Author's Note

Okay after sorting through my emotions after my mother's death I'm back and ready to write. And remember this is a alternate universe so events of canon are going to be switched around a bit besides I don't think the gala took place a week after the tickets were given but maybe a few months as we never did get the date of when the event starts. That's the thing about why the the events are switched around without actual dates to keep things straight from the first episode no one knows if it's been a week to a month between episodes. We already saw two winters pass by the series from winter wrap up to hearts warming eve so I know that the series does takes years into account. Even a third by the hibernation episode with tank. That means three years for the mlp cast had past and season 5 is currently in the fourth year since that fateful summer solstice in the first two episodes. That means until I know the exact dates in a episode as day and month actually said you can't blame me for the inconsistency from cannon and I know there will be a season six soon the community might see it following adult cmc and their lives if possible as their story is still unknown as even when it's obvious what their talents are they need to know they are still friends despite different talents. They don't seem to know to follow their sisters or sister figure's example there. Their trying for the same cutie mark. Not exactly the best for them. Okay enough ranting time to continue the story.
Edit: okay I really need to remember this is here. Sorry but this hiatus took longer than I expected as a lot happened that made me forget this story was here. Its a bit understandable as life happens and likes throwing curve balls. I'm sorry it took five years to get back to this but I'm sure the wait was worth it.

Chapter four the hunter in manehatten

Dark Hunter sighed as he read his newspaper. The black unicorn with red eyes dressed in decidedly gothic clothes befitting his job consisting of a black cloak over a black vest and midnight blue dress shirt with black fake leather pants and boots with his emblem of a silver cross with bat wings acting as the sides showed as his trademark.

Growing up in manehatten his life used to be simple. Until his family was murdered by vampires. He was even bitten himself. But what he found out was that his talent involving dark magic had allowed him to keep his sanity. He acted as the cities protector making sure no pony ever ended up like he did as a child. Not even his cousins twilight and shining knew he was a vampony himself. He did learn how to not accidentally turn another pony and practiced so he could turn that off at will. Though when he actively turned his pet bird into a vampire it became his familiar. So it was a surprise when his raven Seeker became alert like when a vampony arrives but what was different was that it seemed curious and not on edge. A faint knock sounded on his Door and the hidden vampony opened the door finding identical for the most part twins. The pegasus in the yellow gown smiled kindly and the red eyed twin seemed to blink in shock.

"By Luna he looks a bit like twilight" said the black wearing twin indicating the two toned black and red mane.

"You know my cousin?" Asked Dark curious.

"Oh sorry how rude of us I'm flutterbat and this is my twin fluttershy" said the black wearing twin and it was then dark saw the other differences between them.

"Ah your the vampony my friend lunar asked me to create a history in this town! Why are you both here?" Asked dark confused.

"We had our worst fear happen. Princess celestia had ran into flutterbat here alone and thought she was a corrupted me. Even with the truth she jumped to conclusions. Now we are being hunted down because of it" said fluttershy.

"Ah I see now then miss flutterbat why don't you come in and get settled.... is that albino bat yours?" Asked dark spotting the albino bat flying to them.

"Yes she's mine. White knight I hope your okay" said flutterbat as her pet landed on her shoulder as both were led in.

They spent the next three hours getting to know each other when the door knocked and dark went to open the door.

It was his cousin twilight and the rest of her friends.

"Don't worry cousin were on fluttershy’s side in this mess we got her note" said twilight and the five were led to the living room where the five saw flutterbat and fluttershy.

"Phew good thing we found you both any idea on how we can clear up this mess" said twilight curious.

"The only Idea I got is the gala. From the distance I heard from something about seeing both of us at the same time" I said but suddenly flashed my head up with dark's as something hit our senses and the raven owned by the unicorn gave a harsh caw.

"Vamponies are headed this way" we both said surprised looking to the window.

"Hold up! Your a vampony yourself! That explains the eyes" I said giving dark a look.

"Dark you have a lot of explaining to do" said twilight giving her cousin a narrowed look.

"Later we got company" said dark pulling out his sword as he ran out and I followed him to see a veritable army of mindless vampires heading this way.

I frowned and pulled out crescent rose which unfolded to scythe mode surprising dark.

"By God's that's one big scythe" said dark.

"It also acts as a rifle gun" i informed cocking the round.

"Sis looks like you got to explain where you got that weapon" said Fluttershy from behind her friends.

"Later shy" I said before glaring at the Vamponies as my version of the stare triggered. The front row of unicorn Vamponies froze and tripped before they shook their heads looking visibly confused.

Then to our surprise they started using paralyzing Spells on their comrades and looked to me with a urgent expression.

