Interlude 1- Celestia

Prologue: pain

Pain. That's all she could remember at first. But over time, she started to remember things. A brother. A pink pony that was her friend. A white monster that caused her to be like this. Soon she would leave the forest and then, she would be haunted no more by the monster. She would find it and kill it, just like she had with the timber wolves. She would find peace, even if she had to kill.

Zebras and waiting wolves

As she was pondering the actions of the timber wolves the other day and searching for some herbs to replenish her stock, she heard a humming sound coming from her left.

' Damn it, it's that zebra. Got to hide.'

As she dives into the brush, she saw the zebra walking by, with a staff somehow balanced on her back and a determined look on her face.

" I still can not find who made these trails. They must live near by, judging from how the timber wolves react to this section of the forest. I will go the rounds one more time, then I will go home."

As she walked off, twilight walked out of the bush and pulled some thorns out of her coat.

"Ok, next time, check for thorns BEFORE you jump."

As she looked where the zebra had walked off, she thought to herself 'So, that zebra is looking for me huh? I will have to be more careful. Add that to those armored ponies that keep on trying to find me, and I will have to be much more careful in the future. Maybe if I bring something to the timber wolves, I can get a few to help me.'

As she thought to herself, she realized that she had never learned the zebras name. She just keep on calling her that zebra could she? ' Oh well,' she thought, ' when I am found I will ask her her name.'

As she walked back home, she noticed a new set of paw prints on her trail. 'Huh, don't tell me I am going to have a repeat of yesterday!'

However when she got home, she noticed that the timber wolf, instead of hiding in the bushes, was sitting on her welcome mat, looking at her front door with the plant in its mouth.

She said out loud in her trademark raspy voice," So, we're doing this again? Just like yesterday?"

It yelped in surprise and turned around, looking at her with a look that said ' really?'

She laughed and plucked it from its jaws and walked inside her house. The Timberwolf tried to follow her in but she closed the door. After the wolf stubbed its snout after hitting the door, he gave out a howl.

Three more timber wolves walked out of the bush. Then a timber wolf that was bigger than the other walked out and stared at the thing keeping them out from their alpha.

He was thinking to himself ' Door keeping us out, lets alpha in, figure out how to get pass wood portal. Wait, idea '

He barked at one of his smaller brothers, telling him his plan. The dog nodded its head and ran off, carrying out his omegas orders.

Omega then stared at the door thinking ' Soon, you will have entire everfree, alpha, I swear by wolf pack. '

They then slunk back into the bushes, waiting for the time to be with their master.

Ponyville

14 days after the interlude

As she gazed out from the tree line, she saw ponies rushing back and forth with baskets of apples, banners, and other things.

She laughed to herself at the ponies scrambling. Did they not know how silly they looked?

She then heard a flapping of wings, and saw a chariot being pulled by two pegasi, holding a blue unicorn, and a purple dragon.

Upon seeing the unicorn, she felt a sharp stab of pain in her head, and winced. She held a hoof to where the pain had started and growled softly.

' That pony looks familiar, but why? Is she in a memory a haven't gotten back yet?'

She thought ' Oh well. I guess I can just ask the timber wolves what they know about her. They seem much more cooperative these days anyway. Maybe I can convince them to let me lead them.'

She decided to follow them to see what else she could find.

She saw the dragon and her talking, and walking. As she stalked them from the tree line, they suddenly ran into a pink earth pony.

As soon as the blue pony, Trixie she had learned was her name, the pink pony gasped, jumped into the somehow breaking the rules of gravity, and ran away.

' Well, that was, unusual. Better keep an eye on her should she ever come into the forest.'

The pony then trotted back to Trixie, and stared right at twilight. She narrowed and started to hop over to her.

'Buck, she saw me!'

Twilight scrambled back into the security of her forest before she was found.

TRIXIE POV

" But spike, i have to find the elements of harmony! The fate of equestria could depend on me finding them!"

Spike just stared with a deadpan look and said " So the fate of equestria depends on you finding some old gems, that only exist in a fairy tale, and, lets pretend they are real, you would have no idea where to even start looking."

Trixie just gave him a glare and turned around.

When they got touched the ground, Trixie felt like she was being watched by something. She then continued to argu with spike about the elements when she ran into a pink earth pony

" Just say hi to her."

Trixie sighed, held out a hoof and said " Hello, my name is Trixie."

The pony gasped, jumped into the air and ran off.

" Well, that was, interesting."

Before she knew it, the pink pony walked back over, still in the air, looked at some nearby bushes, and started to hop towards them.

She saw some rustling, and suddenly the feeling of being watched disappeared.

She continued on to her other duties, but that feeling of being watched returned and never quite left until she had entered the library.

What she didn't notice was a pair of curious lavender eyes, watching her every move.

' One way or another, I will find out who you are.'

The burning

As she reached the inside of her cave, twilight came to a stop and shut the door. She then took off her cloak and turned towards the front of her bed.

Her mattres was lifted and a simple wooden chest with a latch was taken out.

When she opened it, she took out a bottle of nightmare moon ale, one of the strongest ales she had, and thought to herself ' Got to drown out those pesky memeories. Dont want to remember.'

As she drank, one bottle became three, and those became nine.

As she fell into inky darkness, she somehow knew her memories of that day would make an apperance, like it or not.

FLASHBACK

AS twilight hopped around the room, she thought to herself ' Todays the day. I am finally going to take the test to be accepted into canterlot school of higher magic for foals!'

AS she hopped around the the room, she saw her parents giving her little smile and shakes of their heads.

As they walked to the school, her mother saw her panicking and reasured her daughter that she would do fine.

When they reached their destination, they were shown to a small room with a few chairs scattered around. in one of these chairs was a small blue unicorn filly, fiddiling with a hat that was two sizes too big for her. To try to calm down, Twilight decided to go talk to her.

She sat next to her and said " Hello, my name is twilight sparkle, whats yours?" The filly gave a look of disdain and said " Please leave Trixie alone. Trixie does not want to be bothered."

As she squirmed in her chair uncomftorbly, she heard a voice call out her name.

She gulped and walked into the other room, with her parents trailing behind her. When she entered the room, she saw a dragons egg in the middle of it.

She glanced at the testers, and was told " You must use your magic to hatch this dragon egg."

She lit up her horn and poured magic into the egg, but saw no difference, and after a few minutes was starting to get tired. Suddenly, there was a loud boom outside and her horn sparked to life. With a crackle, a feeling of her horn being on fire , and a painful yell, a surge of magic flooded the room. Everfree vines grew everywhere, her parents were turned into stone, and the building was ripped apart.

Suddenly, she saw a tall, white figure with wings and a horn. She thought to herself ' The princess. The princess will save me and make things right.' But instead of her saying she had come to help her, she got two simple words. With an i'm sorry, the sun unleashed its power on the poor filly and launched her out of the building. The last thing twilight remembered after that was flying, and a mass of trees coming to meet her.

