Chapters Ertenots was not born a vampire, he was just a normal pony who panicked when Discord came and took over Equestria and when you panic you make mistakes. Ertenots mistake was to hide in the everfree forest.
"Just breath that thing is busy having fun, he wont know there is one pony less."
Ertenots felt a little guilty for running away. But Discord was a god, what could Ertenots do against him? No it was safer to run away and hide. Suddenly something moved behind Ertenots, but he was to busy thinking about what to do to notice.
"Maybe I can sail away, but then I would need a boat. Or I could fly away, how would I fly? I'm an earth pony. Or...... "
That was when he heard something.
"What was..."
Then all went black. When Ertenots awoke it was night and his head hurt.
"What happened?"
Ertenots stood up and felt surprisingly good except for the headache and a very bad thirst. Ertenots made his way to a nearby lake and bent down to drink but he stopped and stared when he saw his reflection. His mane and tail had turn white, his eyes were purple. He gasped and saw he had fangs instead of normal pony teeth. Ertenots backed away from the lake, what had he become? Ertenots closed his eyes and tried to think of a solution to his problem.
" Maybe this is a dream and I will just wake up and all will be normal. Yes that's it, just a silly dream."
Than he smelled something rotten and saw a timberwolf coming at him.
"It's just a dream, he can't hurt me."
The wolf came closer and bared its fangs.
"This is a very real dream... wait, what if this is real?"
That's when the wolf attacked. Ertenots dodge his fangs but was scratch by the wolfs claws and it hurt.
"Okay, not a dream"
Ertenots ran away but the timberwolf followed.
"This is bad, this is bad. I wish I was a pegasus than I could just fly away and..."
But as Ertenots thought this he began to take off the ground and than flew over the trees Ertenots stopped running and he also stopped going forward and just hovered in the air. Ertenots looked at his back. No wings there flapping. He tried to walk again and he moved forward like he was walking on the ground, no not walking swimming. Ertenots smiled being able to fly could come in handy, then the smile faded.
"How do I get down?"
He hadn't ended that thought when he fell out off the sky. Ertenots landed hard. Everything hurt, his legs would not move, his chest felt like it was on fire and he could not breath.
"So this is how I die?"
Ertenots thought, but than something happend. He heard a snap and he could move his legs. His chest pain stopped and he could breath again. Ertenots got up and looked at himself, he didn't have a scratch on him.
"Wait scratch."
He looked at were the timberwolf had got him earlier and didn't see anything, no wound or a scratch. Ertenots looked at his hooves.
"I can heal and fly, and this isn't a dream."
Ertenots laughed like a maniac for a moment but than he felt so thirsty and dry in the throat that he had to stop.
"I have to drink something, anything."
Then he saw a fox drinking from a river. The next few moments were a blur but when Ertenots came to his senses he felt good, not thirsty any more and much stronger.
"That must have been some river water."
Ertenots licked his lips.
"Even if it is a little thick."
Ertenots stopped and looked behind him at the river than he looked away.
"Oh sweet Equestria what have I done."
He looked in horror at his hooves and felt sick.
" That poor fox was just drinking and I..." Then he realized something. " I drank its... oh no...I'm a vampire."
That was when he panicked again and began running.
" Oh no I'm a monster. I'm worse than Discord."
Than he stopped running.
"Wait Discord. Maybe he can change me back."
Ertenots made his way out of the forest and tried to think of a way to make Discord help him.
" Maybe if I ask real nicely he will... No he would just laugh, or say no. Or maybe I could promise to serve him forever if he helps me? Yeah because the god of chaos who can get any thing he wishes for with a snap of a finger needs servants so badly. Or maybe this is his doing."
Ertenots stopped walking
"Of course, why didn't I see it before. Discord thinks making ponies suffer is fun and what better way to make someone whose a coward suffer, than to turn him into a monster? He's probably laughing his head off right now."
Ertenots got angrier the more he thought of Discord laughing.
"But the jokes on him. I'm going to find him, then I'm going to fores him to change me back, or at least into something not as dangerous."
Than the sun started coming up.
"Finally the sun now I can see where I'm....Wait the sun. Doesn't sunlight kill vampires? Oh noooooo "
Ertenots yelled the last part as he ran away from the sun and it's light and tried to keep up with the fading shadow's.
" Got to find shelter, somewhere dark to hid. Oh why cant the night last forever?"
Ertenots tripped and was bathed in the sunlight.
"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo."
Ertenots screamed and closed his eyes. He waited for his skin to burn but nothing happened. Ertenots opened his eyes and looked at himself. He wasn't burning. He smiled and thanked the stars he was okay. Than his smile faded.
