chapter 1. The Sonic Rainboom Of Death

It was another beautiful day in Ponyville. The clouds were clear and the weather was perfect for being in the middle of summer. Rainbow Dash was out practicing her sonic rainboom trying to perfect it so she could join the wonder bolts. She took off from the ground hard and as fast as she could gaining an impressive amount of elevation per second. Her wings flapped with long, hard strokes that lifted her easily into the air. She knew she had to be high up to complete her task but this time she didn't just want to create a sonic rainboom. She wanted to go faster so she climbed higher than ever before. She flapped and flapped until it got hard to breath because the air was so thin. Perfect, that means less air resistance. Rainbow Dash stopped and hovered for a second allowing herself to look around. From all the way up here she could see everything but she reminded herself that she did not have time to admire the beauty of it all.

She looked down and took a deep breath and dove straight down with all the wing power she had. Since she had been practicing the sonic rainboom she had improved her wing power from 16.5 all the way up to 21.5 wing power which made her much faster. She accelerated with so much force that she left a vacuum where she just was. Rainbow Dash sped towards the ground at breakneck speed gaining even more speed as she went. The air in front of her started to form what looked like a shield of air. She flapped her wings harder as the air started to crackle around her. At this point she wished there was some pony to watch her awesomeness but she knew there wasn't as she had come out here alone. "Oh well", she thought. "Their loss." She then focused on going faster. The air was streching around her as she approached the sound barrier. "Just a little more." She said pushing harder. "Annnnnnnnnd." BOOM she reached the speed of sound and created a sonic rainboom. But she wasn't done yet. She wanted to go faster. Rainbow started laughing. "Hahaha, this is AWESOME!" She laughed. Then she had an idea. She tucked in her wings and began to spin. Faster and faster she spun until her vision melded into a blur of colors. She had never gone this fast before. She was well past the speed of sound now, but she kept going trying to sate her appetite for speed.

She knew she was fast approaching the ground and better pull up before she became apart of it. "Fine." She said, telling herself that she would have to fly higher next time. She tried to open her wings but to her horror she could not. She tried again but to no avail. The wind had them pinned to her side. Rainbow started to panic, she couldn't see it but she knew the ground had to be close by now. she couldn't be more than a couple hundred feet above it now. She tried again but they just would not move. She was at full panic now as she started to flail around, but as soon as she did she lost control of her spin. She had never felt so helpless in the air before and it really scared her. "HEEELLLLLLP MEEEEEEE!" She screamed, but there was no pony around. She had absolutely no control whatsoever and was not loosing any of her speed. "PLEEEASSSE CAN SOMEPONY HEEEELLLP M. She never finished the sentence.

Rainbow Dash woke up on the ground in the wheat field she had been flying over earlier. She tried to open her eyes but instantly regretted it. A blinding flash of pain erupted at the bass of her skull and moved around her entire head. She closed her eyes and cradled her head in her fore hooves. The pain was starting to subside but any movement brought it back ten fold. There was a slight breeze that ruffled her mane and coat. It felt really good against the suns powerful rays that were warming her flank. The breeze also brought the sent of apples that mixed with the sent of wheat that already hung in the air. It reminded the adventurous pony of the cereal she used to eat as a little Philly. Apple wheaties. The memory brought a smile to Rainbows face, along with it the headache. "Ugh, go away stupid headache." Rainbow said. But the migrane persisted. Dash layed there for at least a full two hours testing how bad the headache was every now and again by trying to open her eyes, but every time she tried she was greeted with a blinding flash of pain in her skull. Rainbow Dash finally gave up and fell asleep.

Rainbow knew she had a dream but could not for the life of her remember it. That was weird, she always remembered her dreams. "Rainbow Dash." The voice was barley a whisper but was somehow insanely loud as it enveloped Rainbow.  Rainbow Dash shot upright onto all four hooves only to pass out from the shock of the pain that enveloped her head as she did so. When she came to she was still in pain but not as much.

"Ohhhhh my head." Groaned Rainbow Dash as she held her head in her hooves. But just talking made it worse.

"Do not move Rainbow dash." There was that voice again.

"What?" Asked Rainbow who still could not open her eyes.

"I do not like to repeat myself Rainbow Dash. I said do not move." If voices had a temperature this one would be ice cold.

"Why?" asked Rainbow.

"I am going to remove your migraine." Rainbow dash did not reply as it would only make it worse. Rainbow then felt a sharp metallic point touch her forehead. "You are going to feel a slight discomfort." Said the ice like whisper of a voice as all of the pain in Rainbows head went to her forehead all at once.

"Ahhh!" Rainbow screamed before she realized that the pain was no longer there. The sharp metallic point was removed and Rainbow was now free to open her eyes.

The first thing she saw was wheat blowing in the wind. Then she noticed four hooves cloaked in black in front of her. Rainbow looked up and stared at the pony in front of her. He was a tall coalt shrouded in a mist of dark blackness with a black cloak moving ever so slightly in the slow breeze. In his right hoof he carried a tall scythe that looked really sharp. Rainbow paled as the realization hit her. "Y- Your D- D- D-." She stammered but could not compleat the word.

"Yes I'm Death." He said nonchalantly.

"But that must mean I I D- D-." Once again she was stuck.

"Yes you are Dead."
