Just keeping them safeby kitkat0528ChaptersDifferentHereNo Choice But The TARDISThe Doctor's crewDifferentI woke up to see a little purple filly next to me. Filling the small spot of my bed where he should be. I smile at Dinky. Then shake her to wake up. "DINKY! Wake up, what are you doing here?" I ask. Dinky moans. "Dinky, why are you here, did you have a nightmare?" "Mmm... mommy, I want to sleep, today is Saturday," Dinky says. I sigh. "Wake up, you have a Doctors appointment in-" I check my alarm clock "- An hour! Dinky, get up, we need to give you a bath," I tell her. Dinky turns to me. "Fine. But I get to read the rest of my books all day," Dinky says. I smirk. "Okay, but get up. Now," I say. Dinky lifts her torso up, before hopping off my bed, and to my bathroom Where she always take her baths. Dinky climbs in the bath tub, and I turn the water on. "Dinky, can you tell me why you were in my bed last night?" "I-I felt really lonely. And... I don't know. Lately, my life is all weird," Dinky says. I sigh. She's like him, I think. "How so? Why is it so weird?" I ask. Dinky looks down. Not answering. "Dinky, please. You can tell me anything, I promise," I tell Dinky. She looks up. "Okay. I-I noticed that, my classes are so easy. I excel at them and... I read at an unimaginable speed, and I have these really weird skills and ability's. Athletics and in class. Its strange. Really strange," Dinky explains. I smile. "Dinky, your just a special pony, that's all. You're different, and that's not a problem. I mean, take my eye. It's all weird and goes every where, but that's not bad, Dinky. You should accept who you are, and maybe be happy about. You're better than those mean bullies, right?" I ask. Dinky tries to offer a smile but I see right though it. "Now, no more worry. Let's get you all dried off and ready for your appointment," I say. I turn of the water and help Dinky out of the tub. I grab a towel to dry her off, and walk her downstairs for breakfast. "Hi, mom," Sparkler says. She's eating a bowl of cereal at the counter. "So, how was your morning with Dinky?" "Fine, Sparkler. I didn't think you would be up so early," I say. Sparkler rolls her eyes. "Duh. I have to catch up on Operation Love, it's totally a full day of binge watching. All my friends have totally caught up," Sparkler explains. I chuckle. "Sorry to burst your bubbles, muffin, but you have a doctors appointment, so does Dinky, and yours is first," I tell Sparkler. Sparkler sighs in frustration. "Okay, but make sure it's quick, I have an entire two seasons! And the new episode for tonight!" Sparkler says. Twelve year old's. So moody, I think. I see Dinky finishing a bowl of cereal, and I grab a muffin from the fresh baked basket of last night. "Okay, we have ten more minutes. Let's go!" I say. Sparkler and Dinky trot outside. I scarf down my blueberry muffin and trot out after them. We trot over to the hospital. Dinky and Sparkler's doctor, Amelia Pond. She became there doctor when I told her that both of them were his children. We sit in the waiting room. Just waiting for the name to get called. Sparkler already knows she has to hearts, but not why. But Dinky doesn't, and is not a pony at all. With all her qualities, I think it's safe to say that she's a time lord. This is not safe at all. This isn't good at all. She's his. She's bound to be like him. She's bound to be the next Time Lord. "Sparkler Hooves?" I hear a voice ask. It's Amelia. I look up trot over to the mare, motioning for Dinky and Sparkler to come. "Come with me," She says, leading us to a small room. She closes the door behind her. "Okay, Sparkler, just lay down onto your back on the bed," Amy instructs. Sparkler gulps and lays down. "Okay, Sparkler. Just let me check you heart beats," Amy puts her stethoscope on Sparklers chest, first the right side, the the left. "Good, it's all good. Now, has there been anything unusual happening? Any sort of changes of such?" Amy asks. Sparkler thinks for a second and nods. Sparkler leans closer to Amy's ear and whispers something. "Oh, yes. Puberty. Um, is that all?" Amy asks. Sparkler nods. I sigh in relief. She's not like him. "Okay, I'm going to leave you two fillies in here, while I talk to your mother out in the hall, okay?" Amy takes me out into the hall, closing the door. "Okay, so, I'm sure you know of her normal pony changes, as her age usually has. Now, she does have two hearts. Like him," Amy says. I sigh. I know that already. "I know I already told you, but she has no