The Tale of Deviant, Son of Discordby HorrorshowManiaChaptersIntroductionColdFamily ReunionKind HeartedIntroductionHello there, I just now got this journal this after a wild ride in a place known as Ponyville. Man-o-man what a trip! It sure wasn't easy getting here though. I had to come out of the shadows to actually find my place in Equestria, and that wasn't the hardest part of my journey. I survived a blizzard, got kicked in the face (more than once!), fought my father, and was shot at with The Elements of Harmony. Yeah, pretty tough. But before I start this story let me tell you a little about myself, ok? First off, I started my life as a small multi-color egg (Yes draconequus hatch for eggs) and I hatched somewhere along the edge of the someplace called Canterlot. As I hatched, I crawled out of my shell, and wondered around in the royal gardens maze. Some how I managed to lost in the maze, but luckily I got lost near some peach trees and a large fountain. I found out how to eat and drink very fast, (As draconequus are quick learners) but even with enough to help me survive, I was sure lonely. I was slowly chewing a plump peach that fell to the ground, when a small bird came up to me. This was my first ever encounter with anything, I was so happy to see the bird, I even let out a small giggle. The bird came closer and closer to me, its blue feathers were so pretty in the sunlight. It jumped into my lions paw, and started chirping a calm, peaceful melody. As the small bird did this, A large number of animals came from everywhere, from rabbits, to frogs, to even some squirrels, came all around and were staring at me. They all started sniffing me and examining me, but they seemed to like me very much, they even went to sleep with me at night! long story short, when I got lost in that maze, I learned how I have a knack for communicating with animals. A few weeks had passed and I was still living off of peaches and fountain water with my animal friends. I had gotten a little bit bigger than when I was born, but I was still very small. I was now able to walk on only two legs instead of using all four, but I was still a little new to walking, thank Celestia my animal friends were there to support me when walking. I was wondering around the maze as I normally did, until I heard noises coming not to far away. I waddled toward the noises only to find something I've never seen before, ponies. I didn't know what they were at the time but I was so intrigued by them. I didn't want to go towards the mares, only because I was a little shy at meeting something besides animals. I heard every word they were saying, It was almost like I was studying them. As time passed and more and more ponies walked by the walls of the maze, I started to learn how to speak. I couldn't put sentences together at the time, but I said little words to animals such as come, see, and over. My vocabulary expanded very quickly and with it, my knowledge. I learned so many words and was able to speak them but my knowledge was still dull. One night I decided to venture out of the maze, and hoped on finding something appealing to knowledge. I was wondering around the flourishing garden when I spotted a large building not far from the maze. This place was huge! I could easily get lost in their as I did the maze. All I saw was walls and walls, until I looked up and saw an open window not very far from my reach. I climbed into the open pane pushing myself up, until I managed to get up and fall down on my butt after I was inside. I walked aimlessly around the building, looking for something to entertain me. My feet were starting to ache I was walking so long, until I stumbled upon a large room, filled with books. I was so young at the time I had no clue what books were, it didn't take me long to find out though. I looked at the multiple variety of the books, so many colors, and sizes too. I was so intrigued that I took some of the books, hoping to find out what was inside them. It wasn't easy finding the window I crawled out from, but sooner or later I found the darn thing. I was still so little at the time, the drop down from the window appeared much larger than when I came up. Somehow I managed to get out of the building, lowering the books first and then lowering myself, landing on the cushion of books. I wondered back to my home in the maze dropping down the books and opening them right away. As I opened the books, I was dumbfounded, I had no clue what these markings were! I was so confused, but my animal friends helped me more than I thought. The animals somehow helped me understand the books, crazy I know, but somehow they did it! I started to read book after book gaining intelligence with each book. It took me forever to finish the first one, but after that one all the others were so easy to me. After I was done with some books, I would go back to the building, get some more and come back and read. I kept this routine going on and on until I learned how to write and read and from the books. This made me so happy that I knew all these things, I finally had enough courage to go talk to one of the many ponies, wondering the garden when the sun is up. I slowly crawled over to one on all fours, trying not to startle the mare. I came so close to the pony, I stood up and tried to communicate with the pony, but it wasn't the response I was looking for. "AHHHH IT'S DISCORD!