Ash is a stallion. He rides the desk, working for the intelligence arm of the Royal Guard–which many would consider a very important job–but despite everything he does he feels unfulfilled.

Mirage is a mare. She explores the field, is one of many eyes for REINS, and is exceptional at what she does, but she must live a life of stealth and lies to be who she must be.

Yet, what everyone doesn't know, is that the two ponies–stallion and mare both–are the same.

When the griffins send over representatives of the crown for the first time in centuries, Equestria enters a state of distress. It is evident that something is very deeply wrong, and it is up to our two heroes to find out.
