Sins are Forever
1 - Prologue
Load Full StoryThere are tales of nightmares as old as time, monsters that lie in the shadows waiting to be remembered. A long forgotten story of a boy who became the guardian of the Deadly Seven. That tale was always the same “Isaac and his mother lived alone in a small house on a hill. Isaac kept to himself drawing pictures and playing with his toys as his mom watched Christian broadcasts on the television. Life was simple and they were both happy. That was until the day Isaac's mom heard a voice from above:
"Your son has become corrupted by sin. He needs to be saved."
"I will do my best to save him, my Lord," Isaac's mother replied, rushing into Isaac's room, removing all that was evil from his life.
Again the voice called to her:
"Isaac's soul is still corrupt. He needs to be cut off from all that is evil in this world and confess his sins."
"I will follow your instructions, Lord. I have faith in thee," Isaac's mother replied as she locked Isaac in his room away from the evils of the world.
One last time Isaac's mom heard the voice of God calling to her:
"You've done as I've asked, but I still question your devotion to me. To prove your faith, I will ask one more thing of you."
"Yes, Lord. Anything," Isaac's mother begged.
"To prove your love and devotion, I require a sacrifice. Your son, Isaac, will be this sacrifice. Go into his room and end his life as an offering to me, to prove you love me above all else."
"Yes, Lord," she replied, grabbing a butchers knife from the kitchen.
Isaac, watching through a crack in his door, trembled in fear. Scrambling around his room to find a hiding place, he noticed a trapdoor to the basement hidden under his rug. Without hesitation, he flung open the hatch just as his mother burst through his door and threw himself down into the unknown depths below...”
Well Isaac was now gone and reaping an eternal reward for his sacrifice, however the monsters from the depths have all but disappeared and they are getting impatient.
It was sunny day in Ponyville, the birds were singing and flying lazily across the sky, and the pony residents of the town weren’t doing much but enjoying the slow day, that is unless that pony was a certain purple pony princess. To say that Twilight Sparkle was worried was an understatement, she was slightly more on the “freaking out” side. Twilight was galloping around her library looking through a large number of old tomes for any prophesies. It had been almost a year since any major catastrophe, or life threatening scenario. Which meant they were overdue. Twilight knew to not worry about the future or what it might bring, she had already checked out of that library card, but she couldn’t help but feel as if something terrible was about to happen. It was driving her nuts, however, as she could not find anything that pointed to another disaster. It was at this time that her concentration got pulled by a small purple drake calling her wearing a pink apron.
"Twilight will you put down those books and come to breakfast," called the dragon.
"Spike! How can I eat breakfast at a time like this?" She exclaimed, " Don't you see that I need to prepare."
Spike the dragon looked at her both amused and exasperated at the disheveled alicorn. "Twilight please. There has not been a single disaster in over a year and besides I doubt there will be one in the thirty minutes you would take to eat breakfast. Now come down to eat."
"Don't you see Spike there hasn't been a single disaster that means that we must be due for one any minute now," Twilight said sounding more paranoid than she wanted to.
"Twilight if that happens you and the girls can get together to stop it besides you promised Applejack you would help her again with the harvest this year," the drake replied rolling his eyes. Of course he seen the this side of the alicorn before the had lived together their whole life she was basically his mother, but sometimes it seemed that she needed him to keep her sanity about. "Come down and eat so you can go." Twilight relented to this and thought that maybe she was over-worrying again. She just needed some fresh air and helping Applejack in the farm was definitely give her that. She ate her waffles and left towards Sweet Apple Acres, however she still had that sinking feeling.
Now just outside of Ponyville was a dark and spooky forest that wasn't didn't adhere to pony magic. This had earned it the name the Everfree Forest and since it's weather wasn't controlled by ponies, nopony ever paid any mind to the weather that happened in there until it started to head to the town. Unfortunately in the middle of this forest, in the deepest part beyond where ponies ventured, in the part were even the most ferocious beasts of the Everfree didn't dare venture. At this point underneath all the foliage and dead leaves laid a small foundation that was claimed by time, crumbled and destroyed by vines, however one spot in this foundation laid perfectly preserved. A tiny colt-sized trap door, it was untouched by the plants and even fallen leaves and tree limbs seemed to actively avoid it. It seemed that time had no effect on this door as it looked like it was built only days ago, however underneath this small trap door laid a tale of woe and strife, as it was the entrance to the Basement.