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!" screamed the pony at the top of her lungs, causing all the ponies around her to panic and run in terror. I was so confused, I had no clue why the ponies were scared of me. Then it hit me, Im different from them. I was so upset at this uproar that I fled the gardens, running as far away as I could. I probably shouldn't have ran downtown though, this caused pandemonium everywhere I went. Ponies everywhere were shouting "That little monster! Go away!." "Oh no, Its the menace Discord!" "That little Deviant, why can't he leave us alone?" I was crying as I hauled tail out of that place, leaving behind my animal friends, and all the ponies that ran away from me. I was far away from anything now, I was in an open field when I stopped running and tried to catch my breath. With tears still rolling down my face, I was so crushed at the way they reacted. Especially hearing that one pony call me that one name. "That little Deviant." It echoed in my head with pain. Deviant? Why would they call me that? I started to think that that was my name for some reason. Deviant. The echoing pain finally stopped and I accepted the name. I stopped crying, and started to wipe the tears from my face. I bulked up and accepted what the world saw me as, a horrible, ugly, monster. I started to run again, away from the field and into something that reminded me of home. I ran miles, all four of my limbs were felt as if they were about to fall off. But with all that effort, it was rewarded to me as a new home. I was inside a dark, lush forest. It was beautiful. I decided to stay there, and grow up there with no judgement from any pony. I grew up from my old small puny self, into a new, young, and stronger body, but I somehow still looked like my old self, just taller and with a longer tail. So there you go, all you need to know before I tell you the rest of my life. I hope you enjoy my story, this is the tale of Deviant. It was Winter, one of my favorite times of the year. I could actually enjoy it if I wasn't freezing to death. But the way the white snow covered everything, it was simply beautiful, Even in the Everfree forest it was still beautiful. I was lucky enough to start a fire that morning, the winter winds blew left and right, back and forth. It was impossible to start a single spark. Thank Celestia that my tails scales were highly flammable, or I would have never lit that flame. Oh sorry about that I guess I got a little sidetracked from the real story. My name is Deviant, I am a young draconequus living in the only place I can not be judged, the Everfree forest. My life is very quite, the multiple trees here make a living jungle gym for me. My physical body is much stronger than any magic I could summon, but only because I don't know any magic because nobody ever bothered to teach me any spells or tricks. I was very unhappy with my current life, being alone, nothing to talk to besides animals. My life was horrible, anyone I talked to ran away from me in fear of my Appearance. Everybody ran from me and no one gave me a chance, that is until I have a change of heart and meet some interesting ponies. I was warming up around the fire I just started, warming up as much as I could before I froze myself to the bone in the intense winter chill. My teeth were chattering, my fur on my back was straight up, and I couldn't feel my fingers or claws in either one of my hands. I needed to get warmer, the sun was only going down, and I needed a sustainable fire, so I decided to add some shrubs and leaves to the burning brush. I could tell how cold it was, as soon as I set ten feet away from that fire, frost started to occur on my fur. I quickly hurried back to the fire with a few bushes and limbs in my arms, they extra burning fuel made the fire burst towards me, making me feel warm to the bone. But as if Karma didn't want me to be there, a large mound of snow rolled down a nearby tree, and landed on my fire. Somehow I wasn't surprised at this, "I guess thats my cue to go look for some food" I said with irritation in my voice. I spread both my wings and flew off above the forest, hoping to get a better look. I was hoping to find some kind of fruit or veggie, but nothing was in sight. the sun started to decline across the horizon, and I was about to die of starvation. "I can't find a single thing before sundown! I guess I'll try again in the morning." sadness filled me and so did starvation. But starvation was the least of my problems at this point. As soon as that sun disappeared, winter winds started appearing. I was almost below the forest's top layer of leaves when a gust of cold wind pushed me back up into the atmosphere. "Why me?" I was starting to get a little agitated at this point. I got higher up in the air and attempted to dive down from the air, using my wings at full speed. But a large gale pushed me back up right before I was at ground. "One last time, one last time." I repeated over and over as I rose up in the air. This time I was going to give it my all, using one hundred and ten percent of my wings. The winds were