How I Lived In Equestria
Chapter 3.5-1: Jorge
Previous ChapterNext ChapterJorge closed the castle doors behind him, letting himself in instead of knocking on the door like he normally would. Mostly because he figured they’d let him in anyway after all the times he’s knocked.
Walking down the hall, he simply made his way over to Dylan’s room, wondering what his friend would be up to. He knocked on the door, half-expecting Dylan to shout something at the door. Only to have no such reaction, or any reaction at all, actually.
“Dylan?” The cuban raised an eyebrow, knocking on the door once more. “You in there? It’s me, Jorge.”
But yet, despite his announcement, Jorge had not received any reaction whatsoever.
He rolled his eyes, knowing Dylan couldn’t possibly be sleeping at this time. He grabbed the doorknob, twisting it as he pushed the door open.
Upon entering his room, he couldn’t seem to find Dylan anywhere in plain sight. Jorge, knowing Dylan, figured his friend was hiding somewhere. And it soon became his mission to find him.
He checked the closets, under his bed, between his mattress and bed frame, and any other strange location he could think of. Only to conclude…
Dylan wasn’t in the room.
Jorge mentally facepalmed with his non-existent hand, and proceeded to leave the room.
Walking down the hall once more, he began looking around the open rooms to see if he could find anypony in sight. It wasn’t until he had walked further into the castle when he heard voices in the distance.
”I’m not trying that pie!”
”Fine! Shadow, you try the pie!”
”Why don’t you try the pie?”
”I made the pie!”
”Exactly! Which is why—”
Jorge opened the door a crack, poking his head through to see Twilight, Shadow, and Dylan all arguing about a pie the male unicorn held in his magical grasp. “What’s going on in here?”
“Jorge should try the pie!” Shadow finished his sentence, sighing in relief over the cuban’s appearance.
“Wait, what?” Jorge blinked, immediately having his face stuffed with a slice of pie before he could say anything else.
Dylan smiled in amusement, as he watched Jorge slowly began chewing the pie. “Welllllll? How’s it taste?”
Jorge continued to chew the pie for a few more moments, before promptly grabbing a trashcan that Twilight had given him, and spitting it out.
He waited for a moment, before looking at both of the stallions in the room. “Next time you two have some experiment, or whatever the fuck this was… Leave me out of it.”
“Can’t promise that.” Shadow shook his head. “But I’ll try.”
“So, how’d it taste, Jorge?” Dylan asked.
“Like garbage.” The cuban bluntly stated. “It felt like I was eating metal or something…”
“Oh. That’s because it used to be a bucket.”
“It what!?”
“Yeah, I turned a bucket into a pie with my magic!” Dylan gleefully smiled. “Cool, huh?”
“Couldn’t you at least try to make it taste like an actual pie?!” Jorge stomped a hoof onto the floor.
“Well, I could have made it taste like pie, but that would have blown your tiny mind.” Dylan said as he casually floated toward the ceiling.
Jorge stopped for a moment to think about Dylan’s statement. “...Did you just imply you were going to make a pie flavored p—why are you on the ceiling?”
“Why aren’t you on the ceiling?” Dylan raised an eyebrow.
“Dylan, we talked about this.” Shadow sighed. “Stop walking on the ceiling.”
“Make me.” Dylan retorted.
“I will fly up there, and I will throw you onto the ground.”
“Fuck. I forgot you can fly…”
Jorge looked over to his canadian friend as Dylan casually floated back down onto the ground. “When did this start happening?”
“After he made that ‘corn’ we fed to Ish.” Shadow shrugged. “Ever since he realized he could use magic, he’s… been having a little too much fun with it.”
Jorge looked at Dylan, stared at the unicorn for a moment, then back to the canadian.
“I say we slap a magic inhibitor on his horn.”
“And this is where I behave myself to avoid the scary canadian and maniacal cuban.”
“Thought so.” Jorge smiled confidently.
“So you’ll take a threat from Jorge. But when Twilight and I threaten you, you won’t care?”
“Jorge is cuban.” Dylan shook his head. “Therefore, his threats have more substance to them.”
“But… Twilight’s an alicorn!” Shadow retorted.
“I’ve met this woman like… a month ago, I still don’t know what an alicorn is, to be honest.”
“Out of all the ponies you met, how many have you seen that have both wings and a horn?”
“Wait. There are ponies that have both wings and a horn!?”
Jorge simply deadpanned. Looking over to the princess who’s been silent this entire time.
“How are the foals, Twilight?”
“Twilight has wings and a horn!?” Dylan shot his attention over to the purple alicorn.
“They’re taking a nap at the moment, but otherwise they’re doing fine. What about you?”
“Jorge, who else has wings and a horn?! This is completely irrelevant, but still important, information!”
“They’re fine, Dash fell asleep with the foals, I would’ve joined them, but I’m not exactly in the mood to take a nap.” Jorge shook his head. “So I came here to see what’s up.”
“Well, maybe we can arrange some sort of play date for our foals!” Twilight smiled.
