Fluttershy was sitting on the grass, mending the wounds of a caramel coated bunny. The sun was out and there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. The pegasus did a wonderful job. She held the bunny's paw and her hooves to look for any other injuries. A blue thorn stuck out of the bunny's finger pads. Fluttershy thought that he fell into a rosebush or something. She reached over to the first-aid kit and pulled out a pair of tweezers between her teeth.
"Alright Mr. Bunny," Flutter said, trying to speak past the tweezers in her teeth, “This will only hurt a little. But I need to do this to get the thorn out. Are you ready? OK, three... two… one..."
Rainbow was sitting behind Fluttershy, tying a bandage around the arm of a black bear. Rainbow wasn't the best of taking care of animals, heck she had a secret fear of large dragons, but she was element of loyalty and she'd help anypony out. Even if it did mean putting on a dress to help Rarity. Once Rainbow Dash finish tying the bandage, the black bear let out a happy groan and hug her.
"Oh," Rainbow was caught by surprise "Your... welcome?"
The black bear dropped the Pegasus and ran over to a small patch of trees. At the base of the tree sat to bear cubs. They welcomed there mother back with a hug and then they both took off down the dirt road. Fluttershy had put the tweezers back in the first-aid kit and put a small bandage on the bunny's cut.
"There you go, all better. Now, if you ever get hurt again, please don't hesitate to come back and ask for help." She said sweetly.
The bunny hugged Fluttershy's leg then ran off to his rabbit hole at the base of a tree. The two pegasus where alone. Rainbow crossed her front hooves and smiled at the yellow Pegasus in front of her.
“Hey Fluttershy.” She said
“Yes Rainbow?” Fluttershy asked, closing and picking up the first-aid kit between her teeth.
“Now that where alone, I think it’s time I told you something.”
“Told me what?”
Rainbow Dash let out a small sigh “What I truly feel.” There was a short pause
“Fluttershy?”
“Yes Rainbow Dash?”
“I really liiiiiikkk,” Rainbow stretched out the word “kkkedWhat you did to that dragon a couple year back! I mean did you see that look on his face when you stared at him, priceless!”
Fluttershy let out a small chuckle. “It was nothing, really. If you’ll excuse me, I need to put the first-aid kit inside. I’ll be right back.”
Fluttershy made her way over to her house. Once she was inside, rainbow let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. She smacked herself on the forehead. OH COME ON RAINBOW!! The cyan Pegasus yelled at herself in her thought You had the perfect moment! And you blew it! Rainbow Dash let out a long sigh and walked over to the small lake. She looked down, scaring two koi fish. Rainbow saw her reflection rippling due to the koi fish. It made her look… ugly.
“Oh snap out of it,” The rainbow mane pegasus told herself, “Look at yourself! You’re pretty, charming even. And you’re talented. No one can fly as fast as you.”
Rainbow dash flew up and flexed her muscles, “You are the strongest, sexiest pegasus alive!!”
“Yes, yes you are.” Fluttershy came waltzing in behind Rainbow, keeping her head low to the ground.
Dashie stared off into the distance, forcing herself that she didn’t just hear Fluttershy’s sweet voice. She spun around to see Fluttershy looking up at her, waiting for her reaction.
“Fluttershy! Umm… how much did you hear?” Rainbow asked, landing on the ground again.
“The part where you said that you where…” Fluttershy started to walk closer “the strongest, sexiest pegasus alive.” She had grown a smirk on her face.
“It’s stupid I know. But I guess I’ll tell you. No pause. No interruptions. The truth.”
There was a long pause. Fluttershy waited for Rainbow Dash’s response. She looked away trying to gather her thoughts. Some birds decided to sit in the trees and watch the two.
“Fluttershy?” Rainbow asked
“Yes?”
“I, I really, like you.” She whispered, keeping her head low.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t hear you”
“I like you.” Rainbow dash raised her voice a little
“I’m sorry. Could you repeat that one more-“
“I Like You!!”
Fluttershy cringed a little in Dashie’s sudden anger.
“Is that all? You honestly had me a little scared.” Fluttershy said, putting a hoof on her friends shoulder. Rainbow looked surprised
“What? You know or something?”
Fluttershy nodded “Yes. At that sleepover a couple of month ago. You where talking in your sleep about how you were in love with a yellow pegasus. So I put two and two together, to assume that you where talking about me.”
Rainbow Dash let out a groan and took a couple of steps back until her tail meet with a swing. She sat down and rapped her wings around the rope for support. Rainbow faced hoofed.
“I am such a dork. I knew it would be awkward.” Fluttershy walked over to her friend and at her.
“Why is it so awkward?” She asked
“Because, a mare can’t like a mare. It’s been like that for the longest time.”
There was a long pause. The two mare were thinking about what they were going to say. The sun was shining past some of the tree’s leafs leaving spots on Rainbow and Fluttershy’s body. Fluttershy then placed a hoof on the rainbow mane pegasus’s cheek.
“Well. I don’t see anything wrong with it. Many mares like other mares.
“Oh yhea? Name somepony then.” Rainbow Dash said rolling her eyes.
“Umm… Lyra and BonBon. Those two seem to like each other, and nopony seem bother by it.”
Rainbow Dash’s eyes widened. She was right. Those two mares where really close, and no pony seemed to care. Her decision was settled. She would love the pegasus no matter what. She hopped off the swing and hugged her friend. Fluttershy tightly hugged her back. After there hug, Rainbow Dash asked
“Fluttershy? Can I ask you one more thing?”
“Of course!”
“Will you be my special somepony?”
Fluttershy blushed. It spared across her face, but she didn’t seem too bothered by it. She then planted a kiss on Dash’s right cheek. Rainbow looked shocked. The confused look on her face soon turned into a smile.
“Yes Rainbow Dash,” Fluttershy said softly “Yes I will.”