blowing aggressively, and it only got worse with time. It was pitch black outside and I could barely see 5 feet in front of me, and to top it off, it started to snow. I was trapped in a blizzard, and there was no way out. Besides just me being stuck in that vortex, some trees were uprooted and were spinning inside the cold vortex with me, But that could not stop me. I was going at maximum power, using every muscle and body part to help me escape. I decided to use every fiber of my being to try to fly out one more time, my wings going as fast as they could, the winds blowing harder and harder. "Almost out...." I kept saying to myself, and I really was almost out of that spinning nightmare. I reached for the edge of the vortex, pushing myself out as my lion paw finally got out of the vortex. then I slowly started to progress my body, inching out of piece by piece, when I finally had just the top part of my body out of the tornado. It felt like I was about to be torn in two from that vortex. "All... most... there.." with my wings still going at full speed. Then with my torso almost completely out of the tornado, a large tree was uprooted right in front of me. I could hear its roots snap as it was rising up from the earth. I suddenly realized what was going to happen, "Oh no" I said with fear in my voice,"Come on! Wings Go! Faster!" but it was no use, my wings were going as fast as they could and I couldn't go any faster than I already was. There was one single root holding that tree in the ground, but it didn't hold very long. I heard a large snap just as I was pulling my legs out of the tornado. The tree was spinning out of control, I was trying to get out before something happened, but I only watched in horror as the tree was within arm distance. I closed my eyes and clenched up preparing for what was going to happen, then everything around me was silent. I opened my eyes and all I could see was darkness, my ears were ringing in pain. "uhhhh. ouch..." I groaned to my self, still inside the darkness. I tried to stand up but I fell right back down, I couldn't see anything around me. Until the pitch black was suddenly lit, It was looked like I was in a hallway of some sort. I looked around me to find large candle towers in each corner, covering almost every inch with a dim yellow light. The walls of the hallway looked like stone, and every wall was covered with pictures, of myself. I was so confused, I had no clue how I had gotten here. "Am I dead?" I asked myself. As those words escaped my mouth, a dark voice echoed in the room,"Mwahaha very far from it Deviant." a large shadow appeared from a dark haze, with a long snake-like body and a long black cloak covering most of his upper body and face. The cloaked figure slowly inched toward me, "So good to finally talk to you, that storm was quite a doozy." I was so defensive of this, How does he know I was in a storm? I asked myself. I bared my fangs and claws, preparing for what-ever this masked figure was going to do. He creeped closer and grabbed the hood of his cloak, slowly taking it off. "Well you see Deviant," his voice trailed of as he took of the hood of the cloak. "What kind of a father would I be, If I didn't know my only sons name?" "Well you see Deviant," his voice trailed of as he took of the hood of the cloak. "What kind of a father would I be, If I didn't know my only sons name?" Family ReunionI was in awe, and shock at the same time. Since I grew up on my own, this is mind-blowing to me that I had family. "Your my D-d-dad?" I said stuttering with a dry feeling in my throat. "Yes, You are indeed my son, just look at the two of us, we're practically alike." He snapped his fingers, and with a poof of white smoke, a mirror stood in front of both of us. Strangely we both did look alike, except he was much taller, and his tail was red, mine was green, and his reptilian leg was green, mine was red. And another difference was he had snow white eyebrows and a beard, I had black Hair, but other then that we both were identical. "You see my son? We are clearly of relation by blood, we are the only two draconequus in all of Equestria." said the uncloaked figure. Questions filled my head, I had to ask and get answers from him, "But how? Your here with me now, why do you show up now of all times!?" with anger in my voice, seeing the only family I've ever had now? "If your really my father prove it! How did I get here anyway? And why am I here?" I had so many questions that needed answers. "All of those questions will be answered soon my little abomination" said the uncloaked draconequus, wandering around the room looking the walls and candles. "Well to answer your first question let me tell you a little secret that you don't know about yourself." I cannot believe what he's saying, he's saying he doesn't know me, when he hasn't met me once except for right now! The nerve of him! i thought to myself, while gritting my teeth in anger. "First off son, you may already realize that you are much different than those around you, correct?" listening to him with my full attention, He was indeed right but anything could tell I was different! "And being so different, makes you just like me." he said with a smirk, "You have no clue what I'm like." I