They stayed in a five star apartment with the number "#503" labeling their home. The apartment was luxurious, featuring a bight, cream colored carpet, numerous expensive paintings on the wall, drake-skin couches, polished glass tables and a 30 by 15 inch plasma screen television square in the middle of the wall. There was a huge window in the back of the apartment, gifting the residents of #503 a glorious view of the loud city. The kitchen had beautiful white marble tiles and the appliances were all stainless steel. Down the hallway was the room of the parent's son, Derpibra. He had a lustrous white coat with zebra-like patterns, a red, anime-like mane and tail that featured a spikey look, dark red crossed eyes, and wings that looks comparable to Celestia's wings in her youth. They were a little bit more than half of his overall body size. What an unusual size for a pair of wings for a colt. He was quietly coloring in his coloring book on his Wonderbolts bed of Equestria's most dangerous and scary monsters. He was currently working on the most infamous of them: the Manticore. Being the eight year old he is, he had posters of Celestia, Dj-pon3 and Sapphire Shores all over his room, race cars dotting the floor, and Power Ponies action figures on top of his whitewood dresser. The walls were white, the carpet cream, and the door only slightly darker than the room itself. The knob turned, and opened slowly, revealing Derpibra's mother. Magistra,  a unicorn mare who dawned a beautiful sky-blue mane, tail, dawned pink eyeshadow and even hotter pink eyes as bright as the dawn of day. Stallions would still go out of their way to talk to her, despite her always wearing her wedding band when she goes out. Being in her mid-twenties, she was a beautiful mare, even after having a colt. "Derpibra," She started. "Did you remember that Sapphire shores will be making an appearance tonight?" "Yup!" He said excitedly. "I have it marked on my calander! July 28th, 9:00 PM! What time is it?" A smile drew itself on Magistra's face from how excited her only child was. "2:30 PM. But I have to ask..." "Yes mom?" He said curiously. "Why do you like Sapphire Shores so much? She's a fashionista!" She started to giggle, closing the door behind her and finding a place to sit on his bed. "Her clothes always look awesome mom! She's so pretty and talented!" He said, imagining Sapphire in her workout clothes he was lucky enough to see. He accidentally "Wandered" into the dressing room... She saw the look on his face and remembered that mishap he had. He always makes a queer smirking expression when he thinks of that. But how did she learn of that? She let out an amused sigh and rolled her eyes, dawning a smirk all the while. "Boys will be boys." She said sarcastically. Derpibra laughed at that. His mother never minded his pervertedness, she found it adorable in a way or two. "Is that the whole reason why you like her?" She said, retaining that smile of hers. "What? No, don't be crazy mom!" He blushed, obviously lying. She giggled adorably. "Ok, I'll stop teasing." More giggling. "Is there anything you want to do in the mean time?" He contemplated his next move for the day. "Not really much of anything comes to mind. I guess I'll just play Dungeons and Ponies for the next six hours!" He made his way to his gaming PC and booted it up. As the screen faded in, the background on his desktop presented itself. It was a Bugnati, a hyper car manufactured by Fly Pegasi. It was currently the fastest vehicle made by ponies so far. It had bug-like headlights, and a low and profiled construction, and mirrors with lights on the back of them. The fenders had a steep slope to them. What an odd looking car to drive, but at least it had it's own unique style to it. He put in the password "I'm a cross eyed derpy pony", and pressed enter, bringing the desktop before him. He clicked the game and initiated it's launching program, making an edgy medieval chant when it launched. The game briefly checked for any updates, and when done, the game commenced. Magistra watched him play for about half an hour, hearing him make fun of his opponents by coming up with a plethora of nerdy insults: "Ha! You noob!, C'mon, you're not that underleveled! Give me a challenge here!, I'll pwn you noob! Go play the tutorial again, you're bad!" And the likes. He's very competitive isn't he... She thought. "Look mom!" He childishly pointed to the screen. "I'm a level 87 battle mage