problems with them. Also, she may have two hearts, but she is not, fully a Time Lord. She has no traits like that of any sort except his hearts. So, I'm sure you're very happy about that," Amy explains. Good. She isn't a Time Lord. "I guess it's time to tell Dinky about her two hearts, shouldn't we," Amy says. I nod. We open the door, and come back in. "Okay, time for Dinky's turn!" Amy says. I suck in a breath. "Dinky, I want you to do the same things that Sparkler did," Amy instructs again. Dinky climbs up, laying on her back. "Now, I'm going to tell you a few things about your self. It's going to be shocking, and you must promise to never tell anyone," Amy says. Dinky nods. Crossing her heart. "Okay... Dinky, you have two hearts. You were born with two hearts, and one is supposed to be a back up. You will live very long with them," Amy explains. "Now for the check up," Amy says. She listens to Dinky's heart beats. And smiles. "All good there. Now, is there any symptoms, any weird happenings?" Amy asks. Dinky nods. "I've been excelling in every subject, I can hear extremely well, I learn really fast, my athletic ability's are really different, and so on, so fourth," Dinky explains. I look down at the floor. "Thank you for the information, again, I must talk with you mother," Amy brings me out again. Quickly shutting the door. "Her hearts are fine. Nothings wrong there. But... by the sounds of it," She leans in, because Dinky might hear. "She's a Time Lord. Her cutiemark will be an hours glass, and she will soar the cosmos like her father. I'm so sorry. She's a Time Lord. Almost all of him is her body, and both unicorns will be able to regenerate. That's why they are unicorns," Amy explains. My heart drops. She exactly like him. She will become the next Doctor. Her life will be risk so many times. Her life will not be safe.. "Okay... Okay..." I try to stop them, but tears start to fall. I try to close my eyes, squeeze them shut, but I can't stop them. "Look, I know you just want her to be safe. But, this is her destiny. You can't take that away from her. I know how close you were with him. I can only imagine it. But, Derpy, both our lives have been risked more than a few times with him. But we still live today. And if he didn't hurt us, than he surely won't hurt his daughter," Amy explains. I look at her. And shake my head. "I can't let that happen, Amelia. I can't let her be risked. I can't let Sparkler or Dinky be risked like I was. I never even told him that I had Sparkler, and I never got a chance to tell him about Dinky, either. He left because he knew I couldn't function like I used. But he never knew why! We can't communicate with him, we can't tell him anything. Or he will come back, take my children out into the cosmos, and I'll find them dead in the TARDIS when he comes back!" I cry. Amelia shakes her head. "No, Derpy, it's him, were talking about. And your children should know who there father is, and they should get to choose," Amy says. I shake my head. "No! That's my final answer! I'm not letting my children go with a crazy pony who TIME TRAVELS!" I say. Amelia sighs and nod. Letting me make this choice. "I wish I was never tied with him. I wish that he never left, and I wish that... we never... had are little sequence of love. But now, now I have two beautiful daughters with him, and he gave me them," I tell Amy. I open the door to the room. "Come on, fillies, were leaving. The appointment is over," I say. The two unicorns trot out, acting like they heard nothing, when the clearly heard everything. Author's Note Hey, everypony! Thanks for reading my story. I had this idea while eating dinner, so if there any mistakes please tell me! Just wanted to get this out there. Up in the cloud. Here"Mom, what did you mean? About... about... him, whoever he is. And, what do mean by time travels?" Sparkler asks at dinner. I sigh and try to ignore the question. I take a bite of my food but once I gulp it down, I have no appetite anymore. "Seriously, mom, who were you talking about? And what does Dinky's destiny have to do with anything?" Sparkler pushes. I shake my head. "It's none of your concern, Sparkler. Dinky, don't ask any questions either," I tell them. Dinky sighs and leaves the table. Sparkler looks at me blankly. "Look, mom, you should at lest tell Dinky. I heard what you said, like, I'm only half of... I forgot what you called it. But Dinky is exactly like him. I'm thinking that's our dad," Sparkler says. She waits for an answer. I look