said to the so-called father. "Oh really? Odd because I have been with you ever since birth Deviant." A vein appeared on my forehead, pulsing with a bloodlust to hurt this guy, and rip him limb from limb. Not only was this guy a lier, but he was a nut-job! Nobody even got within a twenty feet radius of me because of my looks! How in Celestias mane could he have been there! His smile turned into a grin of disgust. He slowly creeped around the pillars in the room, then appeared face to face with me staring into his evil red eyes. "Son... you really must speak up, its hard to understand you thinking when your asking dumb questions." I was puzzled at him, I said no such words to him. I was only thinking about his opinions. Then it occurred to me, "You... can hear my thoughts?" His smile returned to his face laughing as he said, "But of course! We both have a bond that nobody else in Equestria has." "But how could you have been with me, I never saw you in my entire life until now?" My rage disappeared and was replaced by confusion, and came one painful headache. "Well..." Said the tall draconequus, approaching me. "Im not physically around you, but I'm always in your head." Looking at the old creature, I had the look of distrust on my face. My headache was burning my skull, and I was thinking of how he could have been lying to me. But inside of me, I somehow believed him. "But why are you here now?" I said with some sadness in my voice, probably because I finally started to believe he was my father and only family. Once again his smile was replaced, but instead of a grin, it was replaced with the look of darkness. His mouth turned upside down and his eyes closed slowly as he started to still from moving around the room. "Because Deviant, something serious is about to happen in your life, and I'm here to guide you through it." He said, with his back turned to me. I started to think what was going to happen, raging through my mind was so many possibilities, but just in case I decided to ask him. "Whats going to happen then?" He turned his snake like body in a spiral, twisting around to look me in the eyes. "You are going to help your old man, with a little... Re-aqaintance with some ponies." he said as he slithered back to the wall to observe. I had no clue what he was talking about, that pretty much told me nothing about what was going to happen, but I still wanted to know more about what was coming up. "Oh... and who would I be getting re-aquainted with?" He kept lurking around the room, going behind the pillars and looking at the rooms walls. "Oh just some ponies I have to tie some loose ends with thats all, don't worry Deviant, it won't be very difficult." he said, still sliding and slithering around the room. Still, he told me nothing about what was coming up. The vein in my head returned, "That doesn't answer my question. Who is it?" I said, In a more serious tone of voice "Well son if you want me to answer all your questions in time before you wake up then be thankful for the answer you got, now next question." he said, looking at me with a menacing glance. Well I guess that this was going no-where and he was not going to tell me anytime soon, so I changed to topic to hopefully get a good answer to my serious questions. "Well fine, but where are we? I've never been here before." He answered back quickly, this time grabbing me and tossing me in the air as he responded. "Well Deviant, we are in the entrance to your inner mind." grabbing me before I hit the ground, and there the grin returned yet again on his face. "My mind? This little room is my entire mind!?" I spoke with a crack in my voice as it raised. He looked down at me with his red eyes, as his shadow covered me in darkness. "Well son, we are in the entrance to your mind, the other places of your mind will soon be unlocked, along with your potential." I was starting to look around as he said that, staring at all the portraits on the wall, all of me when I was young. It was amazing, it was like every important time in my life was here in the hall. I was astonished but managed to keep my strait face and ask another question. "Well how am I supposed to get out of here father? This room has no doors, just walls and portraits." "All in due time Deviant, all in due time.. oh and please call me Discord, father sounds like I'm old." He said as his voice trailed off into a completely new conversation. "Oh would you look at that, the first time you used your wings. That was actually kind of cute how you flopped around so many times." Aggravated at Discord I quickly went back to topic, "Don't change the topic Discord, Now why do you want my help exactly and what makes you think I'll agree?" He only stared down with a demonic smile across his long face. "The real question is why not Deviant? If you want to help or not your still going to, no matter what you do son, it's fate!" I stared up at him and clenched a fist with my eagle claw. I was filled with rage at my father, the first time I meet him and he wants me to be his errand boy? I don't think so! I started to dash towards him, with my fist still clenched up. I was feet away, his back turned to me, I jumped up and prepared for a devastating blow to release. But before I could hit him, time