Buffy the Vampire Slayer in Equestriaby Night Flight 17ChaptersWelcome to the PonymouthPrincess' s PetI pony.....you batWelcome to the Ponymouth"Buffy, what do we do now?" were the last words Buffy Summers heard before opening her eyes and finding herself lying in a strange room.Well, it wasn't that strange. It was actually a very normal looking library, very much like the one she used to spend so much time in in high school. The strange thing about this one was what appeared to be a purple pony standing right in front of her. "Oh, hello there. My name is Twilight Sparkle. I'm the Princess of Friendship. You are Buffy Summers from Sunnydale, California. Well, at least you were from Sunnydale, from the looks of things Sunnydale just imploded off the face of the map. You must be hungry...Spike make Buffy some stew!" the Pony called over her shoulder seemingly to nowhere "...we have so much to talk about. We really need your help here in Ponyville. I never thought this would actually work but here we are...ha ha ha funny. Sometimes I even surprise myself..." "Well I averted another Apocalypse to some how be transported into a little girl's magical pony land. What a great day! And wow I'm already friends with a princess what luck." were the only words Buffy felt were fitting this situation. "Ah, yes the sarcasm. You don't have to impress me Miss Summers I know you are quite talented in the area and as much as I would love spending the afternoon trading witty remarks, we here in Ponyville....and actually all of Equestria need your help. You see we are having a bit of the vampony problem." "For the Princess of Friendship you seem a bit stale and...bookish." Buffy said getting to her feet. "but I only deal with the human un-dead and that's a handful in itself. Ponies rising from the grave is not my problem." "But...Miss Summers...." " Please, call me Buffy and I'm sorry, but if you know that Sunnydale just imploded then you must realize that I have bigger problems than what ever is going on here." Buffy replied as she started studying the titles of books in this so called Twilight Sparkle's collection. So far she saw nothing on demonology or vampires or anything of the nature. The only thing close was some hand written journal entitled "Flutterbat". It reminded Buffy of the journals Giles used to keep on her, back when he was her watcher. Buffy was beginning to wonder how she had even gotten here. Maybe she was dreaming. The stress of the collapse of her city, and the lost of Spike had caused her to go into another mini-coma. "Wait. Didn't Twilight say something about Spike? Something about Spike making stew? Did this crazed royal, purple nightmare bring him here too? Was she enslaving him to be her personal cook? That wouldn't make any sense.Spike didn't eat food.He drank blood. He was a vampire, unless he wasn't." Buffy thought. In fact, there might be a lot more to this than Buffy had first thought. "Buffy, you see in the past few months a number of so called vamponys have been roaming the streets of our fair land. It all started here in Ponyville too. I never actually thought they really existed. You know I don't think anyone really did, you know we just thought they were some old ponies tales, but then...the bodies...every few mornings or so there'd be a new death on our hands. The only thing the deaths had in common were the same pair of bite marks. I didn't see the first couple of ones myself being away on official Canterlot business, but I came home as soon as I could, and...." "Spike...." Buffy murmured. She was barely listening to Twilight's ramble as she was consumed by her own thoughts. "Oh...of course....yes food...I'll go check on that stew Spike is making...be back in...." "No..." Buffy cut off Twilight "I need to see Spike. I'm coming with you.." "Uh....ok..." Twilight turned slowly and opened a door leading to a cold, crystallized hallway, but before Buffy could edge in another word, or even admire her reflection in sparkling hallways, a lighting of pink hit Buffy knocking here off her feet. It was quite a feat considering it took a lot to knock Buffy Summers down. " HHHHHEEEELLLLLOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm Pinkie Pie. I'm your friend and your mine. We are the best of best, best friends. We have so much in common...like...like...um don't worry I'll think of something. Oh I bet you love parties!!!! That's why tonight I'm throwing you a Welcome to Ponyville Buffy Summers, the Slayer of Vampire and Friend of Pinkie Pie Party!!!!" Suddenly a bunch of balloons and glitter, and confetti started falling all around Buffy. IT