"Sister, we need to talk."
Princess Celestia's voice rang through the halls of the castle. While still sounding light, the demanding tone was undeniable. Princess Luna shivered, expecting the worst. The steps began to be hearable, slowly approaching the room. Luna sat on the cushion, facing the door. She breathed in and out, slowly and deeply, to calm herself and not give away anything of Plenaris.
The door opened and in the frame stood Celestia, her mane waving slowly beside her face. Luna had always adored her sisters beauty and regal behaviour. She loved to see her sister, but the feeling was overcast by a nervous curiosity to know what her sister could want from her.
"Hello dear Sister, what is it you want to talk about?" Luna asked, slowly standing up.
"We need to talk about a little side project you started."
Luna suppressed a gulp and looked her sister in the face with a questioning look. "What side project do you mean?" she asked reluctantly, hiding any guilty emotion.
"The settlements in the north, dear sister." Celestia answered sternly, looking Luna directly in her eyes. "The kingdom of Plenaris. A realm you built without my consent. And don't dare lie to me. I recieved my information from a source I trust. I know what you did, know I want to know why you did it. Why you used the trust I had in you for your own gains."
Luna sat there, tears building in her eyes. Her sister has found the realm of Plenaris, her kingdom, one of her faults from the past, and now she has to answer her why she did it? Why her other side decided to do what has been done? "I am part of you" Luna heard a whisper in the back of her head and decided to ignore it.
"I... I... " Luna began, before she began to cry. She sobbed her eyes dry in front of her sister. The feeling of regret and guilt that had built up over the past few months finally overcame her. She was powerless against the force of her feelings. The whisper in the back of her head began to talk again with calming words that were resonating through her mind.
Then she couldn't hold back anymore. Princess Luna began to tell everything that had happened. How she created Winterwald over a Millenia ago. How she returned there to see how everything went. What had happened there. She told her sister everything concerning Plenaris but kept the voice inside her head a secret. Princess Luna had come to terms with her other side though she still mistrusted herself of having overcome the evil inside.
The whole time Princess Celestia stood in front of the closed door. She looked at Luna with a neutral look that was hiding her true feelings. Then she knelt in front of her sister, which was lying on the ground sobbing, and caressed her head. "Hush, my little sister, and calm yourself. I am not angry with you. I am disappointed that you didn't trust me with this matter." Celestia's voice barely reached the Moon Princess. "I thought that we finally had reunited as we were in the past and now I have to hear from a scout that this is not true. How else could I feel then the way I do now?"
Princess Luna calmed a bit down though tears were still running down her cheeks. "How else could I have acted? How else could I have taken responsibility for what I did as Nightmare Moon?" A slight cough in the back of her head occurred. "I needed to be there, to help them for what I have to do."
Celestia looked her sister into her wet eyes. "And what exactly do you need to do so importantly that you can't even tell me about it?" She asked slightly agitated.
"I need to ensure that Plenaris can stand on its own four hooves and that it can be a worthy part of Equestria. As it is now, it still lacks a means of trade and independence in case of an emergency."
Celestia shook her head and smiled. "And this you couldn't have told me? I think you just wanted to solve another problem without my help." She lifted her right hoof and embraced her sister tightly. "But remember that you don't need to do anything alone ever again. I am here for you. And I will help you with Plenaris."
Luna sighed and grabbed her sister tightly. "Thank you, but this won't be necessary. Plenaris is almost able to sustain itself. Even though the cities are further apart than in the other parts of Equestria and the terrain is rough they have means of safely shipping goods from any city to another, thanks to the stone goblets."
"You mean the same you have in your room?" Celestia asked and looked to her right. There it stood, burning with a blue flame atop. A goblet she never realised the power it contained, even though she had studied it for quiet some time. "Do you understand the goblet? What it can do?"
Luna hesitated, then answered truthfully. "Partly, yes. If it is ignited with a magical bolt, a flame will appear like this one. Each goblet is then connected to another ignited goblet. Anyone can send an object through it without problems and I can even traverse from here to the north. The flame seems to fade after some time, but can be strengthened through the magic of any unicorn. The flame doesn't change as far as I know. I also know that another, entirely separate dimension is created upon connecting the goblets, though it might be touching another realm at certain points. In this realm, the goblets act as a beacon which you can traverse to in a short amount of time. I arrive in the north in a matter of seconds. I don't know what happens with objects though and I never saw another flame then the night blue flame you see on top of this goblet." The younger Princess sighed and looked at her sister. Was she satisfied with her explanation?
"And you are certain that nothing happens to you?" Was the only response Luna received.
The young Princess waited for a few seconds, before she answered. "I am not certain, but after a few uses I don't think that much would happen. If all the lights extinguished, I might get trapped in the other dimension, but I don't think that this could happen without a coordinated and well planed act of sabotage."
Princess Celestia raised and turned around. She waited in front of the door and looked at the goblet for a moment. "I allow you to visit Plenaris, if you write me a weekly report about the political, social and economical situation of Plenaris and what your goals are in each matter."
Then she opened the door and left. Princess Luna sat there perplexed, before she jumped up, ran towards the door and thanked her sister through the halls. Then she immediately began to prepare the necessary documents. One page for the political, one for the social and one for the economical situtaion and another page for her goals and how far she was. Each page she copied tenfold and then stepped through the flame into Plenaris, ready to achieve what she had dreamed of the last thousand years. To be truly reunited with her beloved elder sister.
