? Lucifer would make more sense. " I thought to myself as I ate the food Fluttershy cooked for me. It tasted good for the most part, the typical breakfast i guess. As i finished i felt full and my energy fully restored. I was good to go now. I got up off the couch and stretched a little bit, before drinking the glass of water. My body certainly felt cleaner now with water running through it. I took a deep breath.
I looked at Fluttershy in the eyes. "Thank you. Now shall we get started Fluttershy?" I took a few steps towards her.
Fluttershy started getting a little uneasy to say the least. "Okay." She dropped herself to the ground and folded her wings and started blushing. She lowered her head in shyness. "So..... What now?" I walked up to her left side and placed my right claw on her chest where her left lung would be. She instantly tensed up and her blush turned her usual yellow face completely red. "AH! What are you doing Sarius?! Your making me feel really uncomfortable."
"Shhhh. Relax." I closed my eyes and started concentrating. "Forgive me for suddenly touching you in a rather sensitive area. But to unlock your potential i need to be in physical contact with you. Relax your body and clear your mind, it'll make it easier for me and help make this faster."
Fluttershy did her best to try and relax but with Sarius touching her like this it made it quite difficult. Clearing her mind was even harder with all the thoughts going through her head right now. She managed to relax her body after a few minutes, and she tried focusing on one thought "What will my Hidden power be like?". Since she was thinking about her hidden power, it made it easier for Sarius to find it.
I had to wait a few minutes for her to calm down. I noticed she had one thought on her mind and it helped. I looked through her entire body looking for the locked source. This may sound perverted but know that i saw nothing in her body expect darkness. My ability to unlock potentials makes it so i can find a locked source of power in a living being. A lot of cases the power is hard to notice, since it's rather small and considering the fact it's locked prevents it from growing properly. But this time Fluttershy's power was almost impossible to miss, it was rather large considering it's locked up. But what caught me off guard though, was i was familiar with this power. It was Energtric, a Pony with the power of Energtric is new to me. As far i know only dragons possess that power, and it was very rare to find anything else with that power. Though my aunt has that power, but considering she was the goddess of the Earth, Air, Water and Life itself it was no surprise plus she's the sister of a dragon god.
I noticed off the bat it was larger than it was supposed to be. It was locked so i know it couldn't expand past a certain point but the fact it was actually growing was amazing. I assumed Fluttershy was doing something that actually required the use of Energtric. Then it hit me, Twilight mentioned something about Fluttershy using a stare to scare a dragon. The Stare, now it all made sense, if the Stare used Energtric energy it can easily put the scare in dragons. So if she was using the Stare a few times before now that will explain why her hidden power was growing.
"Alright i found it. Let me know if you feel anything." I then focused on that single spot and worked my power. Once i unlocked it, the power ran wild and quickly covered the darkness with a brilliant blue color. I opened my eyes, and the first thing i noticed was Fluttershy was covered in a blue aura. Her expression showed she was surprised and a little scared of her new power. Energtric was certainly a thing to be afraid of, it's capable of doing anything as long as the individual has enough energy to spare. For me it's my Life energy, so if it's spent I'm completely vulnerable and easy to kill. I'm not entirely sure if Fluttershy's works the same way or not, but i certainly needed to find out.
Fluttershy turned to look at me waiting for me to tell her what to do. "Alright, this power of yours is a real doozy. I would know, it's exactly like mine." She was shocked to know she and I had the same power. "Okay, The first thing you need to know about Energtric, is that it's capable of doing anything. So be careful as to what you use with it. I'll teach you a few basic things you need to know. The rest you'll have to learn on your own. Follow me." I opened the door and walked out, Fluttershy followed suit.
I walked to small clearing not far from her cottage. I turned to her and looked her in the eyes. "I need you to pay close attention. This power is not easy to learn but easy to use. We'll start with the bare basic, how to utilize the energy." I sat down and raised my front claws, Fluttershy did the same. "First, visualize the energy in your body like its water. It's constantly flowing but the source is located in your heart. One thing to note is that your energy is linked to your mind and emotions. If your emotions were to run wild, so will the energy. So you must keep your emotions under control. Now to actually bring it out."
I lifted my front claws and placed them close together. "The energy is easy to pull out. Just relax your muscles, and let the energy flow. Then just think of your claws, or in your case hooves, are channels for energy to run through. All you have to do is stop the flow in between and let it grow until..." I let my energy flow through my claws and started building it up. Then a small blue spark formed in the space between. "You make a spark." Fluttershy leaned in to get a closer look.
It was certainly beautiful to look at. The brilliant blue light shined a blue tint on Sarius' dark red scales and silvery underside. She could sense the amount of power this 'spark' was putting out, which surprised her as to how she could. The 'spark' was raw energy at best, she recalled Sarius having an outburst of energy back in the Crystal Empire but she was barely able to see the energy since it happened so fast, but now that she was seeing that very energy at a smaller size she couldn't help but think of how it was a sight to look upon.
I noticed Fluttershy's reaction to my spark, and took note she does not yet know just how dangerous this power is, even when it's a just a spark like this. I let the flow resume and pulled my claws apart cutting off the flow between the channels. Fluttershy sat up and looked me in the eyes. "Your turn. Do it exactly as i described."
Fluttershy held up her front hooves and looked at them with a confused expression. She put her hooves close together just like Sarius did and started visualizing that energy she saw. She could feel the flow of the energy in her body and jumping from one hoof to the other so she tried making it stop in between her hooves. For a few minutes nothing was happening, and her face was showing strain and tensity as she tried her best to create her 'spark'.
I saw Fluttershy was struggling with this so i let my instinct as a mentor take over. "Relax yourself, Fluttershy." She looked at me with a sad look like she about to cry. I could sense her fear of failing, but i knew her current course of action would result in nothing but stress since i was in her position before though mine was of a different fear. "You can't force it out or make it stop. If you do, it'll fight back. And that's an unwinnable battle. Relax your body and clear your mind, just let the energy flow. The energy will collide with itself as it's traveling between the channels so focus on that and let it expand and collect the energy that's thrown out." She listened and proceeded to relax her body and mind. She took rhythmic breathes to help, she remembered her lessons from when she was trying to recover from her fears. A deep but silent breath in through the nose, and out the mouth. I instantly recognized her technique of relaxation which was the best way to do so.