all seemed to becoming from....somewhere. Was this pink beast of burden some type of annoying, yet powerful witch? She seemed more like Willow's think positive type anyways. "Pinkie Pie! Don't crowd poor Buffy. She has had a rough day and all loosing her home and then being transported from her book..." "What?...a book? What book?" Buffy said, once again cutting Twilight off in mid sentence. "Why yes...I have your whole book series. Starting with you burning down your school gym to you imploding your city. I've read about your many tragic battles, and even more tragic love life! Oh what you and Angel had was so special....I was just devastated when...." "And you're comic books!" Pinkie started in. "how after you destroyed Sunnydale, all the magic in the world..." "Pinkie Pie there are no Buffy comics!" It was Twilight's turn to interrupt " I brought you, Buffy, here out of your very last novel with a very powerful spell. One that allows you to exists out of your own story and in our world. I didn't think it would actually work, but I'm so glad it did. We were running out of options. The fate of Equestria is in your hands, Buffy. You are the only one with knowledge about such creatures. I mean we have the old pony tales of course, but from where you come from these creatures actually strive. You aren't only an expert on them but also an expert at fighting them. " Twilight seemed very moved by her own speech. Now Buffy knew what it must feel like to listen to one of her on tiresome speeches. "What are you talking about Twi? You did this spell two summers ago. You brought Buffy here along with a slew of other book characters. True, things were a little less dire back then, but you can always keep on smiling. We all had so fun, but of course like usual everyone else just forgot when the spell wore and everyone had to go back to there stories."Pinkie sighed and hung her head in shame as she finished retelling events only she seemed to know about. "Oh Pinkie Pie!" Twilight rolled her eyes. Pinkie was a good friend but also a handful sometimes. "Come on Buffy...let us go see Spike." "Finally!" Buffy thought. "I am going to get to the bottom of all this. It couldn't be that bad after all Buffy had face only a zillion apocalypses." Princess' s PetBuffy felt her heart sink when instead of a brooding, British vampire, she found a small purple lizard in a disgusting, yet charming country kitchen. The next few minutes blurred around Buffy as she realized how much she missed Spike. The real Spike. Her Spike. It was all just hitting her. What had actually just happened. She had lost everything. Spike had sacrificed himself to save the world. Well, a world. According to Anya there were hundreds of dimensions out there. That's when Buffy started to panic for a quick moment. "What if I'm Dead?" she thought. "and if so is this heaven?..... Or hell?" Buffy began to panic a little more. She had been dead twice already, but she didn't really remember much from either time. "So darling, tell me.... I'm not a big fan of black on black, but you do pull it off well, what is your secret?" Buffy turned and shrugged her shoulders at the white unicorn sitting beside her. Buffy knew Anya had known a lot about other dimensions but she had never mentioned one where there were magical talking ponies. Maybe she didn't know about this one, or maybe she had been terrified by it, maybe there were some hideous, cute, talking bunnies around. "Rarity, as fashionable a Buffy is, she is not here to help us with our wardrobes. She is here to help us with our vamponys. Now, Princess Luna is on here way here. She has been gathering info on and fighting the vamponys as best she can, but so far we haven't come up with much. There are no leads as to what caused the outbreak. We've tried to track down where the pony-tales started, but no such luck there either. Luna has even been searching dreams to try to find out anything she can. All we know is that there pretty easy to kill. No magic needed, just a stake through the heart . It just seems most ponys are too afraid to even try to kill these things and I do imagine it would be hard to stake a former love one." Twilight had the four other ponys and little dragon sitting at the table, hanging on her every word. Buffy was amused and a little impressed. This must be what it would be like sitting at on one of her own "Scoobie" meetings. "Oh steak!!!! I love steak!!!! Especially the little cute steak...you know from France! I don't see how it's that easy to stab it through somepony's heart. It would get all smooshes and gooshes before it even got to the