Pattycakes: Needsby MaroonloverChaptersChapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 1Fluttershy sat in her chair, taking a sip of her tea. Rainbow lay in her crib, sleeping like a baby. So, there was plenty of time for company. Twilight sat in the chair across, not daring to drink yet. Fluttershy chuckled at her friend's stillness, "Oh, Twilight. Do you think I put Foalmula in all my guests' drinks?" Twilight answered with a raised eyebrow, "Perhaps?" "No. No, you came over here to discuss something important. So, no extra little one for mommy. Maybe when we're finished?" "Sorry, not this time. Have to get home afterwards. Spike needs me to help re-alphabetize the library again." Fluttershy shrugged, understanding she couldn't get her way all the time. Sometimes, her foals had to be grown-ups. Fluttershy motioned for Twilight to carry on with her news. Twilight did, knocking back the tea before outright saying, "We need adult Rainbow back." Upset, Fluttershy slammed her teacup on the coffee table, almost smashing the cup to pieces before getting prepared for an argument. She grit her teeth, glaring at her friend seriously, "Maybe I should've drugged you." Twilight rolled her eyes, not even the tiniest bit frightened, "Fluttershy, will you just listen? This is a hard topic to swallow, yet it would go down easier if you listen to it in full." Fluttershy sighed, crossed her hooves to her chest, and would try to keep from another outburst. Twilight listed off the positives of Fluttershy's motherhood, sweet-talking her friend, "First, I must say you are such a great mother. In the beginning few weeks, you were stumbling. Yet now, you can give Rainbow as much care as any mother who has a foal. I think anypony else would have not been able to hoofle the pressure of your...child. Yet, you did! And, you should be proud of yourself! And, she's given you so much confidence! You were about to stand up for yourself! To me! And, you wouldn't have done something like that before. Sure, you can take things a bit too far, but all in all you've grown for regressing Dash." Fluttershy blushed as she smiled, finding the praise to be too much, "Y-you think so?" "I know so!" "T-then, why would you want me to part with my little Dashie?! The very pony who made me strong enough to stand on my four legs with pride since she couldn't?!" Twilight's eyes lost the enthusiasm from before, swiftly turning to a depressed stare, "Because I want Equestria to last for more than a year." Fluttershy didn't know which road Twilight was taking her on to see this decision in a positive light, and it's the curiosity that kept her silent. Twilight almost started to cry, which she had to break away from to continue, "Because...what will we do when another villian returns?! What can we do?! They'll easily defeat us! Without Rainbow, we're...gone. We can't last. We are Equestria's defense when all is hopeless, and won't be there when we're needed most! How can Rainbow operate her Element when she can't even spell loyalty? Buck, barely even say it! What will we do, Fluttershy?" Fluttershy tried to save herself from the guilt of a destroyed Equestria, "What if I find somepony as loyal as Rainbow?! There must be...somepony out there." Twilight shook her head, tears really streaming down now, "No. No, no, no. Dammit, no! That is her Element! You know nopony else could. And, I...I want my friend back. Please, Fluttershy! Please, for me. For the others! That would get Applejack to speak with you again!" Fluttershy's ears dipped in light irritation from Twilight bringing up her and A.J.'s...disagreement, "I can wait a little more. Lasts until the end of the month. Then, we'll talk again. She promised." "Fluttershy...do you really think Rainbow can stay your foal? F-forever?" "Well...I don't know. I don't know! Why can't you just let her be?! She's happy! Happy, Twilight! H-happy!" Now, Twilight's waterworks had progressively run dry. Fluttershy's was just beginning. She had to cup her mouth to keep from the cries being too noisy, hating to let her Dashie hear her weep if that was possible. Twilight wanted to comfort her friend. So...took the oddest route, yet the one she knew Fluttershy would appreciate. Twilight magically stayed Fluttershy's hooves to their sides, which caused Fluttershy to cry more openly. Then, in one quick motion, climbed into her lap, and cuddled into her chest childishly. Fluttershy began to shiver from the emotions within her being so conflicted, and attempted to calm down by hugging Twilight tight enough that the Unicorn's magic may not have been able to free her. Twilight sat within her friend's hold for around five minutes. Five minutes of Fluttershy's shaking/sobbing while petting Twilight's mane and back as if she were the one in need of support. When Fluttershy was seemingly done, Twilight was released. Twilight got up, yet only went to the back of the chair to place her hooves over Fluttershy's shoulders. And, thought of a solution, "What if...you still get your foal? And...we get own friend back as well?" Fluttershy glanced down, shadows covering her eyes as she slipped out, "H-how?" "Well...do what you do with us. Just, in reverse." "Huh?" "You keep us on a little schedule. I come in this day, somepony else another day, etc. Yet, it only lasts a day. Well...why not give Rainbow Dash a day or two a week to be an adult? Then, she can stay your foal the rest of the week without any word from anypony else. Not even Applejack. I'll speak with her." "Though...what's to stop Rainbow from...remembering somehow she was a foal?" "The Foalmula worked on me. I didn't remember anything the first time. Or, the second. Or, any time after that." "Yeah. That's a day, though. What if she remembers, Twilight?! She loves me so much as my baby! I can't stand to know how she would react to our new relationship if she were mentally an adult again! It...it probably wouldn't be good." "...If she remembers being your foal...I will do something. Something. Just...don't worry about that. I will make sure you have your foal. No matter what happens. You will get your foal to keep. Too important for you, emotionally and mentally, to just let everything you've done so far be taken away like that. By me." Fluttershy giggled at how Twilight always knew what to say, "I doubt anypony else in Equestria would've been able to change my mind on a full-time foaled Dashie. You did, Twilight. I believe in you. I trust you will let me keep my foal no matter what. You...are the smartest of my babies. Mommy l-loves you." Twilight left Fluttershy's side, going to the door since her work appeared done. She said as her magic gripped the doorknob, "Heh. Twi...woves her mommy, too." Fluttershy waved away the mare, replying even more motherly as Twilight opened the door, "Mommy woves you back! Yes she does! Yes she does!" "Fluttershy, s-stop it! Ha! You do know I only humor you, right? I'm not into the whole foaling thing like Pinkie or Big Macintosh!" "Sure, sure. I believe you. You're a big filly. Why you can go potty all by yourself, hm?! Only need Mommy most of the