“Ehh… talk to Dash about that one.” Jorge shrugged. “They’re only a week old, after all.”
”Oooh, naps. I think I’ll go lay down for a bit, yeah that sounds good.”
“Yeah, and Midnight and Emerald are a month old, what’s your point?” Twilight raised an eyebrow.
“My point is you figure that out with Dash, I don’t like planning things.” Jorge shook his head, extending a rear leg, tripping a certain brown-ish red unicorn, preventing him from leaving the room.
“What the fuck, Jorge?!” Dylan shouted. “Your problems were leaving! I was about to go take a nap!”
“Yeah, well. We’re going to clear up a ton of things that you’ve been oblivious to.”
“Sure thing, whore-hey.”
Jorge stopped for a moment, having not heard that nickname in a while. He took a deep breath, and sighed softly, he then proceeded to help the unicorn back up onto his hooves. He then pointed over to Twilight. “Twilight has both wings and a horn. That’s what’s known as an alicorn here in Equestria.”
“And why does she have wings and a horn?”
“Because she’s a princess.”
“Wait, this is a monarchy!?”
“Oh boy, we have a lot of work to do…”
“Cryo!” Ish shouted, hoping his adoptive “bro” would hear him from several rooms away. “Where my anti-baseball bat shield at?”
“Didn’t you leave it by the door?”
Ish looked towards the entrance to his apartment, noticing his makeshift shield, composed of a bunch of pillows, rope, and a thin metal plate on the front. “We gucci fam.”
“You heading out?”
“Yeah, just don’t want to get killed by a stray bat.”
Cryo walked out of his room, walking over to the door where Ish now stood. “Can I come with?”
“Sure. Maybe we can meme something.”
Cryo simply rolled his eyes, following Ish as they exited the apartment.
“Alright, when I open the door, just be very quiet, Dash might still be asleep and I don’t wanna wake her.”
“Alright.” Twilight nodded softly.
As the two made their way over to the cuban’s house, they noticed a familiar human, who seemed to be heading towards the same destination.
“Twilight? I’m gonna need a bat.”
“Why?”
“No time to explain, I need a bat, right now.”
And just like that, Twilight had conjured up a metal baseball bat, and giving it to Jorge. Who proceeded to grab the bat, and chuck it at the human.
Cryo, having seen Jorge grab the bat, walked a couple feet away from Ish, letting him deal with it on his own.
Suddenly, Ish had noticed something quickly coming into view from the corner of his eye. He quickly reacted by holding his shield outwards, and hiding behind it. Only for the bat to hit the shield, but ultimately break the weak material, and proceeded to hit Ish in the face anyway.
Twilight blinked. “That explains why you needed the bat…”
Eventually, Jorge and Twilight had reached the entrance to the house, noticing Ish groaning in pain softly a few feet away.
Jorge walked over to the asian, rolling his eyes as he poked his leg. “You know, you wouldn’t be in this situation right now if you hadn’t constantly bursted into people’s homes randomly.”
“Noted…”
Jorge looked over to Cryo. “Heya, Cryo!” He waved. “Wanna come in?”
Cryo looked over to the human crying on the ground in the fetal position, then back at Jorge. “Sure!”
As they quietly made it into the house, Jorge closed the door behind him, while the others continued into the living room.
“Well, I’m guessing Dash is still asleep, so if you wanna wait for her to wake up, Twilight. Feel free.” Jorge explained.
“I’ll wait. Besides, I have to ask Cryo a few questions.” Twilight looked over to the colt, who had already been watching TV, with the volume low.
Jorge simply nodded, and made his way over to his room, where his wife had fallen asleep.
Twilight sat next to Cryo, patting his back gently with a wing. “So, Cryo… How’s life with Ishtaba?”
Upon entering his room, he quickly noticed his wife, under the covers, holding the foals on top of her, as the three of them slept.
He smiled at the sight, walking over to the three of them, as he gently kissed Dash’s forehead. He then gently grabbed the foals, pulling them out of their mother’s grasp, and taking them back to their crib that Dash had insisted on moving to this very room.
Once he had gotten them onto the crib without disturbing them from their sleep, Jorge made his way back over to the bed, noticing Linda sleeping on his side of the bed. He chuckled softly with a roll of his eyes, and gently moved her someplace where she couldn’t disturb him. He set his glasses down on top of the dresser, and layed in bed next to his wife.
As much as he wanted to wake her up, he decided against it. And instead lied down on his back, looking at the ceiling as he began contemplating his life.
To think, this all started due to a dare just a few years ago. That single dare started all of these events that have now become his life. How he was able to arrive in Equestria the first time is a mystery he’ll probably never be able to solve. Nor would he want to at this point, considering everything he has here. He befriended the bearers of the elements (despite having stolen the elements once), married his waifu, and now here he is, with his wife and foals.
The only thing that irked him somewhat was having his friends around to bother him, but then again, things wouldn’t be the same without them around.
Except for Ish, he could do without him.