stopped, I was frozen in mid-air but Discord turned around and looked at me with his grin still on his maw. As soon as he turned, the room we were in started to shake aggressively. I fell to the ground and released my fist with relief. Discord spoke up quickly," Oh Well would you look at that, your waking up. Your about to meet one of those ponies I need you to see anyway. Oh and here take this." he took of his black tattered cloak, and threw it to me. While in the air the cloak changed size, to a much smaller wear that would fit me perfectly. "It will keep you warm, especially during this time of year." The room shook as if an earthquake went off, with the room falling apart as the walls crumbled and the ceiling started to collapse. The darkness started to turn to a bright white light, growing all around me. Discord turned and walked away, I tried to run towards him to keep him from leaving "Discord!" I yelled trying to run to him, but the light engulfed him. everything around me was bright and I was falling as the floor crumbled beneath my feet. This must be a dream, wake up Deviant wake up! I thought to myself over and over. All the light around me changed colors from different greens, blues, and even some yellows. An awful whistling filled my ears, I was finally awake, but all I wanted to do was to keep dreaming. Kind HeartedEverything was a blur. My head was in throbbing pain, as was my bat wing, but I couldn't feel my hawk wing for some reason. I checked my surroundings around me, or tried to at least. Every time I moved, my body felt an intense sharp pain, it was unbearable. My vision slowly started to sharpen as I stay still, and no longer was I in that cold tornado, but inside a nice warm cottage. I didn't know what to think, first thing that came to mind was, Am I dead? I had no clue what-so-ever how I ended up inside this den. I could hear the crackling of fire not to far away from me, and could see that the storm was still at its full rage outside from the windows. I tried to move any part of my body, but everything I did caused that sharp striking pain to occur. This time it was worse than the first time I tried to move. I guess I have to just sit still and wait until I can move , I thought to myself. I could move one thing though, my lions paw was able to move freely without pain occurring. I tried to move my other arm or stretch my back out a little bit, but I was forced to keep my back still due to the sharp pain occurring in my chest. My paw quickly clenched the striking area, then I discovered I was bandaged around my torso. "What the? How do i have these? I never put these on!" I spoke with grief and confusion throughout my voice, with the agonizing pain striking with each word. I was dumbfounded, my mind going on and on about how I got here, and why I was like this. While asking all these questions to myself I heard something coming from a distance not to far from the door. My ears twitched, hearing every movement whatever outside the cottage was making. I was in panic, If I had to defend myself, I could be as good as dead! I tried to stand up, but after that tornado, I couldn't move a single muscle. I decided to wait and see what would come through that door, my heart pounding with fear. The door slowly creaked open, I was sweating in fear of what was behind the door. The door was now fully open, but I couldn't see who opened the door, cold winter winds were thick and blocked my field of vision. As the cold winds came through the door, all candles and lights were blown out, leaving me in the darkness. My heart was racing I was so scared, I had no clue what would come through that door. But to my surprise, a small white bunny came in, hopping in the cottage where I was. This rabbit lives here, I must still be dreaming , I thought to myself. The rabbit just held the door open for some reason, continuing to let in the cold air. I tried to speak up to tell the rabbit to close it, but I was too weak at the moment to bear a single sound. The rabbit was gesturing to something to tell it to get in the house, and so something came in. A yellow pony walked in with a colorful pink and green scarf and was covered in snow. She closed the door and locked it shut, preventing any more snow and harsh winds to enter the home. She had a basket in her mouth, At first I thought she had a picnic out in the blizzard, but thats just my stupidity getting the best of me. She went over to the kitchen and started setting down her things, she glanced over at me, and saw that my eyes were open. Everything stopped as we glared at each other, but that didn't last long. She finally broke the silence. "Oh your awake!, I was so worried!" I tried to respond back to her, but only mutters and mumbles came out of my mouth. I was too weak to even to turn my head in her direction, she only looked back me with concern. "Oh you poor thing, you must be so weak after that blizzard." I responded with a small grunt of agony, the sharp pain was everywhere throughout my body. She finally stopped looking at me and started moving around the cottage turning everything upside down as if she was looking for something. She moved back and forth, upstairs and down until she screamed," Oh there it is!" She trotted