time." "You just want to see me blush, hm? Alright, alright. See you tomorrow. I'll get the others, including A.J., over here then. Okay?" "Okay." Chapter 2Next day, Fluttershy prepared Rainbow's mid-day bottle. Rainbow sat in her playpen, sucking a hoof as the other hoof hazardly tossed toys around the upsized confinement. Just as Fluttershy brought the bottle out to her little one, the door opened up. Her friends casually strolled in...besides two. Pinkie Pie practically vaulted inside the living room, attracting remarks on her entrance. Applejack...trudged in, hat so low it nearly left her face unseen. They all stopped dead in their tracks once spying Rainbow, who shoved her face to the lining just for a better look at the visitors. Everypony winced at the sight of her, glancing to find how Applejack would take it. Applejack shook her head, disappointed. Yet, didn't leave the house. She simply hurried to the couch, taking a seat without a word or loud breathe. Twilight breathed a sigh of relief, then demanded of Fluttershy, "Take her to her...um, room. We didn't expect her to be outside of her room right now. Thought she would be taking a nap. Just...please take her to her room." Fluttershy rolled her eyes, explaining the situation, "Well, she was hungry. Thought you all would send somepony here to check when I was ready, instead of just coming in unexpectedly. It's not my fault you all deemed when would be a good time to stop by. So, I will feed her as I planned." Twilight magically ascended Rainbow up to the ceiling, which she absolutely loved. Giggled and clapped as she was in her race's element. Then, floated her into the kitchen as Fluttershy narrowed her eyes at the intervention. Twilight then nipped the bottle from Fluttershy to Pinkie, who understood what to do as Twilight nodded forward. Pinkie Pie gladly hopped into the kitchen, eager to feed the adult baby her meal. Fluttershy snorted, then grumbled, "She always makes a mess with my baby." Applejack nearly grinned at what she believed to be a ridiculous statement made by an obsessive pony, "Sure, honey. Sure." Twilight intervened for the second time when Fluttershy took an agressive step near Applejack, which A.J. responded by getting slightly up from the couch in case a fight was on its way. She stood in the middle of the two, trying to calm them down, "Now now, you two. We are all friends. Nopony needs to try anything. We can all settle this with words. This is why we're all here, true?" Both blew her off, scoffing or waving her away. To aid Twilight, Rarity kept the main conversation on track, "You two quit acting like children! Pun...unintended. Behave, I should say. Would be very sad for Twilight and I to break up a fight. Honestly, it would. We're bad fighters. Sweeties, you two are actually friends! Not enemies! Sure, you're not on the best of terms this minute. Yet, we're here to change that! Don't let this be where your friendship ends." Applejack and Fluttershy said in unison, "Get on with it, girls." Twilight and Rarity glanced at each other, frowns on their faces at how the attitudes were brought onto them now. Rarity then spoke the agreed upon conditions to repair their friendship, "Alright. Anyways, we are here to create a schedule. Every week, Rainbow gets to be her adult self. For two days. Now, when are those two days?" Fluttershy quickly pointed out an unliked rule, "Uh, two days? Why? I don't remember agreeing to two days a week. One." Applejack countered with an equally-acceptable argument, "Never said it couldn't be two days! Two." "One." "Two." One!" "Two!" "One, or I put Foalmula in your drinking water!" "Two, or I punch you in the mouth right here, right now!" Twilight held Fluttershy as Rarity did the same to Applejack, which both fought with all their might. Twilight sweat gallons, yet pushed onto a final decision, "Two days, Fluttershy! Two days...and you get something in return!" Fluttershy and Applejack went still, knowing trying to break free was useless. Fluttershy thought it over, rolling the idea inside her mind as another brilliant one formed. Finding a loved solution, she smirked as she decided then and there, "Fine. Tomorrow. And, the next day. So, every Monday and Tuesday. How does that sound?" Twilight and Rarity figured the two had settled down enough to be allowed freedom. Applejack wondered about that new smile so evident on Fluttershy's face, yet couldn't pass up that deal, "Great. Glad we could do this talk without a bit of violence." Fluttershy chuckled, sounding so creepily happy, "Yeah. I am, too. Baby." "...Don't call me that." "Why? That's what you'll be. For those two days. Every week." "What?!" "Or, no deal." "I will not be your baby, you buck-" Twilight didn't predict that would be Fluttershy's reward for losing her child a few times a week, though added in a way for Applejack to be open with it, "Okay! Both of you, stop! Alright, alright. Now, Fluttershy, you know how Applejack feels about your...lifestyle. So, why not...let Applejack get a day with adult-in-every-way Rainbow Dash. Then, the next will be where you can baby Applejack. Foalmula added into the mix that day will be entirely up to Applejack, also." Applejack did her signature hoof crossing, replying, "I...guess that will work. As long as she sticks with I deciding if I get...ugh, Foalmula. I won't be trapped as a baby in the mind like you did with Dash, hear me?! I will just have to tough it out as an adult. The adult I am and will be staying. Even if I must be embarrassed by playing foal with Fluttershy." Rarity thought of the perfect way to bring the agreement to an end, "Everypony happy?! Lovely! So...why not get it signed with a loving hug, hm?! Fluttershy and Applejack, save your friendship today. Hug." Applejack and Fluttershy knew they were friends, just on different sides of a massively-dividing issue. So, both slowly walked up to each other. When their chests were close to touching...they awkwardly embraced. It felt right to be this loving again, after such a large amount of time away from the other. Even if it felt just as right to choke the other pony until they forgot what oxygen was. Fluttershy whispered too low for anypony else besides Applejack to listen to, "Mommy knows how stubborn this little one can be. Maybe all she needs is a motherly hoof." Applejack would've growled, if not for the dream of her old Dash back to her senses. She breathed back, "We'll see. I was always stubborn. Even as a baby." Twilight and Rarity had left to give the two some alone time to hug, tickling Rainbow with Pinkie having started moments before when Dash finished her bottle and had been burped. Twilight questioned Rarity on the conversation playing out in the next room, "You know they're threatening or insulting each other, right?" Rarity shrugged, giving a sound answer, "Obviously. Clear as day, really. Though, maybe those two and their clashing points-of-view can benefit from this experience?" "We'll see." "Yeah. Should be...a sight. Of some sort." Chapter 3Next day, they all came on by. Bright and early. Fluttershy had stayed with her adult