Pink
Chapter 1
Load Full StoryDr. Olive laid down his clipboard on his desk, and sat down. He was just about to have a therapy session with one of his clients, Pinkamena. On the clipboard was all the information on her, and his notes. Just a few words: Ponyville, Equestria, Rainboom, and pudding.
Pinkamena had a montage of mental and normal illness, ranging from diabetes to alien hand syndrome. But, the official diagnosis was Schizophrenia, because she kept on thinking that she was somewhere else. Just figments of her mind, but real to her. She was a troublesome case.
Dr. Olive had been her therapist for a few years. The last one had given up when she started saying “Chima cherry chonga” for days on end. Dr. Olive took her place.
Pinkamena had been in the mental hospital ever since she was five, and spend her days in the white room, with several white noise makers to keep her occupied. She mostly just babbled all the time about a place named Eqestia. For a long time, Dr. Olive was interested by this, but had given up a year ago due to her seizures.
The door opened. Two doctors carried in a girl in a straight jacket. Her pink hair was messy, and her eyes were dilated.
“Sit down, Pinkamina.” Dr. Olive said. Pinkina laid down on a couch.
“Now, last week, you told me about this place...What was it again, I forgot, and I want to hear more about it.”
“Ponyvill.” Pinkamina said, staring off into space.
“Good.” Dr. Olive made a note. She still awserd, like always, and did not recall that Dr. Olive always said this. “Now, what do you do in this... Ponyvill.”
“I am a chief.” Pinlamema said. “At the sugar cube corner.”
“Fascinating” Dr. Olive lied. It was always the same story every week. She lived with Mr. and Ms. Cake, and made cupcakes in exchange for the spare room.
“Did it pay well?” Dr. Olive asked. He would have usually asked what she made, but that would lead him nowhere.
“Pay? Yes. I got bits from it.” Pinkina said. Her eyes seemed to gloss over some more.
“What are bits?” Dr. Olive asked. “Are they like... bits?”
“Yes. One bit for one cupcake.” Pinkamena said. “And, the spare room.”
“So, you lived in a rented room?” Dr. Olive asked. He already knew this.
“Yes. I lived in the Sugar cube corner as a chief and-”
“You already told me that, Pinkamena.” Dr. Olive said.
“Call me Pinkie.” Pinkamea said.
“What?” Dr. Olive said. She had never said that before. He scribbled a note.
“Yes. My name is Pinkie Pie...” She shifted her gaze, and hummed a song. The only thing that Dr. Olive could make out was “Smile, Smile, Smile.”
“Pinkie, are you singing?” Dr. Olive asked. This was a first.
“Yes I do.” Pinkie said, still looking off into space. “It fills me up with”
“Do you like to sing?” Dr. Olive asked.
“Sunshine...” Pinkie said. Pinkie sung for a few more minutes. She started to rock a little bit.
When she was done, Dr. Olive spoke up.
“Pinkie, is there anything else that you ever did in Ponyville? Did you have any friends?”
“I have friends. Twilight and AppleJack and-”
“You never told me about them. Who are they?”
“Well” Pinkie said. “Twilight is a unicorn, and AppleJack is a-”
“So, there are unicorns in there?” Dr. Olive asked. He made a note of this.
“Yes. Earth ponies, and Pegasi, and Unicorns. And Giffoni and Donkeys”
“So, Equestria” Dr. Olive asked. “Is full of ponies?”
“Of course, you silly filly!” Pinkie’s gaze locked on Dr. Olive suddenly, making him flinch. “I'm a pony, you a pony, we are all ponies.”
“Well. So, how is Eqesta different from... school?” Dr. Olive asked.
“Last week, Twilight’s Brother got married.” Pinkie said.
“Thats nice, but can you answer my-”
“To a princess.” Pinkie finished. “I did not know there was new princes. I thought it was just Luna and Celestia.”
“Who are they?” Dr. Olive asked.
“Celestia raies the sun, and Luna...”
“What does Luna do?”
“I forgot! Something about the moon!” Pinkie said.
“Back to the topic-”
“I held the reception. It was wonderful the first time, but them the bride turned out to be the changeling Queen and-”
‘What is a changeling, if you don't mind me asking.”
“A pony that can change it’s shape. It also feeds off love.”
Dr. Olive knew what this was. The connection from the real world to her mind, the Schizophrenia.
“Are things here at the school...changelings?” Dr. Olive asked.
“Every Pony at the school is a changing.” Pinkie said.
“Every one, Pinkie.” Dr. Olive said.
“No, you silly filly, Every pony!” Pinkie said. Dr. Olive made a note.
“Am I a changeling?” Dr. Olive asked.
“Yep! You take the form of a unicorn! With big blue eyes and-”
“Are the other teachers changings?”
“Yep! All the them! I am in the changing world!” Pinkie declared. She smiled widely. Her teeth were a dull yellow, because the only thing that she would eat would be cake.
Dr. Olive looked over at the clock. Five past nine.
“I have an appointment now, but I want to hear more about this. Next week?” Dr. Olive asked. He said that every week, but Pinkie never picked up on it.
“Okie Dokie Lokie!” Pinkie said. Dr. Olive gave a single to the officers. The officers took her out. Dr. Olive looked back at his notes. The word Changeling was circled, and so was Luna and Celestia. This was a new step in the right direction.
He now had a headache. Why did he do this? She went nowhere, just farther into her mind of madness and hallucinations.
The sound of laughing suddenly interrupted Dr. Olive’s thoughts. It was Pinkie, down the hall. She always laughed after therapy. The sounds of “Smile, Smile, Smile” was damped as she was locked in her room.
