//-------------------------------------------------------// Electro Melodies -by Harmonic_Melodies- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Welcome to Private School //-------------------------------------------------------// Welcome to Private School School, the one thing that I never looked forward. It was always the same thing over and over again. New students who are beyond helpless, teachers trudging along with thermoses full of coffee and bags under their eyes, and seniors who spend their last year fooling around and getting into trouble. It was the same old song and dance known as public school. This year, I was going to be going to a private school for the first time in my life. Which in my mind wasn't any better. Preppy, snooty, and massively brain dead rich kids as far as the eye could see, teachers literally dressed in money, and worst of all, the fucking uniforms. I couldn't think of anything worse in my life if I wanted to. But, my parents somehow got the money for me to go, and they weren't about to let me pass up the opportunity. Thanks mom and dad, I'll write you from hell. Even worse was that the students lived on campus. I couldn't imagine why anyone would even remotely want to live within ten miles of a school, let alone live on its campus. The only way I'd live on a school's campus was if I was going to college, and even then I probably wouldn't do it. This was going to be one of the longest school years of my life. I got out of bed and threw on my uniform: a white, long sleeved collared shirt, a light blue vest and skirt, black bow tie, white knee high socks, and black dress shoes. Aside from my blue hair, I could pass for being a snooty rich kid. Though, I'm sure that they wouldn't even believe my facade. My mom knocked on my door, "Vinyl, are you ready? You don't want to be late on your first day." "Yeah mom, I'm just fixing my hair." "Ok dear, just come downstairs when your done." As she left, I walked over to my vanity mirror, "These fucking uniforms. Why do they even bother?" I grabbed my backpack and my suitcases and headed downstairs. My mom was waiting for me, smiling as she saw me in my new uniform, "Oh, my, you look beautiful." "I look like a nerd." "Don't say that. At least it matches your hair." "If you say so. Where's dad?" "He left early for work. But, I know he'd be proud to see his baby girl going off to her first private school." I could see a small tear forming in my mom's eye. "It's ok mom, you don't have to get emotional." She wiped the tear away and smiled, "I know, I just can't help myself. Did you remember your books?" "Yes." "You're schedule?" "Yes." "The map of the school?" "Yes." "Did you remember to pack clean underwear?" "Mom!" "What? I'm just trying to make sure that you have everything for school. Did you remember to grab your wallet and shopping list?" "Yes. Mom, I have everything. We went through this last night." "I know. I just want to make sure that you didn't forget anything." I smiled at her, giving her a hug, "I'm only going to be gone for a few months, I'll be home for the holidays, and I'll be sure to write you guys every week, I promise." "I'm gonna miss you." "I'm gonna miss you, too. I love you." "I love you, too, mom. I promise I'll do the best I can while I'm there." "I know you will sweetheart. You've always done well in school." "I know." "Now hurry along, you don't want to be late." I let her go and gave her a quick kiss before I grabbed my car keys and headed out the door. I got to my car, my dad's old 1968 Corvette, and packed all my things in the trunk. I got in and waved to my mom as I drove off, admittedly with tears in my eyes. So much for promising myself I wouldn't cry. I didn't really know much about the school I was going to. All I know about it is what Twilight tells me. Twilight is the head librarian's assistant (figures a bookworm like her would go for a position in a library) so she knows just about everything there is to know about the school. She told me that it has some of the highest academic awards in the state, and a majority of its students go on to lead very successful careers. Though, she may have just been over exaggerating like she always does. But I couldn't blame her. Not only is she passionate about her books, she's also really passionate about school and learning everything she can about anything she can. I kept driving for what felt like hours before I found the neighborhood where the school was. It was located in a large gated community, places that I only dreamed of going. I pulled up to the gate and the security guard stared at me. I looked up at him, forcing a weak smile. "Can I help you?" his voice were rugged and stern. "Yes, I'm looking for Canterlot Private Academy." "You've found it. What's your name young lady?" "Vinyl Scratch." He typed my name into the computer, and opened the gate, "Welcome to CPA." He handed me a parking permit sticker and waved me through. I smiled and drove passed him, into the nightmare that I'd soon call, school.