foal the entire night, shaking from the thought of tomorrow. Yet, when her friends knocked on the door to be let in, she knew it was time. Slipping from the room as quiet as possible, she went to let them in. Still shook as if winter came early, though. Everypony got a look at Fluttershy's appearance as she allowed them entrance. Her hair was unbrushed. Her eyes had bags from being up for an entire day without sleep. Her fur had tear streaks from excessive amounts of crying. And, of course, she couldn't keep still. Rarity pushed past everypony else to console the obviously upset mare. She petted her hair and let Fluttershy cry into her chest, “It's fine, Shy. She's only gone for two days. Just two.” Applejack led the charge to the nursery, only concerned for Rainbow. Fluttershy whispered to Rarity, “I don't want her to go. Please, Rarity. Please. No, no, no. Please no.” The determined A.J. entered the room, swiftly turned to the crib, and immediately lifted the full-grown pony from sleep to her hooves. Stripping the diaper loudly off from the drowsy pony, Applejack tossed it away with disgust. Rainbow had weakly awoken, babbling her own language as she was lightly nudged forward. Poor mare only managed to step through the doorway before tripping on the floor. Whimpering at first turned soon to outright crying from the pain of the fall. Applejack groaned, commanding Twilight, “Lift her up, and let's go.” Twilight levitated a wailing Dash above them all, freeing the doorway. Applejack once more led the group to the living room. Fluttershy heard her child distraught, and had to stop herself from screaming at them to put Dash down. Applejack didn't feel anything for Fluttershy's predicament, motioning for them to push on. The others had to keep from glancing into Fluttershy's hurt eyes as they drifted out of the house. Fluttershy noticed as Rainbow had tried throughout the struggle to reach her supposed mother. It was like a nightmare to Fluttershy! She choked back her own wish to cry, saying to Rarity, “I...I w-want to stay in here today. All of today. W-will you st-stay with me, Rarity?” Rarity really desired to be there when Rainbow was taken to Twilight's house to drink her medicine, yet couldn't bring herself to just up and abandon Fluttershy, “Why don't I get some tea going? The normal kind. It'll be our day today. Just two friends having enjoyment, hm?” They got to the library as soon as possible, trying to save themselves the trouble of cleaning off a street or road if Rainbow...lost control. Thankfully, nopony made a scene as they traveled the outskirts of Ponyville, away from the crowds. Twilight had Spike get the antidote at the ready beforehoof. They brought a recently-calmed Dash into the house, who cooed as she was swayed side-to-side by Twilight's magic. Everypony gathered around Dash as she was dropped into a chair. Rainbow loved being the center of attention, even with the mentality of a foal. She smiled, glancing at all of them with innocence practically beaming from her. Spike, who had not been to Fluttershy's house since Dash's...moving in, had a severe case of nervousness as he brought the potion up to the adult baby. She was absolutely excited to see him, considering a dragon was a new concept to her foalish thoughts. Rainbow got in a closer sight of him, and attempted to pet him after finding him cute. Spike held up the antidote, guiding Dash's attention to it instead by simply wiggling it in front of her eyes. She now had her simple attention directed at the bottle of liquid, which made her thirsty. With help from Twilight's magic, Rainbow took the medicine from Spike, bringing it to her lips with loud smacking sounds. She drank it, finding its taste similar to her own bottles. Aside from their being no half of milk in its contents. After downing the last of the bottle, she presented it to Spike. He cautiously grabbed it from her, and stepped back from her until she behaved normal again. Rainbow, very soon afterwards, held her head. She made babbling sounds constantly, not stopping for minutes once started. Then, her speech grew from nothing being decipherable to random words of a little filly learning to talk. The words were random for a long while until she finally said full-on sentences. And, these sentences weren't random. She was actually having to unlock her memories from their prison, recollecting ponies, places, and everything else about herself as she stared through everypony else. Lastly, when she recited her last memory of going to Fluttershy's and having that special drink, she opened her eyes in clarity to shout, “Whoa! Guys, I had the craziest bucking dream! Like...off the charts freaky!” That one sentence sent them all to hug and cuddle their friend with as much love as they could shower her in. She didn't understand what the reason for their extreme closeness to her stemmed from, but it was...sweet. Blushing, she demanded of them, “Alright, alright! Off me! Off me now! You all know how I feel about hugging for too long!” They followed her order, giving her space as she rubbed her eyes. Rainbow now wanted to know about how she got from Fluttershy's to Twilight's house for no reason, along with another tiny concern, “Okay. So, you fillies mind answering some questions? Because...I have not a single clue how I got from over at Flutter's to here! And...did Pinkie Pie drug me?!” Everypony tilted their heads, confused where she got such an idea from. Pinkie told in her defense, “Um...huh? No. What are you talking about?” Pinkie Pie is not allowed inside most courtrooms, even for jury duty, considering her statements tend to involve...nothing substantial. Mostly confusion. Rainbow crossed her hooves, then searched her thoughts for the correct argument, “Fluttershy said you wanted me to try something by the name of Gummyade. I try it. Then, Fluttershy gets really into this song she sang to the C.M.C. for no reason. Next thing I know, I'm out. I had some freaky dreams after that. Was stuck in a prison with Scootalo deciding if I was going to be...like, a foal or something. Fluttershy's voice rang in, and it was sounding all insane in the head. Creepy as creepy gets, I'll say. Luna should've pulled the damn plug on that dream. Ugh, that...was a wild ride. The kind that makes ya wake up screaming, ya know?” Pinkie quickly covered for herself, leaving Fluttershy out of the explanation completely, “Yeah. Might have put too much sugar in the mix. Makes me crash after a long day, too.” Rainbow stuck her tongue out in sickness, “Yeah. Cool it on the sugar, Pie. Almost gave me a heart attack.” Twilight covered up the past few weeks with a gloriously brilliant alibi, “Yeah! About that...you actually got pretty ill from that drink. Doctors had to pump your stomach to get it out. You were asleep through the whole thing, though! When you were free to go, we brought you here!” Rainbow seemed shocked, asking in fright, “I don't remember much of anything! How long was I there?!” “Quite the while. Uhm...few m-months?” “Months?! You mean to tell me those damn doctors held me there for that long?! What in