She then started feeling the energy flowing between her hooves. He was right it was colliding with itself and some of it was being thrown out as a result, so she started pulling that energy in and letting it become a magnet for the rest. A flicker appeared for a split second but then a glow was seen in her hooves. The glow then started growing into the 'spark' Sarius showed, and a smile started forming on her face. She was overly happy she was to do it. "Fluttershy, lock out the spark so no more energy can enter. If you don't the spark will grow out of control until you stop the flow or let it go." Sarius suddenly sounded serious and worried. Fluttershy then took notice of the spark getting bigger, and did what he instructed. She able to lock the spark and took a sigh of relief. She looked at Sarius with a small smile, who nodded in response.
Fluttershy then let the spark disappear and let it flow like it's meant to and separated her hooves for good measure. I was impressed to see she made a spark and maintain it so quickly. A quick learner like myself, I was liking her more now than ever. "Very good Fluttershy. Just remember what i taught you." I stood up on all fours and she looked at me curiously. "Now i'll teach you how to bring it out in a more concentrated form." She nodded showing she understood and stood up as well.
After about 45 minutes or so, she was able to bring out the energy easily and keep it under control. Unfortunately i was only showing her how to bring it out without essentially wasting it. The last thing i want her to experience is the exhaustion and feeling of weakness from overusing or wasting precious energy. "Just keep one thing in mind Fluttershy, 'This energy is a part of you. Don't use it if you think you don't need it. Save it for when you do.'. You can stay in a fight a lot longer by doing that." I spoke from experience.
Fluttershy was getting the hang of it, but one thing still loomed her mind. A question she needed answered. "Sarius, May i ask something? It might be..... personal." She finished with slight hesitation.
I looked her dead in the eyes, and raised my eye brow. "You can ask me anything, personal or not. Though i would trend lightly when it comes to 'Personal' questions. There are some that bring back...... bad memories." I shuddered and cringed at the thought of one particular memory.
Fluttershy noticed my sudden body action and took my advice, though she was sure her question wasn't going that route. "Well. I was curious as to." She paused for a few seconds. "If you know anypony else, that has this potential besides yourself?" She let out in an almost small tone.
I was silent for a good few seconds. Fluttershy thought for a second that she hit personal ground until I broke the silence. "Yeah.... Mostly it's other dragons that have it. But i know someone who isn't a dragon but has the full potential of one." I closed my eyes and pictured her in my head. "Her name is Kaila Randence, much like me she's a hybrid. Her DNA is similar to mine with the only major difference of having Phoenix DNA in her instead of a Dragon." Fluttershy was awed in knowing i was friends with a phoenix but she was suddenly overcome with another question.
"She's part phoenix? Does that mean you two are....." She paused for a second to try and get the right word. "Rivals?" Fluttershy knew well that phoenixes and dragons don't get along well.
I simply smiled since i knew why she would ask. "No, we're not. My rival is actually my brother." I opened my eyes and focused on the teal-blue eyes that were Fluttershy's. "Believe it or not, Kaila is the one i managed before." I thought back to what i said to Fluttershy to help her remember. "I told you that you reminded me a of certain girl i knew back in my dimension. Well that will be Kaila." I paused for a moment to let it sink in.
Fluttershy was.... shocked would be an understatement right now. She was beyond shocked, she was dumbfound. She had no words for what she heard. Nor could she find anything to say in general. Sarius was actually romantically involved with a phoenix. She was hoping Sarius was joking and that he will say so. But it seems he wasn't. After a few seconds she finally got urge to ask something that might be too much for her. "So....umm.... You two are..... dating?" She chuckled lightly and nervously.
I nodded and looked to the sky. "Yup, and to add to it. We even have twins, most likely 2 years old now. Heh, that actually came by really fast. I didn't expect that and if i did i wouldn't be expecting twins. Boy was that a real shocker to me and my sibs. My sister realizing she was getting to be an aunt. OH MAN her expression was priceless, I think she actually passed out on the spot." I started laughing. After a few seconds there was silence. "Uh, Fluttershy?" I looked back to find 'she' had fainted. I scratched my head. "Um.... Too much?" I asked myself.
After waiting a few minutes, Fluttershy finally came around. She was woozy to say the least. "Uh. What happened?" She looked around for Sarius and found him exiting her cottage with a glass of water. "Sarius? What happened?"
"Shh. Take it easy, I told you some..... shocking news about me." I looked worried i might have went too far with my personal relationship with Kaila. I handed Fluttershy the glass of water. "Here, drink up. If's there's one thing i learned in my 4 years of training is that water is the best thing to drink for Energtric wielders like us." She took the glass and slowly drank it.
After taking a few gulps Fluttershy decided to confirm if she heard Sarius right. "So.... your a father?"
I looked away and focused my attention on the ground for no reason. "Yeah. I..... don't think about it much." I paused for a couple seconds. "It's hard enough having to maintain balance in the Multi-Verse. So trying to be a father to twins who might take my place one day is..... too much for me to handle at this point." I closed my eyes and imagined my cute little twins growing up without their father, like i have. Which caused my eyes to starting tearing up. "I was raised without a father and eventually a mother as well. I could even say I barely knew my dad, so when i think about my twins I..... keep seeing them grow up without me being there." My tears were few and slow. "I even imagine seeing them again and they..... Don't even... recognize me as..... Their father." I finished with a somewhat broken voice.
Fluttershy felt guilty for asking and started tearing up as well. She moved closer to Sarius and embraced him in a firm but warm hug. Her wings extended around his neck. "I'm so sorry, Sarius. I didn't mean to make you cry." Her voice was shaking from sadness.
Her sudden hug and embrace was a little surprising to say the least. I could dare say it felt like my Mother's. I don't have many memories of my mother, but i will always remember her warm smile and loving embrace. My tears stopped, and i was able to smile a little thanks to her. "Fluttershy.... You did nothing. I just roamed too far with that subject." I wiped off my face. "I should have told you that being a father is a real sensitive subject for me." I looked in Fluttershy's puffed up eyes and wiped a tear from her cheek. She smiled a little. "I still have one more thing i need to teach you." I stood up and Fluttershy did the same. She looked better knowing i wasn't crying.
"Alright this is the last thing i'll teach you. I will want you to practice this when i leave. You'll need to get the hang of how it works. And considering your not used to standing on two legs will be the challenge here." I walked up beside her and stood at least two feet away from her so she can see what i do. "Alright, i showed you how to bring it out, now it's time to use it. I'll show you the best defense this power has to offer. But you will have to start with something simple. 'Energtric Barrier' is a simple defense use, but can save your butt a lot if you use it right. I would know."
