//-------------------------------------------------------// There Were Aliens In Equestria? -by Obedience- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// This Is Going To Be A Long Day //-------------------------------------------------------// This Is Going To Be A Long Day Rainbow Dash was pacing...or rather, hovering back and forth above the wooden floor of the Ponyville Library. Twilight and Spike are away in Canterlot. They wouldn't mind if their colourful loyal friend, Rainbow Dash, borrowed the library for a while.  After all, it was a public library. A public library with drawers of private letters between the Princess and Twilight. A public library with Twilight's private diary hidden under her pillow. A public library with Celestia knows what other PRIVATE things hidden in it. "Alright everypony. You know why I have brought you here." said Rainbow Dash looking straight in the direction of her hovering, away from the four ponies she had forced to come with her. The four shook their heads. "So, you came here without knowing why I needed you here. Is that right?" continued Rainbow in a sinister military style tone.  The response the four ponies gave her was nodding their heads. One of the ponies spoke up. "Umm... you never told us." Rainbow Dash immediately threw a paralyzing glare the light brown earth pony who spoke. "You never asked." and a smirk formed on Dashie's face. She went back to her hover-pacing. "I have brought the four of you here for a very important mission. It takes guts, bravery, courage and--" "Aren't those the same thing?" asked the mint green unicorn. "Lyra. My sweet little Lyra. There is a reason why you can never qualify to be my pet. Do you know the difference between coolness, awesomeness and radicalness? And you sit funny." replied the cold Rainbow Dash. "Sweet little?! Why you--" "As I was saying.  It takes guts, bravery, courage and... pause for dramatic effect... loyalty." "Nailed it!" thought Dashie. There was an awkward silence. Rainbow didn't expect this. She actually forgot what to say next! But the silence didn't last very long. "Uh... so why are here again? Are there muffins? Yay! I love muffins!" asked the absent-minded but lovable Derpy Hooves. "Uh, I was about to come to that, Derpy. We are going on a rescue mission. 'Who are we going to rescue?' you may ask. Well, that's a simple question. But, the answer to it is far from... complicated. Yes, a simple answer to a simple question. And that simple answer is--" "Can I go now? I gotta get back to the clinic by 2 o' clock." interrupted Col-- Woah! That's some sparkling white teeth! "Ugh! Will you guys stop interrupting my awesome speech!? Okay, inhale... exhale. Alright, back to the simple answer thing. Now, that simple answer is none other than... pause for dramatic effect again... the Wonderbolts." The four ponies were shocked as if the word "Wonderbolts" was a bolt of lighting striking them. "Oh come on! Don't you guys ever read the news?" asked Dashie. "How do you keep up to date with society?" A flurry of impractical answers were given in reply to Rainbow's last question. "This going to be a long day." //-------------------------------------------------------// Persuasion //-------------------------------------------------------// Persuasion Chapter 3: Persuasion First Written: 2nd June 2012 Rainbow pulled down the screen and turned on the projector. It's a new projector. Twilight had made sure this projector was much more reliable than the one Spike used when Dashie was briefing the pegasi of Ponyville about lifting the water from the lake into Cloudsdale. Displayed on the screen was a map of Equestria. Rainbow Dash pointed towards a city labeled 'Las Pegasus'. Her four companions in the library immediately diverted their attention to it. "The Wonderbolts were scheduled to arrive here from Canterlot. I would have been there but it's been very cloudy here in Ponyville over the past few days." said Dashie as she hovered next to the screen. "But they never arrived in Pegasus. However, they did leave Canterlot. There is only one possibility. And that is--" "They went missing on the way?" poked in Colgate. "Hey! I thought we talked about this! No interrupting when I'm being awkward." replied Rainbow Dash. "Excuse me? Awkward?" "Huh? Oh! Hehe... sorry 'bout that folks! No interrupting when I'm