Pinkie Pie's POV
Repercussions: 1
Setting Prince Blueblood up with the invitation had been fun. Not just because he went for it, but the effects he was sure to experience right now.
He was never the stallion that Princess Celestia had been most fond of, but talking her into having him over had still not been too hard. In the end, she had still had a good laugh at the expense of this episode.
I had served him the treat he had been looking forwards to. He had enjoyed it, even if he had not realised what it was at the time. I know he would be the wiser to the effects, even if there is a good chance he had not explored it fully just yet.
I had invited another friend over. A mare known as Surprise, commonly known as a white Pegasus. She had laughed pretty hard as I explained the situation. I can’t blame her, it had been hilarious.
Planning this had been fun and what he would have expected to be well beyond my capabilities. If only he had known. Yet, Surprise knew me better than that, and far better than he could possibly know any mare in his situation. The restriction of power and position can be one menace to deal with to a stallion.
Naturally, I had planned the next step, even before Surprise arrived at my home. I am already wearing the suit I had crafted, not quite the high fashion Rarity enjoys, but it sure is effective.
The first sign of the suit is what had to be there, and what had to be seen by him and by all; the Unicorn horn. Without it, I would never have a chance to enter his castle, let alone see him in person.
For that one brief moment, my body carry that glistering of the shiny rubber my suit had been created out of. Only then, it coalesced into the look of a regular, yet Royal mare I had intended to pose as. Now, even this preparation would have failed, had I not known my Princesses by heart. Memory eternal, I can never forget, even if I can turn my eyes and focus as I pleases; with is why I look like the unfocused airhead some may seem me as, as I laugh away.
Now, here is the trick, to invent a second, my friend. Surprise is to come with me on this one event. I had it all prepared. Giving her a suit, identical to my very own, aside from the one detail, she is to carry her own persona, her mark and her self. I can’t have her as a copy of me, myself. I had pulled that trick once, once too many. Even if I knew my Prince knows nothing of it.
Upon taking the persona on, I have to forgo all the antics of my true self. I guess it could be a challenge, but once in there, I can openly channel magic in the arcane ways of Unicorns. Maybe the bigger struggle is not to overdo it? No mere Unicorn can ever know the challenge of this type.
Maybe my friend Surprise had a hint as a Pegasus, she had to make the same sacrifice. She has to leave her wings behind for the duration. Never having the comfort of physical wings on her back.
The one thing that can at least in part compensate is the power to teleport us to where I had intended to go. Placing the two of us just out of sight of the castle, out of sight of the Ponies who could respond. Now, with the two of us in the city, in trotting distance to his palace, his castle, we move up, and approach his home. Arriving at the expected hour.
Knowing magic is linked to the person and the colour of her eyes, it is good that he never did see all that much of me, on the occasion we did meet. Being an earth type Pony by birth, it would still be a challenge to recognise me by this small detail, as insignificant as it may seem.
There are numerous blue eyes Unicorns throughout Equestria, and even in Canterlot. The chosen design made the two of us as a bright white, only off to a highlight. I am a hint towards blue, while Surprise is hinting towards purple. Small detail, insignificant detail, but just enough to set the two of us apart.
The horn just slightly more than the average, but enough to look Regal. My horn has the common spiral. Just as it has the pointy look of an adult mare Unicorn.
I like the bright glow of my horn. This is something a mare like me could get used to. Yet, to leave my antics behind will keep me grounded enough to turn back as I go home. Rest assured, I can never give up on who I am. How could I?
The guard had been frosty, but helpful enough. I know guards, so it is no surprise to me. Surprise merely following me a step behind. I had made sure to include her in the letter and had her cleared.
I fall in step behind the guard, slowly trotting calmly and self assured. Calm is something I can produce on the drop of a hat, thankfully. On the other hoof, I can be just as much of a drama queen as Rarity, when I am in the mood or the moment is calling for it, my friends know this. At least, my closer once in Ponyville do.
Having and making friends is natural to me, even if I have managed to fail on the few occasions. I can confess my failures here. Failing on the few occasions, when I have more friends than any Pony currently alive is no shame. At least, it shouldn’t be.
“Right this way, Prince Blueblood will be with the two of you at his earliest convenience!” the guard stated, as he recognised the two of us by the gate.
“Thank you. We will be right behind you!” I pronounced in the best impression of a Royal Princess.
The guard merely nodded and trotted along the halls to the promised hall. Surprise never said a word, it was never expected.
The guard stops.
“This is it!” the guard pointed out.
“Would you care for a cup of tea, my Dear Ladies?” a servant inquired a moment later, just as the guard had left the hall.
