Vinyl glanced up at the stage. She gave Tavi a little wave, but the cellist didn’t respond.
She frowned. Darn. Looked like Tavi was already too busy with playing. Admittedly, yeah, it did seem like her piece had already started (what with all the staring ponies and dimmed lights and all), but Vinyl always made it a habit to wave hello at her friends from stage whenever she had a gig.
She shrugged. Whatever. It wasn’t like she hadn’t heard this piece a million times in practice before. And with all those snooty ponies distracted by the concert...that meant that the dessert buffet should be thoroughly unattended.
A glance back over her shoulder proved her right. She smirked. Welp. Time to get to work, then. She slipped away to the back of the room.
Once she was there, she was almost immediately assaulted by a menagerie of smells almost too delicious to comprehend. Delectable donuts, chocolatey croissants, tasty tarts, marshmallowy meringues—
Vinyl was drooling. She quickly slurped it up, then snagged a plate from the end of the table. On second thought, she reflected, better grab another. She settled on four plates, each hovering a few inches away from her.
It didn’t take long to pile them up with food. It took even less time for her to take her first bite—then her second, third, and fourth. Vinyl happily devoured donut after donut, almost moaning in pleasure as she felt the frosting and sprinkles slide down her gullet. Gods. Donut Joe had really outdone himself on these. Even with each of her four plates piled high with the delectable desserts, it took her under five minutes to render the donut platter, previously stacked with a pyramid of pastries ten high, bare of anything besides crumbs. Then, after a second’s consideration, she swallowed those down too. Didn’t want anything to go to waste, after all.
She patted her swollen belly, then burped loudly. Luckily, it looked like Tavi had just finished her first piece, so the sound of applause easily drowned out Vinyl’s gastrointestinal exuberance. Vinyl made a cursory attempt at applause (which was really just patting her rounded belly and giggling as it jiggled), then turned back to the buffet. A lesser mare would have stopped there, but Vinyl Scratch wasn’t anywhere near done.
The ice cream came next. She paced herself, taking a scoop from each of the half-dozen tubs and spacing them out with copious amounts of cookies, cupcakes, and eclairs. Didn’t want to get brainfreeze, after all. Soon, her belly had spilled out over her legs—she’d seated herself on a chair, knowing from experience that she didn’t want to be walking around with a gut almost as big as she was—and was sloshing pleasantly from all the melted cream and crumbs inside. She poked it, chuckling as it jiggled, then smacked her cream-covered lips.
Another belch. Dang, but these high-society ponies really knew how to live it up. She eyed the stage suspiciously. Looked like the snoots were still paying Tavi close attention. Good. Meant she had more time to gulp these goodies down (plus, Tavi really deserved it, with all the time she’d spent practicing. Vinyl resolved to save her a plate or two of eclairs for later; she knew how much Octavia loved stuffing herself silly on the things, no matter what she might tell her classical friends about “diets” and other dumb stuff like that).
Vinyl groaned pleasantly as she rubbed her gut, her horn already levitating a giant platter of cookies into the air beside her. By now, her massive belly must have comprised a good third of her weight; it spilled out over her legs and thighs, and sloshed loudly at her touch. The chair creaked beneath her weight, and only got even louder as she poured the contents of not one, not two, but three full cookie-laden platters down her gullet.
One hundred “gourmet” cookies later, and Vinyl was a much happier, much fuller, and much bigger mare. But she was neither full nor big enough. With a grin, she glanced over to the very center of the buffet.
She could’ve tried for the cake—the party’s piece de resistance, as Tavi would’ve called it. But Vinyl had a much bigger prize in mind. Hefting her massive stomach in both hooves (she could barely reach around it now; it was so wide and taut and smooth), she heaved herself out of her chair (the hooves wobbled beneath her enormous weight, but somehow managed to stay in one piece) and onto the ground. Her belly slapped against her thighs and almost scraped along the ground as she trotted—well, waddled—to her real target.
Vinyl looked up at the chocolate fondue fountain with a gleam in her eye. A thin line of drool ran down her chin. With a grunt, a flash of magic, and an apparent violation of physics, she heaved her blobby mass up onto the table and directly underneath the pouring fountain.
She held her mouth wide open as beautiful, liquid chocolate poured down her gullet. She gulped it all down, cup after cup, liter after liter, gallon after gallon. She felt her belly swelling, growing, bulging as it pushed up above her body until it towered above her. But she kept on gulping, gurgling and sloshing happily as she swallowed more and more and more—
Creak. Creak. Creaaaa—
The table just couldn’t take it. With a sound almost as enormous as Vinyl, the table creaked, groaned, and finally shattered, sending her crashing to the ground. She plummeted, her massive belly jiggling and bouncing like a medicine ball, pinning her to the ground above the wreckage of the buffet table.