down stairs and came over to me with a bottle and a spoon in her hooves. The yellow pony opened up the bottle, pouring out a yellow liquid onto the spoon. The gunk slowly dribbled down onto the spoon, and a foul odor emerged as the bottle opened. "Ok now open wide." She said as she tried to give me the liquid. I opened my jaw slowly so that no pain would occur while I did this. The pony slowly but steadily put the spoon in my mouth, forcing me to taste the yellow substance. It was awful! The taste of that liquid made my skin crawl, and forced me to cough in disgust. Doing this made me spit out the horrid substance and the spoon as well. The yellow pony only picked up the spoon and poured more liquid into the spoon. "You must swallow this, it will help you, I promise." she said with her voice as smooth as silk. If she's trying to help me then I have to try to swallow this gunk! I thought to myself before trying again. She put the spoon in my mouth again, as I was trying not to vomit at the taste of the liquid. The texture and taste was horrible! but I somehow managed to force the substance down my throat, but after I did I was coughing and gaging for air. So vile! I was panting with disgust after that, I somehow managed to move my head up and look at the pony. She was right, no pain occurred when I lifted my head, I still didn't speak thanks to that medicine. She kept talking in a smooth voice, so calm and gentle "Im so sorry about that, the medicine isn't the best tasting, but it sure does help!" a smile wiped across her face. I lowered my head no longer in pain, but exhausted from escaping the vortex, I was taking long deep breaths as I slowly regained my strength. I was still concerned about my bandages so I decided to ask, "Miss.." I was still weak for some reason but uttered the words out of my mouth as she looked at me. "Why am I bandaged on my chest?" The pony looked back with a frown "Your not just bandaged on your chest. Something hit you on your head and were unconscious when I found you." I had no idea I hurt my head. I raised my paw rubbing the surface of my head, and sure enough a bandage was covered over the top of my head. I slightly touched the bandaged area, the sharp pain hit me as I did this. The pony responded quickly, "Oh don't do that! Don't touch it or your going to get worse!" I could help but wonder how she even found me, I was out in a blizzard for Celstias sake! I had to ask, "How and where did you find me? There was a blizzard going on you could have gotten sucked in." She only looked at me and blushed, "Well I didn't go looking for you. You somehow hit our home, as soon as I heard something I went outside and there you were, unconscious and with serious wounds." She hid her face as she said this. I was still breathing heavily, but managed to respond to her, "Were you not scared of me? Look at me, Im a monster!" She showed her face again looking me dead in the eye. "You're not a monster, your just an innocent creature in need." The pony was very quick to respond to me, as if she was defending me. I still saw myself as a monster, but after she said that my heart shifted, changing from sad and lonely... to loved. I was trying to get up from the chair I was sitting in and slowly stood up. I nearly fell over as I did so, but managed to stand up, with my legs shaking as if they were about to snap. As I was up I slowly paced over to the pony, and was then right in front of her. She stared down at me, "Are you still hurting? If so ill get you som-" her voice cut off as I proceeded. I put both my arms around her, hugging her tenderly, with tears pouring out of my eyes. I was so happy that someone cared for me for once, and didn't care what I looked like. She spoke up "There there, its all going to be okay." She moved both her hooves and hugged me as well. We both just stood there, for eternity it felt like. I started to dry my eyes of the tears and backed away, with my arms still hugging her. "I can't thank you enough. (sniffle) You saved me." She smiled and a tear struck her eye and rolled down her face. "Your welcome." Her eyes got big as she stared at me. We finally broke from the hug and pegasi trotted over to the kitchen. I slowly went back to my chair, and moved it closer to the fire place, warming myself up. She glanced at me near the fire "Would you like some hot-cocoa? It will warm you up." I started to smile "That sounds... nice" She brought over two mugs, steam and white foam burst out of the mugs. She sat down in another chair next to me and handed me a cup. I could feel the warmth of the mug on my palm, it felt so good, and smelt even better. The cup touched my lips as I tilted the cup upwards. Warm rich cocoa filled my mouth, It was delicious I took small sips though because the beverage was extremely hot. She glared over at me and smiled, "Is it good?" I nodded with foam across my mouth. She giggled at this, "Hehe, by the way my names Fluttershy." I swallowed a large sip and cleared my throat, "Hello, my name's Deviant."
IntroductionHello there, I just now got this journal this after a wild ride in a place known as Ponyville. "What kind of a father would I be, If I didn't know my only sons name?"

Family ReunionI was in awe, and shock at the same time.
