Pinkiepie said, she was flying in a hot air balloon. She was going to be the announcer for the 56th year,'"Pegasus Race." This year, there were 6 contestants. Rainbowdash, Twilight, Fluttershy, Derpy, and Blossumfourth. Rainbowdash had to push and pull to get Fluttershy to finally come! "Welcome to the 56th year of the Pegasus Race! I am Pinkiepie, your host and announcer! Woo hoo! Let's get to our contestants! Number one, Rainbowdash!" The crowd cheered, and somewhere in the distance Rainbowdash heard, "Go Dash!" That sounded just like Scootaloo. "Number two, Princess Twilight Sparkle!" The crowd cheered and screamed, "Yay! Go Princess!!" "Number three, Fluttershy!" Only a couple cheers were heard. Mostly every pony laughed, Fluttershy let tears flow down, but covered them with her hair. Rainbowdash saw this and flew up, "Com'on every pony!! I can't hear you! Fluttershy, Fluttershy!" Everypony cheered, "Fluttershy, Fluttershy, FLUTTERSHY CAN HARDLY FLY!!" Fluttershy sighed. Rainbowdash rolled her eyes. "Number five, Derpy!" The crowed laughed and cheered. "And number six, Blossumfourth!" The crowd cheered. "And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, LET THE RACE BEGIN!!" Everypony flew into the air as fast as they could. Fluttershy was behind everyone, and she was slow, too. She tried flapping her wings hard, but it was no use. Then she thought about her friends, and how happy they'd be if she won. So she flew, flapping her wings hard! She caught up with everypony else, and passed Derpy. She still needed to pass Blossumfourth, Twilight, and Rainbowdash. Then, she saw Rainbowdash slowing down. Raibowdash flew beside Fluttershy. "What are you doing?" Fluttershy asked. "Giving you some confidence," Rainbowdash answered. "When you're up front, I want you to fly faster than I could!" "But I can't!" Fluttershy said. "Flutters, you CAN. We'll all be so proud of you if you do!" She looked at Rainbowdash and said, "Let's do this!!" "OK!" Rainbowdash excitedly said. Rainbowdash took hold of Fluttershy, she flew fast. Really fast. Rainbowdash threw Fluttershy very far. Fluttershy flapped her wings really fast, and there it was! The finish line! Fluttershy flew faster than ever, but she could see Blossumfourth catching up on her. "Oh no," she whispered. Her eyes started to water, her wings started to sting, and she was one step away from crossing the finish line, when she fell. She fell straight down, and Rainbowdash suddenly passed Blossumfourth and won, like always. Rainbowdash turned around and flew to Fluttershy. "Flutters, are you OK?" Fluttershy couldn't answer. She felt to sick, or hurt, she wasn't sure how she felt. "I don't.." "There, there, Fluttershy. The ambulance is here. Will meet you at the hospital," Twilight confirmed. Twilight and Rainbowdash took off, side by side, and glided to the hospital. "I hope she's alright," Rarity said. Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes, to see herself sitting in a hospital bed with two broken wings. "Fluttershy! You were amazing out there!" Rainbowdash said, hugging her. "I-I was?" Fluttershy asked. Applejack smiled, "You got second place!" "What?!" Fluttershy asked, "How?" "Well," Applejack said, "When you fell, Rainbowdash crossed the finish line. Then your hoof touched the finish line!" Fluttershy smiled, "Thank you for believing in me!" "Of course!" All of them answered. "Alright, Ms.Shy needs some rest, you must go now," the Nurse said, coming into the room. "Feel better," Twilight said. "Have a nice day," Rarity said. "Get some rest," Applejack insisted. "HAVE A FUUUN TIME!" Pinkiepie yelled. Just before Rainbowdash left, Fluttershy grinned, "Thank you, Rainbowdash," "For what?" Rainbowdash asked. "For entering me in that race," she smiled. Rainbowdash smiled back. The next day, Rainbowdash and Twilight came to visit Fluttershy. "How ya doing?" Rainbowdash asked, hugging Fluttershy. "I don't really know," Fluttershy answered. "I don't know how to feel or think about things," Twilight nodded, "I understand