the hay?! Just to pump my stomach?! You've got to be kidding me! Buck, would've done it myself to get out of there quicker!” “Yeah. They knew you were famous. What with being associated with Princess Celestia and Luna, they kinda took the money those two kept feeding in. And, ran with it.” “That's...so many kinds of wrong! That has to be illegal or something! Is...it?” “Well...no. They have the authority to keep you in their care as long as they feel you are not fully healed. Yet, the doctors you were given...had lied so much and with so many astoundingly complicated reasons they were let go.” “Such a load. That should be illegal! I hope they left with not a single more coin in their greedy pockets!” “...They didn't! Hooray!” “Serves them right.” Applejack wanted to come out and confess about Fluttershy. Yet, she wouldn't. Twilight made her promise. And...she had accepted. Sadly, she had. So, it was better to just nod and smile with everypony else about the completely false history. Rainbow grinned, holding her stomach to comically declare, “Heh. Pretty hungry right about now! Guess a stomach pumping will do that to ya! Can we get something to eat? I am starving! Feels like I haven't had a good meal in...well, months!” Everypony cheerfully laughed. Not at the joke, but just at looking Rainbow in the face again. And, this time was different from the previous times. She could view them as friends. Not caretakers or siblings. See them as ponies she could joke with, converse with, and help with their problems. Applejack smiled, yet knew this Dash...wouldn't be the same pony day in and day out. She was temporary. A gift every two days...a damned week. That she was there for a short while, only to keep Fluttershy from losing another friend. This one not to some weird fetish that's sent the mare off the deep end. … A.J. would not give away the awful secret she had to hold within herself. She would find another way to make sure this Rainbow, the adult before her that stood proudly for Loyalty, got her freedom. She would. Somehow. Just...in secret. She just gained another secret, one she had no problem keeping held in. Chapter 4“Laid off?! What do ya mean laid off?!”, Rainbow growled out at the knowledge her position was currently withheld from her. Twilight hated explaining one thing after another, “Rainbow, you were...under-the-weather. What did you expect? They just didn't believe you would be able to come in after being gone so long. Least not for a few more weeks.” “I am fine now! Those buckers will give me my job back to-day! They aren't going to leave me high and dry just because of a tummy ache! No matter what! I will ponysally march down there right now, and show them I can do my job...and theirs! Have that sky so clean you will need a map just to find the clouds!” Rainbow immediately flew from her seat at the table, on a mission to secure her weatherpony position. Twilight, not having that, wrapped her magic into the confident Pegasus's torso, dragging her down to their level. Once Rainbow stopped threatening Twilight to free her or be in trouble, she released the pony once an apology was heard. Rainbow asked sarcastically what to do about the problem, “Fine, Miss Know-It-All. What would you have I do?” Twilight stated with a roll of the eyes, “Don't attack them for a common mistake, maybe?” “Sure. Sounds less fun, but sure.” “And, let me hoofle this, alright?” “Since your my friend, yeah. Maybe you can even get me a raise while you're at it. Seeing as how I selflessly am dedicating myself to work again instead of just lounging around.” “Don't bet on it, Dash.” Rainbow waved her off dismissively, then chowed down on the plate of steamed carrots and broccoli set in front of her. She may be back to her regular state of mind, but she had the exact same table manners as when mentally regressed. Actually, worse. Rainbow literally licked the dish clean, not leaving a crumb of food visible by her meal's end. Spike felt a sense of pride when Rainbow automatically congratulated him on a lunch like no other. Rainbow then yawned, got up from the table, and stretched her wings out pleasurably. She remarked while walking towards the door, “Thanks for the awesome lunch! Going home now! Maybe you guys can come over soon?! I'll break out the apple cider, and we can party our flanks off! Spike...go to the Cakes. The type of party we'll be having is for adults only. No babies, 'kay?” Everypony else nearly choked on their food when they noticed Rainbow about to depart. Twilight instantly teleported to the doorway, blocking passage. Twilight countered Rainbow's raised eyebrow with a line as sappy as her library, “Don't leave us! Just yet! We want every shred of time with you until the day's over! Then, you can go home! We...want to do everything we can with you, our best friend in the whole wide world!” Rainbow groaned as the realization hit her hard, “You haven't told a single townspony I'm back yet, have you? They all think I'm still in the hospital, right?” “...Right. They have no clue you are here.” Twilight brought her hoof over Rainbow's neck, gripping her warmly. She discussed the plan to Rainbow, yet would pass glances at the others staring at the scene, “What we'll do is have every-pony else with us two sound the news of your unexpected arrival! That way, nopony bothers you with constant annoying questions on how you got home so quickly! Think you can wait four hours? Just four hours! Not much ti-me! Only-” Rainbow cut her off, already over Twilight's odd voicing of almost every word, “Yeah, yeah, yeah! Got it! Four hours! I understand what that means! Don't have to keep repeating it!” Fluttershy had her special pink pacifier in, suckling it deeply. She couldn't believe she had just came up here with Rarity. To the spa?! With her child just out there in the cruel, immense world?! Rarity asked the spa ponies for some privacy, which they gave. When they left, Fluttershy spit out the nipple to comment with a defeated expression, “I had them calling me mommy their second visit. Were so cute with their little booties on. Heh, those two loved getting huggies and kissies.” Then, Rarity sighed with where this was going. All of a sudden, Fluttershy's tears were ruining the cream on her face, “Just. Like. Dashie!” Rarity groaned as she shoved the pacifier back in its owner's mouth, explaining, “Fluttershy, you are fine! She is fine! Everypony is fine! You have today and tomorrow, and she'll be back in your hooves again! So, for today, you are the foal and I am the mother. What I say goes, and what you say is...well, nothing at all. Keep that paci in until I say so. Do I make myself clear, young lady?!” The misery of the mother was replaced by the worry of a child. Fluttershy, for once in a full moon since her becoming the mother of the town, could only stay silent and nod at the new parental figure. Out of nowhere, Pinkie Pie energetically gabbed into the room without any care to the occupant's privacy, “Rainbow Dash is an adult again! Everypony, keep quiet about her being Fluttershy's foal! Not! A! Word! She's in the dark about