Closure of two brothers
Chapter 2: Meeting some new friends
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCody and Rex stood in line, looking to the choices of food. It looked much different than what they normally ate.
"What'cha gonna get, Cody?" Rex asked in a playful tone. Cody didn't respond, causing Rex to sigh while grabbing a food known as a 'hot dog'.
"Listen, Cody. I'm not the one who killed you. Heck, I would've been fine if you didn't die. I could've done fine on my own." Cody looked to Rex.
"So you didn't call in Kix to kill me, and join you?" Rex looked to Cody suspiciously, grabbing a bottle of water.
"You didn't kill yourself? Kix did?" Six figures were approaching the clones, yet they didn't notice.
"Yeah. Kix comes in, all confused. I tell him that I didn't kill you, yet he says to Lord Vader that I executed you! It pretty much escalated from there..." Rex felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned around, seeing Sunset and five others.
"Oh.... Hey Sunset." Rex said, looking to Cody. Sunset smiled, Cody looking to Rex strangely. He rolled his eyes.
"I'll let you two catch up. Once you guys are done, we need to have a talk of our own." Cody said, scowling at the girls. Rex stopped him.
"If you need me, here's a comlink." Rex said, handing the comlink to Cody. He walked to a table, and sat by himself. People eyed him and the scar on his forehead, which he showed no emotion to.
"Does your brother have any friends?" Sunset asked, looking to him. Rex looked to her.
"He just has a bad temper. I might've said a trigger word." Rex said, scratching the back of his head. Sunset shook her head.
"Anyways, I would like to introduce you to some friends, Rex." He waved to the five girls that were standing behind Sunset.
"It's a pleasure to meet you. My name's Rex." The one with the rainbow hair started examining him.
"Do you work out?" She asked with a tomboyish voice. He chuckled.
"Pretty much. I have to keep myself fit in some way." She put her hand out, and Rex shook it.
"The name's Rainbow. Rainbow Dash." He smiled at her.
"It's great to meet you." She blushed.
"Oh... It's nothing." He directed his attention to the one with white skin. She looked at him, a sly smirk on her face.
"It's rude to stare, darling." She said, breaking the trance. He shook his head.
"Sorry... I sort of lost focus there." She nodded in understanding.
"That's what ALL of the boys say. Anyways darling, my name's Rarity. It is definitely a pleasure to meet you." He nodded, putting his attention towards the pink haired one. She had bright yellow skin, along with cyan eyes. She hid behind her hair.
"Her name is Fluttershy. She's a very kind person once you get to know her." Sunset said, speaking for Fluttershy. Rex looked to her in admiration, but quickly transitioned his attention to the one with the hat. She had blonde hair, along with orange skin.
"Howdy there, Rex. My name's Applejack!" He halfway smiled.
"Pleasure to meet you, Applejack." She winked at him.
"Just call me AJ." He nodded, and looked around, trying to find the last girl.
"I could've sworn that there was one more...." He said, putting his hand to his chin.
"I'm sure that you and your brother could meet her in the gymnasium!" He looked to Cody, who stood up, walking over to a trash can. In his hands were an empty paper plate, and a crushed water bottle. He turned on his comlink.
"Hey Cody?" Cody looked over to Rex, an irritated look in his eye.
"We should get going. These lovely ladies have something to show us." They each (except for Fluttershy) blushed. Sunset smiled to Rex, him smiling back. Cody rolled his eyes, and turned on his comlink on.
"I'm not horny, Rex. Ask someone else." Rex sighed.
"Not in THAT kind of way. They literally have something to show us." Cody looked to Rex, as Sunset examined the device in his hand. It had a circle, which was green at the moment, and a few lines across it.
".....fine. I'll go with you, but we need to have a talk after this. A REAL talk. And I don't mean 'A walk in the park'. Man to man in boxing. Last time I took it easy on you. This time, you will wish you were 99. Let me get some things read-" Rex turned his comlink off.
"I'm afraid that Cody won't be attending." Tears grew in his eyes, yet he held them back. Why did Cody have to mention 99? That was incredibly disrespectful to a..... Hero like him.
"Are you okay, Rex?" Sunset asked him, noticing that he was internally wounded. He put on a straight face.
"Yes, I'm fine. Let's head out, shall we?" He replied, gesturing Sunset to lead the way. She nodded and led the group out the doors.
"Let me get some things ready and I'll follow you guys. Okay?" Cody didn't hear a response.
"Rex? Are you still there?" No response. He turned around, seeing Rex and the six girls, halfway out of the cafeteria. Rex shot him a disappointed look, causing him to stay put. Just then the bell rang and it was free period for everyone. People started standing up, and walking out of the large space. Soon, all that was left, standing there, was a very sad Cody.
Author's Note
I just want to make it clear that: I write this all in one sitting. Then, I skim the chapter for errors. Then, I post it. Simple as that. That's also why there are two updates in one day. Anyhow, thanks for reading. Remember to like, comment, and follow. I will see all of you troopers later.![]()
