One day in Equestria, there was a ball going on at Canterlot castle. And most ponies were either having fun conversing with one another. Or were dancing with a beautiful mare or stallion.
But one mare in particular was fine by herself. Fluttershy is a marquise, and held in high regard in social standards. But true to her name, she is very shay and reserved. She would rather stay in a corner and stay completely still as a statue, then talk to any of her friends.
“sugar cube, are you aright?” a southern accent asked the quiet mare. Fluttershy looked up to meet the eyes of the large Clydesdale mare. She was a brilliant orange color coat, with blond mane and tail. Even the three slash like scars across her muzzle were nothing to distract from her good looks.
“I-I’m fine.” Fluttershy lied to the burly mare. “now don’t you go lying to me now.” applejack said with her nicest voice. “just cause you were asked to be here, don’t mean you have to like it. We can go whenever you want.” she suggested.
“a-are you sure?” squeaked flutters. “course I am.” said applejack confidently. “But if’n your wanting to go, we can leave.” the thought of disappointing a lot of the important ponies here, was not something Fluttershy approved of. And so even thought she wanted to she had to decline. “No it’s best we stay till the end.” said Fluttershy disappointedly. Applejack noticed this, and just gave a small nod. “Alright sugercube, if you say so. But if anypony else gives you trouble, you just tell me.” AJ said with a hoof raised.
Smiling Fluttershy nodded and went back to the other delegates and guest. After the party, Fluttershy and applejack were on there way back to the mansion that they were staying in while at the town, of the party.
“Well that shindig could have gone better.” grumbled applejack. She was agitated that she couldn’t spend more time with Fluttershy.
“well at least it’s over.” Fluttershy said trying to lift AJ’s mood. But it didn’t work. Applejack just looked at her with a deadpan face. “Are you serious?… you were so uncomfortable. And some of them ponies were just being jerks to you.” she said trying to get Fluttershy to realize that maybe her destiny was being a piece of %*#@.
But Fluttershy just looked at her with a worried and frightened look, when applejack realized she had slightly yelled.