END FLASHBACK

She was awoken with a large boom sound, and feel off of the bed. As she crept outside, she saw fireworks in the distance.

"Their summer sun festival must be starting," she thought bitterly. As she stared at the moon, she saw the image of the mare on the moon vanish and evil laughter coming from ponyville. She sighed and said to the air " What did those ponys do now?"

Death of a nightmare

As she walked towards the edge of the forest, she felt a large source of magic coming from the edge of ponyville. She then saw several ponies running towards the other side of the forest and let out an annoyed groan.

As she tracked the mares on their journey to who knows where, she saw a trail of dark smoke and could tell that was the source of the magic.

When she caught up to them, they where fighting a manticore that anyone could clearly see was in pain.

She gave a sharp whistle to get it's attention, but it must have not heard her, and moved into position to slash the yellow in half. Suddenly, she pulled out a thorn out of it's paw, and it commenced to lick her face.

Twilight stared at the scene below her with a wide eye. ' She was being licked, on the face, by a manticore. Yep, I have seen everything.'

As they continued on their way, they soon reached a broken bridge, and when the blue one went to the other side, she could feel the large amount of magic again, and heard voices.

Just then, she heard a snap and saw a pack of timber wolves behind her, watching the mares. She looked at them and whispered " What are you doing here?"

One of the wolves looked at her and said " Omega said to follow you, help you keep eye on intruders, follow alpha's orders." She looked at him and said" Alpha?"

The blue soon came back, so she said" Look, just follow me and don't make a sound."

As they followed the ponies, they quickly ran into a invisible wall, that she dispersed within a few minutes.

After she entered the old, crumbling castle, she saw a tall, black mare with wings and a horn being surrounded by rainbow light. There was a flash and a smaller, blue mare was thrown onto the ground while the black one was screaming in pain.

TRIXIE P.O.V
Trixie stared in shock as nightmare moon yelled " Fools, you think that separating Luna and I will save you? Now you will all die!" She then lunged faster than Trixie could react. She closed her eyes and waited for death, but instead heard a wet squeltch sound and a small gasp of pain.

When she opened her eyes, she saw a sword had been lodged into the stomach of nightmare moon. As she collapsed onto the floor, Trixie looked around and saw a cloaked figure with a soft lavender light above their head.

It suddenly let go of the sword and stepped forward towards them. It said in a raspy voice " Stay out of my forest, and stay out of my home." As if to punctuate her point, several timber seem to appear out of thin air behind her and give various volumes of growls. Rainbow charged at her , but was forced back by a wolf leaping in the air, it's jaws snapping shut.

She yelled " Who are you?" The cloaked figure looked at her for several moments and said " I am phoenix blaze, and you are unwanted guests. Get out," she said with a snarl.

She then seemed to melt into the shadows of the old castle, with the timber wolves following suit. When Celestia arrived, there was only one question on her mind.

' Who was that?'

Cries in the forest

A few days later after the nightmare incident, Twilight was walking home from the timber wolf cave when she heard two young voices call " Help!" She rushed to the source of the noise and saw two young fillies being attacked by a manticore. After a flash of magic, the manticore fell to the ground with a hole where it's heart should have been.

She smiled at the fillies to try to calm them down, but only succeeded in scaring them, screaming at the top of their lungs. She sighed and was about to walk away when she saw a young unicorn that had a long cut on her leg. It was starting to bleed badly, so she grabbed some vine and covered the wound. She then slung the young filly onto her back, much to the protest of the unicorn, and started to walk to ponyville.

After a while, she heard soft snores and knew that she had fallen asleep. As she reached the edge of the forest, she had a quick mental debate about just dropping the filly off here, or taking her into town. She decided she would go into town, but she would have a disguise. After a flash of magic, in her place stood a blue mare with a purple mane.

As she walked into town, she saw a white unicorn with three gems on her flank, rushing around, asking if anyone had seen Sweetie bell. She walked over to the distraught mare and asked " Excuse me mam, but is this the filly your looking for?" The unicorn said " Yes, thank you so much." She used her magic to pick up sweetie bell and put her on her back. She then turned to twilight and said " Please, why do you come visit me? I am sure sweetie will be more than happy to say thank you for bringing her back to me." Twilight quickly said " No, I really must be getting home. Thank you for the offer though." With that she teleported away.

SWEETIE POV, THREE HOURS LATER

As sweetie woke up, she saw a piece of vine wrapped around her leg. As she tried to sit up, she felt a sharp stab of pain, and was almost immediately crushed by a wall of white.

As rarity cried and told her that she loved her, she had one question that she wanted an answer to. "Rarity, where's the mare with one eye?" Her sister looked at her in confusion and said " Sweetie, the mare that brought you back here had two eyes, not one." Sweetie said " No, the mare that found me in the forest had one eye."

Rarity looked at her and asked " Sweetie, please describe this mare." Sweetie shifted uncomfortably and replied" She had one eye, had a horn, and had a cloak on." Rarity suddenly looked worried and said to her " Sweetie I need to go talk to some friends. Can you please stay here?" "Ok," sweetie said, and rarity rushed out of the room. A few minutes, she heard the door open and get slammed shut.

After she left, sweetie had one thought. " Me and the girls need to find this mare, and I need to thank her for saving us. Hey, Maybe she can teach me magic."

After rarity gathered her friends at the golden oaks library, she started the meeting by " Thank you all for coming here. As you all know, earlier Applebloom and Scootaloo ran out of the everfree forest screaming about a monster.When asked what they meant, they blabbered about how they were being attacked by a manticore, but a monster that looked like a pony killed it. They described it as a unicorn mare with one purple eye, and a cloak around it. Later on, Sweetie said she was rescued by a mare of that same description, and that sounds just like the pony who killed nightmare. That means that she lives somewhere in the everfree."

Trixie said " We need to find her," And they shared theories about where they thought she was and how they thought they could get to come out. Little did they know that there was a timber wolf lisinting to there every word.

celestia and luna interlude

As Celestia munched on her breakfast, she gave a small chortle as her sisters head rested on the the pancakes that she was supposed to be eating, her horn having impaled one. She reached over, bobbed her nose, and woke her up by licking maple syrup off pf her cheek. Luna woke up with a start, looked around, settled her gaze on celestia, and glared.

Celestia then spoke in the best trolling voice that she could muster and said " Good morning luna. Did you have a good night, blasting nightmares of chickens, bunnies, and bears?" Luna grumbled " Don't forget that accursed fox. We especially hate him, jumping out at us, and running where the others only walked."