heart! Maybe they really need just need steak in the mouth. I know if I was a vampony I would feel tons better if I had steak in my mouth! the excited pink pony replied. Buffy smiled. That was Pinkie Pie. As annoying as Pinkie Pie was she liked her. The pony really did remind her of Willow. The were both adorable and up beat even, if Willow was a little more serious than this pink counterpart. "Not that kind of steak, Pinkie. A wooden stake. You know, it's like pointy on the end like a pencil! You leave it to me Twilight I'll kill all those Vamponys myself! I'm not afraid of a couple of dead ponys with some dragon fangs in there mouth! They really need to be afraid of me!" declared a blue Pegasus as she flew up into the sky and hovered there. That was Rainbow Dash. She was not Buffy's biggest fan. Buffy couldn't blame her. Rainbow was the independent type. She wanted to take on the problem and get it done herself without the fuss of strangers. A good quality for one to have. "What I think Twilight is trying to say here ,Dash, is this here is bigger than one pony. That's why she called in Miss Summers here. So that we can all work together all nice like, and find out why the vamponys are here in the first place." the orange pony remarked. Apple Jack. Buffy really didn't relate to AJ much. She seemed kind of plain, no flying, no surprises,no crazy magic. She had a good head on her shoulders though. Maybe she was the Xander type of the group. "Oh why ever they're here they really need to do something with there manes. That's the real problem here. It's just dreadful. Please, if I ever become one of them please just don't let me wear my mane like that!" gasped the white unicorn. Buffy rolled her eyes. Rarity...a total Cordelia. Apparently, there was usually one more member in this little gang. A shy, little, yellow pegasus that loved animals. She couldn't make it tonight because she was busy hiding under her covers, or something. Buffy leaned back the big stone chair as the group continued to chatter and the little Spike dragon kept dishing out stew. They were sitting around a big table with a map on it. Above their heads, roots, from what apparently used to be the public library, hung. Little jewels glittered in the candle light as they swung from the roots. It was quite an elegant sight for Buffy. Apparently, this was Twilight's throne room or something. It was a very comfortable temperature not too hot, with a cool breeze from the outside every now then. For once Buffy felt like she could actually relax. For once it was nice not to be totally in the spotlight, or in charge of everything. She could let this Twilight handle things at least until they remembered she was in the room. There was suddenly a knock at the door. Everypony stopped talking and stared. "I'll get it! I'll get it!"Pinkie Pie shouted as she bounced to the door. "Just remember Pinkie if it's a vampony just closed the door. They can't come in if you don't invite them in." Twilight warned. A few seconds later Pinkie came bouncing back to the group babbling something about Vamponys. Behind her, from the shadows emerged the most beautiful thing Buffy had ever seen. She felt the little girl awe rise from with in her as the elegant, mysterious, Princess Luna came glowing into the room. She was much taller than the other ponys. She had a flowing mane that glimmered with star dust. Her coat was a deep, mysterious, midnight blue. "So is this the all knowing librarian with the deep knowledge of the ancient magics?" the elegant pony asked as she looked at Buffy. "Librarian? No, I'm the slayer."Buffy replied. "Slayer? You are a creature of the night then? Battling against the dark forces. You and you alone." Luna seemed to look deep into Buffy's soul as she said that. "You know about the slayer, Princess Luna?" Twilight asked. "Yes, once long ago Equestria had it's very own slayer. I imagine that most worlds have something of the sort. The last slayer of Equestria's was in fact my...last friend. I would work along side her night, after night. She would defeat countless vamponys keeping the sleeping ponies of the day safe, as I visited their dreams making sure no demons had crept into there sleep. Then one day the vamponys stop coming. There were of no demons to speak. The night was a safe place. It was all thanks to the slayer. Any evil was warded off by fear of being destoryed by her might. As the nights grew more peaceful, the slayer grew more restless. She felt useless and incomplete. One day she just...vanished. I looked for her in all the crevices the night, but she was no where to be found. It was