"Okay, first off you'll have to be able to stand up on two legs for at least a few seconds to pull it off. Try doing that now." Fluttershy tried standing up on her two hind legs and almost instantly fell back on all four legs. "I know it's not easy, but the easiest way to do this is to find the right way to balance yourself." I stood up on my two hind legs. "I can easily do this since i'm used to being able to do this. But might i suggest you try extending your strongest leg backward for support." I demonstrated this by putting my right claw back a few inches. My right side was naturally stronger than my left. "Alright you try now." Fluttershy took a few seconds trying to remember which side is stronger. She then managed to stand up and was about to fall over but she instantly replied with putting her left leg back. She was a little unstable at first but was able to stay up without falling over. "Great. Now i'll show you how to use the Barrier."
I put my arms out in front of my chest in a cross formation. "First you have to form an X with your front legs. Let the energy flow in your legs and focus it." She did as i instructed and though she had little trouble standing up due to her being nervous of falling on her face. "Good, now the next thing you do, is focus all the energy in your front legs until they start glowing." I let the energy build up in my arms and they started glowing blue. "Then you just push it out." I pushed my arms forward quickly letting the energy disperse in front of me. The energy spread out to look like a barrier. The energy stayed until i lowered my arms and the energy dissipated with it. I looked at Fluttershy. "Your turn."
She did exactly as i did. Her front legs started glowing and she pushed with all her might. The energy came out in the same fashion as mine only it pushed Fluttershy back with it. She started to fall over but i quickly caught her. She looked confused. "I did it, but why did i fall over?" She tilted her head at me.
I helped her on her feet as i recalled what happened the first time i did it. "I guess forgot about that. Pushing out the energy is easy, but you have to keep in mind that it has a recoil effect. 'With every force there's an equal counter-force' as my father says. I'll admit the same thing happened to me when i was learning." I blushed and giggled at the thought of falling on my butt due to losing my balance rather quickly. "I just didn't have anyone to catch me." Fluttershy giggled. "You get used to it and quickly adjust to it. I can assure you that. Just keep practicing."
I then felt my internal clock chime as if it was telling me something. Then i realized it was 11:00 am and practically lunch-time. "Ah crap. I nearly forgot i have to go see the others." I looked at Fluttershy. "You just keep practicing and when i get back if you get the hang of using the Barrier i'll teach the stronger version. The 'Energtric Shield' which is my personal favorite. I have to go see Applejack now." I then recalled what i told Celestia. "Hey you got a pen and paper i can use?"
Fluttershy trotted into her cottage and brought back a blue pen which was in her mouth and a small parchment. "Will this work?" She mumbled with the pen in her mouth. I nodded and took the parchment and the pen and sat at the closest table and started writing a letter to Celestia. I paused for a few seconds to see if i sensed Kasulis stirring in me. So far he's been behaving himself i could still sense his presence but barely. As i finished up the letter i read over it to make sure i didn't need to make adjustments.
Dear Celesita,
I'm sure your expecting this letter by now, so i'll give you the update. So far Kasulis is under control, but the way i know him it won't last long. This may be to throw me off and catch me with my guard down. So be ready just in case. If he takes control i won't be able to warn you. I did manage to give you a sensor when you casted this spell on me to let you know when he does. As long as you can sense my essence we're fine. Sorry for doing that without your permission, just taking percussions. He's not to be taken lightly. I'm with Fluttershy right now, so i'll send you an update after i help the Mane Six one by one. So you'll get a frequent update.
Your new Friend, Sarius Trusdale.
P.s. Tell Luna i said Hi and that i haven't forgotten our deal.
Once i read over it very carefully, i nodded to myself. "This will do." i assured myself. I then rolled the letter up and thought about Celestia. Her multi-colored flowing mane, magenta eyes and pure white fur came into my head. I blow a small flame and burned the parchment. Much to my surprise the flame wasn't blue at all, but golden. The parchment itself also disappeared in a gold smoke. After a minute passed i assumed the letter got to her.
I then looked at Fluttershy. "Alright i guess i'll be heading off now. I'll be back after i visited the others and helped them out." I then sat up and walked to an open spot. "I'll see you later." I then spread out my wings and jumped and started flapping them causing the air to be pushed rather intensely. I then took off towards the orchard. Leaving a mess of leaves and Fluttershy with a new messy mane behind.
Kasulis' essence began stirring. 22% active.

Prologue (Revised): Explaining the Key Points
Chapter 1: A Different World
I must have fallen asleep cause when I opened my eyes. Everything seemed different. My name is Sarius Trusdale, and I'm a human-dragon hybrid and in human years I'm 22 but in dragon years I might be 13 or 14. Anyway, I was laying in the middle of a clearing in a forest with a lake in the middle. If I didn’t know better I would think I had a daydream. I got up and started heading to the lake and noticed I was walking differently.
Its crystal clear blue color made the perfect mirror to look through and I was able to see myself very clearly. I saw a red dragon, with flowing short brown hair and hazel green eyes staring back at me and a silver underside. I unfolded my wings and saw the image did the same. The wings were nearly 3 to 4 feet long certainly a big wingspan for a small teenage dragon but it symbolizes my connection to Durlex, The God of the Sky and Air as well as a Father to all dragon kind and my, not blood related in a sense, father. I possessed his DNA in me so he was my DNA related father. The wings had a blueish taint to them showing my connection to Energtris while the bone part was also red like the body. Then I turned to extend my tail to see it in the mirror lake, it too was red and very flexible and where the tip of the tail should be was a claw with flexible talons to help for grabbing. Once i relaxed my tail muscle the claw morphed into a regular dragon tail. It was a special function in my DNA that was useful in surprising my enemies. I definitely wasn’t imaging this nor dreaming but I wanted to make sure. I touched my lower abdomen and felt a slight pain indicting it was a bruise. This was real.
I took a minute to look around at the landscape. It didn’t look much different from home. Part of me thought I was just in a memory, which I have instead of dreams, the other told me I was sent here by my uncle who was a dimensional being. I assumed it was the latter; this was too real to be a memory. My uncle would often do this to me, drag me out of one dimension and shove me in another, but only because he needs me to do my job in that certain dimension. I was meant to keep the Balance between Good and Evil. There was only one scale and it extended to all known dimensions, timelines, and universes. It may sound hard to keep the Balance but it really isn’t, mostly I just had to stay in a couple dimensions to maintain it because evil was tipping it a little too much. The rest were able to stay in sync.
So I had to figure out what the problem was here. I looked at the sun; it was in the same place I last saw it. Though something was off about it, I could sense some sort of aura around it almost as if someone or something was controlling it. Then suddenly one word popped into my head “Magic”. It just came out of nowhere which I could only assume was the Dimensional Mind kicking in. To help me out, my uncle would pesto upon me this power which allows me to recall memories and knowledge of a dimension I was sent to. But it would flow in my mind a little bit at a time to ensure I’m not crushed by the immense weight of knowledge and memory.