down at my plate. Then I frown. "Ugh. Fine, he was an earth pony, light brown coat, dark brown mane. He had blue eyes. His cutie mark was an hour glass and he has no relation to unicorns. That's all I'm telling you," I snap. I stand up take my plate to the sink. "Well, why isn't he here, then? Where did he go? What happened?" Sparkler asks. I shutter. "He-He's dead. That's why it's so hard for me to talk about it," I lie. I meet Sparkler's gaze. She's frowning. "No, mom. He is not dead. Not by the sounds of it. Did you divorce? Did he just want to leave you? What-" "I couldn't go with him!" I yell. Louder than I'd intended. "I... He did dangerous things. I used to do it with him, but I couldn't let that happen. I couldn't let you get hurt if you went with him. And I couldn't go at all with Dinky in my stomach! He doesn't know that he's your father. He left me because I was sick. But he never paid attention to why, okay? He was like a dare devil, that's all you need to know. That's all Dinky needs to know. This is the end of the conversation," I explain. Sparkler sighs, then nods. "Okay. If that's what you want. But that still doesn't explain me and Dinky's two hearts," Sparkler says. "Sparkler, that was because I kept flying and lingering mail when I shouldn't have been. Not when I was pregnant, so you didn't grow correctly, and you have two hearts. Stop pushing the subject," I demand. Sparkler trots up stairs. I sigh. Dinky probably heard all of that. Both are too smart. They know I'm lying. But Dinky is so curios... Like him. I decided to follow Sparkler up stairs into my room. I'm tired, and I just want to go to bed. I need to keep my mind off of him. I hop in bed, and pull the covers onto me. "Goodnight, Doctor," I whisper. "Geronimo." * * * * I here screaming when come in the house. It sounds like Dinky. "Mooooooooommy! Mommy! Help me! HELP ME!" Dinky screams. I drop the groceries in my hooves and gallop up stairs. "Mom! It's like this silver pony! It's like a robot!" Sparkler says. Cyber Ponies, I think. I try to pen the door to Dinky's room, but it's locked. Then, a sonic screw driver in a pony's brown hoof appears, he's not looking at me. The door opens and the brown colt gallops in, using his sonic screw driver to make the Cyber Pony shut down. I trot in and push the Cyber Pony out the window. The pony looks at me, and it's him. "Miss Hooves... I must leave, thank you very much!" He gallops out. I hear a door opening then slamming shut. I can't help myself. I curl up into a ball like a coward, wrap my rings around myself, and cry. Tears start streaming down my face. "M-Mom? Are you alright?" Sparkler asks. I ignore her. I ignore everything. All I can think about is that he's here. His TARDIS is somewhere outside, and my kids are endanger. I sure hope the Daleks don't realize that Dinky and Sparkler are somewhat like The Doctor, or for that matter, related. "Mommy, the robot pony scared me, please be alright. I don't like it how you cry," Dinky says. I can't stop it. I'll try but it won't work. I miss him so much, but I can't let my children get hurt. I look up Dinky, tears still pooling out of my eyes. "I'm not leaving you two home alone," I tell them. Dinky nods. Sparkler looks down, the corners of her lips rising up. "Can... can I stay home alone? I mean, it's not going to happen again, and I can take care of Dinky, and myself," Sparkler says. I shake m head. The tears have finally stopped. "No. That... what just happened... that might happen again," I tell them. Sparkler nods. "Okay," She sighs, and sits on her bed. Dinky hugs me. I hug her back. Dinky lets go and sit on her bed, on the other side of the room. I stand up, and I trot out of the room. I'm in kitchen, and I look at a picture of me, Sparkler, and Dinky. All in a pose. It's supposed to be a family picture, but somepony is missing. I imagine The Doctor in the picture, with the family, with his special pose. I wonder what our life would be like if I told him I was pregnant. If I told him that Sparkler was at home, or that both of them were his daughters. I wonder what his life is like now. If he has another companion, or he is just alone. Waiting for the for me to come back. For me to come and travel on his adventures again. If he ever asked me, I don't think I could say no. It would be a dream to do it, but I don't know if I could say yes, either. I would let my children choose. I would go and do what ever they would do. But, I would give anything to be back in the old days with