It was a calm evening and the moon was bright and glowing. For the past few days, the two princesses of day and night have seen many things and met many… interesting individuals. But this also came with the news of what had happened with the changeling hives. They were glad about one thing though. That the chaos from outside had not reach the walls of the city.
Yet…
Tonight though, things were… different. It first started when one of the guards notice what appeared to be rose petals blowing with the wind. However, this was seen not just in one location, but all across the town. Some would see it as a mystery or an illusion, but since the guard was to be prepared at all times, they had a few of the scouts look around to try and see what was going on.
That was an hour ago. Now, those same scouts were beginning to question why they were out there wasting their time. That was… until they looked at the top of the castle… and saw what exactly they were looking for. But to their surprise, what it was caught them off guard. The creature was bipedal, wore a black skirt and shoes with a very long red sash and hood. It had something attached to it’s back, but they couldn’t tell what it was.
But the one thing they could tell was that it wasn’t planning to be quiet.
“YAAANG!!! YOU GUYS LOOK LIKE ANTS FROM UP HERE!”
“You’re not suppose to be sightseeing, idiot!!” Another voice shouted out.
“Sorry, I just got carried-.” It stopped speaking the moment that the pegasus scouts that were looking around town earlier were in her field of vision. “Oh my god. GIRLS, LOOK!!! PONIES!!” This caused one of the scouts to scurry into the castle and call for backup.
“Ruby, what are you-?” A third voice began to speak, before it’s ears twitch at the sound of movement on the ground. “Did she really just attract the attention of almost the entire army?”
“Seems like it.” Now the other three voices can be seen as their shadows lingered over the courtyard. They were along the wall of the city and also had different appearances. The first one was a girl in white with a rapier she kept on her hip. Another girl was in black and wore a bow, with a white undershirt while the final one had a gold like mane and wore a leather vest and two huge yellow bracers. “Ruby, get down from there!”
“Why? This is so fun!!”
“Not if you consider “fun” as getting chased by the military! RUN!!!”
The one named Ruby soon turned around to see arrows being shot at her. “Okay, run away!” Now, she leaped from the top of the building and landed on a nearby rooftop in order to join her friends. “So, who’s got a plan of attack?”
“I have a plan. Attack-.”
“Yang, no. We’re not hurting any of them. We just need to get out of here-.”
“HALT!!!” A new voice echoed, causing all four of them to skid to a screeching stop.
“Who said that?” Ruby said, looking around with a confused look on her face. “Weiss, was that you?”
“Do you think that sounded like me?” She asked seriously.
“Good point, you would be a lot more… you if you were mad as us.”
“Both of you, shut up and look over here.” The girl who was known as Yang told the two of them, using one of her arms to turn Ruby around. The four of them were now staring at another pony. However, this one was a LOT different from the others that they have come across. It’s mane resembled the night sky and it’s fur was a light blue. Not only that, but it had a pair of wings and also a horn.
“Oh this can’t end well.” Said Weiss as she turned her attention towards Yang. “You see! This is why we can’t leave Ruby alone by herself!”
“You four… Follow me. My sister and I have some questions for you.” The Alicorn said, using her wing as a sign for the guards to stand down.
“Is this about how I turned all the statues head around in that huge castle behind you?” Ruby asked.
“No, but thanks for telling me that you did that. Now I know who exactly to have them all turned back around.” Luna said. “Ironically, you aren’t the first of your kind my sister and I have come across… Human and Faunus.”
“Wait, there’s someone else here other than us?” Said Blake.
“Indeed,” A second voice began to ring through the room as another pony with a horn and wings entered the room. “But before we get to that, how about we have you introduce yourselves and in return, we can introduce ourselves to you.”
“.......Girls, huddle.” Ruby said they formed a circle away from the two alicorn princesses. “I think they might be in league with the FBI.”
“Ruby, you’re an idiot. They don’t have the FBI here. Anyway do you think we can trust them?”
“They seem to know a bit about us and what’s going on. What I’m curious to know is how they know all of this. Something tells me that someone else told them about Humans and Faunus. I hope they can’t tell that I have cat ears though.” Blake sighed before looking back at the princesses. “Yang, your thoughts?”
“For the time being let’s follow them and see how this goes. If anything weird happens, we’ll make a break for it.”
Around the time she said that was when Discord, the Spirit of Chaos, flew in through a window without making a scratch. “Evening Princesses? What do we have here?”
“HOLY CRAP WHAT IS THAT THING?!” Yelled Ruby pointing at Discord. “IT LOOK LIKE SOMEONE JUST THREW A BUNCH OF ANIMAL INTO A BLENDER AND MADE THAT!-” Before she could say anything else, Discord snapped his talon and a piece of duct tape covered her mouth.
“For your information, I am Discord. Spirit of Chaos and also… I am NOT A THING!!! I am a draconequus.” He sighed. Looking at the rest of them, he smirked. “Well, just when I thought that having one of you in Ponyville was tricky enough.”
“What do you mean by that?” Asked Weiss, who was a bit annoyed by that statement.
“Well, I know that not all of you are like Ms. Rose, but I’m sure you’re aware of it… Unless Celestia and Luna didn’t tell you about Sun yet.”