Now I had a sense of what to expect from this dimension, or so I thought. So I decided to stop wasting time and find out where I was supposed to be. I extended my wings and took off the ground. I flew up a few feet above the trees, which seem like were 30 to 40 feet tall. I was able to see a bit more of the landscape, there lay mountains to my north, the rest of the forest with a mountain containing it to the east, the west showed a bit more of the forest which led to a hilly plain and finally to my south was the last little bit of the forest which now seems like woods to me since it was so small and a road that led to a village of some sort. I thought for a few seconds to start heading towards the village but an idea suddenly hit me. I decided to use my unique ability “Aura Sense” to search for any high aura levels or large amounts of negative energy. I could only assume I had to find an individual who was well immersed to this dimension to help me fit in as well as help me fill in the blanks. This time it was a memory of sorts, not knowledge.
It didn’t take me long to locate where my designation lies, the North. I felt an above average amount of negative energy there. So without thinking more into it I took off in that direction. I was able to fly faster in this form due to me having four legs, which I would most likely not get used to, that hampered my speed on the ground. I think I was flying at 100 mph because the landscape was moving out of sight in seconds and before I knew it I was flying over what seemed like the North Pole. Suddenly the dark energy I was sensing was rising rapidly and I was able to see the source of it. It was a fog of darkness that seems to stretch for miles, nothing that I haven’t seen before. I slowed down to see where it was heading and noticed some strange figures heading toward a dome of light. The fog was heading towards them at full speed it then suddenly started to rise and form a head.
“What kind of head is shaped like that?” I thought to myself.
The head looked like a horse, with a horn growing out the center of its head. Its eyes were red but the weird thing was it had a green shadow flowing out its eyes.
“Now I’ve seen everything,” I said to myself.
The Black fog head was confronting a small group of 7 ponies and a small dragon. Ponies and a dragon? Okay, this is getting really weird now. But it didn’t seem to bother me much for some reason. Then 6 of the ponies and the dragon started running towards the dome. The one left behind shot a laser out its horn so that pony is like the shadow creature and aimed at the giant head but the giant head just split apart and the laser passed through hitting nothing and reformed into a head. It’s an entity made of shadow, you can’t expect to hit something like that. It then started closing in on the pony that was cowering but still holding its ground against the shadowy creature.
“Now that’s my kind of pony,” I said to myself knowing I would do the exact same thing.
Something told me this is where I come in. I dashed to interpret the shadowy being and created my Energtris Shield, one of my favorite defense powers, and stopped the creature in its tracks. I noticed a small piece of it managed to reach its target, the pony’s horn and covered it in obsidian. I came face to face with the shadow and noticed it had teeth sharper than a regular horse’s teeth. When it hit my shield I staggered it, which didn’t surprise me since it happens when someone rams into my shield. The Shield itself is powerful enough to withstand almost anything that hits it. The only thing that was able to break it was a blast of focused Energtris energy. And my power can be shut down with Cobalt and Lapis which is cobalt grounded up. So I had no worry this thing will get through.
I turned to the pony that I saved and saw it was white with hair and a tail colored jet blue with cyan streaks, blue hoofs and a tattoo of sorts shaped like a magic shield on its thigh. It opened its eyes probably closed them in the response of a flinch and they were cyan colored. It stared at me with wide eyes.
“What, Who are you?” Said the mysterious pony who sounded like a male.
“No time. Get to safety now. I can’t keep my shield up for much longer.” I wasn’t lying either. I barely had time to recover my energy from my battle and the shield takes quite a bit of energy from me and when it gets hit it takes more energy. I had just enough energy to make a weak shield which luckily was enough to hold back the shadow.
The male pony seemed to understand since he nodded and ran towards the dome. I turned my attention back towards the shadow that just recovered from the shock. It stared right at me. It didn’t seem surprised like the other pony. Instead, it showed a sign of confusion.
“A Dragon? Here?” Said the shadow who also sounded male.
“Sorry, we can’t get aquatinted properly. But I gotta go now.” I dropped my shield and turned towards the dome and headed straight for it.
“ARRGHHH!!! ”
The shadow seemed angry now and tried grabbing me but was too slow to catch me as I entered the dome. The shadow couldn’t enter the dome it seems. A protection spell. It seemed like it was the only way to explain it. Things were starting to be pieced together which was good.
The stallion I saved was a little dazed but perfectly fine expect for the obsidian-covered horn of course. I noticed the 6 ponies and dragon from earlier were standing in front of a crystal made gateway. Then one turned around and saw the stallion dazed and ran towards him. This one was Lavender colored and had purple hair as well as a horn of its own. I concluded that these two were Unicorns which explained the laser the stallion shot. It also had a tattoo but it was a star instead.
“Are you okay?” The Lavender pony said. A female it seems.
“I’m fine. But I’m afraid my magic is useless now” Said the Stallion and put a hoof to his horn.
“At least you’re not hurt.” She looked up at me and went wide-eyed. “AHHHHHH !!!”
The others then turned to see what she was screaming about and noticed me. Some were scared, one was looking at me with excitement, another was looking like it was ready for a fight, another was acting tough, and the dragon stared in amazement.
“A DRAGON!! ” Yelled the Lavender pony. “What’s a dragon doing here?”
“Calm down Twily. He saved me.”
The mare looked at him in shock.
“He saved you?”
“Yeah. If it wasn’t for him I would be in worse shape.” He looked at me and smiled. I got a friend now.
I suddenly felt drained and dropped from the air. I hit the ground with a loud thud.
Everybody was shocked by my sudden action .The Stallion ran towards me. “Hey. You okay buddy?”
“Ugh. I’m drained… I haven’t recovered yet.”
“Recovered? From what? Sombra?”
“So that thing is called Sombra huh? No. Let’s just say I was in a massive battle not too long ago. And I’ve yet to recover from it.”
“Battle? Who are you and where did you come from?” Asked the Lavender mare
“I’m from a different dimension.”
“A different dimension?” Asked the Stallion and Mare
I managed to get on my feet. “Yeah. I’m Sarius Trusdale.”
Apparently, the stallion was important to her cause she was calm now. “I’m Twilight Sparkle. And this is my BBBFF, Shining Armor.”
“BBBFF? Big Brother Best Friend Forever?” I guessed.
“Yeah. How did you know what it meant?” Twilight seemed surprised.
“A pretty good guess.” Which it was and wasn’t hard to figure out for me since I knew what BFF meant. “Now, I assure you I’m here to help you.”
“Help me? Why?” Twilight asked.
“I guess with that.” I pointed at the Shadow. “That seems like a big deal to me.”