After she removed the pancake from her horn, and a few minutes of silence, Luna spoke up and said " Sister, we actually have something else to share with thou." Celestia smiled and said " Sure luna, fire away." Luna took in a breath and said " After we were about to exit the dreamscape last night, we came upon a door that had two cutie marks. One was of them was a purple star with five smaller white stars around it. The other one was also a large purple star, but it had a everfree vine wrapped around it. They were shimmering in and out of existence, like they could not decide which one would hold dominance over the dream. When i opened the door, there was a solitary eye, and when i tried to touch it, it opened. A voice said ' Get out of my head ' and used vines to cast me out. Have you had any visions lately?"

Celestia replied no, but thought back to her visions from last night.

When Celestia opened her eyes, she did not expect to see what she was seeing.

She saw her persanol army, the solar paladians, trying to pull trender vines off of several buildings in canterlot. After a while, the scene changed and she saw her army fending off a huge army of nocturnes, timber wolves, hydras, manticores, scorpios, and other creatures of the everfree. She saw herself going hoof to claw with a large green hydra with her battle armour on, and her best sword, suns fury, at her side.

Just as it looked like they were starting to win, a shadow popped in front of celestia, and knocked her back. It was luna, but she did not have her usual armour on. Instead of dark blue, and black, it was instead a mix of pale blue and vine green. Wat was strange however, was the symbol on her chest. It was a brilliant cresent moon with a trender vine wrapped around it.

Luna bared her teeth, and spat " This wouldn't have happened if you had left us alone, but now, you must die!" Just as she was about to raise her sword, she heard a raspy voice saying " She is mine." Luna nodded, backed away with a sadistic smile on her face, and let a mare in dark green armour step forward. The mare had a eye patch over her right eye, and her sword shone with a brilliant light.

She leaned towards her and whispered " You should have left us alone." She slit celestia's neck, and everything went black.

She heard discords voice saying " If you cannot stop this civil war from happening, then i will,and i won't play around like last time. Tick tock celestia, time is running out."

She woke with a start, gasping for air, panting. After several minutes, she had one thought, ' I can not let this come to pass.'

She brought her attention back to the present. She took her dirty dishes to the sink, and said " Luna, you tell Cadance about your dream. I will tell trixie. With those two working together, i am sure that we can we will get to the bottom of this."

As she headed to the throne room to start her day, she thought to herself ' I also promise i won't let my visions come to pass, even if i must kill this mare in the everfree.'

a suprise visit

As twilight woke up, she got out of bed, stretched, and felt the warm lantern light on her face. She thought ' You know what? I feel like nothing could go wrong today.' After a second she realized her mistake. ' Fuck.'

IN DIMENSION X

Murphy sat on a chair of souls in agony, laughing and slapping his knee. After a time he calmed down enough to yell " You fucked up!"

BACK WITH TWILIGHT

As she slammed her head on the rocky wall, she heard a voice call out " Uh, alpha what are you doing?" She turned to see omega standing in the doorway, and replied "I did something stupid omega. That's all that needs to be said." He laughed, but quickly adopted a serious face. "Alpha, we have a situation. A white unicorn filly followed one of our spies from ponyville."She froze mid yawn, and stared at him.

Closing her mouth, she asked " Is the filly a white unicorn?" "Yes alpha, she is having breakfast in the garden. Why, do you know her?" As she trotted out the door she gave him a quick glance. " Yes, and I thought she would have enough sense to stay out of a forest where most of the creatures want to kill her and eat her." He looked at her and asked " Should I put some tea on the kettle for when you return?" She smiled and said " Would you? That would be lovely." She then walked out. Omega sat down, shaking his head, and muttering " Ponies."

SWEETIES P.O.V

As she looked around the garden, she noticed a strange blue flower, and a sign that said ' DO NOT TOUCH!' As she raised a hoof, she heard a voice call out " I wouldn't do that if I were you." She gasped , tried to turn around, and fell on her flank. The mare in front of her laughed, and used her magic to pull her up.

The mare said to her in a raspy, almost whispering voice " Hello sweetie. May I ask, why are you back in the forest?" Sweetie looked up at her, and said " I wanted to thank you for saving me from the manticore." She looked down, and grumbled more softly" I tried to get Applebloom, and Scootaloo to come with me, but they were too scared of the timber wolves, or another manticore finding us." the mare looked at her and smiled. " I can't speak for the manticores, but I know that the timber wolves won't hurt you."

She was lifted onto her back, and the strange mare said " Well, I should probably get you home." "Wait," sweetie yelled, and the mare took off of her back, set her down, and asked " Yes, what is it?" Sweetie shuffled her hooves, and asked " Can I see what your home is like?" the mare thought for a second, and teleported them both to a small cave filled with what seemed like hundreds of books. She gasped, and looked at the titles of the books. " Advanced magic volumes 1-4, how to teleport, a cooking book, What do you need all of these books for?" The mare gave a slight shrug, and said " Light reading." Sweetie kept on looking at the titles when she realized that she hadn't asked for the mare's name. She looked at her and squeaked " Um , miss, I just thought about it, but I never got your name." The mare looked at her and said " Phoenix. Call me Phoenix." She eventually said " Ok miss phoenix, I'm ready to go home." She got on her back, and watched phoenix teleport them to ponyville.

TRIXIE P.O.V
She tried to calm down a panicking rarity with words such as " I'm sure she couldn't have gone far", or " She will be alright, we'll find her." She heard a bell ringing from the front of the shop. She sighed, and yelled " The shop is closed!" She heard a voice call out " So you don't want the filly I found in the everfree?" Rarity seemed to fly out of the room at that comment. Trixie then heard a groan, and a crunch of bones. As she stepped into the other room, she saw rarity letting go of a unicorn mare. She had a dark blue coat, a purple mane, orange eyes, and a needle for a cutie mark. She had never seen this mare before, but for some reason she seemed, familiar.

She trotted over to her and said " Thank you miss..." The mare smiled and said" Needle point. Call me needle point." She said" Thank you miss needle point. I don't mean to seem rude, but if you will leave, we have a few questions we want to ask miss bell." " No problem. I have to get back home anyway. Bye sweetie bell." "Bye miss needle." As she left, Trixie once again had that feeling that she had seen that mare somewhere. " Where do I know her from?"

TWILIGHT P.O.V
As she teleported home, she saw omega growling at something behind her, and turned around. She saw a very familiar zebra balancing upside down on a staff. ' Showoff.' As she was about to speak, the zebra woke up, and leapt off her staff. After she stared at twilight for what seemed like an eternity, she said " Hello pony who tries to hide. For you ,I have looked a long time." Twilight mentally sighed and thought to herself ' This is going to be a long day isn't?"

Crusaders unite! Part 1

As sweetie belle woke up, she gave a lazy yawn and stretched her hooves. When she jumped off the bed, she heard a crunch as she landed on a piece of glass. She remembered last nights activities and thought ' So last night wasn't a dream. If it wasn't a dream, what type of magic did I use? You know what, it is way to early to be thinking about stuff like this.'