everything, and a secret like this is on the hush-hush! No talking about it! Not even whispering! Okay! Great! Glad we had this talk! Have a nice day!” Then, blurred away. Rarity and Fluttershy just gave each other perplexed glances, then got up from their lounge chairs. Peering into the hallway, they spied their unusual friend zipping from room to room, yelling and screaming her urgent message. Every last room. Even...bathrooms. Which is why she was discharged from the building shortly after. Rarity and Fluttershy had watched as Pinkie Pie fought Bulk Biceps on her way out the entrance, informing everypony again to remain quiet on anything Rainbow Dash. Rainbow banged her head on the table, finally unable to refrain from hollering, “Dammit, Twilight! I don't care about the authors to your stupid books!” Twilight's lessons were cut short at Dash's outburst. With the face of a displeased teacher, she lightly glared, “These are important figures in our history-” “Don't. Give. A. Flying. Buck.” “Rainbow!” “Well?! Why should I?! What, am I suddenly gonna shoot magic from my imaginary horn?!” “Well...no. But, they do matter!” “To you, leader-of-nerds. Not me.” “Hey!” Rainbow breathed in deeply, and exhaled slow and hard in distaste. Then, checked the clock. She expected Twilight to answer her with a desirable remark, “When can I leave?! Almost fours hours! I need to get fresher air than...this! It blows!” Twilight hoped for her group of messengers to return soon before Rainbow leaped from the nearest window. … After a tense few moments of Rainbow impatiently flapping her wings, everypony rejoined at the library. Rainbow jumped in front of them, questioning Applejack because she would be the most truthful, “Does everypony know I'm back?!” A.J. smirked, moving herself and the others away from Rainbow's flight path. Dash understood, grinning madly before bursting out from her confines into freedom. The wind never felt better. Applejack took her hat off to hold it in salute for her soaring friend, saying to her without realizing she was in a crowd, “Everypony knows your back, Dash. And, that's how you'll stay.” ... Then, eyes converged on her. With the most interrogating gaze, Twilight gave her the third degree, “Applejack, what do you mean by that?” Applejack noticed the entryway close, and her circle of friends literally close in on her. She, the worst liar of the entire bunch, had to mislead them all about her upcoming plans. No w-worries. None. At all. Chapter 5Applejack tried to hide the fact she had just blurted her scheme out, “I m-meant that she now gets to live around everypony else! You know, for the two days a week she is not a child! And...everypony is okay with that! Heh. Al-righty!” Twilight raised an eyebrow, attention raised, “Okay. I hope so, Applejack. Hope so.” Pinkie and Spike both departed the library since the air of suspicion had dissipated from the main room. They were more concerned with searching the skies for Rainbow Dash. Applejack calmed down, going to join them. Twilight wasn't done speaking just yet. Putting a hoof on A.J.'s shoulder, she said her real hope, “A.J., I know you want Rainbow back full-time. A part of everypony else feels the same. You may be able to convince Fluttershy to let her baby go. Maybe. I do kind of doubt it, sadly. Yet, I made a promise. Don't make me break it, A.J.. Don't make a liar out of me. Because you're the only one I feel willing to do something...crazy.” Applejack mentally grumbled at her suggesting anything Applejack would do is crazier than turning your life-long friend into your child. She brushed the hoof off, responding before she walked away, “I have a lot of promises to keep. Some I got some major issues with. All I can say is...I'll try.” “Just...try?” “Yup. Just try. I will try. That's it. All I can say on the subject. You understand?” “...Please, Applejack. Promi-” Applejack was going home. No need to stay. Just be by herself for a bit, then come back to hang out with Rainbow. Twilight just watched her go, knowing leaving Applejack alone would be in her best interest. Scootalo was having so much fun! She jumped a table at a restaurant, and slid under a server as he strolled by with drinks for some guests. She pumped a hoof in the air after the stunt, hearing shocks and applause from the party. Just not the frightened waiter. She scootered onto the main road, riding past ponies with ease. When a flash of multiple colors sped past even her, bringing back memories of Rainbow when she wasn't her adopted little sister. And, as Scootalo tried to follow the phenomenon, it surprised her by diving back. Right for her! She screamed, and her scooter flipped out from her hooves steering wildly to avoid the incoming form. Scootalo was sent flying, just not in the way she ever expected. And...the flash saved her from a painful crash! It saved her! Rainbow grinned like a true speedster, “'Sup, Scoots! Wanna see how fast this pony can fly?!” Scootalo only whimpered as their speed increased, “R-Rainbow?” “The one and only, little sis'!” “Is...this a nightmare?” After that little unusual choice of words, Rainbow cut the brakes on breaking ponysal records. She slowed down. Soon, landed on the ground with Scootalo still wrapped in her hoof. She sat down in mild traffic, not worried about anypony about to overhear their conversation with the surrounding noises so loud. She asked as she placed her thought-of sister onto her shoulders, “Did you say nightmare?” Scootalo had forgotten she liked riding Rainbow's back, nuzzling in deep. She took her time answering, “...Y-yeah.” “What's wrong, Scoots? You don't like flying anymore?” “No. No. That's not it.” “Then...what is it?” “Y-you are supposed to be the-” Pinkie Pie and Spike had seen this scene unfold once spotting both Rainbow and Scootalo near each other. Spike shouted when he got up to them, “Wait! Wait! Not another word, anypony!” Rainbow told him with right, “You see us having a sisterly moment, right? Are you going to be in my way? Sorry, the position's full. Twilight holds that damn title.” “N-no! Wait...sort of! Okay, just listen! Scootalo wasn't told about you getting out of...the hospital! Doesn't know a thing!” “You didn't tell her!” “There are so many ponies who live here. We were bound to not get a few.” “Scootalo, though?! Really, Spike?!” Scootalo had not the slightest idea what was going on. Last week, she was helping Fluttershy feed Rainbow her third bottle of the day. This week...Rainbow's back! Back back. Mentally all there. And...it was the best and worst moment in her life. Apparently, she didn't remember her weeks of babyhood. Though, Scootalo did. Especially that day she betrayed Rainbow for past mistreatment. She hopefully wouldn't ever remember that. Scootalo felt as guilty as Rainbow must have after that day she slapped her. But, Rainbow was back! And, the guilt would go away soon enough! She hoped it would. Spike and Rainbow had been arguing while Scootalo thought intently. Spike held a claw to his temple, explaining to Scootalo to silence the anger of the mare, “Scootalo, Rainbow just got out of the