The music stopped. All heads turned to her. Expressions of shock, disgust, and anger filled the room. Vinyl spotted Tavi looked at her. Her expression said it all: Dammit, Vinyl. Not again.
Vinyl just shrugged, grinning helplessly. She licked her lips, then set about massaging her vast, gurgling belly.
Oops?
Octavia just sighed. She didn’t look disgusted. Just vaguely irritated. And then...a spark of something else.
Interest, maybe? Vinyl grinned. She could live with that.
“Really, Vinyl. You mustn’t keep acting out like that.”
Vinyl held up a hoof. Octavia waited, then rolled her eyes as Vinyl smacked her gut and let out a long, low belch.
Vinyl leaned back and groaned, massaging her gut. She shot Tavi a smirk. “Hm? You were sayin’ something?”
Octavia sighed. She cuddled a little bit closer to Vinyl. Her marefriend’s globular gut sloshed and jiggled, Vinyl’s mountain of flab squishing inward against Octavia’s side. A small smile crossed Octavia’s face. If there was one thing Vinyl was, it was soft. Soft and warm.
“Yes,” she said, after a moment. “As much as I’m sure you love it, you can’t keep taking these invitations to Canterlot events as...free-for-alls! Buffets!”
‘Uh,” Vinyl said, patting her belly. “I’m pretty sure they are buffets.”
“They have buffets; they are concerts. But that’s not the point. The point - “ Octavia groaned, massaged her temple with a hoof. “The point is that if you keep doing this, at some point they’re going to stop sending me plus-one invitations to these things! Or just stop sending me invites at all!”
“C’mon, Tavi.” Vinyl at least had the decency to look somewhat abashed. Admittedly, it looked a bit silly with her chubby cheeks and double chins wobbling whenever she spoke, but even that made her look a bit cuter when she talked. “Y’know I didn’t mean anything by it. I was just hungry - look, it wasn’t that much - “
“You ate a layout meant for one hundred and fifty attendees,” Octavia hissed. “Alone! Single-hoofedly!”
Vinyl burped again, then chuckled. She patted her voluminous gut. “Yeah, I guess,” she said, blushing. “S’pretty good, though.”
“I’m sure it was,” Octavia huffed. “The fact remains, though, that it’s just...well, too much!”
They were both quiet for a second. Then,
“You liked it,” Vinyl said, teasingly.
“What? No!”
“You totally did.” Vinyl’s voice took on a sing-song quality. “Ta-vi likes fat maaaaaaaares - “
“Stop that! No, I do not!”
“Fibber,” Vinyl said. “I totally saw the way you were eyeing me at the concert.”
“Because you were making a complete pig of yourself!”
“Because you liked it.” Vinyl nudged her massive, jiggling body an inch closer to Octavia - at her current size and weight, that was about the most she could do. She smirked, the soft bedroom light glinting off of her ruby-red eyes. “C’mon, Tavi. Admit it. I can tell when a mare likes what she sees.”
“I - “ Octavia sputtered for a moment, then crossed her hooves, huffed. “I - so what if I did? It simply isn’t proper! Such gluttony - such sloppiness! High society could never abide it!”
“Who cares what high society? Tavi, look at me.”
Octavia turned around, her lower lip quivering. Vinyl gave her a half-lidded smile and pressed a hoof against her belly. It sank a few inches into her plump, rounded gut, setting the taut curves around it jiggling like mad.
“You like this,” Vinyl said quietly, her smile widening slightly. “You like how big and soft I get when I’m like this.”
“Well - perhaps,” Octavia said, biting her lip. “It - well, it is rather nice.”
“Then don’t worry too much about it,” Vinyl said. “Here. Why don’t you touch it?”
Octavia shrugged her shoulder. It sank another inch deeper into Vinyl’s massive love handles. “I believe I already am.”
“Not like that.” Now Vinyl was the one to roll her eyes. “Touch it. I mean really touch it. Let yourself have some fun.”
“I…” Octavia swallowed. Then she stood up. Her hooves sank gently into the mattress, but nowhere near as much as Vinyl’s bulk did.
