The Best There is at What He Does

Another Day in my life. Until it wasn't.

"That convention was absolutely terrible." I spat out, as me and my brothers walk back home. We were just at a comic con where everyone seemed to wear the same costume, and all of them were stupidly designed. The only things sold there were yucky carnival foods (that surprisingly tasted worse than they should, considering carnival foods actually taste pretty decent), and crappy toys and merchandise.

"Well, I'm sorry that you wanted to come with me. I wanted to test out my new costume! And judging by everyone's reactions, it was one of the best in the place!" My younger brother, Johnny, said with a big happy smile on my face, and brought a smaller one to mine. He was dressed up as the Human Torch, complete with little electric flames to add to the 'greatness of his costume.'

"It wasn't that bad." Steve, our other brother, the second oldest of us three, said. While Steve was the middle brother, he was easily the most mature, and always looked after us. He was dressed in a Captain America costume, complete with metal shield.

As for me, I, James, was dressed as my favorite mutant, the Wolverine. And not in the weird looking X-men suit. I was wearing some blue jeans, with a white muscle shirt, and I had my dark leather motorcycle jacket our dad left me before he died. We lived pretty close to where the convention center was, so we were walking our way home. Unfortunately, it was a dark night, and some rebels decided to block our path.

"Hey look who we have here. It's the X-men." One of them said.

"No wait, it's the Fantastic Four." Another said.

"Pretty sure it's the Avengers." A third said.

"It doesn't matter who they are, as long as they don't try anything heroic, they might survive." The fourth and final one said, clearly their leader. A click of a knife reverberated in the air, and we could easily see a small glint of light bouncing off the knife. I took a step back in fear and surprise, as Steve stood defensively in front of Johnny.

I held up my hands. "Look, we don't want any trouble."

"Then hand over all of your money." The leader said, as he took a step forward, as if he prepared to use the knife. I quickly reached into my pocket, and pulled out my wallet, before reaching in and pulling out a three fives, and handing it to them.

"There. I gave you all of our money. Now can we go?" I said as I pocketed my wallet back, and watched as the gang counted the money.

"Fifteen dollars? Seriously?! We'll get more money by kidnapping one of you." The leader pulled out a gun, and aimed it at Steve's leg, before firing, and I watched in slow-mo as Steve yelled in pain, when the bullet went through his leg.

"Steve!" Johnny yelled.

"Stay back Johnny! Run! Go get the police! Go get help! We'll hold them off!" I yelled to my little brother, and shared a brief look with Steve, and we both nodded, as Steve shakily got back to his feet. This wasn't the first street fight we've been in, and it wasn't the first time we've been shot.

The leader was about to fire again, but with a loud battle cry, I closed the relatively short distance, and wrestled the gun out of his hands, before slapping him to the ground. Steve quickly ran forward, and tried to hold off the other three, as I struggled against the leader's knife. "DIE YOU ******!" He yelled at me, as he managed to plunge the knife into my shoulder.

I yelled in pain, as I reached over for a weapon to use, and grabbed the gun, before popping a cap in his belly. The leader yelled in pain as I took that moment to push him off, and roll on top of him, delivering several swift punches into his face, before knocking him out. I was breathing heavily at that point, and quickly got back to my feet, and turned around to see one of others holding him, while the second stabbed a knife into Steve.

While I was worried for Steve, a thought quickly overcame that. 'Where the hell is the third one?' The screams of Johnny answered that, as the third thug dragged him over, and held a gun against his head. "Johnny!"

"Alright! Nobody move, or the candle gets it!" The thug yelled, as he cocked the gun, and I heard Steve get pushed into the ground, before getting kicked.

I put my hands up, in a non-threatening manner. "Look, just let my brother leave. He wasn't a part of this fight."

"He became a part of this fight when you started beating us up!" I took a step forward while he was talking, hoping to get close enough to take the gun from him. "I know what you're doing! I'm not an idiot! If that's how you want to play, then fine! Let's see how you like to lose a family member!" A loud bang rung out accompanied by a flash of light, and I yelled as I thought my brother was about to die, before we all noticed that Johnny was gone. "What the?!"

I was as shocked as the thug, as my brother just seemed to disappear. But before I could do anything, the thug lifted the gun, and shot me into the chest, sending me falling to the ground. I grabbed my bleeding chest in pain, and I looked over to see Steve struggling to get up with all of his injuries, before he disappeared in a flash of light right before he was shot. I looked back at the three thugs, and two of them stepped on my arms, preventing me from getting up, before the one with the gun walked up, put his foot on my chest, and spat in my face. "You're not going anywhere, bub." I heard a loud bang, and everything went white.

"Are you sure about this Princ... I mean Celestia?" A purple winged unicorn, Twilight Sparkle asked her mentor, as she took another look at the outside world. With these strange new ponies running around with powers that could combat the alicorns, a lot of chaos has been happening. Major thefts are the most common occurrence.

"Yes. We need somepony's help. We don't know how long we have until somepony shows up on our doorstep with powers that make Discord's pale in comparison." Celestia, a tall white winged unicorn replied, looking to her draconequus friend.

"Puh-leeze, that would never happen! I'm Discord! The master of chaos! I'll just remove their powers with a snap of my claws. Or paws." Discord said, gesturing to his eagle claw, and lion paw.

"But what if one of the ponies has the power to negate your own?" Luna, a tall blue winged unicorn asked, making Discord stall.

"Let's just summon some help. I like chaos, but this is destructive chaos! There's no fun in destruction!" Discord said, before pulling out a device that look similar to an old television set. He then plugged the cables sticking out of it into a small crystal looking cube. "There we go. As long as Cadance's cube works, it'll summon the nearest expert of our current predicament here."

"It's not just a cube!" Cadance, a pink winged unicorn said, stamping her hoof into the ground. "It's a spacial magical converter! And are you sure your device will work?"

"Of course it will." Discord said, acting offended, before snapping his paw, and a rather sizable ball of chaos magic appeared above the cube, before being sucked in. "Now, I did my part, now you all do yours." He snapped his fingers, and laid down in a spawned chair, before starting to breath heavily. "Man, trying to stop all that chaos really takes a lot out of me."

The four princesses rolled their eyes, before making their horns glow, and firing beams of magic into the cube, using certain spells they've recently practiced. The beams were absorbed into the cube, before going into the television, which shined with a bright white light, before dimming down, as a loud thud was heard.

"Ugh. My head. What happened?" A voice spoke up, as a strange figure slowly got to it's feet. "Why do I feel, different?" Then, it sniffed, and turned around to face the five strange creatures in the room.