soon after that I, myself grew restless. The ponys we worked so hard to protect did not appreciate us. They only slept through my beautiful night." Luna told."I did not know you were bringing a slayer here. I thought you were bringing in a librarian." "Well, you see Princess, Twilight here wanted to use her spell to bring in a librarian, but, us here thought if she could bring in somepony...someone...to help actually help us fight the vamponys, it would do a bit more finely." replied AppleJack. "I see."said Luna. "If you don't mind me asking, who was this all-knowing librarian?"Buffy asked. "Oh you know, Buffy." Twilight giggled "It's Mr. Giles. He was your school librarian, then he own his on magic shop. And his British!" Twilight had a crazy dreamy look in her eyes, and Luna saw that perhaps bringing the slayer here was a better choice. Otherwise, Twilight would be crushing too hard to be any good. "What is your name, slayer?" asked Luna "It's Buffy.....Buffy Summers." replied Buffy. "Well, Miss Summers, are you ready to help us defeat the creatures of the night?" asked Luna. "You know I thought you'd never ask."smirked Buffy. "Miss Summers there is one matter that needs to be addressed before we start. I need to disguise you as a pony. It might cause even more alarm if someone saw a human running around Equestria." said Luna. Buffy laughed on the inside. It could of been worse. It had been worse. Man, Buffy hoped she was dead. I pony.....you batBeing a pony wasn't a weird as you might think. In fact it, was kind of awesome. Buffy felt confident with her long beautiful blonde mane and she felt her powers trickling in her veins. She thought maybe she could even be more powerful in this form as she realized she even had one of the little butt tattoos the ponys called "cutie marks". It did take some getting use to tough, using your mouth as a hand and running on all fours. You had to kinda come at the Vamponies from the side to get to the heart, but it was awesome. Killing darkness. The "mane six" as they were called, well "mane five" were way better at it too, than Buffy had first thought the would be. Somehow, Pinkie Pie could get her vamponys to dust into piles of glitter. Twilight Sparkle had done her research well and had a stock pile of stakes and crossbows and other useful things. Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash had plenty of action to back up their talk, and were in a contest to see who could dust more vamponys than the other. Rarity...well she did leave a little to be desired. She thought the whole ordeal was a little to "icky" and spent more time trying to get the living dead to fix their manes. Luna was the most awesome of all. She knew a spell that could make little balls of sunlight, actual sunlight that would cause the vamponys to burst into flames. It was a little something she said she picked up from her sister. Buffy felt so close to her too, like she knew her from somewhere. No it was deeper than that. Buffy felt like they were sisters. Once all the dust had cleared from the small meadow they were fighting in Buffy was quite pleased. "So, what do you think? We've been burning our bodies, so there haven't been too many in town, or lurking in the graveyard. They keep coming out from the outskirts of town, and from the Everfree forest." Twilight said coming up from behind Buffy. She almost got a stake through her for startling Buffy. "Hmmm...back in my world we've had vampire problems for a long time. They're always coming from everywhere. There an endless stream. I find it strange that there have never been a single...vampony here for thousands of years. Is there someone....somepony that would want to resurrect them for some reason? Twilight Sparkle, do you have some kind of enemy who would wish this stuff upon you? Revenge of some kind?" Buffy asked. "There have been many who have attacked Equestria. I don't know who would have done this though." commented Twilight. "Where do most of these Vamponys come from. Maybe we can track down the source. Get some answers." Buffy Said. "We need to go deep into the Everfree forest. Deeper than we've ever been before. That's where most of them having been coming from. Maybe there is some portal or something out there." Replied Twilight. " I will guide us through night, with my burning light." Luna said joing the conversation. "Glitter! Glitter!" Pinkie Pie brushed passed them "who knew vampony guts were so pretty!!!" As Buffy and the others made there way to the forest. There was a little purple dragon sitting at home feeling slighted that he was missing another adventure. That