“Hold on ya’ll!” An Orange Mare stepped forward. She’s certainly like a Farm/Country like pony not because of her accent but the way her mane was tied up with a band and her surprising muscular appearance that showed she’s done a whole lot of work. Her tattoo was an apple. “How do we know we can trust him?”
“I’m with Applejack on this Twilight. He’s a dragon and you remember what happened last time we had a dealing with one.” This mare was sky blue with a Rainbow colored mane. This one’s tattoo was a rainbow colored lightning bolt shooting from a cloud. I’m starting to wonder what the deal is with the Tattoos. One thing was different about her she had wings. A Pegasus. So there’s Ponies, Unicorns and Pegasi.
“Yup Now I’ve seen everything .” I thought to myself.
“He saved me and seemed to be able to handle Sombra with no problem. I’m sure if he wasn’t friendly he wouldn’t bother protecting me. Is that enough proof for you guys?” Said Shining Armor. He was actually standing up for me. I know I saved his life but he barely knows me. Saving someone from certain doom really does have an effect on people or ponies in this case.
“He’s got a point AJ. If that doesn’t say ‘I’m a good guy’ then nothing does I guess.” Another mare but she was pink. Straight pink, mane and all, though her mane was a different shade of pink, if I didn’t know better I would think she was a walking pile of bubblegum that can talk. Her mane stood out the most for me; it looked like an old 80’s disco hairstyle with a single long bang hanging out which looked like she can carry something on it. Her Tattoo was balloons. She also seems to have a personality that says she consumes too much sugar and caffeine.
“Thank you, Pinkie. I’m glad some pony can see a good dragon when she sees one.” Twilight shot a look at the Rainbow mare. Pinkie huh. Says a lot.
“Fine. Y'all made your point. He doesn’t look bad to me anyway.” Applejack loosened up I could tell.
“Okay, that’s fair.” The Rainbow one got up to my face “But I got my eye on you buster! Got it?” I Nodded.
“Rainbow don’t be so rude.” Applejack pulled Rainbow back.
“It’s okay. I heard worse.” I complied.
“Well, since we got all this straighten out. I’d like to introduce myself.” This time it was a Pure white Mare with a purplish mane and very well groomed hair that told me she prefers taking good care of her mane and appearance. This one might be stuck up. She was a Unicorn as well. And her Cutie Mark was three diamonds. Another piece to this puzzle, this time both memories and knowledge.
“I’m Rarity. And I must say you are really quite handsome for a dragon.” That comment actually caught me off guard and I blushed a little, which wasn’t easy to notice trust me. The small dragon started looking slightly annoyed
“My word. You have a mane as well. I thought dragons would have spikes and not hair.” Rarity was the only one to notice my hair.
“Well, it’s not a mane. It’s my hair. You see I’m not a full dragon. Believe it or not, I’m only part dragon.”
“Really?” Twilight asked
“Yeah. It’s… hard to explain. But I’ll tell you more when we have time. So I know your Twilight?” I pointed at her and she nodded in confirmation.
“Your Applejack?” I pointed at the orange mare.
“That’s right Sugar cube’” She confirmed.
“You’re Rarity?” I pointed to the White Mare.
“Correct.” She said as she flipped her mane.
“You’re Pinkie?” I pointed at Pinkie.
“I’m actually Pinkie Pie. But that was close enough.”
“Right. You’re Rainbow?” I pointed at the lone Pegasus
“It’s Rainbow ‘Dash’."She seemed to put more meaning into Dash as if to make sure I got it right.
“Got it. Shining Armor?” He nodded to confirm. “What about you little drake?”
The small dragon then realized I was talking to him. He rushed towards me “Oh. I’m Spike. Nice to meet you, sir.” Hearing that word made me cringe a bit.
“Sir?” Twilight was confused by that.
“Yeah he’s an older dragon so I have to call him sir,” Spike responded.
I shook my head. “Uh, Spike there’s really no need to refer to me as sir. I don’t really like feeling I need to be in charge.”
“OH! Sorry… uh?” He paused waiting for an answer.
“Just Sarius is fine” I replied.
“Sarius. Sorry.” He apologized again.
“It’s okay pal. Now I remembered there were 8 of you. I only counted 7. Where’s the last one?” I asked curiously.
“Oh, you mean Fluttershy? She’s right there.” Rainbow pointed at a Yellow mare that was cowering behind the crystal structure. “Get out here will you? He’s a lot smaller than that other dragon.”
Fluttershy made a noise that sounded like a whimper. Rarity walked to her.
“What’s the matter, darling?” She asked genially.
“I….I….I’m…….Scared.” Fluttershy Whispered.
“There’s nothing to worry about Fluttershy. He won’t hurt you nor does he want to I believe.” Twilight tried to comfort Fluttershy.
She looked at me directly in the eyes. I felt a familiar spark that I haven’t felt in a long time. It meant one thing, She and I were connected. She must have felt the same thing cause her expression changed from scared to curious. She most likely got a boost of courage cause she left the safety of the pillar and started walking towards me.
We were inches away from each other. Her eyes were sky blue which reminded me of the clear, blue and limitless sky. Her mane was pink like Pinkie’s but it was better combed and natural and she seems to radiate an aura of calm, love and kindness. She seemed to be excited cause her wings spread out and I’m sure she didn’t notice. She was a Pegasus as well; though her wings were small, she looked cute when she spread them out.
“Hi, I’m Fluttershy.” She said with passion.
“Hey, I’m Sarius.” I smiled. She seems really nice.
“Okay, now that we’re introduced we need to find a way to save the Crystal Empire,” Twilight said in a way that made it sound like something important.
“Right. Follow me I’ll take you to Cadence.” Shining Armor got serious now and started heading to the crystal tower in the middle of the city.
The Others began to follow him and I was too. I couldn’t fly cause I was exhausted and low on energy if I risked flying again I might end up hurting myself so I just walked with them. Much to my surprise, Fluttershy was walking with me on my left. Although I was slightly taller than her, I didn't realize I was smaller in this Dimension til I compared myself to her. It certainly made me feel more comfortable knowing I wasn’t a 12-foot tall dragon, which is how big I really was. Entering this dimension might have changed my appearance as a Dragon God which made me happy. Even though I’m pretty tall I didn’t like feeling that I’m above everybody else which is how I felt in my Dragon God form. I was so happy in fact I cracked a smile which Fluttershy noticed.
“Why are you smiling?” she asked slightly confused by my sudden happiness and smiling herself a little.
“Oh, I’m just glad we’re almost the same height. I dislike thinking everybody needs to respect me cause I’m bigger and a son of a god.” I was proud to be myself for once.
“You’re a god?” Fluttershy said in shock.