and everypony else can't beat me in PvP!" "That's kind of unfair." She said, raising a brow with yet another smerk. "Why challenge all the low levels?" He was rubbing his hooves together devilishly. "So I can steal their pride and gold! Mwahahaha!" He smacked his hooves on the keyboard and continued destroying other players and dragons. He was somewhat of a cruel one online. The clock read 8:30 PM on his desktop. Still hard at work banishing demons and players alike, he was a short five hundred thousand Experience points away from hitting level eighty eight. That's a small task compared to the whopping one million five hundred thousand Experience he had to gather at the start of eighty seven. Magistra opened the door for the first time in a few hours. She knew that when her son was in the zone, bothering him would not end well. He's not a casual player after all. "Derpibra, you have to get ready for Sapphire Shores' appearance in half an hour!" She said, tilting her head slightly with an adorable smile. "Thanks for the reminder!" He said, shutting down his computer after turning in a quest to a nearby NPC. "Fifty thousand more XP for the count! Ok, time to get ready." He scuttled off to the bathroom, but not without bumping into the door frame. "Are you okay?" His mother helped him onto his hooves. His crossed eyes were rolling from the collision. "Yup... I'm fine!" He stumbled into the bathroom to take a shower. "Honey! What was that noise?" A masculine, deep voice called out to her. "Derpibra hit his head again!" "Ah, he's hard headed! He'll be fine!" He laughed. "Come sit for a while!" Magistra made her way to the living room and plopped on the couch. She bounced a little on the somewhat firm drakeskin seat. Next to her was her husband, Sir Memphis, a dark blue muscular earth pony with a mane as white as clouds, and smooth to the touch. His tail was short, and felt mildly spiney. His cutiemark was a large airplane. His eyes a smokey gray. He wore a flight cap, and a black bomber jacket with numerous badges on it. He worked as a commercial pilot for a living. Maybe his badges represented that? "Enjoying the Hoofball game-" She was cut off. There was another banging noise. What is he up to now? Magistra thought, worried. "Don't worry, I got it." Memphis stood up and stretched, letting out a manly groan. His muscles fascinated her, calming her down some. He trotted to the bathroom and opened the door, only to see his son tangled in the showerhead wires. His wings were restrained and feathers lay about on the floor. The water ran over his helpless body. He looked so adorable that it was laughable, and Memphis had to have been standing there laughing for almost a minute before helping him take a shower. He dried him off and helped him set his mane straight. However, no matter how much grease and combing he applied, Derpibra's mane shot back into place, as wild as it was before. "At least your mane is dry youngster." He chuckled. "Thanks for helping me out dad!" He hugged him firmly and returned to his room to further his preparations for the night. Memphis returned to the couch with his beloved wife. "That boy is a unique one to be certain." "Honey, to be honest, I'm not liking his eyes being crossed like that. We need to get him surgery." She said firmly. "He could get himself hurt." "There's no need." He said in a very relaxed tone. "Him and I, we talked. He said he didn't want the surgery, claiming it's one of his best features. And, honestly, I've never seen any ponies with crossed eyes, so he will definitely be different if that's what he's aiming for." "Aren't you concerned a little bit at least?" She asked with a worried tone of voice. "Admittedly, yeah. But I want the boy to live life how he wants to. Don't you want to as well? I mean, part of being a real stallion is knowing what pain is, and knowing how to resist it. He hasn't cried in a few years since he got so used to banging his poor head on everything." "What if he has a serious injury?" "When we are at his side, he will always be safe. I assure you that. I just don't want him bein' worried about surgery. Havin' scapels and random ponies pokin' around in you feels a hell of a lot more painful than running into a door. I don't want him under that stress." Magistra slumped into the couch, taking her love's words into account. "You're right. I'm still going to be worried though." "I will too, hun." He smooched her on the forehead. "It's what