is until he heard a certain pony's little sister give a little sneeze from the closet. "You see Spike, that's why we had to come. What if this here is our best chance of getting our cutie marks? My big sister she thinks I'm still too little to do a dang thing, but I'm not. I'm not afraid of no vampony. What if it is my special talent to to kill them and save all of Equestria?"Applebloom told Spike. "Yeah I think I'll be a great, butt kicker. That's why I was game when Applebloom wanted to sneak out, and why I dragged Sweetie Belle along." added Scoot-ta-loo. "Yeah" was all the frighten Sweetie Belle could add. Spike didn't need all this convincing. He was ready to show Twilight he wasn't a baby anymore either. "I know where they went! I can take you all there. I know where Twilight keeps the stakes too! I'll get us some!" the eager dragon replied. "No Spike. Y'all don't understand! We can't let the others see us. We have to go some place more dangerous than they did." Applebloom said."We need to go somewhere crawling with vamponys!" Spike was suddenly getting nervous. The eagerness that was rushing over him was suddenly gone. "I know! Let's go to Fluttershy's cottage. She can help us out. She's not with the others." suggested Spike "Ahhh, Fluttershy is such a scaried pony. No way she'd help us out!" Scoot-ta-loo complained. "I think it's a good idea....I mean......um Fluttershy lives pretty far out of town anyways....we're bound to run in to a few vamponys on our way." replied Sweetie Belle. "Good thinking Sweetie Belle!"glowed Scoot-ta-loo Scoot-ta-loo was a bit disappointed though as the four walked the twist and turns of the darken Ponnyville streets, with stakes ready, but no vampire sightings. She was even more disappointed when the lights were off at Fluttershy's cottage. Once again she had let Applebloom talk her into something stupid. She should of just stayed in bed catching some sweet s. "Aw man, we came all the way out here for nothing! Fluttershy is not even here!" cried Scoot-ta-loo fed up with the situation. "Um....Scoot...if she's not here...then why is the door standing wide open?" the stiff Sweetie Belle whimpered. The three ponys and their dragon friend made their way slowly up Fluttershy's stairs and through the opened door. Their little, young eyes widened a they stepped inside. Things had been tossed and thrown and broken everywhere. It was painful to look at. The moonlight streaming in made it look even worse as it cast long shadows from the jagged edges of broken plates and the ripped cushions from the couch. Worst of all there wasn't an animal in sight. The four confused and dazed shuffled around in the dark tripping over themselves, and things trying to find some type of light and some sign of comfort. "Fluttershy! Fluttershy!" Applebloom called. Silence. Sweetie Belles's horn lit up with a soft glow. She had suddenly remembered a spell that Rarity had taught her to work on sewing in the dark. She crept over a few feet from the others to pick up a broom that was lying on the floor. She started to sweep. She didn't want Fluttershy to be so upset when she found out someone had broken into her cottage and ruined all her things. It would be easier on her if Sweetie helped clean up some of the mess. "Sweetie! What are you doing!?! This is no time to clean up! Something has happened to Fluttershy!" Shouted Scoot-ta-loo Scoot grabbed the broom from Sweetie's hooves and tossed into the closet under the stairs. It hit something with a loud thud and then there was a chilling hiss. The fillies, and Spike froze. The turned there heads toward the closet just in time to see a pair of cold green, lifeless eyes glare at the from the empty darkness. The gang shuttered in unison. Fluttershy might not have been home, but Flutterbat had just been disturbed from a peaceful nap. A sudden screech filled the air along with a sweeping breeze as Flutterbat spread her wings and flew out over the house guests and through open door in the direction of the Everfree forest. "What?? What just happened?" whispered Scoot. "I don't know y'all but I'm thinkin it's a good time for a group hug." cried Applebloom. The three girls embraced each other quickly, thanking the higher enities that they didn't just become bat food. "Ugh, girls? I think we have bigger problems than hugging right now." Spike whispered. He was right. Right behind the three fillies were another pair of green eyes. This time they belonged to a big, grey vampony. He opened his mouth revealing too large fangs. "Would you be interested in buying a vacuum cleaner on this....fine night?" he snickered.