“Part god. My dragon side happens to be the part god . But yeah I can be one if I choose to be.” I said to ensure she had nothing to worry about. “Being immortal isn’t fun. So I can choose to live forever or a normal life. Though I think I might live a little longer than most due to being part dragon.” My smile melted a little having recalled an unpleasant fact about myself.
“Oh. That’s amazing, you certainly sound like a special dragon. Being able to choose your life I mean.” She sounded happy for me which I kinda understood but it didn't help my mood. “I uh… have to ask you…. Do you…. Umm.”
I then looked at her and raised an eyebrow. “You sound nervous. Just ask me. I’ll listen to anything anybody has to say.” I tried my famous ‘I’m here to listen’ line to help her feel she can say anything to me.
“Okay… Do you…. Find me….. pretty?” she started to blush a little.
I was honestly not expecting that question. It was literally coming from left field for me. I thought it best, to be honest. “Well of course I do. I know pretty when I see it. And you certainly live up to it.” I sensed she had feelings for me. Her eyes seem to be relaying that message. “And if you’re wondering about how I feel about ponies in general, I’ll need a little time to get used to this. It’s all pretty new to me.”
“Oh. Thank you.” She smiled and blushed a brighter red. Yup, she seems to have a crush on me. But I had to make sure she understood my view of this.
“Mind if I say something?”
“Of course. If you really want to.” She started breathing a little faster. I could tell she was getting really nervous to hear what I had to say.
“Let’s take this real slow Fluttershy. We all just met after all. Don’t you think?” She relaxed knowing it wasn’t what she was nervous about.
“Oh. Of course, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to come out like that. I just wanted to know what some pony thought of me. If you're okay with that?”
“Your fine. No need to apologize. It’s always a good thing to let someone know how your feeling. I can tell you it’s not a good idea to keep it in.” I gave her a friendly wink with a smile. She has some affection for me, it was obvious to me. The only issue with this is, I just arrived in this dimension not too long ago and already a pony likes me. I couldn't tell her I didn't find her attractive, cause I would be lying. Plus I'll admit that I do feel a small amount of affection for her. But I couldn't dwell on it, not right now anyway. They had a mission to fulfill and I had to figure out what I'm meant to do here as Keeper of the Balance.
“Thanks, Sarius. I’ll be sure to let you know if I need some pony to talk to.” She smiled and felt at ease. I assumed when it came to speaking her mind she had a really hard time. She certainly seems timid and shy, hence her name being Fluttershy I guess. I know I find it hard to be assertive to individuals who are nice but annoying.
I had my full attention drawn to Fluttershy that I didn’t even notice we were right below the Crystal tower. Neither did Fluttershy it seems cause when Shining armor shouted “She’s up this way!” we both woke for what seem like a daydream. As we trotted up the stairs I started to wonder what this ‘Cadence’ girl looked like. I was about to find out soon cause we exited the stairs into a large chamber that seems as large as the pit below the tower. Shining Armor brought us to a long hall that seems like a Chamber that a king and queen sit when their ruling a kingdom and at the end just off the crystal chair was a mare that seemed tired.
She was a littler lavender color with a multi-colored mane and fancy hooves which told me she was royalty of something. The only detail that really caught my eye was she had a horn and a set of wings. This seems really weird to me since there was only unicorns and pegasus but nothing with both. Then a single word popped into my head. Alicorn. Alicorn? What is that? A bit more info popped in. A pony that has the magic of a unicorn and the wings of a pegasus. Yup, that makes more sense.
“Cadence!”
Cadence looked our way and looked happy suddenly and walked towards to us and Twilight met her half-way.
“Sunshine. Sunshine. Ladybugs awake. Clap your Hooves and do a little shake.” They both chanted while dancing it seems and chuckled afterward. Cadence suddenly winced and the shield flickered. She’s controlling the shield. She has to be powerful to maintain it.
“One of these days we need to get together when the fate of Equestria isn’t hanging in the balance.”
“Are you Okay?”
“Cadence has been able to use her magic to spread love and light. That seems to be what is protecting it. But she hasn’t slept. Barely eats. I want to help her, but my protection spell has been countered by King Sombra.”
“It’s all right, Shining Armor. I’m fine” She didn’t look fine at all.
“She’s not fine. She can’t go on like this forever. And if her magic were to fade… Well, you saw what’s out there waiting for that to happen.”
“That’s why we’re here.”
“Why we’re all here.” Everybody nodded in response.
“With Cadence putting all her strength into keeping her spell going and me trying to keep an eye on signs of trouble in the Arctic, we haven’t been able to gather much information from the Crystal Ponies.”
“Crystal Ponies! There are Crystal Ponies?” She looked embarrassed acting like that. “Um, ahem, please continue.”
“But we have to believe one of them knows how we can protect the empire without having to use Cadence’s Magic.”
Twilight looked like she got an idea “A Research Paper.”
“Huh?”
“That must be part of my test. To gather information from the Crystal Ponies and deliver it to you. This is gonna be great. I love research papers.”
“Yeah. Who doesn’t?”
“Oh, oh, oh, let me guess.” She dashes and picks up Spike.”Is it Spike? No, no, no. Fluttershy? Rarity?”
“Don’t worry Big Brother. I am really good at this sort of thing.”
She had everybody head out to gather information. I was still in the back thinking I was the oddball here.
I was about to head out when Shining Armor called me.
“Wait Sarius.” I stopped and turned. “I want you to meet my wife, Cadence.”
Cadence looked at me and was intrigued at the sight of me. “Hello, Sarius. I guess you’re the one I was expecting?”
I was a little surprised. “I was expected?”
“Cadence. He’s the one they mentioned?” He seemed confused. My curiosity peaked at the mention of 'they' but I got the feeling I would find who they were personally.
“I assume so. A dragon with hair and a red color and eyes of Nature. I think he’s the one.” She searched me with her eyes as if to make sure she didn't miss a detail.
“Eyes of Nature? That's a new one. I guess he sent a heads up to some of the inhabitants. " I thought. I did know I had my aunt's eyes but I never thought they would remind people of her.
"Well, I’m here to help in any way I can.” My stomach then growled at me really loudly. I blushed a little and chuckled. “After I get something to eat of course.”
“Sorry to say, but we don’t have any knowledge of what food is here.” Shining Armor looked bad for saying it to me.
“It’s okay. I’m sure the others will find something. I’ll just wait, I been in this position many times before.”
“Okay. Though it might be a while.”
