Rainbow Dash took in her surroundings, the fields on the outskirts of Ponyville had once been lush, green and full of life but now there was only a few dead shrubs pushing through the barren soil. Rainbow was on full alert as she came across an upturned cart, to her disappointment none of it's contents remained.
"Damn it"
If she didn't get food soon Dashie was certain she would starve, it seemed Ponyville was her only option now but it was a long way off and there was a massive risk hanging over her, then again there was always a massive risk hanging over her.
She was still lost in her thoughts when Rainbow Dash realized pony-like figures had started to come towards her. How had she let herself get distracted like that? Rainbow looked for a way out but she was surrounded. Surrounded by living corpses.
"Oh shit Oh shit!"
There was only one way out. Dash looked above at the toxic clouds of gas that constantly covered the sky. Don't be crazy there's always another way out. Right? Dashie wasn't so sure. Panic set in, Rainbow took the risk.
As she flew upwards it got harder to breath, her eyesight blurred and her head started to spin. If she blacked out now she'd fall in to the peril of the zombies below but flying was becoming harder and harder.
"Come on Rainbow. You can do it. You don't need anypony. You can always get through on your own."
Rainbow muttered to herself but it did nothing to help her situation. Her eyesight was starting to fade to black and her wings were going slower.
"I must... but I can't... yes I can... must rest... no... no..."
Then there was nothing but darkness.