The Doctor. Going on adventure. Doing so many little things together. Saving just a few aliens, or an entire race, it didn't matter. We had fun on our adventures, we had thrill, we had love. I can remember our little word that started us, our little word that meant so many tings. The word that always gave each other assurance; Geronimo. * * * * "Okay, have fun at school!" I tell the kids. There trotting to school. But in public. Nothing's going to happen. Nothing at all. I trot back into the house. I have to do dishes, then it's mail. I turn on the water to the sink. I grab the first bowl and scrub it down, then set it dry. Then I do the next, then the next, and so on. Once I finish that, I put on my mailing cap, then my bag full of mail I grabbed yesterday from the post office. I turn around to face the door, look up and gasp. The Doctor's here. I suck in a breath. He rubs the back of his neck. "Hello, Miss Hooves," He says. "Long time no see," He says. I'm to stunned to speak. I open my mouth to say something but my vocal chords just aren't working. "I didn't know you had two daughters. That's quite wonderful, I think that's a good accomplishment," He tries. I gulp. Then something comes out of me, something between a screech, and sob. "You- you..." I stammer. "I've... I-I... you just..." I can't speak, my brain isn't working right. The Doctor steps forward, before sighing. "I know that this is pretty sudden. And I know that it's been a while. I'm sure seeing your Ex is probably weird," He says. "I should probably go, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, or ruin your day, I just wanted to see your face again, you should probably get to work," He tells me. He turns to leave. "No! Don't go! Please, don't go!" I sob. He turns back to me, and his eyes go wide when he see's tears streaming down my face. My vision is blurred from tears. "I love you," I whisper. The Doctor steps closer to me, and strokes my hair. Then stops, realizing something that I don't understand. "I should... I really should go, Miss Hooves. If you already have two young mares, I'm sure you have a husband," He says. I shake my head, before kissing him. He jumps, before kissing me back. "Derpy, what in Equestria is happening?" He asks. I smile at him. "I'm not married. I don't have a boyfriend, I couldn't do that to you. I already left, but I couldn't do anything more to you, in case you came back!" I cry. The Doctor smiles. "Derpy, I was always going to come back. It was just a matter of when. And now... now danger is lurking everywhere. I had to come back to ponyville," The Doctor explains. I have to tell him "Doctor, I have to tell you something. Something about my daughter's," I say. The Doctor's ears perk up. "What is it?" He asks. I wait a few seconds. "I-I... They are..." How do you even phrase a statement like that? "You... you've been gone six years... and... Sparkler is... she's your daughter. I had her six years before you left, and I had her at home, never told her about you. And, Dinky is also... Dinky is also yours. I became pregnant with her a couple weeks before you left," I explain. The Doctor's ear twitches, and he's staring at me blankly. "Derpy..." He smiles. Then he chuckles. "I'm... I'm a father... and I-I'm a father Derpy! I'm a father! I actually have a family! I'm nt alone anymore! No more time in the cosmos alone! I'm a father, with a family! Derpy, how is this... we... I don't remember..." He stops, trying to think. "That doesn't matter, Doctor. We are a family, we have children. You're a father, Doctor," I say. The Doctor lets go of me and starts dancing around. "Wait a minute, how much of me is them? Oh no, the Daleks are here! Please don't tell me there Time Lords!" The Doctor pleads. I frown. "Um... Sparkler has two hearts, but she doesn't have any of your traits. She's only got half of you. And Dinky... Dinky is Time Lord. She will do exactly what you do... and she... her destiny is to have an hour glass cutiemark... and She will travel with you. However, I'm trying to tare that destiny away! I don't want my children dying on all of you missions! Doctor, we can't do that with them! I can't-" "Derpy, you may have no choice. Already, Daleks are all over ponyville. They are searching for Dinky and Sparkler right now! In public the daleks will take them. But in an alley way or something they will kill! You are not going to find them dead in my TARDIS because of a mission. You will find them dead in an alley way because you don't know how to