being AWESOME. Now, let's get back to the Wonderbolts." Rainbow Dash pointed at the desert surrounding Las Pegasus. "They probably went missing somewhere here. And we are going to find them." Lyra raised her hoof. "Wait, we are going WHERE?! That desert is like, totally not anywhere near Ponyville. We haven't prepared anything. And since when did we agree to go on this trip?" The other ponies nodded in agreement. "Have you forgotten who's lives are at stake here? It's the Wonderbolts for Celestia's sake. If we pull this off, each of our dreams could come true. I can join the Wonderbolts! Lyra can study humans! Colgate's clinic will make it big! Doc Whooves can time travel in a DeLorean instead of an old police box! Derpy can... make lots of muffins! Now, does that change your minds?" "Yeah!" the three ponies shouted. Wait a minute, three? Oh, and Derpy went something like "Yay! Muffins!" "Awww yeah! Winning!" thought Rainbow as she giggled to herself. //-------------------------------------------------------// It's Definitely Going To Be A Long Day //-------------------------------------------------------// It's Definitely Going To Be A Long Day "All aboard!" shouted the train attendant. The five courageous, brave and loyal ponies with lots of guts set off on their journey into the desert to find the missing flight team. Each of them brought along two saddlebags. Rainbow Dash was proud of the progress she has made so far. In her saddlebags, she had with her the Equestria Daily paper from that day, a knife (magically enchanted to only be able to cut plant and non-organic materials) and some other necessities for a desert trip. She turned and saw Derpy, cross-eyed as always, Colgate OMIGOSH SPARKLING TEETH!, Lyra in that awkward sitting position and Doctor Whooves, fanatising about owning a car-time machine. Unknown to each other, they all shared they same thought. "Best rescue ever!" ~~~~~ The trip from Ponyville to Las Pegasus took about a day by train. Rainbow began to wonder about how long can a pony survive in the desert without water or food. But this is the Wonderbolts we're talking about! They are world-class athletes! They can take a little hot weather right? Rainbow Dash looked out the window and her eyes were set upon the expansive dry burning desert. "That looks like *more than a little hot** weather. I knew I should have packed some rain clouds!"* Feeling worried and uneasy from that last thought, Dashie got back to planning their trek in the desert. Even though it was in the middle of the day, her friends had already gone to sleep. They were going to have a long day tomorrow. ~~~~~ Rainbow and company arrived in the Las Pegasus train station in the wee hours of the morning. "Attention!" shouted Rainbow Dash in her military tone. "Seriously, Rainbow, that's getting a little old." commented Colgate, her teeth still seemingly glowing white. "Okay fine. Fine. Now, we will start by going along that road there." said Rainbow as she pointed towards an asphalt road that was covered in so much dust and sand it might as well be part of the desert. "What about breakfast? Are there muffins! Yay! I love muffins! Especially muffins for breakfast. I love muffins!" "I think we have already established your undying love for muffins, Derpy." replied the colourful pegasus, rolling her eyes in boredom to Derpy's repeated phrase. "Anyway, yeah, we'll have breakfast before we set off to rescue our missing fliers. So, we go along the dusty road and--" "Morning! Ahhhh... that was a good snooze! What's for breakfast?" cut in Lyra, who was still asleep throughout the first half of the conversations. "Again with the ARGH! Okay, I'm not going to bother answering that question! Ugh, we go along the dusty road and--" "Sorry but we're kind of running out of time here. The Wonderbolts are still missing you know." said the Doctor, wearing his green tie. By now, Rainbow Dash was feeling like the time Twilight turned into a fire pony from trying to understand Pinkie Pie's pinkie sense. That was bad. "You're telling me. I've been trying to make this as quick as possible. So just stop STOPPING ME!" Everypony else fell silent. The other ponies around the station turned and looked at Dashie. "I knew it was going to be a long day." //-------------------------------------------------------// Adventure! //-------------------------------------------------------// Adventure! Unlike