She gazed out over Vinyl’s bulk, appearing somewhat lost. There was just so much of it. Her marefriend’s giant gut was easily the size of a beanbag chair - she’d had to drag it along the ground all the way home, and even now, it was obvious that she’d have more than her fair share of difficulty walking around with it hanging below her. It spread out over her lap, her overhang settling over her hind legs and covering up her crotch.
Vinyl seemed to sense Octavia’s hesitation. “Y’know,” she said, smiling softly, “a belly rub wouldn’t go too far wrong right now.” She thumped a hoof on her full, gurgling tummy and chuckled when it rumbled back at her, still digesting its massive meal. “I ate a heck of a lot back there, and digesting it’s gonna take a lot of work.”
“A belly - oh!” Octavia said. She flushed. “Yes. I…”
Hesitantly, she spread out her hooves over Vinyl’s stomach. Vinyl groaned softly as Octavia’s hooves pressed down on her gut, sinking in an inch or two before bottoming out. Octavia could actually feel the limits of Vinyl’s stomach from here: a big, taut sphere of food, still digesting from her feast. And she was already this soft? This plump?
A tingle ran down her spine. Octavia licked her lips. How big Vinyl might get...now there was a thought she rather liked.
She began by massaging Vinyl’s belly, carefully kneading it like dough. Vinyl grunted happily, her massive thighs shifting as Octavia rubbed her gut. Her belly swayed softly from side to side, her flab piling up on her left as Octavia hugged it toward her.
Vinyl shot Octavia a knowing grin. Octavia blushed cutely, then grinned back.
“This is…” she began. “Erm. Rather nice.”
“Feels great, too,” Vinyl said playfully. “Don’t stop there.”
Octavia took another few seconds to cuddle Vinyl’s flab to her chest. It was so soft, so warm - and there was just so much of it. She’d almost never felt smaller than another pony, but here was Vinyl, a positive mountain of mass - an example of size and gluttony that she’d only pictured in her wildest dreams! And yet...some part of her yearned to see Vinyl bigger.
One of Octavia’s hooves slipped down to Vinyl’s flank. She began to run it in soft, circular rubbing patterns around Vinyl’s Cutie Mark, then moved it up to Vinyl’s hip. Vinyl’s gut gurgled happily as Octavia’s other hoof slipped between her overhang and her plump thigh, giving her fat a squeeze and exploring the new crevices her flabby friend had gained.
“Mmff,” Octavia murmured, unconsciously sliding her body across Vinyl’s. By the time she came out of it, she was already sitting atop Vinyl’s gut. She was actually straddling it, one of her hind legs planted on either side, and one of her hooves pressed deep into Vinyl’s upper chest flab.
The blush was upon her before she even knew it - but before Octavia could remove herself, one of Vinyl’s flabby arms came up and held tight to her thigh. “C’mon, Tavi. Don’t you like that?”
“Mm.” Octavia’s eyes fluttered closed. “It...it does feel…”
“Out with it,” Vinyl said playfully.
Octavia carefully leaned over, then planted a kiss on one of Vinyl’s chins. She gave her a long, heavy gaze, then smiled.
“Incredible,” she said. She gave her hips a little jerk. The entirety of Vinyl’s gut wobbled and jiggled beneath her like a water bed, massaging her as her whole body sank into Vinyl’s pony-sized belly.
Vinyl smiled back. “Oh, yeah. Now that feels good.” She gave a cute little moan, then reached forward to rest her hoof on the back of Octavia’s neck. She brought her marefriend down into a brief kiss - not on her neck, this time, but on the muzzle, the two tasting each other for a long, slow time.
Octavia finally pulled away, blinking. She licked her muzzle. “You taste sweet,” she said, wrinkling her nose.
“What, like chocolate?”
“Frosting, I think.”
“Is that bad?”
“It’s…” Octavia paused. “Different.”
They tried again. This time, Octavia came out of the kiss smiling to herself, licking her lips. “I think I rather like it, actually.”
“Y’know,” Vinyl said, “I think there might be a tray of cupcakes downstairs from last week’s shopping trip.”
Octavia’s heart skipped a beat. “You mean - “
“Yup.” Vinyl slapped the side of her gut playfully, then grinned up at Octavia. “What do you say, Tavi? Wanna make this belly even bigger?”
“I - “ Octavia stopped herself, then took a deep breath. She looked at Vinyl - looked at all of her. That massive gut, jiggling like Jello. Those chunky thighs, so soft and warm against her own. Those chins - those cheeks, plump and round and red, dimpling so cutely around what could only be Vinyl’s attempt at a sultry grin.
Octavia giggled, then grinned back. “I think,” she said, “that I would most certainly be interested.”