hospital. Remember when she was put into the hospital after drinking Fluttershy's drink? The one Pinkie Pie made with too much su-gar? Well, after months of being kept essentially hostage by those doctors, was freed from them! You know, because Celestia and Luna kept giving money to them to keep Rainbow healthy, and everypony thought Rainbow was just being used?! When all she needed was a stomach pumping?! Well, here she is! Out and about! Don't bother asking her what her time was like there because she doesn't remember any of it.” Rainbow griped on the length of Spike's explanation, “Ugh. Too long! Couldn't you have just given the short version of it? I was the one who was in an apparent coma, not her. Pretty sure she was around you all enough to hear bits and pieces of my time in the hospital.” “Well, I am just following what you asked of me. Don't hit the messenger.” Scootalo pretended to believe the story, though was emotionally honest, “Oh. Well...awesome! My big sister is back!” Pinkie had kept herself quiet for as long as she could. Finally, she excitedly told of her desires, “Can we pwease go to Sugarcube Corner?! Come on, everypony! This is around the time Ms. Cake makes her daily cupcakes! We can't miss them! Hurry, hurry, hurry!” Rainbow deadpanned as they walked to Sugarcube Corner, “Better not be too sweet. Don't want another trip to the hospital.” Chapter 6Fluttershy and Rarity had gone from the spa back to Fluttershy's house. Now, were going to engage in a little bonding experience with a little role reversal mixed in. Rarity raised a concerned question as Fluttershy laid on the changing table, “Dear...how would one do this again? It's been years since I've had to put anypony in diapers.” Fluttershy said through the pacifier, “Mm-hhmmpppff. Mmm mmmmfff fffmmm-” Rarity chuckled lightly to herself before pulling out Fluttershy's pacifier, “There. N-ow, what were you going to say, sweetheart?” Fluttershy blushed at not even realizing the pacifier was still in her mouth. Sure, she had taken it out once leaving the spa, but...that was outside. In her home, she had no issue keeping one in for hours after taking in each soothing suckle of the rubber distraction. ...She had kinda forgotten it's powers of relaxation since it had been awhile from her own last baby session. She commented after wiping her mouth of the sliver of drool dribbling on down her chin, “S-sorry. Um...well, the first thing you should do is actually grab a diaper.” Rarity rolled her eyes, grasping one in her magic before sarcastically replying, “Well, obviously.” “Good. Next, lift up my flank. Put the diaper under me. And...oh! Yes, don't forget to thread my tail through.” Rarity raised her friend's backside up slightly, then slid the diaper underneath her body before gently pulling Flutters's long tail through the hole in the bottomside. “Powder well. Then, bring both the top and bottom to my hips. Finally, secure the tapes and it's done.” Rarity noticed the baby powder she held being non-name brand, wondering, “Wait, Fluttershy, from where do you usually purchase your baby powder?” “Local store. Called Bag 'N Brag. Why?” “Why?! Ugh, please tell me you don't use this same baby powder on myself and the others!” “What? Why?” “Fluttershy. Answer the question.” “...Y-yes?” Rarity gained a most displeased frown, usually the kind seen in use after witnessing a particularly tacky outfit being displayed by a simply out-of-the-fashion-loop pony. She glared at the run-of-the-mill powder, then went about sprinkling it onto Fluttershy's behind without a word. After she magically rubbed in the powder, Rarity brought the top of the diaper up and over Fluttershy's backhooves. Manually holding the diaper at bay, Rarity finally closed the procedure by sticking the tapes snugly to the front's sides. Fluttershy had her fronthooves pulled forward to bring her into a sitting position without her needing to do anything, aside from asking Rarity if something was the matter with that noticeable frown upon her face. Rarity sighed, explaining in detail a few things, “Okay. Dear, it is very simple. I have a very tidy coat. Very kept with. Now, that baby powder is...well, below my fine coat's threshold. It saps away precious revitalizating nutrients my hair needs to stay shiny. Which affects my self-esteem! Which will also affect my work effort! Which will also affect my ability to perform responsibilities as a fantastic friend to you all! Do...you see where I'm getting at?” Fluttershy was frightened now, stammering out a scared response to her friend's growing voice, “W-what do you want me to do?!” “Throw. Out. That. Powder.” “O-okay. And...I guess I can also just buy higher quality baby powder from now on.” Rarity grinned at getting her way, delightfully popping the pacifier back in the distressed Fluttershy's mouth, “Lovely. Now, what should we do next, my wittle, wittle pony?” Everypony sat at the table, awaiting Pinkie Pie to return with their cupcakes. Rainbow still ground her teeth, “Better not be sugaring those damn cupcakes, Pie. I'll come back to haunt you if I die from this.” Scootalo giggled, finding Rainbow's slight threats funny. She poked Rainbow, getting her attention. Rainbow stared down with a frown, which quickly evaporated once looking at Scootalo. She asked with a confident smirk, “What's the prob', little sis'?” That still got to Scootalo. Not in a bad way. Actually rather nice. She did like being the big sister, but being the younger one was even better right now. Scootalo's grin increased. Rainbow raised an eyebrow, saying with false caution, “Keep that smile up, and it might fall to the floor, Scoots.” Scootalo lessened it a bit before asking, “Can I have the first one? I'll be like a taste-tester! Make sure the cupcakes aren't too sweet for you!” “Yeah, sure. Have at it.” Pinkie Pie hopped out of the kitchen with a tray of cupcakes bouncing on her tail. At the table, she simply flicked her tail, sending them flying into the air. As she casually took her seat, they landed perfectly without a single flick of icing being disturbed. Spike whistled at the two-second show. Pinkie nodded enthusiastically, then motioned for everypony to dig in. Twilight walked in the building, ears and tail low. She drudged her way to the table, not even bothering to sit with her friends when they moved over for her. She simply sat on the hard flooring, head directly on the table in a depressed state. Pinkie hated seeing Twilight like this, guessing where that face came from. She tried to elevate the bookkeeper's mood by sweeping a cupcake to her lips. Twilight didn't budge a single cheek, instead just taking in the smells of the baked good when that was the last thing she wanted that second. Rainbow pat Twilight's head, mentioning with a comedic tone, “You know, I hear in some countries it's impolite to walk into a room just to kill its fun.” Twilight brushed the annoying hoof and cupcake away, stating, “Applejack's giving me a hard time right now. She just doesn't understand that I made a promise.” Pinkie announced with a sing-song voice, “Did ya make her