As she shambled down the hallway, she tripped on the rug right before the stairway, and started to fall down it. When she reached the bottom, she landed on her face and gave a groan of pain. She heard hooves on the tile, and Rarity asking " Are you alright Sweetie?"

Sweetie said in a low groaning tone " Face hurts. I am going to rip that rug apart fiber by fiber, and laugh evilly while doing so. It shall be glorious."

Rarity gave a chuckle, picked her off the floor and then commenced set her in a chair. She saw golden scrambled eggs, perfectly browned toast, and perfectly cut orange slices. As she raised a forkful of eggs, the heat and the taste woke her up.she quickly started to devour the food in front of her

After several minutes in silence, she ran about, gathering her saddlebag and lunch. As she started to sprint out the door,Rarity called out with a worried expression " Sweetie, you know that if anything is wrong, anything at all, you can tell me right?"

" I know. I'll see you later sis," and with that, she ran out the door. As she ran out onto the dirt road, she caught sight of Apple bloom sitting on a fence right outside the school house. " Hey Apple bloom!"

Apple bloom Turned her head, and hopped off the fence. " Hey Sweetie. Hey, have you seen Scootaloo?"

Just as Sweetie was about to reply, a blur of orange whizzed by. Scootaloo swerved to a stop, and took off her helmet, her hair falling down around her neck. Frowning, she shook her hair, returning it to its spiky state.

" Hey girls. What's up?"

Applebloom replied " Hey scoots. Now remember girls, we're meeting in the clubhouse after school to see what kind of cutie marks we an try for."

"Blank flanks like you shouldn't deserve to have a treehouse. Only normal fillies should have them."

Scootaloo sighed at the regrettably familiar voice, and turned towards the culprit. " Hello Diamond. Did you need to fill a bully quota for the day or something?" She then looked to her sides, and didn't see her usual henchmare. " Hey, where's Silver Spoon?"

Diamond grinned " Oh, silver? She's around."

Just then, Sweetie head scootaloo fall to the ground, with a smirking Silver Spoon walking backing towards a laughing Diamond.

AppleBloom angrily Yelled " What the hay was that for!?"

Sweetie Bell growled at the bullies, and she felt her anger return at not being able to defend her friends. The cold feeling returned, but this time there were voices that went along with it.

' Summon us, and we will make your problems go away. 'Suddenly, one voice in particular stood out from the rest.'Use us, and we will rip those two into shreds!' After hearing this, the others went silent for a second, but quickly returned, agreeing with it, and saying similar things.

Just as she was about to give in, Scootaloo picked herself up, got on her scooter, and said " Come on girls, lets go." As they walked away from the laughing bullies, scootaloo gave an angry groan. " I wish somebody would put them in their place."

Apple bloom gave a sly grin, and said " I bet you wish a certain dragon would help you, huh?"

Scootaloo blushed heavily and stammered " Me and spike are just friends. Besides," she asked almost sadly " doesn't he have a crush on Rarity?"

Sweetie bell decided to put in her two bits and said " Yeah, but I bet if some pony by the name of Scootaloo were to show him that she doesn't return his feelings, he would be very grateful, maybe crush grateful?"

Just as Scootaloo was about to reply, they heard the school bell which meant they only had a few minutes before school started. " Drat!" Apple bloom spat. " When school is over Scoots, we are continuing this conversation."

As they ran, Sweetie bell heard that voice once more. 'You may have refused to summon us this time, but make no mistake. One day, you will use us, and on that day, you will bow to the queen of the everfree.'

As they sat down in their desks, mrs cherilee marked their names on the roll call. She smiled and said" Hello class."

The class droned back " Hello ms cheerlie."

She gave a maternal smile, and announced " Since today is national safety day, we will be learning about the everfree forest."

The class started to whisper about rumors they had heard. " I heard that hydras shoot lasers out of their eyes! I also heard from my sister that there is some kind of monster that lives in the everfree that looks like a pony."

Ms Cheerilee cleared her throat and said " Class." With the colts and fillies ignoring her, she tried again a little louder. " CLASS." she still got no reaction. Finally, she yelled angrily " CLASS!

The little children turned around to face their red faced teacher. As she calmed down, she cleared her throat and continued. " First we will be learning about manticores." As she droned on, Sweetie bell laid her head on her desk. ' This is going to be a long day.'

As the school bell realesed the colts and fillies for reccess, Sweetie ran out with Scootaloo and Apple Bloom, intending to play on the swings.

As they talked idly about plans to get cutie marks, they noticed that Diamond tiara was talking to Dinky, and that Dinky was crying. They looked at each other, jumped off the swings and rushed towards the scene. As they got closer, they could hear Diamond saying"... At least I'm not the daughter of a RETARD!" Dinky, after hearing that, broke down in sobs.

As they were about say something, Rumble jumped into the fray. " Hey, leave dinky alone!" He shouted while hugging Dinky. " He then started to murmur " Hey, it's going to be alright. I'm here."

Diamond gave a groan, and said " Why do you stick around her? She's the daughter of a retard and yet, you insist on being her colt friend. Why have her when you could have me?" Diamond then threw her head back, and tried to half lid her eyes, failing miserably.

He looked at her and sneered. " I would rather be the colt friend of some pony who's mother you call a retard, than the daughter of a spoiled brat."

After hearing,that diamond let loose a scream, and lunged at Rumble. As he tried to push her off, her hit her face as she was clawing at his stomach. Apple bloom tried to pull them apart, but when Diamond's hoof hit her face, she jumped at her.

Scootaloo ran to get ms Cheerilee, and Sweetie went with her. When they reached her, she looked at them and asked with a sigh," Let me guess, Diamond Tiara is picking on some pony again." Sweetie almost yelled " And she's fighting with Rumble and Apple bloom!"

As Cheerilee rushed out to the schoolyard, she saw that the other students had formed a ring and were shouting " Fight! Fight! Fight!"

Cheerilee broke through the ring, and pulled them apart! " Stop this instant!" As she looked at each of them, she saw that rumble had several lumps over his eye, and that diamond had some cuts on her lip. When she looked at Apple bloom, she wasn't surprised to see that she only had one or two bruises on her legs and face. She turned to the three offenders and yelled"You are all serving detention today and tomorrow and will have to tell your parents exactly why that is. Now, go inside while I write your detention slips."

As they slinked inside, Applebloom went over to Dinky, and gave her a quick hug. She then trotted inside the school house, sneering at Diamond all the while.

As the school bell rang, letting the colts and fillies free, they gave loud screams of joy. As Sweetie and Scootaloo walked out, Cheerilee called out to he pair of friends " Don't bother waiting up for Applebloom. She is going to be here a while."

Sweetie turned to her friend and said " So, what do you want to do today?"

Scootaloo pondered this and said with excitement " Let's meet whoever your seeing in the everfree!"

Sweetie stuttered and said " What makes you think I'm meeting anyone in there!"