"Miss! Quick use your gaze on them! It is able to break the vampony lords hypnosis on them!

"Okay I didn't expect having that kind of ability" I admitted as I kept using the stare on the stunned vamponies.

" You are just full of surprises flutterbat" dark drawled as the horde once free and sanity returned flew off after asking dark for how he deals with his vampirism.

"Trust me I'm as surprised as you are" I said putting away my crescent rose.

"Still only somepony on a equal level could break the hypnosis cast by the Lord of vamponies ruler of the vamponies who hates those that's not under his rule" dark mentioned knowing from personal experience facing what had to be this worlds version of count Dracula.

"Well I'm not normal to begin with. For one I'm half vampire fruit bat when it comes to my vampirism so fruit juice is what I need instead of blood. So consider me a vegan vampony" I deadpanned at him and he nodded as well that was a good point.

" And gives you the ability to lead a regular life if needed" dark agreed.

" Well now that mess is cleared up care to explain why your a vampony cousin" twilight's voice said a bit coldly from behind dark making him pale as he remembered his cousin and their friends was there.

"Your on your own there dark from what sis tells me twilight hates it when family keeps secrets from each other and you did blindside her with that secret. Though that does explain your eyes" I told him as I was now getting dragged by my sis who was going to grill me on my weapon.

" Well so far I like shy's sister I'm surprised she could really pass as Fluttershy with how identical they look not even the twins at the spa are that identical just looking the inverse of each other" rarity said amused.

" Well she's better than zypher breeze the lazy layabout is a lot annoying" rainbow said recalling the Pegasus with a wince.

"And not even me and my sisters look that alike which reminds me I need to send my siblings a letter limestone won't believe I'm friends with some vamponies" pinkie agreed.

" Limestone" asked rainbow.

" Yeah my family owns a rock farm so names tend to reflect that I'm the only one that doesn't follow that tradition" pinkie said giggling.

" Considering Rose Quarts is normally Pink don't be too sure about that!" I told her breifly stopping my explanation of crescent rose to turn my head to give pinkie a look.

"Good hearing then again she's part bat so I'm not that surprised." Applejack said blinking.

" Looks like twilight is done chewing out her cousin" rarity noted a eyebrow raised.

I walked over rolling my eyes.

"Trust me I hope her brother doesn't make the mistake of letting her know he's getting married at the last minute I saw what happened when that happened to a friend of mine before she went into a tirade about it and publicly chewed him out about being the last to know of the family. Gale never let her brother live that one down" I said.

Dark looked over at me at that.

" You know Gale twist and her brother? Huh small world as they live nearby my place and help me with defending Manehattan from rogue vamponies" dark mused.

" Whirlwind of energy, can't stop talking at times and seem to always be hyped on caffeine in the mornings? Yeah were friends but not as close as others" I asked wondering how one of my few aquaintences got here.

" That's her alright. She and her brother and the in law sister arrived at my place looking for a friend though I wonder how you know two hedgehogs and a hawk" dark asked.

" Long story short I'm technically Fluttershy from another universe so it stands to reason somehow my friends followed me here and before you lot ask I'm technically the result of what happens when you try to change a swarm of fruit bats natural behavior with magic! Those instincts had to go somewhere" I told twilight and her friends deadpanned as I gave Applejack a pointed look.

"Why are you looking at me for" Applejack asked.

" In my world you were the one who instigated it after growing a huge house sized Apple for a contest and convinced through peer pressure to have me use the stare on the bats while twilight caught up in a chance for research was the one who cast the spell. So fair warning from me when the expert on animal behavior and biology suggests something listen or you risk turning Fluttershy into a more feral version of me as I know the chance of that was high. Even though most of those instincts have left me I'm stuck with a constant reminder" I told her and both mares paled as dark facepalmed.

" Yeah that's sounds like something twilight would do not thinking of the concequences in the heat of the moment. So cousin let flutterbat be a reminder what not to do" dark said.

" Rarity was also the one who gave me my current name so I couldn't be confused for her" I said pointing at my sister. Of course I wasn't being completely truthful of my actual origins but I was only trusting Fluttershy with that as well I am currently genetically mostly her so I'm falling back on what would have happened as my puplic history in this universe.

Something I'm glad Fluttershy realizes as well I don't want to seem insane.

Plus Applejack is a terrible liar so trusting her to keep a secret is not a option.

Still we worked out the details of fixing this mess while I also commissioned rarity for new clothes seeing as I had just the one set. Plus some undergarments as the transfer did somehow leave me without any.

That said tommorow I'm meeting up with my friends so I can find out how they ended up here and by the sounds of things the three ended up as Sonic the hedgehog characters.