Pinkie Promise to not do anything baaad?!” “No. I didn't, Pinkie Pie.” “Then, that's why!” “For a pony who loves smiles, you really seem to not want mine right now.” “Just saying! Don't be such a big baby about it!” Scootalo, Twilight, and Spike all gave her their most hassled glances she had probably ever seen. Pinkie sweat at their body language, which basically said for her to stuff her pie-hole and keep it shut. She giggled nervously, chomping on four cupcakes at once to fulfill their wishes. Twilight for some reason felt a lot better now, thanking her friend for finally cheering her up, “Good job, Pinkie! You did manage to put a smile on my face. Keep up the good work! And, the not talking for right now. Especially. The. Not. Talking.” Twilight then went back to her previous comment, “So, yeah. Applejack's being really difficult right now. Seems like the Element of Stubbornness to me these days.” Dash asked if she could do anything, which Twilight somehow managed to pull off an artfully calm shake of her head. Twilight definitely didn't want Rainbow's help on the subject...that involved Rainbow Dash. Huh. Weird. Anyways, Twilight would just have to do something. Applejack wouldn't really listen all that well on how much losing Rainbow would hurt Fluttershy, least not from Twilight. Maybe she could have Big Mac talk with Applejack on this touchy topic. He was her brother. And, one of Fluttershy's more frequent foals. More so than Twilight was. So he would make the best medium between the two opposing forces. Hopefully. Just can't let Applejack tell Rainbow about her having been Fluttershy's foal this whole time! That...would be very bad. Very, very, very bad. Truthfully, if Twilight had… If she had… Hold it, where'd everypony run off to?! She hadn't even noticed as everypony except Spike had filed out of the bakery. What?! How?! Twilight was going to ask Spike on when everypony gained the ability to seemingly teleport off. She decided not to because Spike had his we-are-all-screwed expression on. Twilight didn't even have to say a word, only motioned for him to get on with his screaming of trouble ahead as usual. He did. Spike then grabbed onto Twilight, tears about to burst from his eyelids, “She's going to the farm!” Twilight groaned, patting her best baby dragon's back to calm him the buck down, “It's okay, it's ookaayy. Now, was it Rainbow?” “Uh-huh.” “She wants to get to the bottom of our friendship issue, doesn't she?” “Uh-huh.” “So, while I was thinking for that whole minute, did she just keep asking about the promise?” “Uh-huh.” “And...what did you say?” “We said we didn't know!” “Why would you say that?!” “We all panicked! Aside from Scootalo. You know, who actually didn't know about the promise.” “At the same time?! You and Pinkie both panick at the same damn time?!” “...Kinda.” “I was out for a minute! A minute, Spike! And, the both of you couldn't think to just shake me back out of my thoughts! Okay...if you are here, does that mean Pinkie will follow Rainbow until we arrive, then?” “Yeah.” “Then, we're fine for a little bit. Still should probably follow them.” “True.” Twilight magically levitated Spike onto her back as she got up from the table, and made her way to the entrance. He delivered one last message before they parted the bakery, “Hey, Twilight.” She braced herself for more bad news, just expecting it to follow her all day like she would probably have to follow Rainbow, “What, Spike?” “You were out of it for much longer than a minute.” “Spike. I never been more tempted in my entire life to spank you. Until this very moment.” “Says the big baby.” “That...was actually pretty good,” Twilight had to admit with half-irritation/half-acceptance as she raced off to Sweet Apple Acres. Chapter 7Big Mac was in the house, sucking on a pacifier in his room. When suddenly, Twilight teleported onto his bed. He proceeded to let out a muffled scream, wondering where she came from. Twilight turned to the stallion, blushing as she had invaded his priavcy. Spike just chuckled, “Hah. Sup, Little Mac.” Big Macintosh narrowed his eyes, spat out the binkie, and demanded to know, “What, Twilight?” She jumped from his bed, looked out the window, then realized they had a bit before Rainbow went over to talk with Applejack. Twilight then turned around, walked to the hoof of his bed, then stood there thinking for a moment. Big Mac asked as she just stared at him blankly for a moment, “Uh...Twilight? You been drinking some Foalmula lately?” Twilight then drops to her knees, begging him, “Help me! Please! Your sister and Rainbow are going to ruin Fluttershy’s life when Dash is told the truth! You’ve gotta make her promise not to tell!” Sighing, Big Macintosh replied to Twilight’s display with annoyance, “Twilight, I an’ ma sis ain’t seen eye to eye on dis. At all. I won’t be a much help to ya.” Twilight screams in frustration, “Then, why would I even go to you for help?!” He shrugs, then gets off his bed. After promptly leaving the room, he returns with a wrangled Applejack cursing her brother out, “Unhoof me, darnit! Brother, you’ll be lucky to see sundown if I ain’t put down-” He tossed her onto the bed, then blocked the door by just sitting in front of it. Big Macintosh looks to Twilight, replying as she soaked up her tears, “There. Now, you sort dis all out.” Twilight and Applejack stare at the other. … A.J. just exclaims, “Dammit, Twilight! I won’t tell Rainbow a damn thing!” Twilight whispered as she scraped the floor with a hoof, “Pinkie Promise...” Applejack moaned, then did exactly as she was asked, eye-prodding motion and all. All with enough venom to kill a snake. Twilight sighed in relief...until Applejack explained, “I’ve got a few other ways of makin’ Fluttershy stop dis freakshow by tomorrow’s end, anyways.” Twilight and Big Mac frowned, looked to each other, then glared at the captive mare before them. All Applejack could say was, “Hey, I’m just being honest. This is crazy. An, it’s even more plum crazy my own family and friends would allow such behavior in de first place.” The two others in the room shouted, “Hey!” Applejack got comfy on the bed, crossing her hooves and pulling her hat down, “Bunch of big babies is all of ya. Too scared to hurt somepony’s feelings when they deserve hurtin’.” Twilight recommended to Applejack instead, “Why don’t you just willingly try it out? Being a baby should be fun for you most of all!” “Nope. Only doing it to uphold my end of dis here bargain.” “It makes you stress-free, though.” “I get eight hours of unstressed sleep. Good enough for me.” “What about having somepony take care of your every need?” “I like not being lazy.” Twilight moaned, guessing she would just have to check up on Fluttershy and Applejack more tomorrow than she thought. Knock. Knock. Applejack guessed right, “Rainbow, I believe?” Twilight nodded with hesitation, still depression at what tomorrow held. Applejack stood up, promising, “Whatever she’s here for, it ain’t gonna matter in a bit. We’re gonna do whatever my friend Rainbow wants to do tonight. Starting as soon as I leave this house.” She threatened