Scootaloo rolled her eyes and said " Come on sweetie bell, for the past few days, I've seen you go into the everfree for hours on end. So, who is it?"

Sweetie bell sighed, and said " If I show you who I'm meeting, you can't tell any pony ok?"

Scootaloo said solemnly " I pinkie promise not to tell any pony about who you are meeting." There was a roll of thunder in the background.

Sweetie said " Follow me." As they walked Scootaloo looked around.

" Uh, Sweetie bell, I don't see whoever we are looking for."

Sweetie said with a much more mature tone, " Just wait. She'll be here any second now."

Suddenly there was a loud flash of light and Phoenix stepped out of the shadow of a nearby tree. " Hello Sweetie Bell." She said warmly. She then took notice of Scootaloo and asked " Hey, I know you."

Scootaloo stuttered " M M M Moster!" She then passed out on the ground.

" Well that could have gone better."

Night Vixen

Feral power- celestial, lunar and heart interlude

As she walked up the tower to her room, she sighed in anticipation of the long bubble bath she was about to take. As she opened the door to her room, she was bonked on the head by a scroll.

' I wonder why Trixie is sending me a letter this time of night? ' She set the letter down on the table, and quickly took off her crown and golden slippers. ' I guess that bubble bath will have to wait a minute. '

She opened the letter and started to read.
" Dear Princess Celestia, we have found out from fluttershy's animal friends that the mare that calls herself Phoenix blaze is in a part of the everfree that is close to the old castle.

We suspect that she has also saved a filly known as Sweetie Bell and dropped her off to a friend possibly or an associate, who would bring Sweetie back to rarity. If you could please research a ms Needle Point, that would help our efforts immensely.

Other than that, we have nothing else to report,other than that the next time ms Needle Point shows up, we were going to have Pinkie pie and Rainbow Dash shadow her.

Yours truly, Trixie lulamoon."

Celestia put her hoof on her chin and pondered her students letter for a second. ' So, does this mean what I think it means? If so, I may have to keep this away from Cadence and Shining Armor, or they will think this Phoenix knows something about Twilight.'

After thinking for a second, she called out for one of her guards. When he came rushing in, she said " Please fetch Luna. Tell her I need a favor."

A few minutes later, she heard a knock on her door. " Sister, thou requested an meeting?"

" Come in Luna." As her sister walked in, Celestia noticed that she was wearing a simple dark blue dress. She said with a smile " Oh Luna, did you go on a date like i recommended?"

Luna replied " Yes, and while we did not take a romantic interest, we have made a friend among the nobility."

" That's good news. So," she said leaning forward, " who caught the eye of my sister?"

Luna replied with mirth " The one called Fancy Pants."

Celestia quickly shook her head and said " Anyway, I called you in here for a reason. I just received a letter from Trixie."

Luna sat down on a nearby cushion and said " Is it regarding this Phoenix mare?"

" Yes, it is. From what I can tell, it seems that Phoenix lives close to the old castle. They also think that she has an friend called Needle Point."

Luna put a hoof on her chin in thought and said " I don't recognize that name, but I can look in the medical archives for a needle point and this, Phoenix Blaze."

" Would you? That would be a great help."

As Luna got up, she said " I will be back when I have information."

While Luna walked out the door, Celestia called out " Thank you!" She heard the door close, and was left alone once more with her thoughts.

As Luna walked down the hallway, she saw Cadance walking with shining armor. She called out " Hello Cadance! How are thou doing?"

Cadance rushed towards her. " Auntie Luna, I'm doing just well. What are you doing?"
Luna hugged her niece, and said " We are doing a favor for Tia, researching some things in the library. "

Cadance asked " Mind if we join you? We were bored and decided to take a walk, but I think helping you would be much more interesting."

Luna pondered this for a second " Thou may join us, we see no reason why not."

As the party walked down the hallway, Cadance asked " So auntie, may I ask what we are looking for?"

Luna replied " We are looking for anything related to any pony called Needle Point and Phoenix Blaze."

After walking for a few seconds, Luna noticed that her two companions had stopped walking. She went back and saw that shining armor had a glassy look in his eyes. She looked at Cadance and asked " What is wrong? Is it something I said?"

Cadance looked at Luna, and said sadly " It's nothing, we just think that this Phoenix Blaze may know something about where Shining's sister, Twilight Sparkle, is. Now that you've mentioned her, that makes us want to help you even more."

Luna nodded and said " Ahh, we understand. In fact, we will help you look for her if that is any consolation."

Cadance nodded and said " Thank you, that means a lot to us."

When they reached the library, Luna walked up to the reference desk. " We wish for all articles related to a pony named Needle point."

The librarian said " Very well your majesty. Do you need anything else?"

" Yes, please bring out anything about a pony called Phoenix blaze. "

Her horn lit up, and she cast a searching spell. After a minute, she muttered " Huh, that's weird. Here let me try again." Her horn lit up once again, and she recast the searching spell. Once again, it came back empty. She turned to the princess, and said " Sorry princess, we don't have any records on the two ponies you asked for."

" Is it possible that it just may be at another medical archive, or a library?"

The mare shook her head and said " That's not possible. Every time a hospital or Doctor,or nurse updates their patients profile, they make two another copy on top of the ones they already make to send it here. After all, we are the main library, so unless it's been tampered with, these ponies just are not in the system."

Luna was quiet for a second, and said with an eerie calm " Thank you for your time. That will be all."

As the group started to walk back, Cadance asked her aunt " Aunty Luna, what does this mean?"

Luna let out a sigh, and said " It means, that we will be paying Trixie a late hour visit. Please go inform my sister that I will be back in time for tomorrow's Night Court, and that I was not able to find anything useful on the subject of Phoenix Blaze, or Needle point. "

" Should we meet up with you at ponyville after we deliver the message?"

" No, this is something I should do on my own. I will be back tomorrow."

As Cadance walked down the hallway to her aunt Celestia's room with shiny , she felt anger that she hadn't been kept in the loop by Celestia. Luna was alright, seeing how she must have thought that her sister had told her, but she needed to be kept informed! Despite her inner anger, she gently tapped the door.

" Come in." She heard a voice call. With a calming breath, she opened the door and walked in. " Oh, hello Cadance, how are you doing?" She saw her aunt reading a book and prepared herself for the ensuing argument.

Cadance said in an annoyed tone, " Auntie Luna said she couldn't find anything on either of the mares, and that she was going to ponyville to help Trixie's efforts to find her. By the way aunt Tia, why wasn't I informed that we had figured out where she may be? You had no right to keep it hidden, and no good reason."

Celestia coolly set her book down, and replied to her niece " Actually, I did. If I had let you help, you would have at one point or another tried to go looking for Twilight again. I know you two miss her, but this mare needs to be found so that we can make sure that she is not a threat. " Cadance started to argue but Celestia said " Phoenix is the mission, not Twilight. If you two can promise me that you won't go looking for her I will let you on the team, but otherwise, you can forget about it."

