Twilight's descent
Twilight's descent
Load Full StoryTwilight sighed heavily, half of it out of annoyance and sadness.
It seemed like she had no other choice but taking her special item down to the library's underground system.
No other ponies knew about the underground because it was so well hidden.
Twilight used her magic, her horn glowing a bright purple as she levitated the item into a small sack, placing it gently on her back.
She trotted gently across the room, and pushed one of the books that was sticking out gently with her hoof.
The entire bookcase slid sideways to reveal a dusty, dark room that smelled of rotting wood.
Twilight gagged a little and trudged into the room, closing the bookcase behind her, enveloping the room in the sweet embrace of the darkness.
She lit up her horn and trotted to the centre of the room.
This was it.
The place she hated and feared the most, but she had to do it, for her own sake.
She twitched lightly for a while, before using her magic to open a lock, and opened the hidden hatchet with a loud bang.
Dim light shone from beneath.
Twilight paused, staring down, and looking at the sack on her back, looking at both things before going down some old, abandoned steps.
She landed with a clop on the stone floors of a wide hallway, looking ahead of her.
A flash of fear and dread went across her eyes, before she pressed on. Lanterns filled with magical properties shone at each side of the hallway, never seeming to die out.
She stooped at a wooden door and slowly opened it, stepping into anot her hallway.
She sighed heavily.
This would take her all day if she didn't hurry up and get on with it.
So, she quickened her pace down the long hallway, going through several doors until she reached a hallway with two doors instead of one.
She reached forwards to yet again push open the door in front of her, only to find it was locked.
"DARN IT!"
She screamed in frustration, her voice bouncing and echoing off the cold walls, before she pounded her head in rage, twitched some more, and looked to her side at the second door.
She pushed this one open with ease, and peered inside.
There were several portraits of prominent figures in her life, the most important ponies to her that she could possibly imagine.
Her friends, the princesses and discord hung on the wall.
Celestia, Cadence, Luna, the other mane 5.
To Twilight, they looked menacing and foreboding, as if they were going to leap out and bite her at any moment.
Twilight trotted over to a rotting table, taking a marker pen with her magic, and she scribbled over a picture of herself angrily, black pen obstructing her portraits facial features.
She smashed the portraits, grabbing the picture of Discord and straight out throwing it across the room, screaming and laughing like a maniac.
Once she had calmed down, she trotted over to a hanging mirror and looked at herself.
She finally got to have a good look at herself.
A tiny shard had cut her cheek a little, but it was nothing but a minor scratch. Her mane was messy and uncombed, and her pupils seemed significantly smaller.
She simply smirked, before retaining her serious face yet again.
She gave a wide toothed smile at her reflection, making several stupid faces, before screaming.
"STOP STARING AT ME YOU FREAK!"
She smashed the mirror, making her way over to the table again.
She opened a small box and took out a rusted key with her magic, leavitating it in front of her face happily, before leaving the wrecked room and opening the next door.
The next hallway she entered had the elements of harmony scribbled down it in a red substance, and it appeared to have dripped down onto the floors and dried, and was now a dark brown.
The smell was now getting worse as she progressed, a guy wrenching smell of rot and blood.
She suddenly saw Applejack in front of her, looking helpless and terrified, screaming in terror as something was violently plunged into her.
Twilight simply smiled.
As she trotted she saw the rest of her friends, all being harmed in different ways.
Twiliht had to admit to herself, she had never been so scared of her friends.
Those murders had been such a shame though.
If only some pony could have stoped the violence, but that some pony was busy studying for one of Celestia's idiotic tests for weaklings.
She didn't want anymore of Celestia's nonsense and trickery.
She was a tyrant. All she wanted was power, but she had been so nice to Twilight and had helped her..that didn't matter now.
In fact, Celestia probably murdered them herself, the evil pony.
Twilight made her way down to the final door. This final room was nothing like the basement of the library. The underground was fierce. She was unsure if she would enter or not, but Twilight made her decision fairly quickly. He door was iron, and had a small keypad next to it. She used her magic to press the buttons, and the door clicked open, a cold draft coming out of it. She entered, trotting inside.
She gagged.
A scene of gore and violence lay in front of her. Meat hooks swung gently, with small tags saying where they would end up and how they would be cooked.
A singled out metal table lay in front of her, with a newspaper.
She held it in her hooves and looked at the front page, a maniacal expression on her face.
" 5 ponies mis sing, investigations commenced
Ponyville residents Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie have recently gone missing.
Twilight Sparkle, student in magic of Princess Celestia, is distressed and told reporters she wished she could have saved them. Princess Celestia has sent a troop of guards to investigate the cause of death and round up any suspects.
If you have any information about this case, please notify and nearby guards or Princess Celestia herself immediately.
If you are the murderer, the guards and Princess Celestia ask you to own up."
Twilight heard something from behind her, down the corridor, as she froze up, ready to spring.
She turned in shock as a bright light beamed in her face, nearly blinding her, as she tried to cover her eyes with her hoof.
"Miss Twilight Sparkle, you are under arrest. Please come out with your hooves above your head or we'll be forced to fire."
The sack Twilight had been carrying slid from her back, making a dull thump on the floor.
In a curled up position, a small, bloodied shape of a purple dragon slid out.
