The Mare With The Pink Coat

Pinkie Pie stomped her hoof in pure rage, it echoed throughout her bedroom. The mare had been planning this for so long, the day that she would finally tell Rainbow Dash her true feelings towards her, unfortunately, the pegusas had managed to get a coltfriend before the day had come.

Pinkie Pie along with many others was surprised at Rainbow Dash's sudden interest in romance, even thinking that this was all a rumor. That is until they saw Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane strolling through town one afternoon. That day replayed in Pinkie's mind, filling her heart with envy. No matter how hard she tried to feel happy for her friend's relationship, she failed miserably.

It was only a week ago and still Pinkie Pie felt the same rage she had felt that afternoon. Hiding it was getting harder everyday and her friends may have already started to notice. She had to take drastic measures if she wanted to keep this little fit of her's a secret.

And that was when an idea popped into Pinkie Pie's head, an idea that had the ability to fix all of this. She had decided to visit Zecora, who usually had a solution for anything, and she would tell her she needed 'Envy's Solution'. She had heard from one of many of her Granny Pie's old storybook's about the one flower that was able to get rid of all negative emotion.

Pinkie Pie stood up from the wooden floor of her bedroom and galloped downstairs. Her hoofsteps echoing throughout the stairway. She continued galloping outside the bakery and onto the Everfree Forest, where Zecora resided. Only a year ago, many ponies would've been terrified to even step one hoof in the forest and there she was, going through half of it. It made her want to explode with pride.

It was also handy that nopony was out for a strange reason, making it a lot easier to not have to deal with the stress of keeping her negative emotion to herself.

Once she had reached Zecora's hut, it was all downhill from there. Surprisingly, the door had already been opened, so all Pinkie had to do with slide inside.

"Zecora?" Pinkie Pie greeted uneasily." Are you home?"

No response. The zebra must have been mistakenly left her door open, a terrible mistake for living in the Everfree Forest. She galloped inside slowly, being cautious around the many potions and other abnormal décor that Zecora kept in her home. It would be even harder to try and imagine a mental image of what the 'Envy's Solution' looked like. For all Pinkie Pie knew, it could be anything from a flower to a mask.

Taking one of Zecora's books from her ancient bookshelves, she opened it, delightful to find the 'Envy's Solution' had it's own page. That Pinkie Sense had always made life easy for her.

The 'Envy's Solution' is a white flower with the power to take away any living thing's negative emotions towards something or someone.

This was all the information Pinkie had needed, dropping the book down to look for the white flora. After what had seemed to be hours for the pink mare, she had found it located under a loose shelf. She smiled brightly as she devoured the flower, taking little regret in her decision.

It tasted a bit sour but the pink mare could deal with that and any other unknown side effects. It made her feel so happy that she was able to feel happy for her cyan friend without feeling deep hatred towards her coltfriend.

It felt a bit weird though, Pinkie didn't feel anything different from what she had felt before eating the flower. Infact, if anything, she felt even more hatred towards Thunderlane.

"Maybe the effects haven't kicked in yet." Pinkie Pie thought. She shrugged as she bounced happily out the door and out the Everfree Forest.

"Place the banner a little bit to the left!" Pinkie Pie told Fluttershy.

A little while after she had returned back to Ponyville, Pinkie Pie had decided to throw a party for the new couple. In a way, to also apologize to them about her negative response towards them.

"Sure, Pinkie Pie!" Fluttershy smiled softly as she moved the banner. The banner had been written on with red marker and had the phrase," Congratulations Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane!" written on it. It was decorated with pictures taken of the couple that Pinkie Pie had managed to get.

"They're here!"

Twilight Sparkle ran up to the 2 mares, her whole mane and coat was in a distressed manner, paint and glue was splattered onto it as well.

"What happened to you, Twilight?" Pinkie Pie asked, she chuckled slightly at her friend's appearance. Twilight trying her best to ignore her friend's giggles replied softly.

"Don't mind that!" Twilight scolded, her horn lit up in it's usual aura, casting itself over Twilight's body, cleansing her of the guck." Just get ready!"

Pinkie Pie nodded, and signaled her friends to hide behind one of the many tables and chairs all over the room. The door creaked, someone had opened it. The sound of hooves filled the party hall.