Shining armor took a step forward and said " How can you say that? I may not know where she is, but I can feel it in my bones. She is alive, and if we have to go over your head to find her, we will!"

Celestia looked at him with fire in her eyes and said with ice in her words, " Get out. When your emotions aren't clouding your vision, we will talk further about this. Until then, stay away from this."

As Cadance walked out, she yelled behind her " This conversation isn't over! Not by a long shot!"

When she heard the door close, she sighed and muttered " When is it ever over?" She took out a scroll, and started to write a letter back to Trixie.

As Luna flew through the air, she was glad to feel the cool night air rushing through her fur. She had always enjoyed flying more than she had casting spells, and as a result, in the old times, she had led a massive flight over Equestria once a year with her nocturnals, or those who could fly anyway.

She sat down in front of a huge oak tree and knocked on the door. As it opened, she saw a friendly sight. " Good night Trixie. How are thou?"

" Oh, hello princess. I actually got a scroll from princess Celestia saying that you would be coming to help us in our search. Please, come in."

As Luna walked in, she saw that the other element bearers were groaning sleepily.

Rarity looked up and said with a yawn " Hello princess," her eyes fluttering close. As she realized who she was talking to, they shot open, and she rushed to Luna's hooves. " Princess!" She exclaimed while kissing her shoes. " I'm dreadfully sorry for speaking to you like that. I must be more tired than I thought I was!"

Luna chuckled and said " Nay, you are with a friend. We do not take offense."

Trixie returned to her spot and said " Anyway, as we were saying, we have covered most of the everfree except for some small areas in the north part." She then turned to fluttershy and said " Fluttershy, do your animal friends have anything to report?"

Fluttershy partially hid behind her mane and said " Uhm, only that a certain pack of Timberwolves are starting to turn purple. They aren't sure why, but they said it started a few weeks ago."

Luna pondered this for a second and said " We have heard of this before. When a magic user takes control of a magic based animal, the base color of the creature changes to show their alliegence to their master. It was useful in old times when warlords used armies of such beasts for their war efforts."

Luna suddenly flicked her ears in annoyance and said " Who is panting so heavily? It is annoying."

Trixie stared at her and said " Princess, no one here is panting. What are you talking about?"

Luna froze for a second, and teleported outside. When she teleported back in, she had a purple Timberwolf in her grasp. She threw it down on the floor and yelled " It's a spy!" She lowered her head and blasted it against the wall. She slowly walked over to it and said " Tell me wolf, do you serve the one we seek?"

Applejack looked at her and said " Uh, princess? You do know it can't talk right? It's just a Timberwolf."

" Yes I do, Night Vixen. And please tell the apple farmer to not speak of what she does not know.

Applejack froze. " Did, did it just speak?"

Luna said " Yes, it did Applejack. Only those who have a master can though, not regular wolves." She turned her attention back to the canine. " So, you were spying on us? Maybe I should take you back to canterlot, and interrogate you there."

Do what you will Night Vixen, I fear the Alpha more than I fear you."

Luna smirked. " We will see how far your fear goes. Trixie!"

Trixie snapped to attention." Yes princess?"

" Due to this turn of events, we must leave. Fear not though, for we will be back tomorrow. Please keep us informed on how things go."

She grabbed the Timberwolf and teleported away in a flash of dark blue light.

Fluttershy quietly asked " So, what do we do now?"

Rarity replied with a flick of her mane " I say we all go to bed. Some of us do need our beauty sleep."

Applejack rang out " I agree. I have work tomorrow, and Big Mac won't buck apples all by himself."

Trixie sighed and said " Alright, we will take tonight and tomorrow off. I guess we all need some rest."

As they called out their goodbyes, Trixie stumbled the stairs, and with a tired groan yelled " Spike, I'm going to bed." With that, Trixie fell into the inky darkness of sleep.

As the dark figure ran across the hill he saw his partner standing at the top. He asked in a gravelly voice " Well, what took so long?" The first figure removed his hood to show blank blue eyes. " I have an important message for the queen!"

" What is it? You know queen chrysalis doesn't like to have her time wasted."

" Trust me, she'll want to her it." He took a deep breath and let it out. He then looked back up at his partner, hope glimmering in his eyes. " I found the Queen of the Everfree."

Crusaders unite! Part 2

As Scootaloo woke up in bed, she let out a tired groan. ' Man, that was some weird dream. I thought that Sweetie belle went to the forest and met up with a monster.' As she looked around, she noticed that she wasn't in the club house where she usually slept. ' Uh oh, this is bad.' As she started to panic, she heard hoof steps right beyond a simple wooden door. With a whimper, she hid underneath the bed and prayed to Celestia that the monster wouldn't find her.

The door creaked open and she heard a familiar voice. " Hey Scoots, you awake? I brought you some biscuits and grapes." She heard a faint smacking sound, like lips being wetted. " If you don't want them, I'll eat them." Scootaloo crawled out from under the bed and stared at her friend.

" Sweetie bell? What are you doing here?"

" Yeah, it's me, and as to why i'm here, that's a long story .Can you please come out from under the bed? I promise to explain everything."

As Scootaloo crawled out from under the bed, sweetie set the plate down and sighed. Sweetie started with " It was right after the manticore." As Sweetie told Scootaloo the rest of her tale, she noticed that her friend was being unusually quiet. When Sweetie bell finished, she tapped her friend who looked deep in thought.

Scootaloo said " Sorry Sweetie, just having to take a moment to take all of this in. I mean, from what you just told me, you can control vines, and are friends with a mare that killed Nightmare Moon, the demon who wanted to plunge Equestria into darkness. Did I forget to mention that said mare controls timber wolves!"

" Don't forget the mare can also wield vines." Suddenly,they heard the door opening, and Scootaloo saw the mare with one eye. Phoenix walked over to her slowly, and said with the best smile she could make " Hi. Scootaloo, right? Sweetie bells told me a lot about you. My name is phoenix, and the plan for today is dropping you two today. Personally, I wanted to drop you two off yesterday, but you were out cold."

Scootaloo then felt herself being picked up by magic, and was set on Phoenix's back. " Let's go. We aren't getting any younger." As they walked out the door, Phoenix called " Beta, your in charge while I'm gone."

As Rarity sat calmly in a chair, Apple Jack was freaking out for here. " I don't get why you haven't gone to look for her Rares! I mean, she's your sister!"

Rarity drank a sip of tea, and said " I just need to wait. That Needle mare will bring her back in about a minute or two if she wandered into the Everfree. Do you remember the plan for when she comes?"

Apple Jack sighed and said " Yea, I remember. Pinkie and Rainbow Dash will follow her, and Needle will lead to Phoenix. I just can't see why she can't hurry up. I'm tired of all of this waiting."