Big Mac, “Get up, or I toss your paci outside.” He didn’t need anymore reason to climb to his hooves hurriedly, even opening the door for his little sister with a nervous smile on. Applejack left them behind, yelling as she went downstairs, “You two weirdos have fun!” Chapter 8Applejack had the best night with her good ol' friend Rainbow than she'd had in awhile with anypony else. They drank, sang, joked, and even broke a few things in a heated argument before passing out. ... But, that was then. Applejack sighed as she knocked on the door of her...friend's house, hollering, "Uh...F-Fluttershy! I'm 'ere! Just...err, waitin' ou'side for ya." Fluttershy opened the door, grinning with excitement. Kinda weird. Almost as if she'd been waiting at the door the entire time. I really darn hope this mare wasn't hidin' behind dat door dis whole time. Fluttershy allowed A.J. indoors, then promptly shut the door behind her. Then, locked it with a awfully-heavy padlock, which almost didn't fit the door. And, placed the key in her mane. Applejack raised an eyebrow, stating plainly, "Ya know...I'm not just gonna up and leave, right? I mean, why lock the door?" Fluttershy tilted her head, eyes narrowing as she slipped out, "Oh, wouldn't want the baby to go where they don't belong." Applejack huffed, snorting out dust as she raised her hooves to the sky, "Dammit, mare. Why is it you can't go one day nowadays without soundin' as crazy as a possum on roller skates?!" Fluttershy giggled, walked over to A.J., pat her head condescendingly, then strolled into the kitchen to retrieve...a baby bottle. Applejack glared at the bottle, neck cracking as if a battle were to ensue, "Get that crap out of my face." Fluttershy leaned against the doorframe, chuckling as sh corrected her 'foal', "It's not directly in your face yet, sweetheart." "Then, outta my sight!" Fluttershy waved it in her hoof in a circular motion, flicking a few drops here and there onto the wooden flooring, remarking casually, "Do you really think I could force this on you? You are much stronger than I am, Applejack. I'm no lunatic." Sure, you're not a lunatic. You're just off your damn medication, is that it?! Applejack wanted proof, motioning that Flutters drink it before she even stepped hoof any closer to the motherly mare. Fluttershy took the hint, and ran with it, sipping from the bottle until it was a third gone. She took deep pleasure in watching Applejack squirm at Fluttershy's joy from drinking from a ba-ba again. Fluttershy popped it out dramatically, little dribbles of the creamy milk dashing down her lips as she grinned once more. She shook the bottle happily, beckoning with her wings for Applejack to join her, seductively cooing, "Come to momma, baby. The bottle's tasty. Mmmm-hmmmm." Applejack sighed, rolled her eyes, then straddled up to the demented pony, yanked the bottle out of her hoof, then guzzled the contents of the drink down before Fluttershy could attempt to have her drink it the her way. Fluttershy shook her head in disappointment, "You really did it. Good. Now, my job's a tad bit easier." Applejack growled as she saw Fluttershy make a move towards her stomach, but didn't bite or thrash...despite how close Fluttershy remained after the warning. Fluttershy sat on the ground after realizing the effects hadn't taken effect just yet, "Hey, I was only doing what was for the best for my baby Jackie. If she wants to get my nice clean floors dirty by not letting me feel her stomach, then fine. But, you'll get a spanking afterwards if you do so. Just stating that right now." Applejack didn't quite understand what Fluttershy was sayiing as she felt her eyes begin to swirl in circles. Fluttershy left her front row seat to the show of a lifetime, instead rationalizing that she get a diaper A.J. could wear comfortably. Applejack tried to call out to Fluttershy to return for questioning, but clutching her belly was much more important right now. Fluttershy promptly returned with a big diaper, prepping it by ripping the tabs apart. She said as she placed it behind Applejack, "When you're ready, we can begin." Applejack said a final few words before her vocabulary turned to mush, "W-wha h-hap?" Fluttershy stood directly behind A.J., patting the grown mare's plot as she discussed the trick played on her, "You saw me drink that concoction, but didn't ask how old it was. See, that brew is a former batch of mine. I discovered it didn't work on Pegasi after trying it out on my brother. But, it does work on Unicorns and Earth-Ponies. How wonderfully weird is that?" Applejack couldn't hoofle the pressure anymore, falling down onto the diaper as she groaned in pain. Fluttershy helped her big foal out by laying her fully onto the ground, petting her stomach for a bit, then finishing up the taping of the tabs on the diaper. She smiled down onto her current baby-brained honey-bunches by asking kindly, "Are you having little one problems? Baby need go one? Or, go t-" Fluttershy's question was cut off by the loud passing of gas by Applejack, who giggled to herself as she made a very unladylike sound. She clapped her hooves in pleasure as her diaper expanded from poop rushing to land in the drop zone. Applejack's front hooves held her back hooves out of instinct, surprisingly helpful in unloading the rest of her fresh manure into her padded babyish garment without further delays. Fluttershy continued to rub her hoof around parts of Applejack. She especially made sure to also press down onto the poor pony's stomach gently, hearing the tell-tale signs of messing coming to a close, but wanted to be sure the diaper wouldn't be puffed out by more surprises meant for mommies. Applejack wasn't phased by the icky mush taking up space in her diaper's back end, finding the warm feeeling to be sort-of fun, of all things. She kicked her hooves lazily, not needing or even finding a point to do so aside the infantile desire to. She giggled, pressing into her own dirty diaper with her mommy viewing up at her, happy her parental audience was as interested in her diaper as the adult-foal currently was. Fluttershy -- after several moments of viewing this new fantasy come to life -- decided enough playtime was enough, shooing Applejack's elusive hooves out of the way of the ruined diaper. Assisting the confused adult-foal in getting to her hooves, which suddenly felt as foreign as talking to A.J. this moment, Fluttershy directed her new baby to the nursery for a cleaner diaper than what she joyfully babbled on. Today's going to a long day, and I'd have it no other way. Heh.
Chapter 1Fluttershy sat in her chair, taking a sip of her tea. Okay?" "Okay."
Chapter 2Next day, Fluttershy prepared Rainbow's mid-day bottle. Of some sort."
Chapter 3Next day, they all came on by.
Don't want another trip to the hospital.”
Chapter 6Fluttershy and Rarity had gone from the spa back to Fluttershy's house.
Applejack left them behind, yelling as she went downstairs, “You two weirdos have fun!”
Chapter 8Applejack had the best night with her good ol' friend Rainbow than she'd had in awhile with anypony else. Heh.
