Pinkie is happy with her life. She enjoys working at Sugarcube Corner, throwing parties, and making other ponies happy. But every so often, she thinks about what she left behind to make it. Sure, she may write and visit them, but she can't help but imagine the dull grey skies, the expressionless faces, and all those rocks.
