You know this world is strange... (Prolog)
A unicorn with wings and a pink flowing mane and a white coat ran up the hill. She was chasing after what appeared to be her best friend, he was a unicorn with a grey coat and a black, messy mane. He hollered to his friend below rather loudly, and in the distinct boyish manner.
"Come on Celest! I know you can do better that that!" He said making fun of her slow jog up the hill, then he added some helpful advice to his fun making, "Try flapping your wings that would help you with your speed."
"You know my mother will kill me if I mess up my coat, mane, and everything else."
"So what?" he said as she just reached the top of the hill, "look down on our village, everyone looks like ants from up here... It makes you feel powerful. Just seeing how high up you are."
"Yeah you can see the slums, middle class, high class, and then the duke's home," Celest replied to what he said. "It's funny, where I live and where everyone else lives..."
"You live in the mayor's home right?" Sombre added
"Yes, being the duke's Bastard is not the best position to be in," She said half-heartedly laughing.
"Now that's a statement that I have to agree with!" He said loving this moment, thinking that he lived just outside the slums.
"Some people say that I was born with a birthright blend that I'm his only heir, this world is strange that way,"
"What I hate about this world is that some people think that you have to be born with power." HE said getting himself in a fit of rage, "I think you that's not true, you don't have to be born with it, you have to take it whenever it get within your reach."
"Though people are born with power doesn't basically mean that they have power."
"Power is power and I plan to take it. you may be almost at the top; me at the bottom, but I'll meet you there. We'll be at the top of the world you'll see, they will all see..." Sombre said finishing his outburst of anger.
The church bells rang signifying that it was 8 o' clock am, and this meant that, "Sombre see you later!" she said sprinting down the hill in record speeds, not even messing up her hair, "I going to be late!" she said as she was just out of earshot.
"She has a point this world is strange," Sombra said be for he got up from the hill and left, heading home it's not like he had school. Back home if it could be called one, back to his drunken Father. He solely supported the house, begging on the streats, and the acastional time he found a job.
"Celest, yet again your late, what is the reason this time?" a mare presulable a teacher swaid.
"Not a reason Mrs Melcony," she said angelicly with a malicios intint.
"Young lady! I teach you, I make you beter therfore you will," SHe said wanting her to fill in the black but she didnot, "Show up on time!"
"Very, well Mrs Melcony," She said decieding she needed education because SOmbre would get mad at her for treating knoledge as trash.