completely!" Fluttershy was stunned, "You do?!" "Of course," Twilight answered. "But I think you need some rest," "No!" Fluttershy responded, "I don't need-" Fluttershy suddenly fell asleep, she was very tired. "Should we come back tomorrow?" Rainbowdash asked Twilight. "Yes," she answered. "I have a story to tell her," That night, Pinkiepie and Applejack had a plan to sneak Fluttershy out of the hospital to deal with the Vampire Bats that had came back. "OK," Applejack said, "Are we ready?" Pinkiepie laughed, "Yup!" Applejack grinned, "Then let's go!" "Here we are..hmmmm, FLUTTERSHY'S room spotted!" Pinkiepie yelled. "How do ya'll know that?" Applejack asked. "Just do," Pinkiepie said, grinning. "Alrighty, we're in," Applejack said, climbing in the window after Pinkiepie. "FLUTTERSHY," Pinkiepie whispered loudly. "FLUTTERS!!" Fluttershy yawned, "Oh, hello Pinkiepie and Applejack. WAIT! What are you two doing here? And how'd you get in?" "Listen Fluttershy," Applejack said. "The Vampire Bats are back, and I need you to do the stare on them. 'Cuz Twilight probably still remembers the spell." "You in?" Pinkiepie asked. "Well," Fluttershy hesitated. "OK, if you insist. I'll go." "Oh, no you won't!" The Nurse said, coming into the door. Applejack and Pinkiepie gulped, "Oh no." //-------------------------------------------------------// The Last Pegasus Race //-------------------------------------------------------// The Last Pegasus Race "What do you think your doing?!" The Nurse asked. "You can't leave yet!" "I'm sorry!" Fluttershy said. "I'm so sorry! I never meant-I just-" "It's not her fault!" Applejack admitted. "It's ours, Pinkie and I's. And we're sorry. We-" "You're not allowed to visit your friend anymore!" The Nurse answered. The Nurse was furious. She just wanted them to get out so Fluttershy could rest. She would be able to leave the next morning. Applejack and Pinkie were escorted out. "AND DON'T COME BACK!!" The Nurse yelled. For the rest of the night, Fluttershy rested peacefully. "G'morning Ms.Shy!" The Nurse said, waking in with a clipboard. Fluttershy yawned, "Goodmorning Nurse Lily." Nurse Lily smiled, "Did you rest well?" "Oh, yes! Yes, yes!" Fluttershy said, grinning. "Well," Nurse Lily said. "Today's the day you leave!" Fluttershy whispered, "Yaaaaay!" Fluttershy soon was leaving. All of her friends came to her house and they had a party that she was OK. "Hey," Rainbowdash said. "Guess what?" "What?" Fluttershy asked. "I signed you up for another race! And it's TODAY!" Fluttershy gasped. "Hello everypony! It's me Pinkiepie, and welcome to the best race of the year! The Pegasus Flyer Race! We have three competitors! Fluttershy, Derpy, and Blossumfourth. GOO!!" Fluttershy flew and flew very hard and fast. She suddenly passed Derpy, and it was so much wind Derpy fell to her doom. Fluttershy felt bad, so she swooped down, grabbed Derpy, and she was back in the race! Fluttershy was in second place, and she was almost right beside Blossumfourth. Fluttershy's heart beat quickly. There was the finish line, it was clear as the eyes can see. Fluttershy and Blossumfourth were right beside each other. Fluttershy was confident, very confident. Blossumfourth go in front of Fluttershy, and Fluttershy wanted to quit. But she couldn't, not now! The finish line was right in front of them, and Blossumfourth was about to go past, when Fluttershy zoomed past her and won the race! "WOO HOO!! FLUTTERSHY!!!!" Spitfire walked to Fluttershy. "Fluttershy," she said. "That was AMAZING!!" Fluttershy blushed. "Awe, yea!" Rainbowdash yelled, hugging Fluttershy. "I want you to be a WONDERBOLT!!" Spitfire said. Rainbowdash gasped. Fluttershy gasped. What should she choose? "Well," Fluttershy studdered. "I-" Rainbowdash nervously smiled, "You-you just totally do it, Flutters!" Fluttershy was scared. If she didn't do it, she would've denied something amazing. If she said yes, she wouldn't know what challenges she would have to face ahead. "Yes!" she yelled. It had just happened, and she had no idea how.