So I waited for what seemed like 20 minutes for Twilight to bring some good news. She ran to Cadence and Shining Armor and informed them of what she found. I was resting in the large chamber in the corner, trying to restore a little bit of my energy. I can naturally recover my energy, though it takes a long time for it to recover on its own. I felt a little bit of energy return but it was barely enough to do anything with eccept fly. Luckily, flying didn’t take up energy but it does take up stamina, so my energy helps keep my stamina high. It’s really confusing how my Energtris power works but it’s my life energy so I had to learn how to master it.
Twilight came walking out and noticed me and trotted towards me. “Sarius, I heard about your condition. If it helps I found some recipes the Crystal Ponies use for food in the Crystal Faire. If you’re willing to try them.”
This peaked my interest. Mostly due to what I was used to back in my dimension. So to see what these ponies had to offer me as far as food would help me know what my options are.
“Okay, Twilight. It’s good I’m not picky. I never turn down food especially when I’m low on energy.”
“Great. Meet us down at the center.” And with that she took her leave.
I decided to try and fly down. I had just enough energy to do it. I walked out to the balcony, breathed in and relaxed my body, spread my wings and jumped off. I floated down to the road just below and landed with grace, unlike the last time I dropped from the sky. I exhaled thinking that could have went pretty bad but didn’t. So I sat there for another few minutes till Applejack came to get me.
“Howdy Sarius, Ah heard ya might be hungry and thought ah should tell ya that the food is ready.”
“Great. Lead the way.” My stomach was still growling but it quieted down thankfully.
She walked me to a stand with a lot of Crystal corn on the cobs. I started drooling thinking they looked really good.
“Here ya go Sugar cube. Help yourself.” She then walked off and I lost track of her.
“Thanks.” I quickly said it before she was out of earshot. I picked up one and started biting a little bit off. I chewed it and it tasted like corn luckily but with more flavor to it. It defiantly had a kick to it cause my energy just started up. It was like this was grown with Energtris energy cause it helped fill up a lot of energy with one bite.
Fluttershy was walking by and saw me and instantly got excited. She ran to me. I was enjoying the corn so I didn’t notice her till I heard her sweet voice.
“Hello, again Sarius. Are you trying the corn?” She asked with curiosity. She didn't have one yet it seemed.
“Hmm. Oh, yeah I am. It’s really good. You should try one.” I handed one to her. She smiled and took it and started eating it. I already scarfed down the one I had.
“Oh wow. It is good. I never thought corn could taste like this.”
“I know right. And I’m new to this whole thing.” I ate two more cobs of corn and felt satisfied. “Mmm. That was good.” I then suddenly felt a familiar sensation in my gut. It was like a bunch of fireworks being lit and was mere seconds away from going off. “Fluttershy. You better back up.” My tone went from happy to serious in a matter of seconds. I knew what was coming.
“Why? What’s wrong?” She started moving towards me.
“No back away. Don’t come closer.” I added a bit of an authority tone to my voice.
“Are you okay Sarius?” She started sounding concerned now.
My feeling was getting more intense. “Just back up.”
She backed up worried something bad might happen. Then that feeling I had exploded literally. My body released a burst of Energtris energy that covered 3 feet of space in a sphere that could massively burn anyone or anything in close proximity to me. When it died down I felt revived. I had my power back and it took only 3 of these Crystal corn to do it. I was really thrilled to know this dimension had food that could help rejuvenate me. The ground was surprisingly unscathed.
Fluttershy was shocked at what she saw. “What was that?”
“That’s, what happens when I eat too fast.” I started stretching. “When I’m low on energy and I scarf down food too quickly, my energy literally explodes. If you were closer to me you would have been severely burned. My energy is pure raw power, so it will hurt you if I’m not careful. Luckily I know how my power works most of the time. So your fine.” I gave her a wink to reassure her she’s safe around me and has nothing to worry about.
She blushed a deep red. “Okay. Thanks.” She was getting really nervous that I was hitting on her.
I noticed her getting red and nervous so i thought it best to help her shimmer down. “Don’t take it literally Fluttershy, you remind me of someone close to me. And I have an instinct to protect those close to me. And if helps you, we’ll talk about our feelings for each other later.”
Fluttershy was surprised “Wait, You kn…. I mean you…. What?” She couldn’t get her words straight.
I looked her in the eyes and smiled. “Yeah I know and I may have similar feelings, but I'll need time to sort them out. You remind me a lot like a girl I love back in my dimension. And before you ask, she’s fine with me dating another female. It’s kinda hard not to being part dragon and all which she understands completely.”
Her blush went from crimson red to a shade of pink. “Oh. Okay. I feel better knowing I don’t have to hide it. And thank you for being honest.”
I walked up to her left side. “It’s like I said I’m always willing to lend an ear to those who need to talk to someone. Let’s just take it slow okay Fluttershy.”
She was getting a bit more comfortable now. “Oh of course, I wouldn’t want to make you feel like I rushed you into a relationship. I’ll feel terrible if that happened.” I chuckled and started flying. “Wait! Where are you going?”
“I saw Cadence and noticed how bad her condition is, so I’m going to help her out by buying her time to recover.”
“How?” She asked with confusion.
I cracked a smug smirk. “I think a certain ‘King’ is wanting some time to pay me back. I plan on keeping him busy for as long as I can to buy everybody time. Don’t worry Fluttershy I dealt with worst than him. See ya later.”
I then took off towards the castle, and straight to Cadence and Shining Armor.
“Sarius! You recovered?” She was surprised to see me in top condition.
“Yup. And I’m here to offer my help. Cadence I’m gonna buy you some time to recover your strength. If you keep going like this he’ll get his prize soon. Rest Cadence and I’ll distract him. Shining you keep an eye out there, if he turns around and ignores me tell Cadence to lift the shield again.” They both nodded. “Alright Here goes nothing.”
I took off and headed towards the arctic. When I left the safety of the shield, King Sombra was waiting patiently for his time to strike. He didn’t notice me yet but I was gonna change that real quick. I gathered a small focused energy ball in my claw and Yelled “HEY OVER HERE!!!”
He quickly turned and saw me and charged. I tossed the ball at his face and made a direct hit.
He laughed. “What was that supposed to do?” He looked confident.
I smirked and gave him a good kick to the snout. He winced and was sent flying but he was a fog of darkness so he got right back up. “That. Was to solidify your form. Now I can hit you as much as I want.”
And with that I Uppercuted him with my Right claw and then swiped him with my tail. He was getting furious now. “Come and get me!” I started flying backwards. As I suspected he followed suit. I made sure his back was to the Empire so he wouldn’t notice the shield was down which it was for a while. After putting some distance between us and the Empire I then quickly stopped and charged at him and made a quick but powerful jab at his forehead. He flinched and started charging his horn. He shot a black laser at me which I effortlessly dodged. That must have been the magic he used to render Shining’s magic useless. Well even if it hit me it wouldn’t affect me so well. I kept hitting him to keep him focused on me, while restraining myself from fighting seriously. This was not my battle. He was for the Mane Six and Cadence. Great another piece of knowledge I’ll get and during a battle none the less.