the bright neon lighted casinos all over the city, no restaurants open for business so early in morning. The five had their breakfast at Sugarcube Corner. The Cakes had started building chain stores. They hired a yellow-maned mare named Surprise to manage the bakery in Las Pegasus. "That pony is eerily familiar." thought Dashie. The sun rose and its soft light fell on the dusty ground. Rainbow held a map in her hooves as her wings took the role of moving her forward. She turned the map around, desperately trying to make sense of all the arrows and lines that dotted the piece of paper. Awww forget this! she thought as she put the map back in her saddlebag and took out her pPhone. She tried to access Giggle Maps but there was no ponynet connection. "Come on Rainbow Dash! This is a *DESERT*. There isn't any connection here!" said that little voice in her head. Dashie looked at the surrounding environment. It's still morning and the desert heat wasn't too bad yet. She thought again about the Wonderbolts chances of survival. It was not the happiest thought you could have. "No time to lose! Let's get out there and rescue those ponies!" An encouraging thought had entered Dashie's mind at last. ~~~~~ "I still don't see them! I'm tired." said Colgate. "You're not the only one." thought Rainbow. "Wait, sorry Rainbow Dash but have you thought this over? We've been walking along this road for the past 2 hours. I don't think the Wonderbolts are on this road. Shouldn't we be like, searching for a safe place where the Wonderbolts are able to survive in? Like, an oasis?" pointed out Lyra. Damn! She's right! Why am I so stupid?! Ugh. "Damn! She's right! Why was I so stupid to not think of something like that?" said Doctor Whooves. "T-that's a good idea, Lyra!" said Rainbow quickly as she desperately attempts to save herself from embarrassment, shame, humiliation, mortification, wounded pride, etcetera, etcetera... Lyra shot the rainbow-maned pegasus a look but Dash ignored it as if she were too awesome for shame. ~~~~~ With her glorious eyes, the Glorious Rainbow Dash watched out for signs of her target's survival. Her glorious brain scanned the information perceived by her glorious eyes. And when she had gloriously obtained what she gloriously wanted, she would have a glorious feast! Together with her allies who assisted in her glorious achievement, in the glorious dining hall within her Glorious Levitating Cloud Castle of Glory! She... couldn't find any trace of her heroes. There wasn't very much in the desert. A few plants here and there and some rocky cliffs. Some holes in the ground indicated the presence of Diamond Dogs. This desert is not exactly the best vacation spot. Well, its also not the most ideal place to be lost in and waiting to be found without any food or water or any form of defense. Nor is it especially great to be the one doing the finding even with food and water and some form of defense. (Lyra and Colgate are unicorns with magic, Doctor Whooves is a time traveller, Dashie is the fastest flier in Ponyville and Derpy... has muffins? Doesn't that make them so non-vulnerable-to-hostile-beings-of-evil-intent?) //-------------------------------------------------------// Lemons //-------------------------------------------------------// Lemons "Rainbow Dash." Uhhhhmm.. "Rainbow Dash." Hubbleuh weeuh zzzzz... "Wake up Rainbow Dash." No I wanna uhhhh... "Wake up." One... more minute mom... "Rainbow Dash!" "Wha!" Rainbow Dash rises abruptly and clumsily from her sleep. She is still in the cave, but is wasn't dark anymore. Though the Princess of the Sun standing in front of her would be a reasonable explanation. "Princess Celestia!" Rainbow bows down out of instinct at the sight of royalty. "No need for that, Rainbow Dash. I see your friends are still... sleeping. But it's good that they're unhurt." The Princess speaks in her usual soft and motherly tone. "You have been... chasing your dreams quite literally?" The Princess giggles at her own joke. "What? Oh uh... yeah. Is it something we should be laughing at?" Rainbow Dash replies. "Oh of course not! The Wonderbolts are just as Equestrian as all of us. I would not let anything untoward happen to them. Them being missing is a grave matter. But I'm sure they would be safe, after I had seen