parents do." SLAM! They heard an avalanche coming from Derpibra's room. They stormed in, only to find him buried in a mountain of Naspony Race car T-shirts among other things. Derpibra's head poked out of the pile of clothes, and shook any socks off his head, then promotly put on a "Whoops!" smile. His cuteness never ceases. "Uhh... hehe.." He giggled nervously. "Oh, Derpi..." Magistra said. She lifted him up while Memphis cleaned the mess he made. "You know Derp," Memphis started. "You're never this clumsy when you play video games." He joked. He smiled in response to his father's humor. "That's because I know the PC dad, I know the keys by heart and everything! Other ponies say so too!" He raised a brow at that, shoving more shirts in the closet. "Other ponies?" "Yup! I occasionally make videos with the game capture thingamajiggy on the PC, and I upload it to Ponytube. Ponies watch it, and they love it!" He ended with a fake grin as if he was on a commercial. "I remember Ponytube." Magistra said. "What's your channel name?" She asked, dusting him off. "TheGrassBlockProductions! I'm named that since I play Ponycraft, a blocky game where you survive and build awesome stuff with friends! I built a city, a castle... and a bunch of other huge things!" He scuttled about happily pretending to be a Ponycrafter. "Can you build planes?" Memphis asked jokingly. "Yeah, but you need mods to make them actually fly." Making fake plane noises, his wings flapped as fast as a propeller, making a humming noise familiar to Memphis. He flew about that room, making comical plane noises as he went for a nosedive. Misjudging his landing however, he crashed, rolled across the floor, then got himself perched against the wall upside down, a feather popping off instantly. They both giggled at his seemingly realistic performance, though they were sure that crash was accidental. "If you keep splitting feathers, you won't be able to fly for a while." Memphis remarked. "You don't wanna be grounded like your old earth pony stallion huh?" He picked him up and gave him a noogie. "Hehehe!!" He was enjoying himself to the fullest at this point. "Alright that's enough for now you two boys." She said playfully. "We don't want to miss Ms.Shores appearance do we?" "No ma'am!" They both said. Finally got a grip on these two! She thought. They both could get wild sometimes. The family of three rode down Los Pegasus in a Ponda Accorn, a basic four door sports compact made by Equestrian. But this one was different. It had an awful lot of decorations, but they looked cool in it's own way. Dawning a black carbon fiber spoiler the size of a pony, tricked out chrome rims and sports tires labeled "EQUESTRIAN" on the sides gave it a tuner race car feel. The car was bright yellow with a carbon fiber hood and roof. The bumpers carried a set of four headlights. The suspension was lowered, and the engine was modified to have increased horse power and a turbocharger. Combined with it's six-cylinder CVCC engine, this particular Accorn out-peformed most other cars in its class. The interior had a classic, but sporty set of pink dice dangling from the driver's mirror. The dashboard had a extra speedometer, and a custom yellow N0S button which glowed when ready. The vehicle used a KERS N0S system which allowed it to build up boost while braking, say, around corners. The seats had racing leather and seatbelts. Magistra casted her magic to make the car leave a light trail in it's wake. Lastly, the license plate read: 8URN0U7, or BURNOUT. What a sporty car. Wasn't it made for family trips, not street racing? To heck with it. Equestria was relatively light on vehicle laws, so a pony could get away with anything as long as mass vehicular ponyslaughter wasn't in order. Memphis adjusted the mirror to focus on Derpibra as he put more pressure on the gas pedal. The car had a strong hum as it gained speed. "Liking the ride?" He lifted his hooves up as if he was on a roller coaster. "This is fun! Wheeeeee!!!" He yelled obnoxiously. "We need more speed! Sapphire could be there any moment!" Memphis shouted excitedly. "We're already going well over a hundred miles per hour!" Magistra exclaimed. "I got this!" He said, eyes glued to the road. He pressed the dreaded yellow button, and the vehicle started going close to one hundred fifty miles an hour. "Watch out!" She screamed. He spotted a huge bike ramp. "Let's hit it!" Memphis floored it, and hit the ramp spot on he did. They