"Discord I'm going to hurt you."

first chapter done hope it turned out all right
"Okay the this isn't funny Discord, so quit hiding and show your self."
Ertenots had been looking for Discord for hours. But all he found was chaos. Birds flew backwards, the ground turned into sandpits and then it started to snow.
"Why can't he just show up and say, hello Ertenots I'm tired of tormenting you. Lets change you back to your normal self."
Ertenots sighed.
"That is never going to happen. So I better find him. Who knows maybe he's in a good mood."
Ertenots hoped off the ground.
"Lets fly."
But he could barely stay airborne and it was harder to move forward.
Ertenots landed on his hooves and looked up.
"Why is this so hard. It was easier last night."
Ertenots stopped.
"Could it be that my powers don't work well during the day? well at least I look normal"
Than he suddenly heard a twisted laugh he had only heard before he ran away into the Everfree forest.
"Discord."
Ertenots ran towards the laugh but stopped dead when he saw Discord and two.....
"Oh no."
Ertenots ducked behind a nearby house.
"Princess Celestia and Luna why are they here... and why are they in a magic bubble?"
Ertenots heard Discord laugh.
" You should see your self's right now. The expressions on your face. So intense, so sure of your self's."
Discord said and laughed harder, while the princesses put there horns together. Then a rainbow shoot out and headed for Discord.
"hilarious ha ha ha haaa....."
The rainbow hit Discord and turned him to stone. Then there was a rainbow colored explosion that passed right through Ertenots but change everything else to normal. Ertenots looked around.
"This is so not fair."
Than he heard Celestia and Luna talking.
"What do we do with Discord now sister?"
"I don't know Luna but we'll find a place for him somewhere. It's to bad he would not be our friend he could have done great things with his magic."
"Can we be sure all is as it should be again?"
Luna asked and looked around.
"The Elements of harmony can undo all magic. The one thing they can't do is raise the dead. we are lucky Discord doesn't kill."
Ertenots slipped away and ducked into the nearest house. And closed the doors.
"So I'm not under a spell. I'm just undead."
Ertenots sunk to the floor.
"What now? the princesses elements can't help me, Discord is to stoned to help me."
Ertenots looked at the sunlight coming through a small window on the house as the sun set.
" I have to get out of here. now that Discord is gone the owners of this house might come back home."
" No one lives here anymore."
Ertenots stopped dead in his tracks and turned to see a pony with a mask, in a hooded blue robe standing in the middle of the house.
"Oh sorry just hiding form Discord didn't know this house was full..."
Ertenots said and tried to open the doors.
"I know what you are and I have an offer for you vampire"
Ertenots was startled.
"A vampire, where?"
Ertenots looked around.
"I don't see any vampires here. You should get you eye sight checked."
Ertenots got the door open and quickly and jumped out, slamming the doors behind him. Than he ran and he didn't stop running until he was miles away and the moon was high in the sky.
"Okay that is one pony I hop I never see again."
"You really should hear me out."
If Ertenots had been still a live, he would have died from the shock of hearing that voice coming from behind him. He turned and looked at the pony standing behind him. Who was that?
"I'm somepony who could give your live meaning."
Ertenots backed away. He couldn't tell if it was a female or male pony and why was the strange pony following him?. Ertenots Turned and was about to run away again. When the pony said.
"You know you can't die right? So you have two options. Run away and walk this earth aimlessly forever or work with me. Together we can put your powers to good use. What do you say?"
Ertenots looked back to the pony and thought for a moment, then he smiled nervously.
"Well if I'm going to live forever might just as well have company for awhile."
"Wise choose, here."
The pony pulled out a red cape from under it's rope and a pair of glasses. than magically threw them to Ertenots. Who looked at them and than looked at the pony puzzled.
"The cape will let you use your powers no problem during the day and the glasses will magically hide the purple in your eyes."
Ertenots dried to but the cape on but was having trouble doing it.
"You do have Telekinesis you know"
Ertenots looked up puzzled.
"You can move things with your mind, here just let me."
Then the cape fixed it self on him and the glasses settled on his nose.
" Come. We should practice your Telekinesis control so you don't blow something up with your mind when you sneeze."
Ertenots and the pony walked off together. Ertenots felt uneasy but following this pony seemed wise at least for now.
Ertenots and the mysterious pony practiced in secret in a cave far from any ponies. For Ertenots the practice was difficult but fun. First he learned to lift things with telekinesis.
"This is easy vamp, just focus on..... that stone and bring it to you"
Ertenots looked at the stone and tried to lift it. It didn't move at all. Ertenots focused harder and thought of the stone moving to him. The stone moved a bit closer but didn't lift form the ground.
