Savior
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEdward had already sat down in his bed to enjoy the rest of the reheated lasagna dinner from yesterday. He looked out his window, right beside his personal desktop, to see the lit skyline of the city right outside the apartment. A bustling city, one of life, one of entertainment, one of endless possibilities, so many different people, activities, foods; one could say this city would be impossible to get bored of. But Edward was. He'd been living here for seventeen years and nothing ever really changed for him.
It made it no easier that he looked so much like a baby faced girl. He sounded the part and looked it. His short brown hair, long bangs nearly covering his eyes, which were larger than most other boys younger than his and a light sky blue. Even his lips were shaped a bit like a girl's, and it was hard for him to hide his blushes as he pursed them in frustration.
He'd loved to mention how he was in fact a bit sporty, but wasn't "man" enough to join teams in his high school. What sports did he like? Volleyball and track. That particular combination only made him more of a girl.
But, that was maybe one thing he loved about this city. The teens at his school may have not liked who he was, but he knew a lot of people that did:
Jessica Matthews, the kooky ukulele-playing sweet-loving girl from Floor 3, right above him in this apartment building. She and Edward had been friends since the seventh grade, during an intense one-on-one volleyball match between them. To be a girl with her peculiar chubby size, she really knew how to play a good game of volleyball. The only difference between her and Edward was that she actually joined a team. From middle to high school, she remained on the volleyball team. She was obsessed with keeping her weight in check, but never wanted to give up her sweet and succulent chocolates. It was a fun conflict which Edward loved to witness Jessica go through.
Hero, a guy who worked around the corner as a cashier at a submarine sandwich place. Edward met him a few summers back during the summer of his freshman year to apply for a job at the same place. Hero recommended him, and Hero trained him.