you here, searching." Says the Princess with a warm smile, generating a strange pleasant atmosphere. "Yeah but now we're lost and stuck in this maze of a stupid cave." Rainbow Dash says with a little tinge of frustration at her team's situation, kicking a little dust up from the ground. "How'd you find us here, your majesty? And how did you get here?" " A locator spell and teleportation aren't exactly the hardest spells to perform for even for a filly. Twilight told me about your little rescue mission." Princesses work in mysterious ways. Rainbow Dash opens her mouth to ask another question but Princess Celestia speaks first. "Well, I have to return to Canterlot now. I wish you all the best. Be sure to bring your friends and the Wonderbolts back safe. But first, let me get you ponies out of this place." And with a flash out bright yellow magical light, Rainbow Dash and her four companions were back in the dry desert, with Las Pegasus slightly visible in the distance. Dashie looked around, but the princess was no where to be seen. "Mur... mumm... muffins?" Rainbow turned around to see Derpy wake from state of unconsciousness. The others also began to wake in groans and moans. The show (and search) must go on. //-------------------------------------------------------// Not-so-wonderful News //-------------------------------------------------------// Not-so-wonderful News There Were Aliens In Equestria? ~~~~~ "WHAT THE HAY?! Nonononono! This can't be happening!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash. Fortunately, there was nopony around to be made deaf by the series of voice cracks. In Dashie's hooves was the Equestria Daily newspaper. She stared down at the paper again with her eyes opened wide, as if she could change what the headline read. WONDERBOLTS GO MISSING She gulped downed the entire glass of water that had been patiently waiting on the side table. Her heroes... are missing? No, it couldn't be! She began reading the paragraphs following the taunting headline. Fans of the Equestrian flight team, the Wonderbolts, were eagerly waiting for their heroes to arrive in the grand city of Las Pegasus. However, many were disappointed as the famed flight team has yet to arrive in Pegasus. Bill Moneybags, manager of the Wonderbolts, said he had been with the team when they took off. However, being a unicorn pony, he arrived in Las Pegasus via train. Rainbow Dash took in a huge breath of air. Dashie's mouth went into rapid fire mode. "Omigosh omigosh omigosh omigosh!!!" She dashed (okay, pun intended) out of her cloud home and into Ponyville. She was going to rescue her heroes. And she needed help. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Roof Of The Problem //-------------------------------------------------------// The Roof Of The Problem "Are we lost?" "No no no of course not! Besides, we have Giggle Maps." "Giggle Maps doesn't work here, Dash." "Well, we're still better off with Giggle Maps that doesn't work than Pear Maps that do. "Do muffins work?" "Hey! Careful, Derpy! Ouch! My wing still hurts from that fall." "Sorry, my bad!" "Nooo! The Flux Capacitor! Argh! Don't get that on my tie!" ~~~~~ The five ponies stumbled around inside a dark cavern. Even with two unicorns with their horns lighted up through magic, the rock walls that surrounded them made every way they went, the wrong way. "This place looked a lot smaller from the outside. I knew this was a bad idea." said Lyra. "You were the one who wanted to take a peep into that hole in the ground. Ah! My wing, Derpy!" commented Rainbow Dash. "My bad!" Lyra looked at Dashie with an annoyed expression. "You suggested that we jump in! You said you encountered Diamond Dogs before!" "I did! And if you hadn't made such a big deal of the hole in the ground, I wouldn't have suggested for us to jump in!" All of a sudden, as if sharpened by the clean edges of the pure material that made up the other unicorn's teeth, these words were heard. It was pretty scary too. "Stop it! Both of you!" Lyra and Rainbow Dash stopped their fiery word battle and turned to look at Colgate. However, before Colgate could say another word, the walls surrounding the ponies began to shake. Stalactites and other rocks started falling from the ceiling. Rainbow Dash tried to evade the stone rain but in a matter of seconds, the entire roof had collapsed.