soared dozens of feet in the air, landing on all four wheels with nigh a scratch after flying through an hotel that was under construction. Good thing nopony was at work. The car fishtailed a a tiny bit, but Naspony Driver Memphis had it under control. "Here's the joint!" He purposely spun out after slowing the car down enough, doing a seven twenty before perfectly sliding into a parking space, only a mirror's length from a Range Dover. Memphis took off his flight cap. "That never get's any less fun." He said with a smile. Magistra helped Derpibra out of the compact. "And that is why your father always pays for the gas." She said chuckling to herself. "That was fun! Can we do it again?" Memphis patted his head. "We might have to stop for gas on the way back kiddo!" Just in time too. The red carpet was being rolled out by a unicorn's magic. It wasn't clear who though, since there was already a crowd gathering around the black and gold building that was the Los Pegasus Studios, known for one of the most well known events in Equestria: The Carpet walk. The lights of professional studio cameras flashed like lightning and spread like wildfire; first, one pony started taking pictures, then two, then five, then everypony! It was nearly blinding to even look in the general direction of the carpet. Derpibra had an edge since his crossed eyes didn't allow him to actually look at the carpet, so the constant artificial solar flares weren't as unbearable to him as everypony else. First was Vinyl Scratch. She trotted down the carpet, giving every possible stallion and mare high-hooves before returning back to the studio. Next was the critically acclaimed Sapphire Shores, the most famous, elegant mare in all of Equestria! So many thoughts were coursing through his mind, making his body quake in excitement: Her elegance, her amazing voice she often used outside-voice style, her attractive accent... He can go hours about how great she is, but he had only a minute to talk to her directly. He quickly flapped over to her as she was trotting to the studio. "Um, excuse me?" He said, hardly believing he said something to her face to face. "I remember you." She said, sounding somewhat delighted to see him. "You attended my Carpet Walk last year no? You were that one colt always jumping and scurrying about. I remember you because of your eyes, mostly." "That's me alright!" I can't believe she remembered me! "Listen hun," She started. "Come with me to the studio. And bring your parents too!  Tell them I personally invited you all here!" This can't be happening! He thought to himself as he gathered his parents and met her request. The studio was a little too bright. Lamps and different makeups, mannequins and drawings of dresses dotted the ebony walls. Couches, stools and chairs were scattered about the room. Mirrors seemed to make up about half of the actual walls. Famous ponies and beautiful super models roamed the room, readying for their Carpet Walk. Sapphire Shores sat on a rather fancy stool. "I noticed you were always at my events. You always looked different from everypony else." "So you wanted the opportunity to meet me?" He said with that same childish smile he always gives. "Yes hun. I always thought you were unique compared to the rest. So when I saw you approaching me, I knew I had to say something to you at least!" She chuckled. "I've always wanted this moment, Sapphire. To be able to talk to you. This is awesome!" He said, clopping his hooves repeatedly. "I also remember your Ponytube channel." She said with a smirk, reaching for some iced tea on a nearby table. "I imagine you being famous, like me someday." She took a sip from a crystal cup. "You seen my Ponytube channel!?" He tripped on a chairat the table. "Yes! Your great! I'm just visiting here at Los Pegasus, but when I get back to Canterlot, I'll put in a good word for you." She gave him Prench style kisses on either side of his face to symbolize friendship. "Now, I must go. Goodbye!" She trotted away to the dressing room in the back. Nothing could ruin this day. Returning home, he reflected on his day. He destroyed players in Dungeons and Ponies, and met Sapphire Shores! Ten years have passed since then. Old enough to travel on his own, he decides to take advantage of this newly found freedom, and conjures a dream in his mind one day. "I want to travel around Equestria... in a lifetime, and become a super star all the while." He said. Next stop, Ponyville.
