//-------------------------------------------------------// Button's Repress -by Solar_Blaze- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 As Button Mash expertly guided the ball into the goal with his car, he exclaimed. "Yes! To the playoffs it is!" Button was trying to cut off on video games knowing full well that he was getting addicted to them. He wanted to focus on stuff like getting a fillyfriend or playing actual sports. But being that it was raining and a Saturday, he figured he'd play some just to pass the time until dinner. He wanted to play Rocket League which was all the rage nowadays anyway. He logged onto Steam and loaded the game and to which I'm sure you're aware now, he won the final week in the season and is headed to the playoffs. Button Mash revved up his car and waited for the three second countdown to finish. He floored his vehicle and rammed it into the ball sending it straight into the goal. "Yes!" He screamed happily. He was certainly very talented when it came to playing any video game, but especially talented at Rocket League. "I hope Sweetie Belle can get online and play with me she needs to know who's the king of Rocket League." Button Mash paused his game and tabbed out, opening up Skype. Much to Button Mash's disappointment Sweetie Belle's status was Offline. Button quickly grabbed his phone eager to gain contact with the quartz colored unicorn. "Ok, Celestia!" He prompted, to which his phone responded with a beep. "Call Sweetie Belle." "Would you like me to call her at home or her cell?" "Cell Please." His phone dialed the Pon-ID and put the speakers on Loud Mode. After a few seconds of waiting... "You've reached Sweetie Belle's Phone, I am unavailable at the moment. Please leave your name and your Pon-ID along with a message and I'll get back to you A.S.A.P." Button Mash quickly hung up his phone and put it away. "I wonder what she is doing! It's a Saturday for Celestia's Sake!" Button Mash slammed his hoof into the bed. "I guess I'll play by myself then." With that, Button Mash got back on his laptop, grabbed his controller, and resumed his game. He finished the playoffs just as his mom called him for dinner. "Button! Dinner!" She yelled up to him. To which he replied, "I'll be right there!" Button Mash walked down the stairs and ran into the kitchen. "Hey, Mom! What's for dinner?" "Wait just a moment Button. Did you wash your hooves?" She responded. Button hung his head, he realized he'd been a bit too impatient with life. He needed to slow down. "No..." "Go do it now, hun." She responded. Button returned, he sat at the pre-set dining table with the food already on it. His mom asked. "So, what'd you get up to today?" "I played some Rocket League, cleaned my room, took a shower, ate lunch, and so on and so forth." He replied. "I thought you were taking a break from video games." His mom inquired. To which Button replied. "I know but it was raining and there was nothing else to do, Sweetie Belle has been seemingly ignoring me all day, and I couldn't go outside unless I wanted to get dirty, it would have been detrimental to the fact that I had just showered anyway. Today, was just a good day to play a video game. I promise I won't get addicted again." The fact that he was doing this was kind of ironic due to the fact that he had a huge directional pad on his flank, but still he needed a detox. "As long as it doesn't happen again, I  like it when we can spend time as a family when I'm not working instead of you being upstairs in your room playing games all day." His mom said. "I know, I just really enjoy them, they give me an element of peace." He returned. Button Mash finished his dinner quietly, not making a noise except the clank of his fork on his plate. “My, you’re awfully quiet.” Button’s mom expressed. To which he responded, “I have a lot on my mind right now.” “Oh? Like what?” His mom asked. “Well, you know how Sweetie Belle isn’t responding to my texts or calls?” He asked. His mom gave a hum of recallectance. “Well, do you think she is mad at me?” He returned. “Why do you think she is mad at you? She’s probably just busy.” “Well, that’s the thing. Unless she got sent to a special institute where they can’t have phones or something like that, she would always return my attempts to communicate with her either by calling me when she knows I’m awake or by texting me if it’s too late in the night and now she’s not even doing that. She’s starting to worry me.” “Do you want me to call her sister to see if you can go over there and see if she’s alright?” “Please?” “Alright. Tomorrow, after breakfast. I can’t guarantee that she’ll be available besides you’ll see her at school right?” “Right…” He responded. “Or maybe I won’t.” He continued in his head. The next morning seemed to take forever to show up. Button couldn’t sleep and the one thing he would normally resort to when he couldn’t sleep would be to play some video games. His thoughts of Sweetie Belle quickly overtook him. “What happened to you? Why aren’t you responding to my texts or calls? You’re worrying me. I just wish I could tell you how much you are worrying me.” Button heard his phone’s notifier vibrate his phone. Button grabbed his phone off of his night stand and unplugged it from his charger. He waved a hoof over the photosensor and saw the screen light up briefly with his notifications. Much to his surprise, he had received a text from Scootaloo. Button unlocked his phone and navigated to the Messaging App. He tapped Scootaloo’s contact and read her text. “Button, have you seen Sweetie Belle?” To which he replied, “Not today, I saw her Friday though.” “I know I saw her too because she was at school.” “Do you think something happened to her?” “Maybe, I don’t know. I’ll try to call her in the morning.” “Okay, I’m gonna have my mom see if Rarity will let me come over and check on her.”