"Your overthinking it, just move it like your moving a hoof to pick it up."
Ertenots stooped focusing and took a deep breath.
"Up."
And the stone wen't up.
"To me."
And the stone came like a bird to its trainer.
"Good, now lets try two stones."
And after two came three, and so on until Ertenots could command twenty rocks to forma a spinning spiral in mid air.
"Now your ready for moving targets."
"Moving?"
The pony took Ertenots out side the cave and pointed a hove at a mountain nearby.
"I'm going to start an avalanche and your going to try to stop it. But first."
The pony looked at Ertenots and tilted it's head.
"When was the last time you fed?"
"uh... I had a carrot three days ago."
"I mean after you became vampire. You couldn't have lasted this long without drinking someones blood"
The pony stopped talking and looked down.
"I just hope it wasn't a pony. Or at least that it wasn't a good pony."
Ertenots looked down and turned away.
"It was a fox."
"Okay good. You can go unnoticed longer if you don't attack ponies and how long ago was it?"
"It was....the night before yesterday."
"But you have to feed at least ones a week. At least for the first five hundred years. If you don't you will kill anything you come a cross that has a heart beat."
"But..,when I... you know feed .... innocents.... you know.....go belly up."
"Then just feed on big predators. Wolfs, bears, manticores. Or you will hurt innocent ponies. Do you want that?"
"No but..."
"There is no but. Its animals or ponies. If I were you I'd stick to animals. Now go feed. We'll practice more tomorrow night."
And with that the pony went back into the cave.
"Well than. Time to find some big animal to drink from. But isn't that dangerous?"
Few hours later.
"Okay next time no manticore." Ertenots thought as he flew to the cave entrance. "If I didn't heal he would have eaten me!"
Then he saw the mysterious pony staring at images of two ponies, a insect like pony and a pony with horns. The images were in a line with the insect first then the three ponies. The mysterious pony summoned another image this time of Ertenots. and said.
" One down four left."
Ertenots flew silently to the cave and sat down inside.
" It would appear I either keep an close eye on that one or leave."
Ertenots thought for a moment.
"Well running a way got me into this, maybe I should stay awhile and learn a few new tricks. Then if the pony tries something funny."
Ertenots smashed two rocks together breaking them.
"Than maybe I will be able to get some answers about said pony. I mean who is this pony that knows so much about vampires? And who are those four others it wants?"
Ertenots yawn and realize he hadn't slept in days.
" Do I even have to sleep?"
Ertenots laid down on some mosh on the cave floor and half closed his eyes.
"Can't hurt to try."
instantly he fell a sleep.
He was still sleeping when the mysterious pony came back.
The pony walked into the cave and saw Ertenots lying on his back his mouth open and his eyes half closed. The ponies eyes wen't wide and it ran over to him and tried to take his pulse. The pony could not find any.
"Oh sweet Celestia he's dead..... I've failed....... Wait maybe it's not to late to save him."
The pony pulled out a old book from it's cloak and flipped through the pages.
" Oh its here somewhere. aha CPR."
The pony tried to push Ertenots chest and than checked for heartbeat. Nothing. The pony grabbed his lower jaw and was about to open it when Ertenots woke and sat up.
"What are you doing?"
The pony stared at him.
"I... you ... I thought you had died. You were so still and I couldn't find a pulse and....wait were you pretending to be dead?"
The pony looked angry.
"No I was sleeping."
"Vampires can sleep?"
" Apparently."
Then Ertenots saw the old book lying open on the floor.
" What's CPR?"
The pony snatch up the book and put it into it's cloak.
"Old magic. Not important."
The pony looked Ertenots in the eye.
"Okay vampire.... "
" Ertenots."
"What?"
"That's my name and your name is?"
The pony thought for a moment, then shrugged its shoulders.
"My name's Hope."
"So you are female."
Hope looked away and said.
"Yes. Lets just put what happened behind us. But don't do that again with out telling me. I thought you were dead!"
Ertenots raised an eyebrow.
"Deader. Lets just get some rest."
They both settled on the cave floor. A few moments later Hoped asked.
" Ertenots?"
" Yes."
" Do vampires dream?"
" Well... I didn't. But lets see what happens."
Then they both drifted to sleep.
Ertenots woke up and didn't know where he was. Then he remembered and sat up. Ertenots looked around and found that Hope was gone but had left a note and her mask.
"Dear Ertenots. Went to check something. will be back by nightfall. "
Ertenots looked out the cave entrance. The sun was high up. Ertenots sat down on his mosh and smiled.
