Closure of two brothers
Chapter 4: A talk in the library
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCody walked into the library, seeing students and teachers reading silently. Some of them were on the computers, playing games and researching. He walked up to the teacher at the desk, who was reading a newspaper at the moment.
"Excuse me?" She didn't respond.
"Umm.... Mrs.....?" She looked up to him, irritation on her face.
"It's Cheerilee. How can I help you?" Cody cleared his throat.
"My name is Cody. I was wondering if I could maybe.... Use a computer?" She nodded.
"You can just use them. You don't have to ask." He nodded.
"Thank you, ma'am." He said, walking towards a computer. She looked at him as he walked to the nearest computer available and sat down.
"Cody...." She said to herself, before continuing to read her newspaper.
Fluttershy walked down the halls, and was at the door of the library. She saw Cody sitting at a computer. She walked in, hoping to not be noticed by Cody. Cheerilee looked to her.
"Oh, hey Fluttershy!" She said. Cody turned around, seeing..... Nobody. Cheerilee stared at him.
"Delinquent...." Cody said to himself, returning focus to the computer. Cheerilee looked down to Fluttershy, who was currently hiding behind her desk.
"What's wrong, Fluttershy?" Cheerilee asked in a soothing voice. Fluttershy looked up to Cheerilee, who had care in her eyes.
"I can't let him see me...." She replied in a very low voice. Cheerilee looked to Cody and back to Fluttershy.
"Do you mean Cody? Why can't you let him?" She looked around the corner, seeing Cody staring at the screen.
"I'm..... spying on him." Fluttershy admitted to Cheerilee. She only got paid back with a confused look.
"Why would you be spying on him?" She asked, Fluttershy shaking her head.
"I just need to talk to him. I don't know how!" She exclaimed. Cheerilee shook her head while returning to read her newspaper.
"I can't help you, sweetie. You just have to conquer your fears." She said, now giving her complete attention to the newspaper. Fluttershy sighed, just as Trixie came in. Fluttershy immediately stood up, walking toward the book shelves. Trixie noticed though, and started towards her.
"Nothing...." Cody said, closing the window of his computer. There was nothing on the database on 'The Republic' or 'The Empire'. Heck, it didn't even know what astromechs were. This planet had no idea of what was out in the rest of the universe. Cody opened another window seeing some news.
"Fierfek....." He said, reading it. He stood up, heading towards Cheerilee.
"Excuse me?" She sighed, putting a smile on her face.
"Can I help you?" She asked putting her newspaper down. She saw it was Cody.
"Oh, hey Cody. Fluttershy wanted to talk to you. Anyway, why do you need?" Cody looked back, seeing a blue and white haired girl picking on a pink haired girl, who was trying to ignore her.
"Umm..... I have a questio-" He was rudely interrupted by the white and blue haired girl.
"You don't ignore the Great and Powerful Trixie!! Do you understand?!" The pink haired on whimpered. Cody facepalmed.
"Excuse me over there! Can you take this somewhere else?" He asked with a polite tone. The blue girl had a smirk on her face.
"Sure we can. Let's go!" She said, dragging the yellow skinned girl out of the library. Cody turned back around to Cheerilee, who stared at Trixie in horror.
"Isn't it your job to STOP whatever's going on?" Cody asked. Cheerilee nodded in response, but a sad look grew on her face.
"I can't stop her, or she'll reveal my secret. I don't really think that would be a good idea......" She said in a soft voice. Cody suddenly gained interest.
"Who would that be? I promise not to tell anyone." He said in a soothing voice. She looked him in the eyes, and only saw honesty. She knew that it would be safe with him.
"Well...." He leaned closer to her as she whispered it in his ear.
"I see. I promise to make sure that never is revealed." She nodded, smiling to him. He smiled back, but soon returned to a straight face.
"Also, I have another question." He cleared his throat.
"What is the 'Changelings?'" Cheerilee looked around, everyone staring at a book or computer.
"They're a terrorist organization. One of their bases are stationed here, in the city of Canterlot. Each week, they come and....." Tears grew in her eyes as the doors to the library kicked open.
"We already have our girl. Where's our boy?" A man with a gun asked. The second one threw the yellow skinned girl on the ground, pointing his pistol to her. Tears were slipping out of her eyes, falling to the ground. A third man came in, a whip in his hand. Cody walked towards them.
"Someone has the courage to come and face us?" The one with a golden bandana asked himself.
"Who authorized you to come here?" Cody asked, taking the comlink out of his pocket. The piece was already in his ear, so he pressed the button, turning it green.
"The authorization is us, killing you. Do you even know who we are, boy?" The one who pointed the pistol to the girl asked. Cody looked into their green eyes.
"I know exactly who you are. A terrorist organization." The one with the whip raised it, about to try and hit Cody. Cheerilee started to dash over to him.
"Wait!! Cody!!" She finally reached the boy.
"I'm sorry that you were so..... Rudely interrupted. Now, please choose your boy and leave." She said, dragging Cody out of the way. Three of them stared at him, but the leader put his hand up, causing them to halt.
"Let's not choose him. He's a bit too tough......" They focused their attention on a blue haired guitar player.
"Wait.... No! Not me! Please!" He begged as they grabbed his arms. He looked down in defeat as he was dragged out of the room, along with the yellow skinned girl.
"Be prepared for next week...." The one with the golden bandana said, walking out of the room with the two teenagers.....