"Do you think this was some prank?" a mare's voice asked, possibly to another pony.

"Surprise!"

Many screams giggled and cheered at the couple. Pinkie Pie grabbed a horn from under her hiding space and blew it as loud as she could.

"Happy 2 Day Anniversary!" Pinkie smiled as she blew the horn.

Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane smiled. "Thanks' Guys." Thunderlane smirked," And Thank You Pinkie Pie."

Pinkie Pie grinned." Let's get this party started!"

Vinyl Scratch popped out from under the DJ Booth at the end of the party hall and began to play the party music. It was energetic, it was fast, just the way the couple liked it.

Pinkie Pie stared at the couple dancing, she was seated down at a single table across the party room. From the corner of her eyes, she could see Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Spike dancing together as well. She grinned softly as she resumed her eye's back on the couple.

No matter how many times she tried to believe it, the flower didn't seem to help her at all. She felt deep envy towards Thunderlane and wanted to make him feel how hurt she was. Dark thoughts flooded through her mind.

I could attack Thunderlane causing Dashie to see how weak he was.

Pinkie shook her head at this aggressive thought. What was she thinking? It felt like she wasn't. But no matter how many times she tried, she wanted to hurt him a little.

Well one little incident wouldn't hurt.

Pinkie's cyan eyes narrowed, she grinned wickedly towards Thunderlane. Her mane deflated. She snuck under the table seats trying to reach the center of the dance floor unnoticed.

She turned around to find Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane dancing with each other, laughing. Her eyes narrowed even more, they almost flashed a dark red as she went towards the dance floor and 'Accidently' bumped into Thunderlane, sending him to the floor.

"Oops..Sorry!" Pinkie smiled as she returned towards her lone seat.

She saw Rainbow Dash fly over to Thunderlane, picking him up from the hard floor. She laughed slightly." You needa watch out, Pinks is a real wild dancer."

Thunderlane chuckled as he continued to dance with his marefriend. Pinkie Pie's heart shattered into pieces. It was almost as if Rainbow Dash thought she was a terrible dancer! Now she really wanted to hurt this mare with all of her heart! Her eyes turned a dark shade of red and they narrowed as far as they could go.

"Pinkie Pie? Are you okay?" a young voice asked the pink mare.

She turned to see Spike looking at her, curiously tugging her dress. He almost looked frightened as he saw the pink mare's eyes.

"Pinkie Pie! Your e-eyes!" Spike screamed, causing Vinyl Scratch to lower down the music.

The whole dance floor looked towards Pinkie Pie, all gasping at her sudden eye change. Pinkie looked at Spike coldly before smiling, obviously without meaning it.

"Pinkie, where you crying or something?" Thunderlane asked, he touched the mare as she blew his hoof away. She looked coldly into Thunderlane's eyes.

"Just leave me alone!" Pinkie scolded Thunderlane, she pushed him aside and ran out the party hall door. Leaving everypony with a gazed expression, Vinyl Scratch shrugged it off and returned to the music. Everypony resumed to the dance floor, except Pinkie's closest friends and Thunderlane, of course.

"What's with her?" Rainbow Dash asked. Her 6 friends shrugged in reply.

"That's not like her at all.." Rarity said.

"Your darn' right it isn't!" Applejack replied.

"It's all my fault.." Spike sniffed.

"No it isn't Spike..It's Pinkie's for being such a drama queen.." Rainbow said coldly.

"Rainbow Dash!" Fluttershy scolded." That's no way to talk about a friend!"

"Well excuse me! She's the one who bumped into my coltfriend and scolded him like he was a filly!" Rainbow Dash argued.

"We'll just wait until tomorrow to figure out what's going on.." Twilight intruded." Right now let's get back to the dance floor."

The 6 friends nodded as they went their separate ways. Unfortunately, they hadn't noticed Pinkie Pie standing at the window, gazing at them coldly.

"I'll show them.." Pinkie glared." I'm fine! And Rainbow Dash will be mine!"

The pink mare jumped of the bush she was standing on galloped and back home in the darkness, only leaving the memory of those cold red eyes.