As soon as the words had left Applejack's mouth, they heard a knock on the door. Rarity whisper yelled at Applejack " Remember the plan." She then said out loud "Come in." The door opened, and Sweetie Bell trotted in. "Oh, good morning Sweetie bell. Did you spend the night at ms needles?" She then looked behind sweetie, but did not see who she was looking for. " Sweetie bell, where is ms Needle? I wanted to talk to her about something."

Sweetie bell turned to her sister and said " She was just dropping me off. What's for breakfast?"

Rarity gave a look of determination to Applejack and said " Applejack, darling, will you please watch Sweetie bell for me? I want to personally give ms Needle my thanks for continuing to return my sister to me." She opened the door, and trotted out into the busy street. " I will be back as soon as I can. Ta-ta!"

As Phoenix walked with Scootaloo in the market, Scootaloo turned towards towards the older mare, and asked " Can we get a hayburger? I'm starting to feel hungry." As if to punctuate her point, her stomach gave a mighty growl. They walked over to a restaurant, and placed their orders. Just as soon as they got some water, they heard a familiar voice.

"Mrs Needle, is that you?" Rarity trotted over. Once again, I must thank for making sure my sister is safe. You have been so kind lately, and I just wanted to thank you."

Phoenix put up a fake smile, and said through her teeth, " Thank you. I'mean glad to make sure she gets home safely. After all, a young lady shouldn't be in the Everfree ALONE, should she?"

Rarity caught the emphasis and gave a sheepish smile. " She shouldnt, but sometimes it's just so hard to keep her on a leash, you know? Besides, my friends Pinkie pie and Rainbow Dash wanted to throw you a party. It going to be on friday. You should really come. It wouldn't do for the guest of honor to not come to her own party."

Phoenix got up, and saw that while they were talking, Scootaloo had eaten her burger. " Come on Scootaloo." She then turned to Rarity, and said " I'll think about it."

With that, she walked away.

After Scootaloo asked to be dropped off at her school, she left her there, confident her home wasn't far from there. She was walking on a path to the Everfree, minus her disguise, when Omega ran out of the treeline. " Alpha, we have a situation."

Phoenix groaned and said " Why is everybody coming in here these days!"

As she walked back to her cave, she saw that several other Timberwolves were having a stand off with something that looked like ponies. Upon closer inspection, they resembled insects, and had holes in their hooves. There was a big one standing calmly in the center of the creatures, just sipping something that looked like tea.

The moment it saw her, it set it down and walked over to her. It then extended a hoof, and said " Hello. I am Queen Chrysalis. Can you spare a minute of your time to have a little talk?"

Phoenix raised her hoof and said " Hello. I am Phoenix. What do you want?"

Chrysalis smiled. " Straight to the point. I like that. Before I ask, can we move somewhere more comfortable? I have been waiting outside for a while, and would like to sit down somewhere that isn't dirt."

Phoenix warily opened the door to her cave, and let the queen follow her inside. Phoenix walked over to her kitchen and put some tea on the kettle.

" So, you said your name is Chrysalis?"

" Yes. I am Queen of my little hive. The reason I came is to ask you if you wouldn't mind letting us live in this forest of yours."

Phoenix gave her a confused look, and said " This isn't my forest."

Chrysalis gave her a blank look,and said " You are the alpha of a Timber Wolf pack, you have a base," She waved a hoof around at the cave, " and the Zebra is an ally of yours, giving you pretty much full reign in this area you've made. As far as I am concerned, you are the boss of the forest."

She decided to walk around the cave, and saw a huge library. " That, is a lot of books."

Twilight stood in the doorway with a smirk, and said " It took me three years to get all of these. I will never part with one. I put too much effort into sneaking around, and making a new disguise each time."

Chrysalis shook her head, and said " Anyway, I'm getting off track. Do you mind us being neighbors. We would live in that old castle, the crumbling one with vines and plant life everywhere."

Twilight thought for a second, and siad with a shrug of her head " I don't care. Do what you will. Just don't attack ponyville. I really don't want to have to deal with a full investigation coming I here, and screwing up my life."

Chrysalis gave one of the rarest things she had on the planet, a genuine smile. " Thank you. It's relaxing knowing your not going to try to kill us."

" No problem." She led the changling queen out of her house, and said " Welcome to the Everfree. We hope you enjoy your stay." With that, the wolves walked into the house, and she shut the door.

Hi. Sorry for taking so long, but between a collab and school hitting me like a truck, I've been busy. So here, have this as my apology for being unattentive.

The Party

It was Friday, the day of the party. Phoenix was getting ready in front of a mirror she had in her room, when Omega came up and said " Alpha, do you need to go?

" Unfortunately, I do. If I don't, then that pink pony will come looking for me and trust me, we do not want that pink one coming here because she will ruin everything."

He grumbled " I still don't like it. We can't look like ponies so I can't have them follow you to protect you."

She looked at him and said " By the way, I always meant to ask you, if your called Omega then how did you get the other Timberwolves wolves to follow you?"

" Used to be part of biggest pack in forest. One day, pack found you. Leader challenged you, thinking you were a waste of space. You killed him, making you the new Alpha. Ones that stick to old ways declared you new Alpha, but newer generation didn't want a pony leading pack. Broke off into smaller packs. I was most dedicated to old ways, and made many enemies. I was given the title as an insult, never to lead another pack, or at least, never one lead by another wolf."

She smiled and said " Well, i'm glad that you are here with me to keep these the minions in check."

" Shouldn't you be getting ready for that party?"

" Actually," She said as she finished cleaning up her hair, " I'm finished." She turned to leave. " Tell the rest of the pack I'll be back in about an hour."

As she walked along the path to the tree, she thought to herself ' Now where did Rarity say the party was going to be? Right, in the library. Now where would that be...' She looked around and saw that a sign was in front of a tree house that said library. ' That's convenient. Almost too convenient.'

She pushed open the door, peeking around. " Hello, anybody home?"

The lights flashed on, with ponies jumping out from behind every available surface. " SUPRISE!"

She panicked and let loose a spell. It went over their heads and crashed into one of the lights above, incinerating it.

The others slowly turned their heads to the light, then back to her. She gave a sheepish smile and said " Oops?"

pinkie pie then jumped in front of her and said " Wowie, what a light show. Again, again!"

As soon as she said that, the party started to regain its former atmosphere, ponies laughing and drinking punch. Several came to meet her, but she sent them with a quick hello and expressing her desire to find rarity.

She saw the white mare over by the stairs, and quickly trotted over to her.

" Hello Rarity. I'm suprised that so many ponies showed up. I mean, I'm just little old me."

She laughed and said " Don't be ridiculous darling, once Pinkie pie heard about you she demanded that we host you a party. Besides, she never knew when you first moved in, and Pinkie dear knows everyone." At this point, her grin had a silent tone to it, like one you would give to someone you don't like, not one bit.