The old basement was run down it was not seen action in very many years, and within those empty halls behind a locked door sat a dusty corpse with a noose around his neck. In front of him some items a lack luster key, an old battery, a bomb, a sign that had two bombs drawn on it and a red candle. The room was a hastily constructed shop the corpse had a name inscribed into it ‘Greed’. He sat there staring lifelessly onto the wall wondering when the last time he saw his regular customer. The seemingly dead corpse looked around his dusty, shop full of cobwebs, and took notice of the key in his inventory. He stood up and became taller two pennies appeared in his eyes and a money sign on his forehead, it felt good to show his true form. Greed took his shop key trinket from his inventory and unlocked the door to his shop, stepping outside as the door opened. He gave a raspy yell and looked into the darkness of the basement. Soon he stepped back into his shop leaving the door open. He heard footsteps, the first set seemed to be charging and making a constant splashing noise. Greed knew who exactly who that was, and he braced himself as he was tackled to the ground.
“Hello, brother I feel like it’s been forever since we have seen each other!” yelled the bubbly and deformed pink mass on top of Greed, “and I say is that a roll of pennies or are you THAT happy to see me.”
“Dammit, Lust,” yelled a floating blue entity that casually floated into the room, “how many times do I have to tell you that my brother only has eyes for me.”
“Sure, sure Envy,” said a new pink form that entered the room, this one however had skin that seemed to be impossibly smooth, “we all know you both are jealous that you’re not as talented as at catching eyes as I am.”
Lust glared at the other pink figure and was about to retaliate when she heard, resounding footsteps and dragging. Looking at the door she saw a large person with a slit across their back and front, as well as blood dripping from their mouth, dragging equally large green person with spiders and maggots all over its body.
Lust saw this an opportunity to get back at her sister and said pointing at the maggot covered figure, “Well, Pride, I really think the Sloth’s limp, maggoty body here does a better job at pleasing our brother than your cold scaly skin ever would.”
Lust smiled as she had actually hit a nerve with Pride, the other pink one, but her victory only lasted a moment when she heard Pride mutter, “Well, I thought Gluttony was the fat one.”
This caused Lust to attack Pride who then pushed her at Envy, who bumped into Gluttony, who threw Sloth. Suddenly there was a new person in the room who was wearing a bomber suit, who jumped into the fight yelling and throwing punches. While all this was going on Greed was sitting at the bottom of the pile losing his temper.
“THAT. IS. ENOUGH!” Greed stood up knocking everyone down. “Will everyone just stop bickering?!? You guys are acting like unbelievably moronic!”
Every one sat up with the exception of Sloth who just kind of laid there.
“Anyway I called you here to ask you something. Have any of you noticed anything out of the ordinary?” Greed asked although he already knew the answer.
“You got a new noose,” Pride offered the first answer that popped into her head.
Greed just kind of glared at her and waited for someone else.
“The shop was upgraded again,” said Lust.
“Half price snack day,” said Sloth which got Gluttony’s attention.
“Not really, I haven’t.” offered Envy honestly.
Greed just shook his head and looked at the bomber clothed individual, “What about you Wrath?”
“I haven’t actually seen the boy in a while,” Wrath yelled. That seemed to get Greed to finally relax.
"About damn time!," exclaimed somewhat frustrated stingy sin.
Everyone else looked at each other and started to think back over the time. They all quietly agreed. No one had seen Isaac in quite some time. In fact, they hadn’t even had to change any items in the item rooms or boss rooms, but if he was gone, than there was nothing keeping them here. Greed gave a wicked smile and the other quickly understood. All the sins remained silent as they vacated the store, towards the room that contained closed trap door that led to the surface world. As they walked through the dank, bloodstained halls of the abandoned a caves other monstrosities began following them in a confused manner.
Author's Note
Hello, there guys, this is my first story. I am using it to practice my English as it is a second language to me.
I hope I made it clear that Greed is the only male out of the sins. I guess it's a bit Rule 63, I do not know. Also all the sins are in their Super forms. Please leave some criticism for my story and grammar. Thank you