protect them. You really should have told me," The Doctor says. No Choice But The TARDIS"Okay, so the Daleks are out to find our children, and ultimately you, that's a big problem Doctor," I say. The Doctor rolls his eyes. "Derpy, do you still want to go on Adventures?" The Doctor asks me. "Um... I don't know!" I say. He smiles. "Let's go!" He asks. My eyes start to get blurry, but I squeeze them shut, and stop the tears from falling. I smile at the Doctor and kiss him. "What?" I say. I pull my bag and hat off of my head, and gallop out of the door with the Doctor. We gallop down the path that the kids would usually take to get to school. School would have started, so I gallop up into the school door. Stopping right before I hit it. The Doctor is behind me. I open the door to find two rooms. One for the older fillies. One for the younger. The mare at the front desk looks at us. "How can I help you?" She asks. "Um, may we take our children out of school?" I ask. "Sure, just sign here," She hands a clip board with a highlighted mark on the page. I sign the where it's highlighted. I hand her the clap board back. Then she motions for us to go back and take our fillies out. I walk through the open door of Mrs. Cheeraly's class. All eyes are on me and the Doctor. "Um, I need Dinky for the rest of the week. We are... going on a trip," I say. Some kids groan. I hear a few kids say; "That's not fair!" Dinky hops out of her seat and walks out of the room. I open the door to Sparklers class. "We need Sparkler for the rest of the week. Were going on a trip," I say. Sparkler trots over to us from her seat. I smile at how quick she did that. I close the door. We trot out of the school. "Okay, mom? Who is this?" Sparkler asks. She looks the Doctor over and smiles the happiest smile. "This looks an awful lot like how you explained our father looked, and his cutiemark is an hourglass," Sparkler smirks at me. The Doctor's cheeks go red. "It's... just a friend?" I smile at Sparkler. Dinky jumps on top of the Doctor. "Daddy!" Dinky says. The Doctor smiles. "Yes, Dinky. I'm your father," He looks at Sparkler. "Biological, not your mom's boyfriend," He lowers his voice. Sparkler hugs him. I smack my face with my hoof. Why did I tell them? "Derpy, you seriously didn't them anything other than what I look like? Nothing about what we did? Nothing about what I do? Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?" He asks. I look away, and nod. "I didn't... I don't know. I was afraid of telling you. I wasn't ready to leave you. But when you thought I was sick, I guess you left for me," I explain, careful not to ad any details about time travel or the TARDIS. "Have... have you told them about what I do?" He asks. I look at him and shame my. He frowns. Dinky ruffles his hair and lays her head on his. He smiles again. "Dinky, why are you already warming up to me?" The Doctor asks. Dinky lifts her head. "Because I always wanted a father. What's a Time Lord? Mommy said that I'm the only one like you, and she said that you can time travel. She also said that your dangerous, like a dare devil," Dinky says. I feel my cheeks burn. The Doctor laughs, looking at me. "Your mother said a great deal of things. She is right. To be with me, your life will be risk almost every second. She is also right about time traveling, you want to come?" He asks. I stare at him. "If mommy let's you, that is," He looks at me and smiles. "Okay, Doctor, nothing more about anything. Remember what I said about keeping them safe?" I ask him. He smirks, then looks at Dinky. "Your a Doctor? Mom, what's so bad about that?" Sparkler asks. I roll my eyes at the Doctor. "That's... just what I call him. What I've always called him. He's not actually a-" "Then why call him that?" Dinky asks, I sigh. "Because of adult reasons. Reasons that you won't understand," I say. Dinky gives my a smug look. "Your going to play the adult card with me? You know very well that I will understand," Dinky says. Sparkler giggles. I smile. "Okay, fine. You-" "Wait a minute!" The Doctor says. "Be quiet," He orders. We all stay silent. I don't hear anything. "Daleks!" He exclaims. I gasp. "How could... They shouldn't be here," I say. The Doctor nods. "Listen, Derpy. We need to draw them out of here. I need to get into the TARDIS and draw them to space. Either we do this or not. I really don't want to go alone, and I can't leave you now. Please, either save an entire pony race, and all four of us go, or we sit down here like cowards, and the