//-------------------------------------------------------// Ain't That A Kick In The Head -by Caroline263- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One It was a very sunny morning in Ponyville, the sun looming over every multicolored pony trotting about the town, giving energy to the crops at Sweet Apple Acres. Within the farmhouse, Troubleshoes stood at the stove, cooking up some breakfast for his wives. He poked at the eggs with the spatula in his mouth, trying his best not to get his muzzle to close to the hot surface. He knew Cherry Jubilee would be a wailing mess if he got himself hurt, just like the last twenty eight times she sobbed over his injuries the past few months. He looked up from the stove and out the window, seeing Applejack in the fields with her brother, getting some early applebucking done. The orange mare spotted him from the Macintosh grove, As he turned over the bacon in the next pan over, he heard a shrill squeal, followed by some yelling. "TROUBLESHOES! AJ! GET YOUR PLOTS OVER HERE!" Clyde winced at this, turning off the stove to run to the living room. He spotted Applebloom beside Cherry, the two redheads sitting on the rug. The cherry farmer was rubbing her large gut, practically glowing as she and the teen filly put her cheek to the large orb. "She's quite the kicker isn't she?"  Applebloom giggled. "Eeyup, sometimes I wonder if there's more than one little filly in there," she chuckled. Troubleshoes grimaced hearing that, "I hope not..." Cherry snapped her head towards the stallion, "What did you say?" "N-Nothing dear," He heard a soft chuckling coming from behind him, and turned his head to see Applejack walking over. She was still sweaty from work, and she was tracking in dirt. "Don't worry, I'm sure there's only one foal in there," She patted his back. The pregnant mare narrowed her eyes at their wife, "Applejack, you better clean your hooves and the mess you made on the floor, I spent all afternoon yesterday cleaning this pigsty up," She pouted. "Uh, Cherry, this is a farmhouse, not a pigsty," AJ said. Applebloom nodded, "Yeah, the pigsty's just nextdoor," She pointed at one of the window to the farm outside. The pregnant mare huffed in frustration, "I know what already girls-" She was cut off by the sharp kicks coming from inside her stomach. She took a few deep breaths, rubbing her gut slowly as her expression softened. "You two wanna feel your daughter kicking or what?" "I'd be glad to sweet pea, " Troubleshoes smiled, taking his hat off as he trotted over to their wife. Sitting down beside her, he put the side of his face up to her stomach. He was able to hear the little patter of hooves pressing against the womb, when - Smack! The draft horse was sent reeling back, feeling his cheek and jaw going numb.  He rubbed the injury slowly, whimpering and trying not to cry. "Oh quit your sobbing, that better not be a trait she gets from you," Applejack said as he got down and pressed her ear to Cherry's belly. "Then where do you think she gets her bucking from?" Applebloom smirked at her older sister. The orange pony blushed, hiding her face in her wife's belly, failing to realize another strong kick was head right for her nose. - "Oh you poor dears, I'm so sorry this had to happen to you, " Cherry Jubilee cooed as she gave the work horses both icepacks to ease the pain. Applejack grumbled under her breath, letting the cold ice ease her throbbing red nose. Troubleshoes just pouted like a puppy, looking down at the ground as their wife patted his cheek with some ice. "It really hurt..." He said softly. "Yah, and she made me look like Rudolph!" AJ put the icepacks down, motioning to her swollen muzzle, almost looking like it had morphed into a giant zit. Cherry smiled and patted their backs, sitting between them on the couch. "Well I promise you this won't ever happen again," She said. "You promise?" "Of course, besides, she was only kicking a little. It could be worse," The red head shrugged. "How?" Clyde asked. "I could be going into labor right now-" Cherry was cut off by the soft splashing of her water breaking onto the couch. "Oh brother..." ~ Applejack and Troubleshoes both sat on the couch, their hooves sore from holding icepacks up to their faces for so long. The two's manes were disheveled from staying up all night, barely getting any sleep thanks to their little filly's crying. They didn't know they were gonna get kicked in the face just for trying to change her diaper. The two blinked slowly, as Cherry Jubilee trotted in, very merry as always. Her red curls tied back underneath her bandana, horseshoes shined and pink eyeshadow around her bright green eyes as always. She hadn't lost a second of sleep since their little foal was born, lucky her she was a deep sleeper. She went up to her mates and smiled, "Morning sugar cubes, lil Bonnie fussy at breakfast again," She asked, giggling softly as she checked out their bruises. "What do you think?" AJ huffed. "Why does this always seem to happen to us?" Troubleshoes whined, whimpering lightly as he could swear he could hear the faint crying of Bonnibel coming from the kitchen. The two work horses bounced off of the couch, throwing the icepacks onto the ground as they galloped out as fast as they could. "Your turn!" They both cried out as they ran into the fields to start working. Cherry just shook her head, and went to see why the foal was fussing. - Applebloom giggled softly to herself as she listened to Bonnibel's babbling, watching the little foal put up her building blocks and knocking them down, finding joy in destroying the towers and city's her aunt set up. As the little filly continued her mimicking of a dragon, the big brown stallion came trotting in with his wives. Applejack's nice green suit was torn and ruffed up, the white hat she wore atop her already pretty wild hair bent and appeared even dirtier than the rest of her. Cherry's blue satin dress was even worst, coated with champaign and cake and many other sweets she had coated herself with them diving into the buffet table. And though Troubleshoes only wore his tie and hat, it was just as ripped up as AJ's get up, and he was covered with lipstick from drunken mares attempting to seduce him. "Bad time at the gala again?" The teen mare smirked, watching the trio collapse onto the rug. Cherry Jubilee just whimpered some nonsense, while AJ nodded slowly. "Eeyup." "Eight bad galas in a row I see," Applebloom chuckled, "Get it to ten and you'll set a record sis." Bonnibel looked up from her tower destroying, grinning brightly seeing her parents. She trotted over, her orange curls bouncing all over the place. "Mama! Mommy! Dada!" The cherry red filly jumped up and jumped atop the parent dog pile. "Hey there sweat pea..." Troubleshoes said softly, forcing a smile. The orange mare above him chuckled, "You miss us Bon Bon?" She nodded, jumping down to her father's level. "We missed you too sweetie," Cherry Jubilee smiled weakly. Bonnibel noticed her father looked the worst of the three and pur her chubby little hooves on his cheek, "Dada okay?" "Dada okay...but can daddy have one of your magical healing kisses~" He pursed his lips, pointing to his nose. He knew how much Bonnie loved to think her little hoof bumps and Eskimo kisses helped her parents when they were ill, he knew they had many more years until they'd have to break it to her it didn't do anything but raise their spirits. Nodding, the little foal took a couple steps back, before sprinting towards Clyde to give him a 'healing head butt'.
