Everypony thought it was weird that the royal family just suddenly shut down the palace, with no reason whatsoever.
Especially young Twilight.
It was so alike her sister to just shut her out and and the palace as well.
Twilight kept asking her parents for a reason for the sudden shut-out but nopony is telling her anything!
But, every day at 1:00 of the day, Twilight would walk over to her sister's bedroom where Sunset hid out, she would sing.
Can we play, pretty please Sunny?
I haven't see you for so very long.
I love you dearly.
Do you wanna play with me?
We could play with the sand,
But every time she did, Sunset would give the same response of "I'm sorry, Twilight. But I can't."
And as time went on, Twilight soon gave up on trying to play with her sister.
But still, she sang until she heard her older sister's response.
Twilight loved her sister more than anything but wished she could know if her sister felt the same way.
As time went on, Twilight and Sunset soon grew up to beautiful young mares.
But, inside of Sunset's bedroom, Shining Armor and Cadence were often trying to help their oldest daughter keep control of their powers.
"I'm scared! IT'S GETTING STRONGER!" the princess yelled.
"Thinking that will only make it worse, calm down." Shining Armor stepped towards his daughter.
"NO! DON'T TOUCH ME! Please, or I'll hurt you." Cadence and Shining Armor looked at one another with worry.
When the two sisters were at their oldest, their parents were setting off to a trip.
The trip was to travel to the wedding of Fluttershy, their cousin, and her fiance Big Macintosh.
The sisters wanted to visit their cousin but their parents insisted they stay in Canterlot.
When Twilight was going to say good-bye to her parents, she went past Sunset's door.
She sighed as memories came back to her.
Twilight went running into her parents' room, she crushed them in a hug.
"See you in two weeks." her parents returned the hug.
Once their younger daughter finished saying her good-byes, their older one greeted them at the end of the stairs.
Sunset bowed to her parents and whispered "Do you have to go?"
Her father nodded and touched her shoulder.
"You'll be fine, Sunset. You have Twilight and everypony in the castle to be around." Sunset sighed and nodded.
While her parents were away however, their boat ended up sinking, their daughters had no idea what to say.
But only Twilight went to the funeral, Sunset couldn't bother to come out.
Once the funeral was over, Twilight walking to her sister's bedroom sadly, she went to knock on Sunset's door.
Although she was hesitant to do so.
But she eventually knocked on the door.
"
Sunset? Please, I know you're in there. Everypony's asking where you've been. They have courage, and I'm trying too. For I am here for you, just let me in. We only have each other, just you and me. What are we gonna do? Do you wanna play?"
Twilight had tears forming in her eyes.
But she didn't know about the fact that Sunset, who was so sad and worried, had sand and warmth all around in her bedroom.
Playing Around until......
Twilight crept over the side of her sister, Sunset Shimmer,'s bed. She started climbing and jumped onto her.
"SUNSET SHIMMER! WAKE UP, WAKE UP!" Twilight pushed her playfully.
"Twilight, go back to sleep." Sunset said, half asleep.
"I just can't, the sky's awake so I'm awake. So we have to play!" Twilight said, on top of her sister.
"Go play by yourself!" Sunset pushed Twilight off the bed, making Twilight frustrated. Suddenly, a idea came to mind.
"Wanna play beach?" Twilight said, holding one eyelid open.
Sunset awoke, for it was her favorite game.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon!" Twilight dragged her sister down to the ballroom.
"Do the magic, do the magic!" Twilight said, excitedly.
Sunset Shimmer prepared her horn and shoot the magic into the air.
"THIS IS AMAZING!" Twilight galloped around and then her sister said
"WATCH THIS!" Sunset stepped onto the floor and the floor turned to water.
Sunset Shimmer and Twilight started building a sanddragon and Sunset finished it up.
"Hi, I'm Spike! And I like warm hugs!" Sunset pretended to be the sanddragon.
"I love you Spike!" Twilight hugged the sanddragon and Sunset glided them around the ballroom.
She started creating sand mountains and Twilight jumped from one to the next.
But when she came to the last, Sunset hit her in the face, causing her to fall.
Sunset ran to her sister, and saw a magenta streak start became of her hair.
"Twilight? MAMA, POPPA!" Sunset shouted, her parents running in.
"Sunset? This is getting out of hand!" her father, Shining Armor, shouted as he ran across the ballroom.
"It was an accident. Oh Twilight." Sunset said as her mother, Cadence, lifted her up.
"She's a little warm!" Cadence said and looked at her husband.
"I know where to go." the family ran to the royal library and Shining Armor picked a book with his magic.
It showed a pony, lifting magic. It came with a map and the family started running.
Mainwhile, a young colt, Flash Sentry, was nearby pulling a ice block sled.
He saw the royal family going by, with sand trailing, and decided to follow.
He followed them to a special place, where Apples sat.
"Hello? My daughter....." the apples rolled and revealed ponies. "Apple family?!" Flash said.
"Shhhh! Ima trying to listen!" an old, green pony appeared beside him. "Cutie, Ima gonna keep you!" Granny Smith held his check.
"Yer majesty." Applejack bowed before them.
"Her powers, and they're getting stronger." Shining Armor gestured towards Sunset.
Cadence set Twilight in front of Applejack and erased all memories of Sunset's powers.
"She won't remember I have powers?" Sunset said.
"Your powers will only grow. There is beauty in it but fear will become your enemy." Sunset hugged her father.
"She can learn to control it, I'm sure. We'll keep her contact from ponies. And her powers hidden from everypony. Including Twilight."
