Life is full of bitter disappointments. Sometimes projects fail and dreams are crushed. Sometimes the day is not saved and the city is lost. Sometimes the ponies that you love die. Reality can be cruel and utterly heartless.

Most ponies simply accept this as the nature of things and move on. They grieve over their losses and try to build a better future. But one pony discovered that reality can be changed. With only a quill and a piece of parchment, anything that you desire can be yours. If you don't like reality then change it – or, better yet, build a new reality that is more to your liking.

After all, what's the harm? Everypony can finally get everything they ever wanted. No more limitations – just endless opportunity. What could be better than that?

And if this new magic ends up destroying all of Equestria, well, we can just write a new one. It's no big deal. Right?
