More and more run-of-the-mill ponies are beginning to commit more crimes all over Equestria, for the Fire of Friendship is slowly beginning to die out. Reluctantly, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are forced to bring back the Pony Purge, an annual event on the night before the Summer Sun Celebration where all crime, including murder, is legal for 12 hours between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

Celestia; Luna; Cadence; Shining Armor and the Royal Guards; Twilight and the bearers of the Elements of Harmony; and their families are immure to the Pony Purge. However, every pony else has the risk of being foal napped, robbed, tortured, or worse - and most commonly - murdered.

Can Equestria survive 12 hours of cruelty and disharmony? And will this allow the Fire of Friendship to regain its fuel of love and tolerance to burn brightly for years to come… or will the Pony Purge cause it to die out completely?