" Well, as much as I have been enjoying myself, I am afraid I really must be getting home. Don't want to keep my pets waiting."

" Oh, before you go, why don't you meet my friends?"

She pulled Phoenix over to the side of the tree house where a group of mares were chatting. " Needle, these are my friends Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie pie, and Trixie."

Trixie gave a awkward hoof wave, and said " Hello. I'm new to town. Have you been here long?"

Phoenix said " I guess you could say that. What about you?"

She blushed and said " No, I actually just moved here."

" Oh, i see. Anyway. as i was telling Rarity i really need to be going."

" Stay, enjoy the party. It would be rude for you to leave when not Everypony has had a chance to meet you."

Phoenix gave a suspicious glare, but finally relented. " I guess I can stay a little longer."

Applejack grinned. " That's the spirit. Now go meet some friends!"

As Phoenix walked away, Applejack grew a frown on her face and said " Well, I didn't feel like she was lying when she said she'said been here awhile, or about her pets. She's real vague though. I don't like it, not one bit."

Trixie sighed and said " Well, all we can do is keep an eye on her."

" We should get back to the party. Don't want to look suspicious."

As it wound late into the night, Phoenix was finally able to leave the prying eyes of the library and return home. She took a different path so that they would not find her home in case they followed her, an d soon reached the door of her cave. She sighed, and thought ' Knowing my luck the past few days, somebody is going to be in there. Just watch.'

She pushed open the door and stepped inside, looking around to see if anyone had come in. ' Huh, i was wrong. Seems no one-' She rounded the corner to her library to see Chrysalis sitting on the floor with one of her romance books in her hooves. ' Do i feel like dealing with her right now? No, i'll deal with her in the morning.'

She quietly walked up to her bed, and got in. She mumbled to herself " Tomorrow will be better." She then drifted off to sleep.

As sweetie bell sat on her bed reading the book she had borrowed from phoenix, she found herself fascinated by the spells the book held. 'Advanced telepathy, multi layer shields, teleporting, this book has everything.' She sighed and put the book under her bed, and pulled out a smaller book. ' Not yet though, i have to get the basics first.' She looked at the book she had pulled out a made a face. The bright yellow cover, and the sickeningly sweet pictures of happy foals made her grimace, but she opened it anyway.

Several minutes later, she was still struggling to lift the small hoof mirror she had set down in front of her. She fell back onto her haunches, panting with the effort she had just put out. As she sat down, she thought back to that day in the forest when she and her friends where being attacked by the manticore. She remembered feeling helpless, and anger at not being able stop it.

As her anger rose, she heard a crack, but paid no attention. Her anger then gave way to a feeling coming from the floor. She saw the mirror and lashed out, wanting to rip it apart. Suddenly, two green blurs appeared in front of her, and the mirror shattered into hundreds of small shards. She jumped back in surprise, and looked at where the feeling was coming from. To her suprise, she saw two vines, not too unlike the ones from the everfree. She willed one to move left, and it did. She then willed them to go back, and them disappered, going back through the hole in the floor.

She looked in shock, and decided to not tell rarity about it. Luckily, she had supplies, that she had snuck up earlier in case one of her experiments went wrong, to fix it in her closet. After fixing it, she slid back into bed. 'I'll find phoenix. She'll know what happened.' After a few seconds, a thought occurred. ' Maybe, she can even teach me how to control it? I'll ask her tomorrow.' With that thought in her head, she drifted off to sleep.

1: Home and timber wolves

Feral power, timber wolves
As she walked back to her cave, the young unicorn noticed paw prints on the trail she was on.

'So, the last time I made an example of one of them wasn't good enough huh? Ok, the next timber wolf I see dies, slowly and painfully, having vines tear him apart.'

When she got home, she noticed some herbs that looked like they were torn out of the ground with a sword in front of her door. ' Who in their right mind would pull them out like this, they are in all sorts of pieces.

She slowly turned her head around in a circle and noticed a pair of yellow eyes. When she was facing the bush she heard a low growling noise.

She tensed up and ran several reminders through her head.

' Remember, head up, horn forward, feet apart, and aim for the head.'

The wolf slowly walked out of the bush, but made no sudden movements toward her. It made a gesture towards the leaves with it's head, and sat down slowly, keeping its gaze on her face the entire time.

She looked back at the torn up herb, and said out loud in a raspy voice" You want me to take these?"

The wolf nodded its head up and down.

She then levitated the plant into the cave all the while keeping an eye on the wolf.

When she had the plant inside, she slowly said " Thank you." The timber wolf nodded its head and ran back into the bush.

After it was gone she thought to herself, ' Well, that was, interesting to say the least. Must study this kind of behavior and see if this type of thing will happen again.'

As she walked into her home, she did not notice the group of curious yellow eyes watching her every move.

Interlude 1- Celestia

As Celestia looked out over the nobles that were complaining about a land dispute, she was bored out of her mind, ands was just waiting for the time to start today's lessons with her student.

Suddenly she heard a gong, letting her know day court was finished for now.

As she raised herself off her throne, she announced " Day court is over for now. Please come back tomorrow is you have a case scheduled."

As she walked into the classroom, she saw her student trot towards her. She smiled and asked " Hello Trixie, and how are you doing today?"

Trixie smiled and replied " Hello teacher, i am doing well. Also, the therapist was able to help me stop talking about myself in third person. He eventually just showed me how I was talking, and it sounded quite ridiculous."

Celestia smiled and said " good, I am glad he was able to help you get rid of that."

She then gave a little smirk, and said " Now only if we could do something about that ego."

Trixie gasped in mock horror" Me, having an ego? You tell such wonderful story's dear teacher."

As Celestia gave a chuckle at her student antics, she noticed Trixie had a slightly serious look on her face.

" Princess Celestia, who is sunset shimmer?" Celestia's laugh died out, aa d she had a grim look on her face.

" She was a student I had not long before you Trixie. However, she wanted power and heads grown impatient with her teachings. She left one day and has not returned, and I have left her room open should one day our paths cross again, no matter how different they have become."

She then sighed and said " But enough of past mistakes. Did you finish the assignment I gave you?"

Trixie grinned like a Cheshire Cat and said " Yes, and I found the theory behind shields fascinating. But when will we learn how to do fireworks?"

Celestia smiled and said " Soon Trixie, soon. Now open your text book to page 697."

Celestia sighed as she collapsed into bed.

Her student question about sunset shimmer was bringing up memories of others she had failed, Luna being at thee top of the list.

' Luna, how did I fail to see what was happening to you? And sunset, I showed you your destiny too soon. And twilight sparkle, I couldn't save you. I only hope that you broke your neck when you fell, and that you weren't alive when the timber wolves started to get to you.'

However, what she failed to notice as she was thinking about her past students and her sister, was that the stars in the sky were getting closer to the moon, and that if you listened closely, you could almost hear terrible laughter. The laughter of a nightmare.