He looked over to Dash, her chest rising and falling slowly, he simply smiled. Never had he thought he’d be spending the rest of his life with a cartoon pony. Hell, if he went back in time to tell himself, he would’ve been called insane, by himself.
Eventually, Dash had stirred a bit, grumbling something unintelligible, until she turned to face her husband, and wrap her hooves around him. All while still being asleep.
Moments like these were always the most precious for Jorge, only he had seen this softer side of Rainbow “Danger” Dash, the coolest mare in Equestria. While she had let this softer side of hers out a little, she still opened up more to him behind closed doors.
He hoped that moments like these would never stop happening.
He looked back over to his wife, having lost track of time, and slowly tried to pull himself out of her embrace, it worked somewhat, but it only gave him enough time to turn from laying on his back, to laying on his side, directly facing her. Once he had gotten into position, she then grabbed him once more, humming softly.
Having figured it was about time she got up, he gently called her name. “Dash…” He moved around gently, trying to see if he could coax her awake. “Dashie…” Though despite his efforts, she refused to wake up. “Rainbow…”
After enough stirring and calling her name, she groaned gently, her eyes opening slowly as she began to return to the real world.
“Welcome back, sleepyhead…” Jorge muttered. “We’ve been expecting you.”
“Hey…” Dash muttered back, ignoring his playful jest. “How long have I been out?”
“About an hour, I wanna say…”
Dash let go of her husband, freeing her hooves so she could rub her eyes. “An hour, huh?” She stifled a yawn. “It feels like it’s been longer…”
Jorge grabbed his glasses from the nearby drawer, putting them back on. “Might have been, I haven’t been keeping track.”
Dash slowly sat upright, looking at the crib nearby. “You put the foals back in the crib?”
“Indeed I did.” Jorge nodded in response, slowly leaving the bed. “I figured I’d come wake you up, so you wouldn’t be up all night again.”
Dash nodded back. “Yeah, thanks…”
“Mhm. Anyway, I’mma be out in the living room if you need me. Twilight’s here and I don’t wanna leave her alone out there.”
“Twilight’s here?”
“Yeah. She wanted to ask you something, dunno what.”
“Tell her I’ll be out there in a sec, alright?”
“WIll do.”
As Dash slowly closed the door behind her, she made her way towards the living room, hearing a conversation getting louder as she got closer.
“Look, I just don’t think Cryo belongs in that kind of environment.”
“Twilight, I get that you’re a month into this whole mothering thing, and it’s given you this seventh sense. But you didn’t have a problem with this a few months ago.”
“Yeah, well, maternal instincts finally kicked in. And after talking with Cryo I now realize he does not belong with Ish.”
“What do you plan on doing then, Twilight? Take him back to the orphanage? The three of us agreed we weren’t gonna do that.”
“I don’t know, Jorge. I don’t know. I’ll… I’ll figure something out, alright?”
“Hey, what’s going on?” Dash finally arrived to the living room, an eyebrow raised having heard the final few sentences of what appeared to be a pretty long conversation.
“Oh! You’re awake!” Twilight cheered. “Are the foals awake too, or…?”
“Nah, they’re still napping.” Dash shook her head. “What’s going on with Cryo?”
“Twilight decided that Cryo shouldn’t be living with Ish anymore. And as Princess, she’s more than allowed to take him away.” Jorge explained. “I’m trying to tell her it’s a bad idea, but she’s determined to say otherwise.”
“And what, may I ask, kind of plan do you have, Jorge?”
“Right now, nothing. But taking Cryo away when Ish is convinced he is Cryo’s legal guardian is a bad idea.”
“Well, you should’ve thought about that before we changed the papers to have your name on it.”
“The agreement was that if Ish proved to be a terrible father to Cryo, which he hasn’t done yet. Then we’d take Cryo away. We went over this with Shadow, Twilight. Yeah, he’s not doing a very good job, but he’s not terrible yet.”
“Camping out in the Everfree Forest for a month.”
“...Alright, you got me there. That was pretty shitty.”
“Jorge. I’m taking Cryo. End of Discussion.”
“Doesn’t Shadow get a say in this?” Jorge raised an eyebrow.
“I already talked it over with Shadow, he more than agrees with this decision.”
“Of course he does…” Jorge rolled his eyes. “Alright, Twilight, where are we gonna leave him? You have enough problems on your hooves to be taking care of a ten year old colt.”
“Jorge, if it’s that big a deal, we can take care of him.” Dash shrugged.
“See?” Twilight pointed at Rainbow. “Not a problem anymore.”
Jorge blinked, looking over to his wife. “Wait, really? Are you sure, Dash?”
“Sure! He hasn’t been a problem the multiple times he’s spent the weekend.” Dash replied. “Besides, he’s been more help than harm. I don’t see why not.”
“If you say so, Dash…”
“Alright then, problem solved!” Twilight stood from her seat, then looked over to Dash. “Oh, by the way, I wanted to talk to you about something.”
Dash raised an eyebrow. “And what’s that?”
“Do you think we can arrange a playdate for the foals some time?”