"Well nothing to do but wait."
That was when he heard voices.
Ertenots rushed to out the cave and looked around and there hidden from the caves view by trees, was a family of ponies heading for the cave.
"Oh this isn't good."
Ertenots swallowed.
"Okay I have three options. First I can run and hide until dark, but what if they want to camp in the cave? Okay not number one. Second I could wait until there in the cave then come in and eat them, wait what am I thinking? I cant eat innocent ponies, can I? No."
Ertenots shook his head.
"I have to stop arguing with myself. Okay let's just go with number three, I just...."
"Hey there."
Ertenots looked down, the ponies had seen him.
"Hi"
Ertenots hoped Hope would get back soon.
Meanwhile Hope was looking for news in town.
" So far so good. The dragon ponies ancestors are okay. the changeling wont be made until a few years from now. Now I just have to keep the vampire...Ertenots out of trouble until the times right."
Hope stopped and pulled her hood further over her face.
"Did you hear about the Serif family going to explore that cave in the forest?"
Hope froze and listened.
"yeah lets hope they don't run into trouble who knows what dwells in the forest."
Hope turned around and ran towards the forest.
"Should I be more worried about them finding Ertenots or about Ertenots finding them? I hope he fed last night."
"Hello mate. My names Otto Serif, and this is my wife Honey."
"Nice to meet you."
"And our daughter Fate."
Ertenots stepped back and looked the Serifs over Otto and Honey were earth ponies like him but Fate was a unicorn.
" Hi I'm Ertenots and.... what are you doing here?"
"Oh just exploring looking for a good place to settle."
"Trust me, this is far from a good place."
"Really?"
"Yes there are manticores, bears and other dangerous animals in this forest."
"Are there vampire here?"
Fate asked and looked excited.
"Or were ponies?"
"Fate honey I'm sure mister Ertenots hasn't seen anything like that."
"um no, not that I can remember, now I have to be going, t was nice to meet you all."
Ertenots made his way down from the cave and hide in the forest.
"So far so good now lets find Hope and get out of here before I find more...."
"Ertenots!"
Ertenots spun around and saw Hope running to him.
"We have to go. There is a family named Serif...."
"I know I met them."
"And you didn't eat theme right? please tell you feed last night."
Hope looked scared.
"Relax I feed last night and the Serifs are fine. there daughter is a little weird but.... "
"Okay good. Now lets go but first can I have my mask?"
" I don't have it."
"Okay then we will just have to go back to the cave and get it."
"Um the Serifs are in the cave."
Hopes face went white.
"This isn't good."
Ertenots and Hope made there way back to trees near the cave and saw that the Serifs had made camp in it for the night.
"Oh just great lets just hope they didn't find my mask."
"No such luck."
Ertenots said and pointed a hoof to were Fate was studying the ask just outside the cave.
"Oh sweet Celestia what do we do now?"
"We could get you a new mask."
Hope looked at Ertenots like he was insane.
"No we can not leave anything of mine behind when we go."
"Okay..but how?.....I have a plan."
"You do?"
"When I have the mask run."
"What are you..."
Ertenots looked to were Fate was focused on the mask and it flew to him like a scared bird.
"Now run."
And Ertenots and Hope ran leaving a puzzled and shocked Fate behind.
They didn't stop running until the were far from the cave.
"What were you thinking? If she suspects..."
"Suspects what that I did this? Any unicorn can use magic to do something like this and earth ponies can't so there is no way she can ever proof it was me if I ever meet her again."
"Fine just be careful, if any pony finds out your not a normal earth pony than your in trouble."
"Okay I'll be more careful. Now who are you?"
"what?"
"Is there a reason your training me? and why do you have this mask?"
Ertenots looked at her and waited.
"Its complicated."
"Then explain it as clearly as you can."
"Its a long story."
"I have plenty of time."
Hope shock her head and turned away from Ertenots.
"You don't understand."
"Your right."
Hope looked back at Ertenots who was looking at the stars.
"I don't understand any of this. A few days ago I was a normal pony and now I'm a vampire with supernatural power. And you just happened to find me and know how to train a vampire?Your right Hope I don't understand and that is why you have to explain your part in all this."
"I can't."
"Can't or won't?"
"Can't... at least not here but I can show you."
Hope toke out her book and opened it on a bookmarked Page.
"If I show you this there is no turning back."
"Turning back?"
Hope smiled and eyes glowed as she read the page.
"You'll see."
There was a big flash of light and then Hope and Ertenots were gone.
Five hundred years later a similar flash of light happened and Ertenots and Hope stepped out of it.
"Welcome to the future we have much work to do."