“Wait... you... the actual character or someone cosplaying as him?” Asked Yang.
“Why do you ask? Did you four get yourself in the same situation that he did? Because so far, I’m getting the feeling that you might have the same story as he did.”
Ruby removed the tape that was covering her mouth. “OW! Much better.” She then turn her attention towards Discord. “W-We don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Like I haven’t heard that before.” A new voice from the end of the hall echoed as everyone turned. Surprisingly, standing there was the same Faunus that was mentioned earlier. “You may act like them, but I can tell that you’re in the same boat as me. I can tell that they’re Displaced.”
“.........Fuck.” Said Yang.
“It’s a sayian!” Yelled Ruby.
“I’m not a freaking saiyan!! How many times do I need to explain what the hell a faunus is?”
“Well you have golden hair, and a tail so you must be one.” Sun just sighed as he looked at the other three girls in the room. “Is she always like this?”
“She wasn’t always like this from the start. Originally she was a bit of a bitch until she landed on her head.” Said Weiss. “Now she’s kinda stuck like this.”
“Either that or she swapped personalities with someone in particular…… Ice queen.” Sun smirked. “Now that I think of it, I think I saw you four before.”
“Okay one, call me ice queen again and you’ll be having blue balls for the next two weeks. Second how do you know us?” Said Weiss.
“I saw you guys at RTX. You were entering for the group cosplay competition around the time when I passed by to get my badge. My friend snapped a photo of you guys while your back was turned and then said that Yang was hot, but that’s his problem, not mine.” To prove a point, Sun showed the image that was forwarded to him for the girls to see.
“Huh? Well that explains how you knew us from RTX.” Said Blake.
“Indeed it does, Kitty cat.”
“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about, monkey boy.”
“Your bow. It’s been twitching on it’s own for the past few minutes.” The Monkey Faunus replied. “A good place to hide a pair of ears if you ask me.”
“............” Just as Blake was about to say something, everyone from inside the room they were in heard a loud banging sound.
“RUBY!!!”
“That wasn’t me!” She said as she pointed at a random royal guard passing by. “It was him!”
Without her noticing, Sun used the staff form of Ruyi and Jingu bang to pluck Crescent Rose out from behind her, the barrel still smoking hot. “You were saying?”
“Um…...A ghost took control of me and made me do it.”
“Idiot.” Weiss said with a deadpanned expression on her face.
“Well at least she’s not acting like a jerk anymore.” Said Yang.
“Right… Well, I’m going to go back on a nice walk… Kill some Grimm… maybe get summoned by another Displaced? Who knows? Maybe Max needs me to help take care of her fillies. Rainbows a real cute one.” The Monkey Faunus said as he walked out the door. Going back to the cottage where he was with Fluttershy.
“......What?” Was all the four girls could say.
“Oh don’t mind him. He’s probably going to go Grimm hunting.”
“Wait so there are Grimm here?” Asked Ruby.
“Eeyup…” Discord replied, looking out the window. “Oh hey, Sun found himself company!” By company, he meant an Ursa Major that was the den mother of a few other Grimm. “And made mama bear upset.”
“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?” Yelled Weiss.
“That… is a Grimm. Specifically, Ursa Major. They’re monsters that formed from the negativity of everyone’s em- Oh, boy. Where’s Ruby?” Discord asked, noticing a sign on the floor that says “Be right back” in bold letters.
“Dammit! She ran off again!” Yelled Weiss as she began to chase after Ruby. Blake, noticed something… The sign continued on the other side. “Going to kill Grimm.”
“Girls… This may be a bit worse than we previously thought.”
“How so?” Asked Yang
“Your sister is trying to catch up with monkey boy-.” Before Blake could finish though, Discord began to chuckle.
“Player 2 has entered the ring.” He smiled. Looking outside, Blake, Weiss, and Yang looked to see who he was talking about. They saw Ruby heading towards where Sun was, only for a Grimm to block her path. Ruby saw this and in mere seconds brought her scythe up and sliced the Grimm in two.
“Out of my way foxhead!” Ruby yelled as she landed perfectly next to Sun.
“Well now, nice to see that you can fight. Guess your gonna give me a hand with these guys then?” He asked as he blew off the face of an incoming grimm.
“Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.” Ruby said a she switch her scythe into gun mode, and shot a hole through a Grimm’s chest. “Then again I was getting bored waiting so I might as well help.”
“Glad to see you in action then… I’ll take the twenty on the right? You take the twenty on the left?” He asked, reloading his weapons.
“Okay, but try not to get into my line of fire.” Ruby switched from gun mode to scythe mode, as a devilish grin appeared on her face. “I have a nasty habit of hitting others in my way sometimes.”
“Won’t be a problem.” Sun replied back, clapping his hands together and using his semblance to make two doppelgangers of himself before they exploded into nearby foes. “Just focus on your opponents and I’ll focus on mine!”
“No promises.”
Sun smiled. He liked his odds. As they continued to fight, the faunus used the tactic of having some grimm become meat shields so they get ripped at by the shots that Ruby didn’t exactly aim when they went off. Another thing that was to his advantage was his speed and flexibility. Making dodging bullets… not a problem.