Daleks capture us, and let the pony race be destroyed," The Doctor explains. I suck in a breath. "I... I'll do it," I tell him. The Doctor smiles. "I didn't think you were going to say that. Geronimo?" He asks. I think for a second. Do I really want to do this? Yes! Do it! Do it! You should save this pony race. You should also save your daughters. I just hope I get both. "Geronimo," I tell him. The Doctor smiles. "Come on, girls. Let's go on an adventure!" The Doctor starts galloping towards the ever free forest. "I landed the TARDIS in the ever free forest," He says. Dinky and Sparkler look at me with confused faces. I mouth "Explain Later" to them. We run deep into the ever free, and I start to worry. I start hearing EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! DESTROY THE DOCTOR! DESTROY ALL TIME LORDS! EXTERMINATE! Were close to the Daleks. Dinky jumps off of the Doctor. "Mommy, what is that? I've been hearing it ever since we started trotting out of school," Dinky says. I sigh. "Daleks. Doctor? Where is the TARDIS?" I ask desperately. The Doctor thinks for a second. "Just this way, only a little-" "KILL THE DOCTOR! KILL THE DOCTOR! KILL ALL TIME LORDS!" The voices are close. The Daleks are close. Dinky hides behind my hoof. Sparkler hides behind the Doctor. "Dad, what's going to happen, please tell me there isn't any danger," Sparkler pleads. The Doctor strokes Sparklers mane. "I'm going to have to say no to that," The Doctor takes out his sonic screw driver. "Derpy, the TARDIS is that way," He points in a direction. "I want you to grab your children and do one thing; Run." I suck in a breath, before I pick up Dinky, and grab Sparklers hoof. I run. I run as fast as I can in the direction he pointed. I don't even look back, I just run until I find a big blue police box. Daleks are everywhere. I bolt into the TARDIS before slamming the doors shut. I let out the breath. Daleks start pounding on the door. But they won't get in. "M-Mom? What's going to happen to Dad? Is he coming too?" Sparkler asks. I look as Dinky, then back at Sparkler. "I... Yes. I promise, that Daddy will comeback I promise," I say. I don't know if I can keep this promise, but I think it's more for myself than for Sparkler. We wait. One minute. Two minutes. Five minutes. Eight minutes. A full ten minutes. I worry so much. Thirteen minutes. Fifteen minutes. Seventeen minutes. Twenty minutes! This is taking to long. I think I need to- "Derpy! DERPY! Dinky, Sparkler, someone, open up!" I hear. I push the door open, and the Doctor jumps in, closing the door behind him. "Doctor!" I cry. I jump into him and kiss him. At first it's soft, but then I kiss him hard. I have waited for this moment for a while. He kisses me back, with desperation, and I know that he loves me. I pull back and hug him. Tears starting to fall down my cheeks. "Derpy hooves," He says. I can hear that he's smiling, in his voice. "I love you more than anything. I think our little marriage that we had in the small chapel meant something. Now, let's go kick some bloody Daleks!" He says. I smile. Then, I trot to the control panel, and press a few different buttons. "Everybody hold on tight!" The Doctor says. Dinky and Sparkler hold each other to keep stable. The TARDIS shakes and groans. I laugh. I've missed this so much. I can feel us flying up into the air. I can't wait to fight these Daleks and hurt more of them once again. Then we stop. There isn't the usual slam, like when we hit the ground, but there's a small jerk, because we are up in space. I look out from one of the windows, and see the Daleks space ship. I also see Daleks coming up into it. Great. "Now, we just have to kill the head Dalek and let them float off somewhere into space," The Doctor says. Dinky smiles excitingly, Sparkler starts dancing around, and I kiss the Doctor again. Mostly to thank him for saving me from a life of guilt. For saving me from a normal life. And for being my friend. For being my companion. The Doctor's crewI smile as I wake to kisses on my neck. I open my eyes to find a brown colt filling the space where he should be. "I love you, Derpy," He says. I kiss him on the lips. "I love you, Doctor," I say to him. Sparkler runs in with Dinky. Both have the brightest smiles on there faces. "So? Where are we going today, Doctor?" Sparkler asks. The Doctor smiles. Author's Note Hey, everypony! Thank you for reading this story! Please give me awesome feed back. I really liked writing this story... Thx! Love you guys!

"How so?