Fortunately I was used to this sort of thing. I had a natural ability that helped me in battles and normal situations. I was able to keep track of everything going on, my enemy’s movements, certain parts of scenery I could use, others locations and attacking points and angles as well as keeping track of where my allies were. This was my only Natural ability that I didn’t obtain from my power it was just something I’m good at. Call it Multi-tasking.
The fight kept going with every blow I land he got more angry and eager to beat me. My punches and kicks had no power nor force behind them. Irritating my enemies til they mess something up was something I did really well. However, this distraction wasn’t lasting much longer since he started noticing I was holding back. He must have realized I could easily finish him whenever I wanted too. He then stopped all together and stared me down.
“You’re playing for time, aren’t you?” He looked more annoyed now.
I didn’t say anything mostly cause he might have already figured it out, but partly hoping he was trying to throw me off and get the truth out of me. So I tried punching him but he quickly disappeared and appeared behind me. I managed to turn around quickly enough to dodge another laser.
“I knew it. I noticed you weren’t being serious.” He then looked towards the Empire and noticed the shield was down. He smiled but quickly dissolved it.
He must been thinking it was a trap but it wasn’t. It was the real deal. So he played it safe and went low to the ground. I knew what he was up to so I chased him. He was trying to sneak under the radar. I had to pull him out somehow. I then noticed his horn was the only object sticking out like a sharks fin stalking it's prey. It was a long shot but I used my Energtris power to grip his horn and pulled up. His head was pulled out but I wasn’t sure if Shining could see him until the shield started going back up. It worked, which meant Sombra was really dashing to get inside and pulled me with more force. The shield was raised in time to chip his horn off, cutting off my grip on it and throw me into the circle. I recovered quickly before hitting the ground. I was relieved to know Shining was watching. I just hoped I bought enough time for everybody.
As far as I saw the faire was still going. Unfortunately I didn’t know what the goal was. So I decided to head towards the center. Applejack was standing next to a concealed stand. She seemed to be keeping an eye out like she was watching for trouble even though it was outside.
“What’s going on AJ? I never got a chance to find out what the goal is here.” I said hovering in place behind her.
Applejack jumped a little. “Sarius! Don’t sneak up on me like that. Ya scared me witless.”
“Sorry.” I chuckled.
She just eyed me. “Anyway, I’m here keeping the Crystal Ponies away as long as I can. Turns out the Crystal Heart we have isn’t the right one. Twilight is looking for the real one and she took Spike with her.”
“Okay. And what about the others?” I looked around trying to find them.
“Their doing their separate jobs to keep the Crystal Ponies spirits high. We need their love and light to power the heart.” I motioned her front leg to the other buildings.
“I see. I hope I bought enough time for all of you.”
“Ah’m not sure. But if that heart isn’t found soon, we’ll be in trouble.”
“Alright it seems like things have to play out now. I’ll be on standby and keep myself from saving the day.” And with that, I took off. Applejack looked like she wanted to say something to me but I already made my decision. I won’t interfere unless I really need to. So I took my position in the sky and made myself a platform out of my energy to sit on.
From there I watched the event play out before my eyes but I didn't focus on it. I had some things to sort through while i had some time. The first thing that came up was my affection for Fluttershy. She was cute and kind. But I have fallen for that in the past and that didn't turn out well for a while. I was thankful that it all worked out in the end but it created some compilations between me and another female.
"Could i really love a pony? " I asked myself in my head. "Then again it's better than falling in love with someone who has a bit Phoenix DNA in them, i guess. I know phoenixes and dragons don't get along. " I reassured myself.
I saw things were getting intense down below, but I let it flow to the back of my mind. I had a feeling this will turn out fine. "I could at least give it a try. Sure it might seem weird at first but I'm sure it'll get better with time. I mean what's the worst that can happen? " Though the worst isn't at all what I imagine it would be.
So i sorted that out, next one was certainly puzzling. From what I can gather about this dimension, it seemed Love and Tolerance thrived here. So what could I do in this kind of dimension and how? More importantly, why am I needed? I realized right away, that I wasn't going to be able to answer that. It would take time and careful observations. Before I could get to my next subject I heard a loud boom and my focus was instantly directed to the scene below.
A massive explosion erupted from the center of the empire. Though this was a different kind of explosion. I could sense a large amount of positive energy expanding. Sombra was shredded into small shadowy pieces of himself and were scattered throughout the tundra. I got the feeling we haven't seen the last of him. I then noticed a bright light was being emitted from the empire and it was steadily growing larger and brighter by the second. The explosion reached me and I felt myself get doused with positive energy and power. Love and light flowed through me and I noticed my appearance was more crystalline. It was as if my body was replaced with a diamond counterpart.
The light that radiated from the castle was a sight to behold. It spread the power of love and light to all corners of this world. I noticed a handful of ponies were running around looking for something. I instantly realized it was me they were looking for. Applejack was the last one to see me. Fluttershy found me somehow. It wasn't until later that i found out how she did. She breathed a sigh of relief upon finding me.
“Sarius! Thank goodness. I was worried and we thought you left.”
I shook my head. “I can't just leave like that. I know I'm needed here for some reason. Besides I figured I would give love in this dimension a shot.'”
Fluttershy blushed a bright pink and smiled. "You mean, you..." She didn't finish and instead let out a cute squeak.
I chuckled and smiled. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves Fluttershy. I haven't fully sorted out my affection yet. But I am willing to try."
She giggled and sat down on a cloud in front of me. "Yay." I couldn't tell if she was excited or not. I didn't usually hear people say yay like that.
I smiled “Just remember Fluttershy we’re taking it slow. We don’t wanna rush this. It’s gotta develop on its own.”
She smiled back. "I know Sarius. Anyway we are getting ready to leave and head home and we were wondering if you'll like to join us." She looked at me with hope.
I let the platform melt away and started hovering “Sure I don't have anyplace to stay right now. Where are we heading?”
“Ponyville.” She hovered off of the cloud.
I smiled. "Lead the way, Flutters." She blushed at that name.
She led the way back to the group. Everybody was happy to see me again. And with that we all headed to the Train Station that I never realized was there and took the next train to Canterlot. They still had things to take care of there. I stayed at the Station and waited for them. When they came back we took the next train to Ponyville, The next place I’m sure I’ll call ‘Home’.