“Now this is fun!!” He proclaimed… a little too soon. Ruby was preparing something that Sun had no idea of until she actually did it.
“Prepare to have your heads cut off.” Ruby said as she pulled out a metal like string from under her cape, and wrapped it around the end of her weapon. Seeing this, Sun’s first move was to hit the deck and stay low. “Because you’re about to see Ruby’s Crescent Boomerang attack that I just made up.” She said as she begun to swing her scythe around like ball hooked to a chain.
“Oh boy…”
Ruby increased the speed of her swinging as she tossed her scythe at the Grimms heads. During this this time she started singing a song from her mp3 player she was listening to. “God or demon? What am I? It’s time for me to chose my path. Power of. My Crescent Scythe. No evildoer will get past.”
“HEY!! WATCH WHERE YOU’RE THROWING THAT THING!!!! YOU COULD’VE CLEAVED THE ENTIRE MOUNTAINSIDE!!”
Ruby couldn’t hear Sun’s complaint as she continue to cut, toss, and singing her way through the Grimm. “Hand to hand going fist to fist. Killing Grimms or Twist your wrist. Crescent Scythe keep my pimp hand strong. So trust me or you won’t last very long.” Around now, she wasn’t slicing at grimm anymore, but the environment around her as she was caught up in the lyrics of the song. Now though, Sun had one idea in order to knock some sense into her.
“Dragon kick your ass into the milky way!-”
“SHORYUKEN!!”
Ruby did not know what hit her as Sun gave her an uppercut to the chin and knocked her backwards. “Note to self: NEVER sing while fighting.”
“OW! That hurt! What was that for!?” Asked Ruby as she rubbed her chin.
“While you were singing to yourself, you cut down all the trees in the area after you killed off the grimm and ALMOST KILLED ME! Hell, if you continued, that scythe might’ve hit that train of passengers over there.” The monkey stated, pointing it out to her while she was looking.
“Oh……..I’m not apologizing for doing that.”
“The singing or almost killing me? Because one of them I will take offense to.”
“Both, and to be fair I did warn you didn’t I?”
“Yeah, but when you started destroying things OTHER than Grimm, I had to step in. You still have a long ways to go, even do you do have some pretty good moves.”
“Well why did you think I went all out on them. The only time I do something like that is when no one is around or when facing something like we just fought.”
“Yet, you ignored what I tried to tell you earlier and you were singing Hand to hand going fist to fist. Killing Grimms or Twist your wrist?” Sun said, raising an eyebrow.
“Well I guess you should’ve tried harder enough huh?” Ruby said as she looked around herself. “Geez look at all the damage we caused. I have to say it looks kinda cool.”
“More like damage YOU caused. All of this happened because of your stunt earlier.” He then asked her another question. “How long have you been in Equestria for?”
“About two to three days, why?”
“I’ve been here a LOT longer. Two MONTHS longer.” Sun said, going through the wreckage and finding something that caught his attention. A hurt wolf pup. Including a golden retriever that reminded Ruby of her sister, Yang. Carefully, he picked the pup up and applied some bandages to it. “The longer you’re here, the more you will see that there are consequences to your actions. I’m sorry Ruby, but I gotta go. This pup from the shelter you destroyed need immediate medical care.” With that, Sun left, taking the hurt wolf pup with him back to where ever he was going. Leaving Ruby in all the collateral damage.
“Tch, whatever. It’s not like they were going to stuff this will happen.” Ruby said as she sat down on a broken tree stump. “What’s the big deal anyway? It’s not like I was gonna kill anyone besides the Grimms.” That’s when she felt a nudge by her leg. Turning to look, Ruby was surprised to see the same golden retriever from before right next to her with a bleeding paw and a sad look in her eyes. “What do you want?”
Before Ruby could say anything else, the dog went up and placed itself on her lap, hoping that the girl would comfort her. “*Sigh* Guess I really did go overboard huh?” Ruby asked as she petted the dog. “It’s not like I did on purpose or anything? I saw that there was trouble and I had to do something about it.” While petting, she noticed that the dog had a collar on. Turning it around, she saw a name on the dog that cheered her up a little.
“Zwei. If found please return to Prince Blueblood at once or else…… Hey Zwei, do you want to return to this Blueblood pony?” The retriever moaned, shaking her head. “Do you want to go on an adventure?” Around that point, the dog’s tail was wagging uncontrollably. “Alright then you’re my dog from now on, before we go on adventures together I just want to say this.” She said as she lifted Zwei up. “When I start singing and have my headphones on… keep your distance from me and get Yang. Okay?”
Zwei’s reply was a happy bark, making Ruby feel very cheerful. “Good now let’s get the hell out of here before this Blueblood character appears, and try to take you away from me.” Zwei nodded, before running back towards the castle and barking. Ruby began to wonder why the constant barking. But that’s when she turned around and saw who it was.
“THAT CREATURE STOLE MY DOG!!”
“And that’s my cue to leave. RUN FOR IT, ZWEI!” Ruby yelled as she and Zwei ran off into the night.
